The PPTA Te Wehengarua Annual Conference 2024 is happening this week. And as expected, there’s some wacky things being suggested – especially around identity politics and gender ideology – because that’s all some teachers seem to care about. Not the maths, reading and writing as most parents are expecting.

Recently we have been responding to some woke research and surveys. One was a survey from Massey University about whether Principals were indoctrinating their children with InsideOut material, and the second was the study from Victoria University in Wellington which was trying to practice conversion therapy on Bob and make him more loving and accepting of paedophilia. It didn’t work. Today we do a survey from Western Sydney University about the inclusion of transgender and gender diverse (TGD) health in the medical curriculum across NZ and Australia. This should be fun.

The new Government is super-keen to ram through a law making surrogacy way more easier. The question that nobody is asking: Should we be making surrogacy and sperm / egg donation “easier”? We will ask that question. We.'ll also show you some disturbing examples of the commodification of children, and how the rights of children are not being considered.

According to Kamala Harris and the pro abortion mainstream media, women are dying in the US because pro-life laws don’t allow abortion on demand. Last week, in an attempt to try and bolster their argument, they were jumping on the tragic cases of two women who died in Georgia. But here’s what most of the media won’t tell you about these two sad cases. These women died after attempting chemical or so-called “medication abortions.” But that didn’t stop the abortion lobby and the media blaming… Trump.

The agenda of the once great NZ Herald is becoming very clear – and for those who weren’t sure, this week removed any doubt. In a specifically child-focused section on the newspaper website, they featured a 7-year-old child in stilettos pushing catwalking, crossdressing and even some twerking. Who needs drag queens in libraries to indoctrinate our children when we have the NZ Herald.

A ‘study’ by Victoria University says that reducing stigma towards people with a sexual attraction to children (aka "paedophile") is important for mitigating the negative consequences of stigma towards their 'orientation'. Bob enrolled in the survey and started the ‘conversion therapy’. Did it work on him?

We’ve been sent a survey which has been sent to primary school principals around NZ by an “Educational Psychologist and Senior Lecturer” at Massey University. One principal told us “Most primary school principals and school communities.. do not see it as age appropriate to be promoting policies of gender & sexuality at a primary school level.”. We analyse this latest academic push on primary schools under the guise of a 'survey'.

Activists and academics want to play linguistic gymnastics with the term “paedophile”. The movement is even going so far as to claim that paedophilia should be understood as a sexual 'orientation' and that the ‘stigma’ is making the paedophile the ‘victim’. The danger is that trying to destigmatise morally eroded behaviour generally ends up normalising it. In this episode, we examine the history of this movement and some of the key players.

Just over a month ago, the Royal Commission’s final report, Whanaketia – through pain and trauma, from darkness to light, was presented to Parliament and published on the Royal Commission’s website. It was a disturbing read as we learnt about the extent of sexual abuse – especially of minors – in both state care and religious institutions. It is therefore especially galling and sickening that coming so soon after this, one of NZ’s major universities – Victoria University in Wellington – appeared to be rebranding paedophiles as ‘victims’ of stigma whose only guilt was having a sexual ‘preference’ or ‘orientation’.

The new Disney “Star Wars” show, “The Acolyte.” has been promoted as the gayest “Star Wars” show yet. A commenter wrote, “Disney keeps doubling down because it would rather engage in political activism than return value.” But it’s not just Disney. Many programmes aimed at children – including even Sesame Street – are promoting gender diversity and sexuality for very young children.

Despite the intention of the new Government coalition to review the radical RSE programme in schools, both the Ministry of Education and InsideOut are going full steam ahead, promoting the guidelines, running courses with teachers, and basically 'giving the bird' to the new government and the Minister of Education. The push is on to expand the euthanasia law. We knew it was coming. We knew it was coming when the law was first passed. The slippery slope. But we were told by politicians, the media and the supporters of euthanasia "oh don’t be silly, there’s no slippery slope." It’s taken them less than three years to prove us right.

Despite efforts to 'cancel' the event by activists & some councillors who are only "inclusive" if they agree with you, and who wear pink shirts against bullying except when disagree with you, the conference went ahead with protestors outside for a short time, faeces and urine being thrown on some cops, and the cafe in the venue throwing their toys out of the cot and closing for the day for fear of being.... upset. Here's my very very very controversial speech. Buckle up, my precious.

The name Harrison Butker is trending on social media at the moment. Why? Because the three-time Super Bowl champion NFL kicker who is also a Catholic dared to speak about Catholic teaching at a Catholic school to Catholic students. In the words of Greta Thunberg, "how dare you".

We live in a culture that emphasises personal identity against holistic health – ideology against biology – and we saw a screaming example of that last week when the media trumpeted a tragic case of a teenager who needed counselling and care, not castration and confusion.

The latest abortion statistics make grim and upsetting reading, with a 25% increase in abortions since the decriminalisation of abortion in March 2020 – four years ago. The focus on Maori being able to abort their babies – even late-term – is equally sickening.

There's been a lot of discussion about the UK's CASS review which nailed the final nail in the coffin of sending our vulnerable children down the path of believing they can change their sex. But the NZ media were all keen to push back on the research with a local anecdotal story – and they found one, which they all reprinted word for word. The problem was that it did more to back up the conclusions of the CASS review.

Activist groups and politicians who are desperate to indoctrinate your children with radical sexuality and gender fluidity are concerned about the agreement between National & NZ First to review the curriculum, and they realise that the age-inappropriate programme is on the way out. So they’re doing everything they can to try and stop the the review, and the latest attempt comes from the Mental Health Foundation who should know better.

The justification for confusing, chemicalising and castrating our children in the name of gender ideology is crumbling before our eyes. A major report out of the UK last week has all but nailed the coffin shut on a grand social experiment that should never have happened. Former President Donald Trump’s position on abortion has previously been unclear looking toward the 2024 presidential election, despite the fact that the former president appointed three Supreme Court justices who ultimately made it possible to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022 by a majority vote. He now says each state should follow “the will of the people” and pass state-specific laws on abortion. It’s a pretty clear binary choice for choosing the next President. Trump for Life of the Unborn. Biden for Killing the Unborn.

There is a landmark case that will determine whether sex or gender identity take precedence in law. Tickle v Giggle. Yes it sounds like a comedy – but its actually a very serious and significant case that could have ramifications for New Zealand as to how we define the word 'woman'.

A new report measures how much Kiwis trust the news media, and it has plummeted to a new low. It should actually be a wake-up call to the media if they want to avoid going bust, but it appears their desire to push their own agenda & opinion outweighs their desire to survive. Individually there are some fantastic, committed journalists with integrity. But as an industry it’s on its knees.

One of the problems with the whole push to allow children to try and change their sex through preferred pronouns, puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and ultimately castration of health body parts, is that because it’s a relatively new phenomenon, the trans activists have been able to make outlandish claims – and there really hasn’t been the evidence for us to push back. Those days are well and truly over. The research and the evidence continues to pour in, and there was a really significant study just last week - but the media didn't tell you about it. We will.

The mainstream media, left wing politicians and commentators say that the opposition to sexualised drag queens reading to children in libraries ( but not to elderly people in rest homes, interestingly) is just “imported American culture wars from the far right”. Nothing could be further from the truth. Even the drag queens themselves admit that.

There have been four recent acts of public vandalism. Only one is being treated as a 'hate' crime, and one was even celebrated! If you want to know which ones are crimes, you'll need to ask Greens co-leader Chloe Swarbrick. And that's the problem.

There are calls in the US for the fitness chain Planet Fitness to receive the "Bud Light" treatment after an uproar over its transgender locker room policy created a social media stir. The company revoked the gym membership of an Alaskan woman Patricia Silva who complained about a man shaving in the women’s locker room while a 12-year-old girl wrapped in a towel was present. Will they 'go woke go broke'?

Last Thursday was World Down Syndrome Day – and as part of the celebration they encouraged a #LotsOfSocks day. Did your workplace have a #LotsofSocks day? Probably not. It was about celebrating 'diversity'. Woke media, companies and schools love diversity. Just not this diversity as much as the letters one, sadly.

Angela Pehi-Bellas was asked to sing a waiata at the recent Waitangi Day dawn service. Just sing. But due to traffic she was late, just made it there in time, and didn’t quite get the memo that she was just to sing. When she did get up to share her song, she briefly but powerfully also shared her testimony. The political leaders, the media, and the nation certainly heard that message on Waitangi Day this year - even if it wasn’t on the programme.

Amongst all the issues affecting the US, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have identified the key issue. Is it the border, Hamas terrorism or the threat of Iran, or the concerns about the economy and rocketing petrol and food prices, or Russia’s invasion of Ukraine? Nope – they all pale into significance compared with one thing – abortion - killing the unborn child. It’s one reason why Donald Trump – despite all his shortfalls – is the only option if you’re pro-life.

In the weekend media coverage of Donald Trump's "bloodbath" comments and Winston Peter’s "Nazi Germany" comments, they were misrepresented. They weren’t given with appropriate context. And the outrage to both comments has been inconsistent from the media. If the media were consistently calling out both sides of the debate for the rhetoric, I’d support them. But they’re not. And sadly, they’re paying the price because, like you, I don’t trust them like I used to. Only they can fix that. But it seems they don’t want to.

It was a good week for biology, the medical profession and children with gender dysphoria last week. The narrative that children can change their sex with the aid of social transitioning, puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, chest binders and tucking is exploding before our eyes. Around the world, medical professionals are finally waking up to a radical activist experiment on our most vulnerable children, Unfortunately New Zealand is still to come to the party – courtesy of an atrocious mainstream media who refuse to debate this issue as they protect the radical ideology and its adherents. But we’ll tell you. The house of cards has started to fall.

Despite the widespread wailing about the demise of TVNZ’s Sunday programme due to costs and restructures at the state broadcaster, the show won’t be missed. For too long we have watched coverage of important social issues with such a bias that it's got our blood boiling. It’s part of the reason that trust in media is reaching new lows. We deserve better.

The release of internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) suggests that the guidelines of WPATH are neither scientific nor medical. Today we speak to Dr Carrie Mendoza from GENSPECT (USA) regarding WPATH and what the "WPATH files" means for the future of the gender affirmation model which pushes young people towards trying to change their sex through puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.

ONE OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT EPISODES: Advocates of gender-affirming care say it’s evidence-based. But now, newly released internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) prove that the practice of transgender medicine is neither scientific nor medical. Thousands of doctors worldwide rely on WPATH including our own Ministry of Health Te Whatu Ora – and it's pushed by a group of NZ activists called PATHA. WPATH is considered the leading global authority on gender medicine – but it’s now been exposed as the wild west of western medicine. The NZ government should immediately pause the transing of our young people.

There have been some sports stories which the media have covered – but they’ve covered them in very different ways. It’s very clear that there’s one rule for some, and another rule for others - depending on who they agree with.

Yesterday we talked about the anti-Posie Parker protestor (20) who repeatedly punched a 71 year old woman / grandmother in the head getting discharged without conviction and permanent name suppression. Today, we talk one-on-one with Judith - the victim.

It was a sad day for women yesterday – and for justice. Repeatedly punching a 71 year old woman – a grandmother - will not even get you a conviction. We compare the outcome of this case with two other cases - connected in different ways.

In quite an incredible admission, the previous head of TV3 news Mark Jennings confessed that senior journalists around the country discussed the possibility of the media not reporting Winston Peters if and when he spoke about the Labour government’s $55m public interest journalism fund. But it’s not the first time this type of collusion amongst media has happened. A similar discussion happened when Family First tried to place a full page advertisement asking “what is a woman?”

In his valedictory speech this week, former Australian PM Scott Morrison (ScoMo) called for the nation to return to its Judeo-Christian roots. But the former head of the Australian Christian Lobby Lyle Shelton says “Morrison had 17 years, including three as Prime Minister, to champion these values. Time and time again he let down Christians and conservatives who thought his faith might translate into public and political advocacy for the values he now calls the nation back to.” We speak with Lyle.

In a recent interview on TVNZ"s Q&A, a promoter of hate speech laws – Green MP Chloe Swarbrick – proved to us just how flawed & dangerous hate speech laws would be. This is because 'hate speech' is generally defined by the promoters of such a law, who then use them inconsistently but always to their advantage.

Last week we did a McBLOG on the mainstream media’s obsession with the coalition agreement between National and NZ First which scraps and replaces the controversial and radical RSE curriculum. If you think that what we're saying is all conspiracy theory, think again. The media are proving us to be spot on. And they did it at the weekend.

Over 100 Catholic schools in Cleveland (USA) have set out clear guidelines for sexuality and gender based on Catholic teaching – and they should be music to your ears. The real question is – do NZ faith-based schools adopt similar biblical-based guidelines? If not, why not.

It’s General Election time – and because we operate under an MMP mixed member proportional voting system, the concept of the “wasted vote” always comes up in discussion. Generally the statement is thrown around, something along the lines of, “If your vote is wasted, it goes to another party” – “Another party benefits”. But is this true? We explain how the wasted vote phenomenon works in practice – based on what happened in the General Election in 2020.

It still comes back to you though. You have a choice. They may call it a ‘wasted vote” but it’s not wasted if your goal is to send a message to both the party and to the public in general that you support the principles and policies of that party – even if they don’t get in – this time. On the other hand, you may decide that you don’t want the major parties to get extra seats because of wasted votes – as happened in 2020.

But at least you’ll now know how the system works.

Chris Hipkins turned up to do a speech yesterday. Apparently, it was supposed to be about 'unity' and refusing to talk about the so-called 'culture wars'. Rather than unifying, it was divisive, and focused extensively on the culture wars including the Labour party’s obsession with abortion. Chris Hipkins gave the media the perfect opportunity to rush off to the other nominee for PM - Christopher Luxon - to get a commitment out of Luxon on abortion.

In early 2020, two drag queens sued Australian family advocate Lyle Shelton for “vilification”. His alleged crime was to write a blog that highlighted that drag queens were promoting gender-fluid ideology to children and that they were “dangerous role models” after they appeared at a drag queen story time event for children at a Brisbane City Council library. The drag queens made a complaint to the Queensland Human Rights Commission alleging that his post was vilification because it incited hatred, severe ridicule and serious contempt towards them. We talk to Lyle about the court decision that has just been released.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) is preparing its first ever global guideline on “transgender” medical protocols to fight the rapid spread of bans and restrictions on “transgender” surgeries and drugs, especially for children. In this 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court held that the government cannot force you to say or produce something that violates your religious beliefs. The decision was another good day for freedom, faith and conscience. That’s why the media didn’t like it.

In a new 'pandemic of bonkers', some parents are wanting to raise their children as not baby boys or baby girls but as "theybies" - what is known as “gender creative parenting”. More than 100 people turned up at a meeting with council staff about the issue last week concerned about the policy. We speak to two of the women who are leading the charge on this issue on behalf of many families.

The headline screamed “1 in 4 US teens identify as LGBTQ". But is it accurate – and what does it really mean? In this episode, we analyse the claim, and show that while sexual and gender confusion are increasing, at the same time, the mental health of our young people is deteriorating - not surprisingly. It’s time we spoke the truth about biology and about the biblical standard for sex. For the sake of our young people.

The American Library Association released a list of the 13 most “challenged” books aimed at teens during 2022, blaming ‘anti-LGBT’ prejudice for what it calls censorship. The problem is that all the books contain sexually explicit content and other offensive & objectionable material. It’s not ‘prejudice’ or ‘anti-LGBT’. It’s about protecting young people from explicit, age-inappropriate, offensive and potentially upsetting material.

Last Friday, the Disinformation Project who specialise in reports oozing with disinformation released a new report which argued that questioning gender theory is a form of "genocide". And despite all the images we (and the rest of the world) were horrified to see on that day in Albert Park recently when an elderly woman was punched in the face, and women's campaigner Posie Parker was assaulted, shouted down and hounded out of a public meeting with police protection by a mob, according to the Disinformation Project, it was the mob who were the victims.

In the good old days, you could say statements and wear shirts that say things like 1+1=2, the world is round, the capital of NZ is Wellington, only women can get pregnant, and there are only two genders. Nowadays, it is almost an act of terrorism (except of course if it’s a pink shirt). And you know how upside down the world is when it takes a 12 year old to be bold and call all of this out. But that's exactly what 12-year-old Massachusetts boy Liam Morrison did.

Riley Gaines is a 12 time All-American swimmer with 5 SEC titles and was a successful female swimmer at University of Kentucky with ambitions to pursue a dental degree. That post-graduate ambition and her entire life was changed when she was forced to share a locker room and then compete against a biological male Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championship. She says biological men should not take opportunities for success in sports away from women, and that biological men should not share locker rooms with women.

Many parents are not aware that, while well-intentioned, Pink Shirt Day is being used by activists to indoctrinate gender theory and sexual identity of school children under the guise of anti-bullying programmes, rather than deal appropriately with the issue of school bullying in all its forms which we’re all concerned about. Pink Shirt Day is predominantly, and has always been, about promoting an LGBT-narrative. And they have proved our point by who they used in their promo video for this year’s event.

A lot of people believe that as a centre right party, ACT would be a social conservative party. Aren’t people on the centre right labelled as conservatives? Generally they are. But while ACT are fiscal conservatives wanting less government, lower government spending and more accountability (which is a good thing), they are definitely not social conservatives. And that was confirmed at the weekend. They’re about as socially conservative as a left-wing party, and actually don't like your values.

Here’s two recent media reports (not in the mainstream media of course) which will encourage you and give you hope. Most non-western non-woke countries are concerned about housing, poverty, education – you know, the things that matter. Western countries in the UN including NZ and Australia are obsessed with your sexual orientation and gender identity, and the right to kill the unborn children. But conservative countries are pushing back.

Without any official announcement, the Government is attempting to change the make-up of school boards by inserting into a proposed bill that “…every [school] board should reflect the genders, sexualities, and sexes of the student body of the school and within the community served by the school…” Apparently (!) genders, sexualities, and sexes are all different. None of those terms are defined in the legislation. All schools, including religious schools (and especially Christian ones with biblical Statements of Faith and values in their DNA), will come under increasing pressure to have representatives from LGBTTQIA+++ activist organisations on their board.

The UN seems obsessed with abortion, transgenderism, drugs & prostitution. The Growing Up in New Zealand longitudinal study (GUiNZ) is New Zealand’s largest ongoing cohort study. It is research which is so important and could have significant value – but, it’s been captured by gender ideologues and activists. Well, not too well. And once again, NZ is the focus of the international media, for all the wrong reasons.

A Methodist Bible college in the UK has hit the headlines for sacking a Christian lecturer over tweets defending a Christian view of sexuality. Dr Aaron Edwards was sacked for misconduct by Cliff College in Derbyshire and was told that for sharing a Christian understanding of sexuality, he had brought the Methodist college "into disrepute." He was also threatened with being reported to Prevent (the anti-radicalisation unit). We meet Dr Edwards and hear his story.

Marama Davidson, who is also Green Party co-leader, is facing flak from political opponents. They’re calling for her to resign after making comments on Saturday when questioned at a trans rights rally in Auckland, which acted as a counter-protest to a speaking event by British activist Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull - also known as “Posie Parker”. She says she didn’t quite mean what she said. Nope – she meant it, because she believes it.

Violence instead of Free Speech in NZ. British gender activist Posie Parker has left New Zealand, calling it the ‘worst place for women she has ever visited’. She left her rally at Albert Park in Auckland on Saturday without speaking, after being overwhelmed by thousands of heckling counter-protesters who broke the barriers, doused her with tomato juice, and the mob then hounding the event out of a public space. It was a sad day for free speech, and an atrocious day for women who simply want to stand up for their rights. We talk to free speech advocate and supporter of Speak Up For Women Ani O’Brien who was at the event at Albert Park.

Josh Alexander, a 16-year-old student at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Canada, was suspended recently for expressing objections to the school’s transgender bathroom policy which allows males identifying as transgender girls to use bathrooms designated for females. It’s not the first case where a religious school has lost sight of their founding document and ended up penalising their own.

The $2.2m taxpayer-funded complaints centre set up by the Human Rights Commission for receiving complaints about ‘conversion therapy’ has admitted that there have been no formal complaints about ‘conversion therapy’ since the new law was passed, despite significant advertising about its services. In fact, there weren't any for the 10 years before the law either. This is a law looking for a problem that doesn't exist. But we all knew that.

He expected the news media to report both sides of the debate evenly and let the public make up their minds. What he experienced was the complete opposite. It's a fascinating insight as to what happened during the lead-up to the Referendum.

How can we celebrate "International Women's Day" today when it can't be defined correctly. If you define a woman biologically – an adult human female – you immediately destroy gender ideology. And because gender theory is not rooted in reality but in ideology, it trips up at the most basic question. What is a woman?

At the end of 2021, biology got voted out of parliament. Every party in Parliament (yes - even National & ACT) voted for a law that renders birth certificates as meaningless and which continues the relentless push to nullify biological sex and the scientific accuracy of male and female. But for some reason, Maori 'identifying' as Tahine, Whakawahine and Whakatane won't be allowed. But doesn't self-identification mean that there are no limits on the terminology? There's already 112 genders - apparently. Why not more?

At the height of the 2020 Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots in downtown Chicago, Juan Riesco, co-owner of Nini’s Deli, was pressured to proclaim support of BLM. But Juan is a Christian and could not endorse the anti-Christian anti-family pro-abortion beliefs of the Black Lives Matter organisation. Census forms arrived to most kiwis this week. Before you fill out the form, you need to figure out your sex at birth - and then your gender. Apparently... they’re totally different. The census is an exercise in radical gender ideology by Stats NZ.

Last year we reported to you that Washington University IT department had joined other university IT departments around the country to replace racist, sexist, ageist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise non-inclusive language. Stanford University has now joined the woke brigade, Their list of banned words came out last May but in December, after the index came to light on social media, Stanford hid it from public view. Has Disney lost its way? Many Disney fans have noticed a sharp increase in the company’s political and social activism. A new documentary by the Catholic League reveals how Disney pushes an activist agenda and sexual ideology through children’s movies, cartoons and public political battles.

Family First has just released a new report which calculates that the fiscal cost to the taxpayer of family breakdown and decreasing marriage rates has been estimated at around $2 billion (around $520 per taxpayer) in 2020-2021. The cost has doubled since 2008-9 when the fiscal cost was just $1 billion or $300 per taxpayer. Over the last twelve years the total cost would be in the order of $21 billion. So not only does family breakdown impact adults and children both emotionally and financially, but it also costs taxpayers in helping repair the breakdown. Perhaps we should invest in strengthening marriages and families.

The Associated Press (or AP as you will see on many articles in mainstream media in NZ) is a global news organisation, and is also notably the stylebook used by many news outlets, and it influences how many journalists choose to word and frame various issues. The Associated Press recently put out updated abortion guidelines – called an “Abortion Topical Guide” for journalists — guidance which pro-lifers say “demonstrates even further the extent of the media’s bias in favour of abortion.” You will see how they want to change the language to manipulate the narrative.

It’s pretty clear to most people that if you have a Christian faith and hold biblical values – especially around marriage, abortion and sexuality, you are public enemy #1 and must be shut down. It's no longer possible to sit on the fence and expect reasonableness and tolerance. The new religion of "Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DIE)" only goes in one direction – and it’s definitely not in yours and mine. Here's three recent examples.

Matthew Grech, a christian charity worker in Malta, faces potential fines and imprisonment for allegedly falling afoul of his country's ban on "conversion practices" when he explained to a local media outlet last year how he left homosexuality behind because he came to believe it was wrong. Matthew’s case and the actions of Malta (which NZ's law was partly modelled on) are exactly what the activists want – and you’re dreaming if you think that this won’t happen in NZ. But as our speaker from last year’s Forum on the Family Joe Dallas said, you can ban “conversion therapy” but you’ll never be able to ban conversion.

One of the disturbing aspects around the whole gender identity debate and the push for gender affirming treatment for young people – i.e. puberty blockers, wrong sex hormones and the castration of healthy body parts – is that no dissent is allowed. Even medical professionals are scared to speak up. That was admitted in an article in the NZ Listener last September by Charlotte Paul, emeritus professor in the Department of Preventative and Social Medicine at the University of Otago. But a whistle blower in the US has now spoken out. It’s an article which is unlikely to be reprinted in our mainstream media – so we'll share it with you.

Last November we highlighted a case from Canada where a popular fashion brand Simons posted a video entitled "All Is Beauty". It tells the tale of a woman who has opted for euthanasia. It’s an attempt to normalise and even glamorise euthanasia in a country where the slippery slope is well and truly greased. BUT there’s a twist to the story which actually highlights the real danger of euthanasia. And, ironically, David Seymour also recently confirmed that danger.

The mainstream media’s focus on the liberalisation of drug laws continues. Many of them have never got over the shock that a majority of NZers voted no to legalising cannabis in the 2020 referendum. Because a political leader who had championed and voted for a number of aspects of radical social engineering, especially against our most vulnerable - the unborn, had stepped down. Hayley lasted one term because she quickly realised just how harmful and confusing the material was for young people. (Her husband resigned even before he got into the classroom!) The problem with legalising assisted suicide and euthanasia is that something that was previously NOT an option is now clearly an option – it’s normalised. We show you how it's even being promoted by a Canadian fashion retailer to look wonderful. We also show you the story of a Canadian who earlier this year launched a landmark lawsuit alleging that health officials will not provide him with an assisted home care team of his choosing, instead offering, among other things, assisted suicide. He even has the audio to prove it.

Apparently we all need to determine and display our personal pronouns. If you work for a woke government service or organisation, then you’ll be pressured and maybe even mandated to state what your personal pronouns are. The only evidence that needs to be provided in order to prove that someone is non-binary and has different pronouns is... they say it. So those are the rules. Pronouns matter – except when it doesn't suit the narrative.

You’ll remember our McBlog episode last week on yet another media hit-job on Bethlehem College - a successful school with values and a waiting list for enrolments. But within a few hours of publishing, the media outlet Stuff had to make a major retraction. Since then there’s been further developments on that particular story – and last weekend the NZ Media Council had to again hand out a rebuke to Stuff on yet another hit-job on a similar issue. The actions and comments by Stuff and the judgment by Media Council will amuse, surprise, and possibly even anger you.

There were some interesting stats out last week – but for some reason the media didn’t want to know about it and definitely didn’t want to report it. But we will. Guess what - cannabis use has fallen since the Referendum Debate ended. Yep – dope smoking is on the decrease, and that’s a reason to celebrate.

The “Mates & Dates” programme in schools is an ACC programme for children 13 years up, and sold as a programme around healthy relationships, the harms of drugs and alcohol, and keeping safe together. What we’ve found is that it is linked closely to the Ministry of Education’s radical sexuality & gender ideology. We were contacted by a mum concerned by what her 13-year-old daughter told her after sitting through just one class of “Mates and Dates”.

We speak to Professor Paul Moon from AUT about the significant backdown by the Government over the proposed hate speech laws. What does the proposed law now mean, should we be concerned that hate speech laws may be inserted elsewhere in other laws, and where to from here?

TVNZ's Sunday programme was back with yet another anti-family narrative. This week, it was “don’t have babies – the environment can’t handle them”. Ironically, their own experts either countered that narrative, or didn’t follow their own advice! But New Zealand's disturbingly low fertility rate is an important issue about the future of NZ that we do need to talk about - but in a balanced and sensible way. Not surprisingly, Sunday programme certainly didn't do justice to that.

At the same time as the government was making noises about hate speech laws, the government state broadcaster TVNZ coincidentally featured a documentary called “Web of Chaos” funded by you - via NZ on Air, and featuring the Disinformation Project. The problem is that there is a clear underlying left wing anti-family narrative and ideology which clouds their judgement. They clearly disagree with a morally conservative or traditional Christian worldview. We show two (hilarious) clips to confirm this.

NZ has had legal assisted suicide / euthanasia for a year now, so we take a look at the latest statistics. The overseas experience in the small number of countries that allow assisted suicide is that there is an inevitable push to extend such a ‘human right’ to a greater number of people, such as those with chronic conditions, disabilities, mental illness, those simply ‘tired of life’, or even children. Just 12 months on, those calls are already being made in New Zealand.

Bethlehem College is back in the news again. Apparently – apparently - their school counselor has been accused of bullying and 'transphobia'. It’s yet another media hit-job on a successful school with values and a waiting list for enrollments. But within a few hours, the media outlet had to make a major and embarrassing retraction. We fact-check the whole article.

In a survey by Curia Market Research and commissioned by Family First NZ, 1,000 respondents were asked to name the three biggest issues that they are concerned about. However, unlike other similar polls, the respondents were given a blank sheet with no ‘suggestions’ of what might be a concern. This makes the survey unique in that there is no leading question. It is specifically what is top of mind for families in New Zealand at the moment.

There are continued calls from drug advocates in NZ to decriminalise drugs and to adopt a ‘health approach’. We only need to look overseas to see what a social disaster it would be – Scotland, Oregon, San Francisco. The Drug Foundation recently trumpeted Vancouver as a good example. But is it? One of the most beautiful cities in North America has been beset by skyrocketing crime, violent attacks, and a crippling battle with addiction, based on a flawed ‘harm reduction’ method which ignores the harsh reality of normalising drug use.

The Midwifery Council of NZ has revised its midwifery scope of practice guidelines to entirely remove the words “woman” and “mother”, because of "the need for a radical transformation of the health system, including midwifery”. "Radical" is correct. "Biologically tone deaf" would be another description, as would "woke stupidity". But aren’t they just following the wokeness of the government’s Ministry of Health?

The Ministry of Health has just released the latest abortion statistics. One positive is that it uses the word “women” six times – so that’s progress because only women can get pregnant, but let’s take a look at the latest trends – just over two years on from when our politicians decriminalised abortion and introduced one of the most liberal and extreme laws in the world. You’ll be disturbed by the cheerleading for abortion being done by the so-called ‘health’ ministry. ‘Health’ - but only for some.

WPATH stands for The World Professional Association for Transgender Health. WPATH 'guidelines' are considered the gold standard for the field of health care for those diagnosed with gender dysphoria. But critics say that WPATH cites flawed, cherry-picked studies to support their conclusions, and betrays a strong bias toward studies promoting social and medical transition, and ignoring detransitioning and desistance. They're also at odds with a growing number of medical professionals and groups around the world who are sounding growing concern around the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgery on young people. Why should this concern you? It's because transgender research and policy in New Zealand comes out of the University of Waikato’s Transgender Health Research Lab. Unfortunately, the unit is driven by activists and an agenda, and the director just happens to be on the Executive Committee of WPATH.

The Ministry of Health quietly changed their advice last week on the safety of puberty blockers. It's a stunning turnaround, especially when the rest of the world is sounding growing caution around the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgery for young people who have gender dysphoria. It's time New Zealand adopted a do-no-harm approach rather than cowtowed to gender activists. It’s time we had watchful waiting, therapy, and healing of the mind - rather than chemicals and castration.

We need more men to speak up for human rights. The human rights of the unborn little girl or boy. Men who lead, protect, and are not intimidated by the abortion supporters saying that men cannot have a voice when it comes to the topic of abortion! Like this guy......

In last week’s edition of the NZ Listener was an essay by Charlotte Paul, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the University of Otago. In the article, she rightly argued that because other countries have reviewed their use of puberty blockers for young people, New Zealand should also. She also said that she was writing the article because her colleagues were too afraid of potentially damaging their reputations by speaking up. And that tells you everything about the toxicity of gender activists pushing a dangerous agenda on our young people.

One of the major concerns around the assisted suicide / euthanasia law is that the law relies on a diagnosis that a person suffers from a terminal illness which is “likely” to end his or her life within six months. But there’s a problem with that. A major problem. We are not God (even though some people would like to think they are.) There are many examples of individuals who have outlived their prognoses – sometimes by months, even years.

Disney describes the storyline as follows: “Thirteen years after being impregnated by Satan, a reluctant mother and her Antichrist daughter attempt to live an ordinary life.” Listen to what warnings from a New York pastor, a US congressman, and and Dr. Ted Baehr, a Hollywood mainstay and the founder of Movieguide. This is no longer a game.

Over the past couple of weeks, we've been exposing just how extreme and harmful the sexuality and gender ideology is in schools. It's been sanctioned by the Ministry of Education with the support of radical groups like Family Planning and RainbowYouth. But parents have started to speak up and voice their concerns and objections. And the results have been superb. Have you spoken with your school yet?

We’re told that if we don’t ‘affirm’ young people with gender dysphoria towards puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, that they will suffer mental harm. But detransitioners are painting a very different picture. Transitioning leads to both physical and mental harm. This case (amongst a growing list of examples) proves that.

In 2020, UNICEF ranked New Zealand last of 38 developed countries in child mental well-being. And when you look at the data, it’s pretty depressing reading. NZ has the worst youth suicide, self-harm and bullying statistics. Mental disorders have risen significantly, as has consumption of antidepressants and anti-psychotics. These increases are above what is occurring in the general population. We’ve just released a report on it.

The transgender propaganda continues – and the worst part is that it is exploiting and harming very young vulnerable children. It's coming not just from the media and gender activists, but even from children's hospitals and some mainline denominations. No wonder our children are confused. Adults who should know better have lost their way and forgotten biological truth.

Exposed - Concerned mum warns other parents about radical sex education (propaganda) in New Zealand schools. We were alerted to some highly offensive sex education material that had been shared with a class of 11-12 year olds. It was so shocking that some of you rightly thought surely this can’t be true. We speak to one of the parents whose 12 year old daughter - along with her classmates - were exposed to this material. She's not the only parent who has contacted us - and it's not the only school either!

Earlier this week, we sent out a new Fact Sheet that we had developed exposing the radical sexuality and gender fluidity indoctrination that activists and the Ministry of Education want in as many schools as possible. Let's not leave the door open for our children to be taught about sexuality and gender theory by the voices of people whose agendas and values don’t align with ours. It’s time to push back – for the sake of our children.

We highlight a new Family First resource just released on the new 'conversion therapy' law. It’s a guide for parents, pastors and counsellors as to what the law says and its implications. We’ve also gone to a leading public law lawyer for advice and we include their legal advice in the Fact Sheet. To be frank, it’s fairly disturbing reading. While gender and sexuality is supposedly ‘fluid’, activists want the law to stipulate that it can only go in the direction they approve. Yet again, the state wants to dictate how you raise your children, and even how you live your life.

Clara was the result of a teen pregnancy outside of wedlock. She is very thankful her mother chose life - her life. But as she watched the media coverage of the recent and momentous Roe v Wade decision in the US Supreme Court, it quickly became evident that virtually all the mainstream media in New Zealand were furious with the decision, were strongly pro-abortion, and that anyone like Clara and millions of others who hold the view that the unborn child has a right to life, and that abortion harms both the child and the mother, should be silenced – and that their view meant nothing. And an in-depth analysis of the media coverage backs up her perception of the coverage. It found that the significant media coverage by the NZ mainstream media was very heavily bias (82%) to a pro-abortion narrative.

The Government along with the Greens and Maori Party have scrapped the Three Strikes Law in the middle of a crime wave of gangs, guns and ram raids. Did they have a public mandate to do it? And what type of criminal is actually being caught under the law? Nick Tuitasi also gives an amusing demonstration of how a 3-strike law works.

In the midst of a crime wave involving gang turf battles, gun crimes and violent ram raids, the Government along with the Greens and the Maori Party have responded by scrapping the law that specifically targets repeat violent offenders - all of whom have a track record even before getting caught. In a previous issue of Family Matters, Bob presented the evidence for why the law is working and should have been retained.

The first official report on the assisted suicide law in NZ has been released. It only covers the first five months of the law, so it's difficult to determine any trends. But what has been interesting is the comments made by euthanasia supporters about the law already needing to be expanded to allow for even non-terminal patients to access it. And the media only seems to want to tell us the 'good' stories about assisted suicide - but they ignore the 'not-so-happy' ones.

Remember the claims made by pro-drug activists in support of cannabis legalisation in New Zealand. According to the Government, the Green Party, NZ Drug Foundation and Helen Clark Foundation, we were supposed believe that legalising recreational cannabis would lead to significant health benefits, reduced black market, no increase in usage, reduction in mental health issues, reduced crime and so on. Thankfully, the majority of us weren’t fooled into believing this, and voted No. And there is continued mounting evidence refuting those pro-cannabis claims. Here's five key ones just from the last month.

Jeannette Cooper, a former teacher and now a Ph.D. candidate in education at DePaul University, never imagined she’d lose custody of her child. But when, at age 12, Sophia suddenly claimed to be transgender, Jeannette was skeptical. But Sophia insisted, not only that she was trans, but that she was ‘unsafe’ around Jeannette. What followed was a disturbing series of court proceedings and therapy sessions. Nearly three years later, Jeannette can’t even visit with the daughter she loves, but can only communicate with Sophia by U.S. Mail. All because she insists that Sophia is a girl.

On the back of two great decisions last week including the closing of the Tavistock transgender clinic in the UK, and the US FDA slapping a warning label on puberty blockers, Californian teenager Chloe tells her story of puberty blockers at 13, a double mastectomy at 15. And why she detransitioned back to her biological sex.

It appears that we may be reaching the tipping point in the transgender agenda which is harming and confusing so many young people. Two key things happened last week which the NZ media didn’t seem that keen to talk about. But we are. One is the shutting down of the UK's Tavistock transgender clinic after a review found it is "not safe" for children. The other is the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the USA issuing a warning label about the risk of puberty blockers. Will common sense finally prevail?

According to new polling, families are struggling to pay for essential items such as petrol, food and utilities. They’re also concerned about the effects the cost of living crisis is having on their communities. If families are expected to meet their budget, be accountable for what they spend, and not waste money, shouldn’t the government also?

The gospel of diversity, inclusion and equality (DIE) fails before it begins because contrary to its claim of 'diversity, inclusion and equality', the diverse opinion that there are biblical beliefs around sexuality, male and female, and marriage must be shut down. This new sexual and gender identity is so fragile it must be reinforced by the state. It must be rammed down by the media. It must be mandated by woke businesses.

Our children are back to school for the start of term 3. But are they going to be educated or indoctrinated - and is that indoctrination just in schools? Where is this gender ideology ultimately coming from?

To Jack Tame’s credit (and to the mainstream media’s shame), it’s one of the few times that this viewpoint has been allowed to be expressed in the media since the overturning of Roe.

Current events programmes should be balanced and present both sides so that viewers can come to their own conclusion – based on the evidence and the arguments & counter arguments. But TVNZ’s Sunday programme isn’t too good at this. In their episode on drug testing last weekend, what Sunday programme didn’t do was allow the contrary view – the view opposing drug testing. The view which says that drug testing simply allows drug takers to play Russian roulette with their lives and that there is no such thing as a safe drug. Watch the view that Sunday programme didn’t want you to see.

Gang-related shootings, stabbings and the use of firearms in general – including against our police – have become disturbingly normal. Firearm-related offences are nearly double that of just 10 years ago. And family violence is also sadly on the increase. Family First has released a short video clip to highlight the urgency of this issue. The focus always seems to be on the interest and well-being of the criminal and no mention of the rights and welfare of victims. It’s time we stopped being soft on crime, because crime is tough on families.

“Family First is being deregistered for engaging in the democratic process. It has not broken any laws”. Yet more expert opinion, expressing concerns about the court ruling to de-register Family First. Sue Barker is a barrister and solicitor, and expert in charities law. She says: “if Family First can be deregistered for engaging in the democratic process, my concern is that any charity can be” … “what we are really undermining is our democracy”.

The Supreme Court has supported the decision by the Government to deregister Family First as a charity. This is after the Government appealed an earlier decision (2020) by the Court of Appeal in favour of Family First retaining its charitable status. There have been four court cases over the last decade attempting to resolve this issue. The reasoning behind the Supreme Court overruling the decision of the Court of Appeal, and the justification for deregistering Family First, should concern anyone who values free speech and traditional / conservative views around family & marriage.

Sporting codes around the world are starting to wake up to the fact that biology matters in sports, and that fairness should be given more weight than the wokeness of ‘inclusion’. It’s been a good week for sports - and especially for female competitors.

The media already has an issue of trust. Here's an episode on both dodgy research and dodgy media 'reporting'... A recent Stuff article on the conversion therapy bill was taken to the Media Council who agreed with a number of concerns about the accuracy and integrity of both the research quoted and the reporting of it. It’s a good example of the media tripping over their own ideology to push a narrative. It’s also a good example of dodgy research by activists.

Drug advocates in NZ want a decriminalisation and health approach to drug use, yet ironically this approach does not appear to be favoured by many drug users. The number of drug users wanting to engage with the Government’s recommended health referral service is "abysmally low". We also only need to look overseas at recent examples of this policy approach to see what liberalised drug laws actually look like in reality.

The woke are looking for any children's books that don’t tick the critical theory intersectionality boxes of race, ethnicity, gender, LGBTQ identity or some other minority identity. And the list of naughty naughty books is growing! "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", "Hairy Maclary" and "The Tiger Who Came to Tea" are now being targeted.

The NZ Herald article read “Serial sperm donor Kyle Gordy will soon have 58 kids - and is coming to NZ”. The article was a good example of everything that can go wrong with sperm donation. Despite the greatest intentions of the lawmakers, there’s no mandate that a donor is to be involved - or will want to be involved - in the child’s life. It may still effectively be anonymous, except for the disclosure of some of their genetic origin. But children have a deep longing to know who they belong to, where they come from, and who they look like. It's time we put their rights front and center in this discussion.

June 2022: The Law Commission has just released its review of surrogacy laws in New Zealand, and argues that surrogacy and sperm & egg donation is a legitimate form of family building that requires a specific legal framework to promote and protect the rights and interests of surrogate-born children, surrogates and intended parents. There’s also a private members bill by Labour MP Tamati Coffey to make surrogacy easier which is currently before a Select Committee. But the question that nobody seems to be asking is - should we be making surrogacy and sperm donation “easier”? Are we truly considering the rights of the child?

What is it like to find out that your true biological father’s only involvement in your life was the donation of his sperm? How do you deal with the feeling of loss and rejection from your biological mother who is labelled as your ‘surrogate’ or ‘gestational carrier’? Is it normal that when you see someone who resembles you, you wonder if they are related? Can you be blamed for feeling disturbed that some money or a contract may have been involved in your conception? What if the biological parent or parents don’t want any contact?

Popular American comedian Bill Maher who says he is an avowed atheist has joined others from the left in raising concerns about the 'transgender trend' – especially as it relates to our children. When even socially liberal people are questioning something which has always been labelled 'bigoted' and 'transphobic' if you dare oppose, then it’s worth checking out and listening to – because they’re a brave person to challenge their own.

With the possibility that the atrocious Roe v Wade case - which has resulted in millions of unborn US children being killed in the womb - may be overturned, the Democrats attempted to introduce a new law to supersede the possible Supreme Court decision. But the proposed law was more extreme than Roe v Wade, and very similar to another country’s liberal & radical abortion law. Guess whose.

The book allegorically compares being transgender to pretending to be a walrus, but Amazon staff have been 'traumatised' by it and want to see it banned from the platform altogether.

According to Duke University, "queerness" is now LGBTQQIP2SAA - lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, pansexual, two-spirit (2S), androgynous and asexual. So when they say “adding queerness”, it’s the indoctrination of all these things. Remember, we’re talking about indoctrinating children. But it's not just Disney that parents need to be monitoring.

Significantly, she says "It used to be that I was the one furthest to the left in any newsroom, occasionally causing strain in story meetings with my views on issues like the housing crisis. I am now easily the most conservative, frequently sparking tension by questioning identity politics. This happened in the span of about 18 months. My own politics did not change."

The NZ media are showing a selective silence on some key issues. Even ex-journalists are expressing concern.

The broadcasting watchdog (BSA) has said that they no longer will consider complaints of bias against a broadcaster. All the broadcaster has to argue is that the other side of the debate 'might' be heard on another programme or on another broadcasting platform. But kiwis are concerned that the media are not always reporting the fact, but rather, pushing their own narrative. Now that accountability is even less.

If the Broadcasting Standards Authority didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all. Their hypocrisy and flawed thinking is exposed in their latest policy statement.
