There was a ‘dump’ of 2023 census data yesterday by government agency Stats NZ. It should be based on biological reality and observable data - but Stats NZ is more keen to push gender & sexuality ideology & fabricated data. We show you just how confused they are.
With the influence that the President and vice-President can have on the direction of our culture and the values that we hold as a society, even here in NZ, we need to know just who the candidates are, their values, and what direction they will indirectly lead the world in. Where do they stand on the issues that matter to us – life, marriage, family, religious freedom. What is their agenda in the areas of identity politics (LGBTQ++), gender ideology, critical theory, environmental alarmism, drugs, abortion, euthanasia, social engineering and many others.
We've covered Tim Walz, JD Vance and Kamala Harris. In this episode, its Donald Trump.
"I will always put policy above personality – IF I can’t have both." - Bob McCoskrie
The PPTA Te Wehengarua Annual Conference 2024 is happening this week. And as expected, there’s some wacky things being suggested – especially around identity politics and gender ideology – because that’s all some teachers seem to care about. Not the maths, reading and writing as most parents are expecting.
With the influence that the President and vice-President can have on the direction of our culture and the values that we hold as a society, even here in NZ, we need to know just who the candidates are, their values, and what direction they will indirectly lead the world in. What is their agenda in the areas of identity politics (LGBTQ++), gender ideology, critical theory, environmental alarmism, drugs, abortion, euthanasia, social engineering and many others.
Yesterday was JD Vance and the day before was Tim Walz. Today we focus on Kamala Harris…

Recently we have been responding to some woke research and surveys. One was a survey from Massey University about whether Principals were indoctrinating their children with InsideOut material, and the second was the study from Victoria University in Wellington which was trying to practice conversion therapy on Bob and make him more loving and accepting of paedophilia. It didn’t work. Today we do a survey from Western Sydney University about the inclusion of transgender and gender diverse (TGD) health in the medical curriculum across NZ and Australia. This should be fun.
The new Government is super-keen to ram through a law making surrogacy way more easier. The question that nobody is asking: Should we be making surrogacy and sperm / egg donation “easier”? We will ask that question. We.'ll also show you some disturbing examples of the commodification of children, and how the rights of children are not being considered.
According to Kamala Harris and the pro abortion mainstream media, women are dying in the US because pro-life laws don’t allow abortion on demand. Last week, in an attempt to try and bolster their argument, they were jumping on the tragic cases of two women who died in Georgia. But here’s what most of the media won’t tell you about these two sad cases. These women died after attempting chemical or so-called “medication abortions.” But that didn’t stop the abortion lobby and the media blaming… Trump.
The agenda of the once great NZ Herald is becoming very clear – and for those who weren’t sure, this week removed any doubt. In a specifically child-focused section on the newspaper website, they featured a 7-year-old child in stilettos pushing catwalking, crossdressing and even some twerking. Who needs drag queens in libraries to indoctrinate our children when we have the NZ Herald.
A ‘study’ by Victoria University says that reducing stigma towards people with a sexual attraction to children (aka "paedophile") is important for mitigating the negative consequences of stigma towards their 'orientation'. Bob enrolled in the survey and started the ‘conversion therapy’. Did it work on him?
We’ve been sent a survey which has been sent to primary school principals around NZ by an “Educational Psychologist and Senior Lecturer” at Massey University. One principal told us “Most primary school principals and school communities.. do not see it as age appropriate to be promoting policies of gender & sexuality at a primary school level.”. We analyse this latest academic push on primary schools under the guise of a 'survey'.
Activists and academics want to play linguistic gymnastics with the term “paedophile”. The movement is even going so far as to claim that paedophilia should be understood as a sexual 'orientation' and that the ‘stigma’ is making the paedophile the ‘victim’. The danger is that trying to destigmatise morally eroded behaviour generally ends up normalising it. In this episode, we examine the history of this movement and some of the key players.
Just over a month ago, the Royal Commission’s final report, Whanaketia – through pain and trauma, from darkness to light, was presented to Parliament and published on the Royal Commission’s website. It was a disturbing read as we learnt about the extent of sexual abuse – especially of minors – in both state care and religious institutions. It is therefore especially galling and sickening that coming so soon after this, one of NZ’s major universities – Victoria University in Wellington – appeared to be rebranding paedophiles as ‘victims’ of stigma whose only guilt was having a sexual ‘preference’ or ‘orientation’.
As a champion of rescuing small bugs like daddy long-legs, cockroaches and small spiders from my daughters' screaming, it seems fitting that my personal pronouns should now be hu/hu. But former Green MP Darleen Tana just changes hers back-and-forth - all within the space of a month. Was that all a joke?
1News claims that “comments that are discriminatory or harmful will not be tolerated” on their social media accounts. We do a fact check - and find that it often depends on who the comments are aimed at.
We highlight two recent fascinating interviews from the USA regarding the left wing bias of CNN, and two news media examples from New Zealand, which show why trust in the media being balanced and fair is at an all-time low. But what's most interesting is that even the political left are getting sick of the bias.
You've probably all heard of disgraced Green MP Darleen Tana. Tana left the Green Party in July, when it received the findings of an independent investigation into her knowledge of migrant worker exploitation allegations at her husband’s bike shop. But it's not her treatment by the Green Party that should be causing significant emotional harm. It's actually the misgendering. The problem is trying to figure out who's doing the misgendering.
The Government has just appointed some new Human Rights Commissioners. The problem is that they believe in free speech, believe that only a woman can be a woman, and a few other unacceptable views. But according to the cultural elites like Helen Clark, you can only hold views that the cultural elite agree with. Human rights.... for some.
Project 2025 report was unveiled in April 2023 by the Heritage Foundation and supported by 100+ conservative organisations, but left-wing opposition to the document exploded when Trump took the lead over Biden in the polling earlier this year. The NZ media have also attacked it - including just this week by the taxpayer-funded Radio NZ. We do a fact-check. You can probably guess the result!
Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota governor Tim Walz as her running mate. You’ve probably never heard of him. Neither have I. But he could be the next Vice-President alongside Kamala Harris as President. Could! So you do need to get to know him – and what you learn should deeply trouble you.
In this slightly longer-than-usual episode, we check out US Presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ legacy, policies, and what may happen if she becomes the next President. It's quite an eye-opener.
Last week I was in Washington DC and with all the shenanigans going on with Biden stepping down from the Democrat nomination and Kamala Harris becoming the heir apparent, there was also the visit from the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netenyahu. Netanyahu's visit was his first since before former President Donald Trump left office in 2020, and he addressed a joint session of Congress last Wednesday afternoon. You deserve to hear all sides of this issue – not just what the mainstream media feeds you.
Have you heard of DEI – it stands for Diversity Equity and Inclusion. The problem is that it’s anything but that. The argument was that it would improve profitability for businesses. It doesn't. And now businesses are going back to focusing on.... customers. What a great idea!
Ohio Senator JD Vance has been announced as the running mate for Donald Trump at the upcoming presidential election in November. He’s only been in the Senate since 2022. But this means he could be the next Vice President of the USA. So who is JD Vance- and is he a friend or foe of social conservatives?
Near-death experiences can change a person's perspective on life. Did we see that with Trump's speech at the recent Republican National Convention? And more importantly, will it continue. Trump also pays appropriate tribute to a heroic dad who lost his life protecting his family.
Michael Geer is the founding President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Family Institute – an organisation similar to Family First in NZ. Today we speak to him about the disturbing event in his home state, his family connection to the area where it happened, the mood in the US, and the impact on the upcoming elections in November.
Do you remember when NZ First and Winston Peters suggested that toilets should get back to basics of male and female because women simply didn’t want biological men in their toilets – no matter who they thought they were - and he was told that nobody is thinking about toilets. They were wrong and Winston was right. The Ministry of Education are obsessed with school toilets – and with urinals – and with signage - and most importantly, with gender ideology. Their latest policy document proves that.
The first presidential debate last week featured President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. While most of the debate focus has been on President Biden’s confusion and his often-muddled delivery, there were nonetheless key moments on policy, especially abortion.
Are the left starting to turn on themselves? Have liberals had enough of their own wokeness? More and more of them are leaving US states that push a liberal woke worldview because they're seeing the consequences. The woke are awokening!
It’s time some senior politicians including Chris Hipkins, Chris Bishop and Willie Jackson manned up on the transgender issue and protected female sports rather than listening to 'theologian' and head of Sports NZ Raelene Castle. Sports should be focused on biology because that means safety and fairness come first. Transgender people do have a basic human right to play sport, in their biological sex as has been done since at least 1745. We analyse the weak responses made last week by these MPs.
Has Disney finally figured out that wokeness leads to brokenness, and have decided to return to founder Walt Disney’s dream of entertaining families. Possibly.
The NZ First-led coalition agreement made it a policy to potentially withhold public funding from New Zealand sports bodies if they do not comply with a requirement to separate transgender athletes from grassroots competitions (I.e. preventing biological men from competing against girls and women in grassroots sports). According to the NZ Herald this morning, the coalition government has backtracked on this and will just 'watch' the issue. But have they? We talk to Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters, leader of NZ First. We also touch on puberty blockers for children, and the RSE guidelines in schools.
According to the NZ Herald this morning, the coalition government has backtracked on restricting male and female sports teams to be based on biological sex only. But have they? We talk to Ro Edge from Save Women's Sports Australasia.
Has Disney finally figured out that wokeness leads to brokenness, and have decided to return to founder Walt Disney’s dream of entertaining families. Possibly.
The cultural left want to destroy the nuclear family and one of their strategies is to redefine the language. The attack on the definition of marriage transitioned (pardon the pun!) to the attack on gender. And then the definition of 'woman'. And now its an attack on…. the cervix. And whether men can have one.
Today’s episode of McBlog is an interview with abortion survivor Melissa Ohden, who will be speaking at our upcoming Forum on the Family 2024.
The Forum on the Family is one of the premier family conferences held each year with international and national speakers and political leaders. This year’s conference will again be held at the Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau City on Friday 5th July which is just over three weeks away. There is also a gala dinner the night before on Thursday 4th. This year’s theme is Protecting the next Generation. It’s time for all of us to push back against the harmful agendas and ideologies being targeted at our children – including the ones in the womb.
Once again we have an amazing lineup of speakers from the US, Australia and NZ. And this week – in a special series of McBLOG, we want to introduce you to four of the key speakers who we had a chance to have a quick interview with. Today, it’s abortion survivor Melissa Ohden.

Today, it’s 19 year old Chloe Cole.
The new Disney “Star Wars” show, “The Acolyte.” has been promoted as the gayest “Star Wars” show yet. A commenter wrote, “Disney keeps doubling down because it would rather engage in political activism than return value.” But it’s not just Disney. Many programmes aimed at children – including even Sesame Street – are promoting gender diversity and sexuality for very young children.
Despite the intention of the new Government coalition to review the radical RSE programme in schools, both the Ministry of Education and InsideOut are going full steam ahead, promoting the guidelines, running courses with teachers, and basically 'giving the bird' to the new government and the Minister of Education. We also show you the shocking training materials that InsideOut use.
The push is on to expand the euthanasia law. We knew it was coming. We knew it was coming when the law was first passed. The slippery slope. But we were told by politicians, the media and the supporters of euthanasia "oh don’t be silly, there’s no slippery slope." It’s taken them less than three years to prove us right.
If you spoke up against the Relationships and Sexuality Education curriculum over the past 12 months – then all we can say is – thank you! You have been heard. There has been huge progress. But we must remain vigilant. Here's an update on the progress - including a car-crash interview from one of the activists.
There are so many 'LGBT'-focused days, campaigns and flags during the year that it may be easier to mark the days when it’s not being showcased. But following on quickly from Pink Shirt Day is the next one being targeted at children - Pride Week. We warn you about the activities, messaging and books being used to sexualise and confuse your children. There's nothing to be proud about when you're sexualising children.
Last weekend, a controversial (according to the Mayor & media) conference was held to talk about gender ideology and the harm it is doing to young people. Despite efforts to 'cancel' the event by activists & some councillors who are only "inclusive" if they agree with you, and who wear pink shirts against bullying except when disagree with you, the conference went ahead with protestors outside for a short time, faeces and urine being thrown on some cops, and the cafe in the venue throwing their toys out of the cot and closing for the day for fear of being.... upset. Here's my very very very controversial speech. Buckle up, my precious.
The name Harrison Butker is trending on social media at the moment. Why? Because the three-time Super Bowl champion NFL kicker who is also a Catholic dared to speak about Catholic teaching at a Catholic school to Catholic students. In the words of Greta Thunberg, "how dare you".
We live in a culture that emphasises personal identity against holistic health – ideology against biology – and we saw a screaming example of that last week when the media trumpeted a tragic case of a teenager who needed counselling and care, not castration and confusion.
The Government is bringing back charter schools, an education model scrapped by the Labour-led coalition in 2017. We speak to Alwyn Poole who, from 2013 - 2018, was involved in founding and running two successful Charter Schools after designing the model and the curriculum.
The pro drugs crowd are back. More than 150 'experts' have signed an open letter to the Government calling for the legalisation of ALL drugs. But most of the "experts" who signed their letter aren't the experts that you're thinking of. Some of them are even from America! (shock, horror!)
You would think that at this time, the Public Service Commission would be concerned about jobs being lost and redundancies and all that sort of important and urgent stuff. But nope – the focus is on counselling, safe spaces and indoctrination for incorrect use of personal pronouns.
A bill called the “Fair Access to Bathrooms Bill” has been introduced as a private members bill to Parliament by NZ First. It's pretty easy to understand, but the media and other opponents of the bill did everything they could to misrepresent it.
Oranga Tamariki has just signalled it’s ready to knock on family doors if they refuse to let their children change gender. A loving family who want to protect their child from confusion, chemicalisation and castration will warrant possible removal of the child from that loving family in the interests of radical gender theory.
Many parents are not aware that, while well-intentioned, Pink Shirt Day (coming up on May 17) is being used by activists to politicise gender theory and sexual identity of school children under the guise of anti-bullying programmes, rather than deal appropriately with the issue of school bullying which we’re all concerned about. Pink Shirt Days are predominantly and have always been about promoting an LGBT-narrative. Here's the proof.
There are calls for the Government to stop funding Jacinda Ardern's Christchurch Call. We agree. The 'Christchurch Call' is being used to ram down certain ideologies and to silence dissenters – especially real dangerous people like 'tradwives'. You know - full time mums who are married and do other weird things. They’re comin' for ya, mum!
The Ministry of Health is reviewing the use of puberty blockers here in NZ – and you won’t believe who they’ve asked to help review the evidence… a cheerleader for “transing” our children!
What do kiwi families think about children trying to change their sex, puberty blockers, and gender ideology in classrooms? A new nationwide poll tells us, but the media have ignored it. You'll soon see why.
The latest abortion statistics make grim and upsetting reading, with a 25% increase in abortions since the decriminalisation of abortion in March 2020 – four years ago. The focus on Maori being able to abort their babies – even late-term – is equally sickening.
There's been a lot of discussion about the UK's CASS review which nailed the final nail in the coffin of sending our vulnerable children down the path of believing they can change their sex. But the NZ media were all keen to push back on the research with a local anecdotal story – and they found one, which they all reprinted word for word. The problem was that it did more to back up the conclusions of the CASS review.
Activist groups and politicians who are desperate to indoctrinate your children with radical sexuality and gender fluidity are concerned about the agreement between National & NZ First to review the curriculum, and they realise that the age-inappropriate programme is on the way out. So they’re doing everything they can to try and stop the the review, and the latest attempt comes from the Mental Health Foundation who should know better.
There are four categories of charitable purposes under our law - poverty, education, religion, & public benefit - but the media and the politicians only seem to be interested in the tax status of one of them. Can you guess which one? It tells you everything about the real agenda.
The justification for confusing, chemicalising and castrating our children in the name of gender ideology is crumbling before our eyes. A major report out of the UK last week has all but nailed the coffin shut on a grand social experiment that should never have happened. But New Zealand still sleepwalks its way thru the issue because the Ministry of Health and Te Whatu Ora are working with radical activists, and the politicians are either turning a blind eye or they’ve been captured by the ideology.
Former President Donald Trump’s position on abortion has previously been unclear looking toward the 2024 presidential election, despite the fact that the former president appointed three Supreme Court justices who ultimately made it possible to overturn Roe v. Wade in June 2022 by a majority vote. He now says each state should follow “the will of the people” and pass state-specific laws on abortion. It’s a pretty clear binary choice for choosing the next President. Trump for Life of the Unborn. Biden for Killing the Unborn.
There is a landmark case that will determine whether sex or gender identity take precedence in law. Tickle v Giggle. Yes it sounds like a comedy – but its actually a very serious and significant case that could have ramifications for New Zealand as to how we define the word 'woman'.
A new report measures how much Kiwis trust the news media, and it has plummeted to a new low. It should actually be a wake-up call to the media if they want to avoid going bust, but it appears their desire to push their own agenda & opinion outweighs their desire to survive. Individually there are some fantastic, committed journalists with integrity. But as an industry it’s on its knees.
One of the problems with the whole push to allow children to try and change their sex through preferred pronouns, puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and ultimately castration of health body parts, is that because it’s a relatively new phenomenon, the trans activists have been able to make outlandish claims – and there really hasn’t been the evidence for us to push back. Those days are well and truly over. The research and the evidence continues to pour in, and there was a really significant study just last week - but the media didn't tell you about it. We will.
The mainstream media, left wing politicians and commentators say that the opposition to sexualised drag queens reading to children in libraries ( but not to elderly people in rest homes, interestingly) is just “imported American culture wars from the far right”. Nothing could be further from the truth. Even the drag queens themselves admit that.
There have been four recent acts of public vandalism. Only one is being treated as a 'hate' crime, and one was even celebrated! If you want to know which ones are crimes, you'll need to ask Greens co-leader Chloe Swarbrick. And that's the problem.
There are calls in the US for the fitness chain Planet Fitness to receive the "Bud Light" treatment after an uproar over its transgender locker room policy created a social media stir. The company revoked the gym membership of an Alaskan woman Patricia Silva who complained about a man shaving in the women’s locker room while a 12-year-old girl wrapped in a towel was present. Will they 'go woke go broke'?
Last Thursday was World Down Syndrome Day – and as part of the celebration they encouraged a #LotsOfSocks day. Did your workplace have a #LotsofSocks day? Probably not. It was about celebrating 'diversity'. Woke media, companies and schools love diversity. Just not this diversity as much as the letters one, sadly.
Angela Pehi-Bellas was asked to sing a waiata at the recent Waitangi Day dawn service. Just sing. But due to traffic she was late, just made it there in time, and didn’t quite get the memo that she was just to sing. When she did get up to share her song, she briefly but powerfully also shared her testimony. The political leaders, the media, and the nation certainly heard that message on Waitangi Day this year - even if it wasn’t on the programme.
Amongst all the issues affecting the US, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have identified the key issue. Is it the border, Hamas terrorism or the threat of Iran, or the concerns about the economy and rocketing petrol and food prices, or Russia’s invasion of Ukraine? Nope – they all pale into significance compared with one thing – abortion - killing the unborn child. It’s one reason why Donald Trump – despite all his shortfalls – is the only option if you’re pro-life.
In the weekend media coverage of Donald Trump's "bloodbath" comments and Winston Peter’s "Nazi Germany" comments, they were misrepresented. They weren’t given with appropriate context. And the outrage to both comments has been inconsistent from the media. If the media were consistently calling out both sides of the debate for the rhetoric, I’d support them. But they’re not. And sadly, they’re paying the price because, like you, I don’t trust them like I used to. Only they can fix that. But it seems they don’t want to.
It was a good week for biology, the medical profession and children with gender dysphoria last week. The narrative that children can change their sex with the aid of social transitioning, puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, chest binders and tucking is exploding before our eyes. Around the world, medical professionals are finally waking up to a radical activist experiment on our most vulnerable children, Unfortunately New Zealand is still to come to the party – courtesy of an atrocious mainstream media who refuse to debate this issue as they protect the radical ideology and its adherents. But we’ll tell you. The house of cards has started to fall.
Despite the widespread wailing about the demise of TVNZ’s Sunday programme due to costs and restructures at the state broadcaster, the show won’t be missed. For too long we have watched coverage of important social issues with such a bias that it's got our blood boiling. It’s part of the reason that trust in media is reaching new lows. We deserve better.
The release of internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) suggests that the guidelines of WPATH are neither scientific nor medical. Today we speak to Dr Carrie Mendoza from GENSPECT (USA) regarding WPATH and what the "WPATH files" means for the future of the gender affirmation model which pushes young people towards trying to change their sex through puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
ONE OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT EPISODES: Advocates of gender-affirming care say it’s evidence-based. But now, newly released internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) prove that the practice of transgender medicine is neither scientific nor medical. Thousands of doctors worldwide rely on WPATH including our own Ministry of Health Te Whatu Ora – and it's pushed by a group of NZ activists called PATHA. WPATH is considered the leading global authority on gender medicine – but it’s now been exposed as the wild west of western medicine. The NZ government should immediately pause the transing of our young people.
There have been some sports stories which the media have covered – but they’ve covered them in very different ways. It’s very clear that there’s one rule for some, and another rule for others - depending on who they agree with.
Yesterday we talked about the anti-Posie Parker protestor (20) who repeatedly punched a 71 year old woman / grandmother in the head getting discharged without conviction and permanent name suppression. Today, we talk one-on-one with Judith - the victim.
It was a sad day for women yesterday – and for justice. Repeatedly punching a 71 year old woman – a grandmother - will not even get you a conviction. We compare the outcome of this case with two other cases - connected in different ways.
In quite an incredible admission, the previous head of TV3 news Mark Jennings confessed that senior journalists around the country discussed the possibility of the media not reporting Winston Peters if and when he spoke about the Labour government’s $55m public interest journalism fund. But it’s not the first time this type of collusion amongst media has happened. A similar discussion happened when Family First tried to place a full page advertisement asking “what is a woman?”
In his valedictory speech this week, former Australian PM Scott Morrison (ScoMo) called for the nation to return to its Judeo-Christian roots. But the former head of the Australian Christian Lobby Lyle Shelton says “Morrison had 17 years, including three as Prime Minister, to champion these values. Time and time again he let down Christians and conservatives who thought his faith might translate into public and political advocacy for the values he now calls the nation back to.” We speak with Lyle.
We reveal documentation that shows that Biden’s US State Department is launching a global campaign against pro life and family groups – including NZ. But it’s not the only action to target such groups. The 'Christchurch Call' is also being used to ram down certain ideologies and to silence dissenters – especially real dangerous people like 'tradwives'. You know - full time mums who are married and do other weird things. They’re coming for you, mum!
In a recent interview on TVNZ"s Q&A, a promoter of hate speech laws – Green MP Chloe Swarbrick – proved to us just how flawed & dangerous hate speech laws would be. This is because 'hate speech' is generally defined by the promoters of such a law, who then use them inconsistently but always to their advantage.
Last week we did a McBLOG on the mainstream media’s obsession with the coalition agreement between National and NZ First which scraps and replaces the controversial and radical RSE curriculum. If you think that what we're saying is all conspiracy theory, think again. The media are proving us to be spot on. And they did it at the weekend.
One of the superb parts of the coalition agreement between National and NZ First was the plan to scrap the controversial & radical RSE curriculum being indoctrinated in schools by harmful groups such as InsideOut (RainbowYouth) and Family Planning Association. But the media and the teacher unions are mad! And they’ve already started campaigning against any changes to their agenda.
The Midwifery Council in NZ wants to cancel any mention of women. 'Midwife' is to be renamed 'Midthingamy'. You'll also be astounded to hear their response to the simple question "what is a woman?" But they're not the only wokesters in the health field.
When companies go woke, they often go broke. And the reason they go broke is because people like you and me choose to purchase from companies and retailers who don’t lecture us with woke gender and sexuality virtue signalling as part of our purchase. But more and more companies are going woke - Budlight, Target, Ford, Nike, Adidas, Bonds, Rip Curl, Oreo, and more. You need to be aware of them – so that you can exercise your purchasing power.
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson is a renowned Canadian psychologist, author, and online educator. He first really came to fame in 2016 when he posted a video on YouTube criticising personal pronouns, gender ideology and political correctness in Canada which went viral. The College of Psychologists of Ontario want to force him to be woke. He has written a fabulous response.
Four months ago, war returned to the Middle East with a surprise terrorist attack by Palestinian terror group Hamas which killed 1200 people and wounded thousands more in land assaults and airstrikes. The images of those attacks were truly frightening and disturbing. Hamas also took dozens of Israelis hostage. In response Israel ordered a ‘complete siege’ of Gaza in order to eliminate Hamas once and for all. Today we speak to our Israel correspondent David Silver from Out of Zion Ministries.
As we speak, there are currently negotiations going on to form a three-party coalition. For many months leading up to the election, it was believed that it would be a simple process with just two parties – National and ACT. Then a couple of things happened, and one interview in particular on our online weekly programme "StraightTalk". Did it change the election outcome?
Breastfeeders, chest feeders, birthing people etc. 😳😳😳
La Leche League is an organisation that works in over 80 countries, and exists to help mothers to breastfeed. It even has status at the U.N. But no longer is it just mothers who can breastfeed, according to La Leche League. They have become super woke, sadly. Just like some other groups in NZ, who should all know better.
Here's the interview you won't get from the mainstream media - a child psychiatrist challenging gender ideology, pushing back against directives from health authorities.
Dr Jillian Spencer is an expert in her field, with over 20 years of experience as a medical practitioner and 10 as a specialist psychiatrist. She was recently stood down from her job as a senior staff specialist at a public children’s hospital in Queensland. She has been open about preferring a cautious and holistic approach to the treatment of gender dysphoria cases, rather than an automatic ‘affirmation’-only approach.
The Ministry of Health has just released the latest abortion statistics. We take a look at the latest disturbing trends and dumb (and woke) comments in the report. The report comes just over three years on from when our politicians decriminalised abortion and introduced one of the most liberal and extreme laws in the world, effectively legalising abortion up to 40 weeks with token safeguards. We need to continue to fight for the rights of the unborn child and the welfare of the pregnant mum.
Here's our latest episode of Family Matters with a really important topic in our current cultural setting.
Brad Wilcox is Professor of Sociology, Director of the National Marriage Project and is the Future of Freedom Fellow at the Institute for Family Studies. He is a renowned expert in family studies, and co-author of “Why Marriage Matters, Thirty Conclusions from the Social Sciences”. He is also the author of a forthcoming book “Get Married: Why Americans Must Defy the Elites, Forge Strong Families, and Save Civilization,” due to be published on February 14, 2024.
The Institute for Family Studies has just published a report he co-authored entitled “Do Two Parents Matter More Than Ever?” We talk to Brad Wilcox about the findings of this new report, his new book due out soon, and what the research actually says about marriage.
Euthanasia became legal in Canada in 2016. If we want to see where New Zealand could be headed , then looking at the trend of Canada’s experiment is a good place to start. And as expected, it’s not pretty.
There's pressure on Early Childhood Education centers to push gender ideology on pre-schoolers, yes preschool kids! A parent who is also an ECE (early childhood education) teacher told us at a recent parents' meeting that there is pressure on ECE centers to push gender ideology on preschoolers. What we found after some research should concern every parent. Gender and sexuality ideology is starting way earlier than you possibly thought, and as some people have warned, they’re coming for your kids. It's time to push back.
Britney Spears has revealed she had an abortion while she was dating Justin Timberlake. But contrary to the narrative that the media and the pro-abortion lobby push, this wasn’t a good thing. It wasn’t 'a good day' – ironically – and her experience exposes a number of myths around the pro-abortion pro-killing narrative.
The leader of the Conservative party in Canada, Pierre Poilievre, recently gave a masterclass on how to handle left-wing media and journalists. The video went viral – for good reason. And he eats an apple while he's doing it.
In October 2018, Canada was the first G-20 nation to legalise recreational cannabis. Five years on, public health experts say legalisation hasn’t created any health benefits — but it has been linked to some serious concerns. None of the negative outcomes are unexpected. What’s really interesting is who’s now expressing concern.
The low point of the Election Campaign came during the final leaders' debate between Chris Hipkins and Christopher Luxon. Luxon took a shot at the five ministers who have left Labour this year, to which Hipkins replied with a reference to the accusations against a National MP from his youth. Do our dumb actions as teenagers disqualify us from leadership? Do even our past actions as adults permanently disqualify us? Or does it depend on what the action was, what the consequence at the time was, and how we responded?
Despite the optimism, the significant effort of time and expense, the passion, the utter hard slog, the results are in for the minor parties. Politics is a brutal sport. Good on these parties for putting their hand up and being willing to get involved. We need their voice in the public domain. They must not give up heart. But where to from here...?
As we await the final count and watch the make-up of a National-led Government under Christopher Luxon’s leadership, not a lot will change for Family First. We might have a new conservative-leaning Government – but it’s not necessarily a socially-conservative-leaning Government. It's business as usual for us.
A new study came out last week that claims that shouting at children or using a raised voice can be as damaging as physical or sexual abuse. It raises a couple of important issues around parenting advice and why the anti-smacking law has been a failure.
Israel is under attack. “Shooting babies in front of their parents” … “it’s a crime against humanity”. In today’s McBlog, we speak to kiwi David Silver live from Israel. David runs a ministry called Out Of Zion Ministries.
We've been saying this for a while now, but recent research published in the Journal of Family Psychology continues to endorse just how important the dinner table is, as well as the presence of parents. Your kids need family dinners.
Last week was the 2nd Leader’s Debate between Prime Minister Chris Hipkins and the person who wants to be the next Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. There were a couple of interesting questions on abortion, gender ideology & policies in schools, and decriminalising cannabis. We check their responses.
ALRANZ which stands for Abortion Rights Aotearoa (yeah - not quite accurate eh!) are a tiny group that are radically pro-abortion and have an American activist as their leader. They've released their list of which parties are the most pro-death pro-abortion. If ALRANZ endorse the party, you should probably avoid them like the plague. You’ll be doing the unborn child and the pregnant mum a massive favour.
And here it is ... a full replay of that EXPLOSIVE interview with ACT leader David Seymour on StraightTalk. Have a listen for yourself.
One of the books that the Ministry of Education and Family Planning recommend for your 9 year old to read as part of the RSE (Relationships & Sexuality) Curriculum is "I am Jazz" by Jazz Jennings. A recent examination of Jazz's life concludes, "Jazz Jennings was sold to us by the LGBTQ+ lobby as a shining example of the success of early gender reassignment for children. In truth, he’s been left sexless, sterilised and physically mutilated. Jazz is not an example to follow. His tragic life is an indictment of the trans movement." Judge for yourself whether you believe Jazz is a wonderful role model for your children. And why is Chloe Cole never mentioned?
Over 100 Catholic schools in Cleveland (USA) have set out clear guidelines for sexuality and gender based on Catholic teaching – and they should be music to your ears. The real question is – do NZ faith-based schools adopt similar biblical-based guidelines? If not, why not.
We finally got to see the National party leader Chris Luxon up against current Prime Minister and Labour leader Chris Hipkins in the first Leaders Debate last night. There were some interesting questions and answers that we highlight. Bob also says with absolute confidence who won the debate.
It’s General Election time – and because we operate under an MMP mixed member proportional voting system, the concept of the “wasted vote” always comes up in discussion. Generally the statement is thrown around, something along the lines of, “If your vote is wasted, it goes to another party” – “Another party benefits”. But is this true? We explain how the wasted vote phenomenon works in practice – based on what happened in the General Election in 2020.
It still comes back to you though. You have a choice. They may call it a ‘wasted vote” but it’s not wasted if your goal is to send a message to both the party and to the public in general that you support the principles and policies of that party – even if they don’t get in – this time. On the other hand, you may decide that you don’t want the major parties to get extra seats because of wasted votes – as happened in 2020.
But at least you’ll now know how the system works.
On the same day as our General Election here in New Zealand, Australians will also be going to the polling booth to have their say in a referendum. The question on the ballot paper will be: “A Proposed Law: to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. Do you approve this proposed alteration?” We speak to John Anderson – former Deputy Prime Minister under the Howard Government and guest speaker at our recent conference – who is campaigning for a NO vote.
Australian Kirralie Smith is a passionate wife and mother who challenges Australia’s political leaders to protect children, parents’ rights, women’s spaces and services, sport, the military and education from radical gender ideology. In 2019 Kirralie formed Binary Australia. But it has all come at a cost - a huge cost. Let’s meet Kirralie and hear her story.
Australia's 7News called it “the most controversial story of the year as Spotlight uncovers the irreparable damage being visited on a generation of confused kids wrongly diagnosed as transgender.” It was shown on mainstream television in Australia last Sunday. Will TVNZ's Sunday also broadcast it? We asked them. No response.
“There was no compulsory vaccination” … Hmm, I have a feeling that with that one statement Prime Minister Chris Hipkins just all but confirmed his demise on October 14. But you be the judge.
“There was no compulsory vaccination” … Hmm, I have a feeling that with that one statement Prime Minister Chris Hipkins just all but confirmed his demise on October 14. But you be the judge.
Quiana Casamayor is from the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR). Having started in the pro-life movement as volunteer herself, she now equips volunteers with the tools they need as they reach Canadians with the truth about abortion through various outreach projects. Quiana was introduced to the issue of abortion and the work of CCBR at a young age by folding CCBR’s newsletters with her family. That’s one way to get your children hooked into your ministry. And next month she’s coming to New Zealand. I had the opportunity to speak to Quiana about her upcoming visit. Quiana will be speaking at the March for Life Rotorua on Saturday 23 September 10am.
Chris Hipkins turned up to do a speech yesterday. Apparently, it was supposed to be about 'unity' and refusing to talk about the so-called 'culture wars'. Rather than unifying, it was divisive, and focused extensively on the culture wars including the Labour party’s obsession with abortion. Chris Hipkins gave the media the perfect opportunity to rush off to the other nominee for PM - Christopher Luxon - to get a commitment out of Luxon on abortion.
In early 2020, two drag queens sued Australian family advocate Lyle Shelton for “vilification”. His alleged crime was to write a blog that highlighted that drag queens were promoting gender-fluid ideology to children and that they were “dangerous role models” after they appeared at a drag queen story time event for children at a Brisbane City Council library. The drag queens made a complaint to the Queensland Human Rights Commission alleging that his post was vilification because it incited hatred, severe ridicule and serious contempt towards them. We talk to Lyle about the court decision that has just been released.
Last week the media were talking about something they don’t normally talk about – marriage. So what was it that got the media so excited about marriage. And what didn’t they seem so excited about?
If you want to talk about the transgender issue and women safety in bathrooms, changing rooms, sports, prisons, domestic violence refuges, and in public policy in general, you’ll get shouted down and shouted out of the public domain. Think Posie Parker at Albert Park and the storm that was shamefully whipped up by the media on that. But suddenly, the political leaders are suddenly talking about it on the campaign trail. In fact, some political leaders who support gender ideology are suddenly questioning gender ideology. How can that be?
Value Your Vote 2023 is now available to view. You can view the information on the website, or you can download the 16-page pamphlet. You can also order free copies for your church or community group.
The deputy leader of the National party made some encouraging remarks recently about the role of parents in sexuality education and where the school fits in to it. Then she walked them back. And then she made further disturbing comments this week on the issue. She seems decisively indecisive, but it's probably not a surprise given her voting track record. It’s important you know where our politicians stand on these issues. We need to vote for political leaders who value what we value.
There’s quite a line up of conservative-leaning minor parties that want your vote at the General Election. What happens if you like them all but you can only pick one. And if everyone picks different ones, then what happens? Is there a solution? Bob puts forward his solution and the reasons for it.
If you’re concerned about the overreach of hate speech laws, then you only need to look overseas to see that your fears are quite legitimate. A 16-year-old British girl with autism was taken into custody recently after committing the heinous crime…. of saying a police officer looked like a lesbian, just like her nana (who is actually ‘married’ to a woman). And a Christian preacher in the US was arrested after protesting a Pride event. He argued that the protection of children’s innocence is paramount and therefore drag queen events – particularly those with sexual dancing – should never be a place for children. This is now ‘hate speech’.
When the euthanasia law was being promoted in New Zealand, disability groups were very concerned about the underlying message it sent. Disability rights groups said, “There are endless ways of telling disabled people time and time again that their life has no value.” So what happens when you combine disability, cost and euthanasia. You only need to look at Canada to see where we may be headed.
Ne-Yo is a 43 year old Grammy-winning American singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, and record producer. He recently shared his thoughts on gender identity where he questioned parents who allow their kids to undergo gender-transition surgery. The reaction was swift. He quickly fell into line with the cultural elite – but then he found his backbone. We show why he found his backbone.
Disney’s live-action remake of its 1937 animated classic, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, is slated to hit theaters in March 2024. The only issue is that it’s not going to be strictly speaking Snow White – where’s the diversity in that? Oh – and we can’t have seven dwarfs. That is… completely unacceptable. In fact, there will be one dwarf. So it’s a Hispanic Snow White, one dwarf and some friends from the local diversity club. Woke as.
New surveys in the USA show that high school boys are trending conservative. High school girls are becoming more socially liberal. However, that all changes as they get older. We check out the latest social trends and its effect on mental health. Because progressivism or liberalism is secular, it's also depressing. If you want to improve your mental health, become a social conservative.
It’s pretty hard to do life without a bank account. In fact, with our move to a cashless world, having a bank account has become an essential service. But what happens when banks cancel your accounts or don’t even want your business – because you happen to be a social conservative. It’s happening – at a disturbing level.
The headline in the Herald on Sunday screamed "School violence on the rise: Thousands of students stood-down or suspended for physically assaulting peers each year." Are you surprised? You shouldn’t be. Children born at or around the time of the passing of the anti-smacking law or after it are now teenagers and children. Using government data, we examine the result of this grand social experiment - data which political and academic leaders refuse to acknowledge, instead lazily blaming bad behaviour on COVID and the climate.
In a disturbing display of media censorship in New Zealand, the major daily newspapers have banded together to pull a full page advertisement at the 11th hour. The advertisement asked the question "What is a woman?". We reveal how the media all worked together to suppress this campaign and the resulting furor. We also analyse a hysterical bias hit piece on the campaign by one of the newspapers who refused to run the advertisement.
As more and more parents learn about what is in the Relationships and Sexuality Education curriculum being rammed down by the Ministry of Education into our schools aimed at children as young as 5 years old, those parents are starting to speak up and get actively involved in the process in order to protect children from the extreme sexuality and gender ideology which is confusing and stressing them. Today we speak to one such parent - Kathryn. You'll be encouraged by the simple and respectful actions that she took.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) is preparing its first ever global guideline on “transgender” medical protocols to fight the rapid spread of bans and restrictions on “transgender” surgeries and drugs, especially for children. The “guideline development group” chosen by the WHO staff is comprised entirely of “transgender” activists and medical providers. But at the same time, a damning letter in The Wall Street Journal from 21 clinicians and researchers from nine countries involved in direct care of the fast-growing numbers of teenagers presenting with gender distress, say there is no good evidence that medicalised gender change prevents suicide, and politicised medical societies are exaggerating the benefits of these medical interventions while playing down the risks.
Spark and ONE NZ (formerly Vodafone) decided to align themselves with activist Shaneel Lal to disparage "TERFS" - women who believe in biology and that a man cannot be a woman no matter how hard he tries. But what Spark and ONE NZ quickly learnt is that NZ'ers have had enough of having woke values rammed down their throat, and they’re starting to push back. As BudLight in the USA have found out, and even Target and Disney to a certain extent, there’s only so long that companies can lecture consumers before the consumers decide to turf THEM out and stop buying from them.
There was an important Supreme Court decision out of the US recently. In this 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court held that the government cannot force you to say or produce something that violates your religious beliefs. The decision was another good day for freedom, faith and conscience. That’s why the media didn’t like it.
"Sound of Freedom" was America’s #1 movie taking the top spot at the box office on Independence Day. It's based on the life of Tim Ballard who left the Department of Homeland Security about 10 years ago and founded a group that works with local police to catch child sex traffickers in other countries — often by staging elaborate sting operations that it captures on video. It sounds like an amazing movie – but the mainstream media don’t seem to like it, which is why you should definitely go and see it.
We traveled to Sydney and sat down for a chat with Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players Josh Aloiai and Toafofoa Sipley. Both players were part of the “Manly 7” who refused to wear the 'pride' jersey last year. We interviewed them as part of the Forum on the Family 2023.
Chloe Cole is an 18 year old de-transitioner from The Central Valley of California. She started her transition at 12 years old, puberty blockers and testosterone at 13 and a double mastectomy at 15 years old. She is now a strong advocate against gender ideology. Family First New Zealand’s Bob McCoskrie spoke with her in Charleston, USA recently.
President Biden’s administration in the US (like the UN and the EU) is desperate to push a radical sexuality and gender ideology on countries throughout the world. Fortunately many countries are standing up to the indoctrination and to the pressure. One of them is Hungary. The U.S. Ambassador to Hungary recently criticised the LGBTQ+ policies in Hungary. But the USA is certainly no role model for family policy and cultural cohesion at the moment.
A NZ high school teacher has had his teaching registration cancelled and has lost his career after he refused to use the preferred pronouns and name for a 14-year-old student who was in the process of transitioning from a girl to boy. When teachers are mandated to tell a biological untruth or lose their careers because of a flawed and harmful ideology which is ruining children's lives and futures, then you know we’re in a really dangerous place. It is not loving to affirm a lie.
More and more testimonies are surfacing from both teenagers and from parents affected by gender ideology. Today we hear from a mother, and from a teenage detransitioner.
It’s our 250th episode of McBlog 🥳. On the 16th November 2021, we launched this regular almost-daily commentary on current social and family issues, and the audience has significantly grown over that time. We check out the most viewed episodes of McBlog on both YouTube and Facebook.
If I told you that there was a politician who didn’t want to do anything about a law that allows child abuse or child mutilation, would that make you raise your eyebrows? Would you vote for them if they had that attitude? If you were the Prime Minister for a day and knew there was a law on the books of the land that resulted in people being murdered, would you immediately review it and try and overturn it? Most of us would. National leader Christopher Luxon believes that abortion is tantamount to murder - but he has pledged that he will not touch the law if he becomes Prime Minister. How can that be?
Oxfam is a world-wide development organisation that mobilises the power of people against poverty. Well, that’s what they say they’re supposed to do. But they have entered the new religion of wokeness by pushing an extreme sexuality and gender ideology video, and have quickly alienated many of their supporters. But it’s not the first time…
We speak to a mother who challenged her local school board of trustees in a 10-minute speech on their policies around radical sexuality and gender ideology in the school. She explains how she gained the ability to speak at the meeting, and what preparation she did.
As part of indoctrinating a radical and extreme sexuality & gender ideology to our children, there is now "Schools’ Pride Week Aotearoa" for NZ schools being held this week, overseen by the radical and government-funded charity InsideOUT. Have you checked with your school to see whether they're observing it? Children should not be exposed to such political and moral indoctrination by their schools. We show you what content your child may be exposed to, and how you can respond to protect your children.
One year after its original release, The Daily Wire’s “What Is A Woman?” documentary soared to new heights, prompted by a Twitter premiere that featured a dramatic triumph over social media censorship. The tweet of the 90-minute film has amassed more than 170 million views since being posted by The Daily Wire’s Twitter account last Thursday — the first day of Pride Month. And part of the reason it’s gone viral is not only because it’s very good, very revealing, and very funny – but because the left tried to treat it as "hate speech" – in other words, speech they hate. But it backfired. We check out the documentary. And preview a new documentary - “What is a Man!”
If ever you hear about opposition to 'gender ideology', either the person will be labelled a "far-right Christian", or a "TERF" – a feminist who believes in biology and doesn’t think you can choose to be a woman. Perhaps you’ll be labelled as a "Christian TERF" - the ultimate in insults! But what you’ll never hear from the mainstream media and commentators is what Muslims say about 'gender ideology' and radical sexuality being targeted in schools and at their families. But they’ve got a strong opinion- and it’s very similar to yours.
If you use the term ‘father’ and ‘mother’ in Parliament, that’s fine. But if you’re a social conservative and you use the term ‘father’ and ‘mother’ in Parliament – you’ll be labelled “homophobic”. Why? Because they want social conservatives to shut up. Ignore them - and keep talking about mothers, fathers, strong marriages and families.
It sounded like a tough day for Israel Folau at the weekend. According to media reports, Israel Folau was booed while playing for the World XV against the Barbarians at the weekend at Twickenham in England, and especially after scoring. We do a Fact Check on the reporting and make some interesting discoveries. Thankfully, Israel Folau isn’t listening to the media, and neither should we.
Academics don’t feel free to air controversial opinions, according to a survey of academics by the Free Speech Union. Three of the taboo subjects were – not surprisingly - gender ideology, the Treaty of Waitangi and climate change. Academic freedom appears to ‘be on life support’ in our halls of learning. We speak to Jonathon Ayling, CE of the Free Speech Union.
If you listened to the media and to the Disinformation Project, you would think that only right-wing people are violent & aggressive protesters. The problem is that violent left-wing activism has cropped up frequently in the U.S. in recent years, most notably during the summer of 2020, when activists destroyed the downtown areas of major cities during protests around the death of George Floyd. And there was the attempted murder by a pro-abortionist of a Supreme Court justice after the leaking of the draft of an opinion by the Supreme Court signalling that it is positioned to overturn Roe v. Wade. Even here in NZ, we saw violence from trans rights activists at the Posie Parker rally. A new study came out over the weekend, arguing that left-wing extremism and aggression are linked to psychopathic and narcissistic tendencies.
One of the speakers we have at the upcoming Forum on the Family in June is Dr Kevin Sabet. Kevin is the head of SAM (Smart Approaches to Marijuana) who were very supportive with research when we were battling the cannabis referendum in 2020.The reason they’re so helpful is because many US states have gone down the legalisation path – and are seeing the consequences of the disastrous policy firsthand. Here's the evidence.
We highlight three current cases of religious freedom being under attack in Australia. A Christian conservative MP is sacked from a conservative party for attending the Posie Parker rally in Victoria; a mother is served with a non-violence order for speaking up against biological males playing in female soccer teams; and a Catholic hospital is to be taken over by the ACT Government because it won't perform abortions or euthanasia. No, it's not 1984 - but it feels like it.
When companies go woke, they often go broke. And the reason they go broke is because people like you and me choose to purchase from companies and retailers who don’t lecture us with woke gender and sexuality virtue signalling as part of our purchase. But more and more companies are going woke. You need to be aware of them – so that you can increase your purchasing power and send them a powerful message.
The annual New Zealand Forum on the Family brings together a national network of family-focused organisations, scholars, leaders and individuals. The theme of this year’s forum is “Building a Courage Culture” – not a ‘cancel culture’, and we have an amazing line-up of speaker on key social issues. We give you 2 more important reasons to attend - John and Deb. (Our 3 previous reasons were Walt, Lila and Kevin!)
In a new 'pandemic of bonkers', some parents are wanting to raise their children as not baby boys or baby girls but as "theybies" - what is known as “gender creative parenting”. These parents are deliberately keeping the sex of their babies top secret because they say the children themselves should be free to decide – as they grow up - who they are. The good news is that while the media try and push the whole “theybies” thing, it’s not really catching on to most normal thinking parents. You just can’t quite get around the little issue of.... biology.
Concerns have been raised over the Invercargill City Council allowing anyone 'identifying' as female to use the female changing rooms at Invercargill’s Splash Palace public swimming pool. More than 100 people turned up at a meeting with council staff about the issue last week concerned about the policy. We speak to two of the women who are leading the charge on this issue on behalf of many families.
The headline screamed “1 in 4 US teens identify as LGBTQ". But is it accurate – and what does it really mean? In this episode, we analyse the claim, and show that while sexual and gender confusion are increasing, at the same time, the mental health of our young people is deteriorating - not surprisingly. It’s time we spoke the truth about biology and about the biblical standard for sex. For the sake of our young people.
The American Library Association released a list of the 13 most “challenged” books aimed at teens during 2022, blaming ‘anti-LGBT’ prejudice for what it calls censorship. The problem is that all the books contain sexually explicit content and other offensive & objectionable material. It’s not ‘prejudice’ or ‘anti-LGBT’. It’s about protecting young people from explicit, age-inappropriate, offensive and potentially upsetting material.
Last Friday, the Disinformation Project who specialise in reports oozing with disinformation released a new report which argued that questioning gender theory is a form of "genocide". And despite all the images we (and the rest of the world) were horrified to see on that day in Albert Park recently when an elderly woman was punched in the face, and women's campaigner Posie Parker was assaulted, shouted down and hounded out of a public meeting with police protection by a mob, according to the Disinformation Project, it was the mob who were the victims.
In the good old days, you could say statements and wear shirts that say things like 1+1=2, the world is round, the capital of NZ is Wellington, only women can get pregnant, and there are only two genders. Nowadays, it is almost an act of terrorism (except of course if it’s a pink shirt). And you know how upside down the world is when it takes a 12 year old to be bold and call all of this out. But that's exactly what 12-year-old Massachusetts boy Liam Morrison did.
Female swimmers forced to share a locker room and then compete against a biological males!!
Riley Gaines is a 12 time All-American swimmer with 5 SEC titles and was a successful female swimmer at University of Kentucky with ambitions to pursue a dental degree. That post-graduate ambition and her entire life was changed when she was forced to share a locker room and then compete against a biological male Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championship. She says biological men should not take opportunities for success in sports away from women, and that biological men should not share locker rooms with women.
Many parents are not aware that, while well-intentioned, Pink Shirt Day is being used by activists to indoctrinate gender theory and sexual identity of school children under the guise of anti-bullying programmes, rather than deal appropriately with the issue of school bullying in all its forms which we’re all concerned about. Pink Shirt Day is predominantly, and has always been, about promoting an LGBT-narrative. And they have proved our point by who they used in their promo video for this year’s event.
A lot of people believe that as a centre right party, ACT would be a social conservative party. Aren’t people on the centre right labelled as conservatives? Generally they are. But while ACT are fiscal conservatives wanting less government, lower government spending and more accountability (which is a good thing), they are definitely not social conservatives. And that was confirmed at the weekend. They’re about as socially conservative as a left-wing party, and actually don't like your values.
Here’s two recent media reports (not in the mainstream media of course) which will encourage you and give you hope. Most non-western non-woke countries are concerned about housing, poverty, education – you know, the things that matter. Western countries in the UN including NZ and Australia are obsessed with your sexual orientation and gender identity, and the right to kill the unborn children. But conservative countries are pushing back.
Without any official announcement, the Government is attempting to change the make-up of school boards by inserting into a proposed bill that “…every [school] board should reflect the genders, sexualities, and sexes of the student body of the school and within the community served by the school…” Apparently (!) genders, sexualities, and sexes are all different. None of those terms are defined in the legislation. All schools, including religious schools (and especially Christian ones with biblical Statements of Faith and values in their DNA), will come under increasing pressure to have representatives from LGBTTQIA+++ activist organisations on their board.
The UN seems obsessed with abortion, transgenderism, drugs & prostitution. In our last episode we talked about a shocking report issued by international legal experts with the backing of the United Nations which appears to open the floodgates to normalise sex with minors under the guise of a human rights approach. But the report also talks about laws concerning abortion, transgenderism, prostitution and drugs. You'll be shocked by what they're suggesting.
A shocking report issued by international legal experts with the backing of the United Nations appears to open the floodgates to normalise sex with minors under the guise of a human rights approach. It does not actively call for decriminalising sex between adults and minors, but it states that children have both the capacity and the legal right to make sexual decisions. And the report does also not offer a suggested age of sexual consent. Sadly, it's not the first time this type of policy has been promoted.
The Growing Up in New Zealand longitudinal study (GUiNZ) is New Zealand’s largest ongoing cohort study. It is research which is so important and could have significant value – but, it’s been captured by gender ideologues and activists. It’s now even possible that families are dropping out of the study at an increasing rate because of confusing and harmful questioning of young children. In fact, we think parents may want to withdraw their involvement after watching this analysis.
Parents take notice! California mum, lawyer, a self-confessed “liberal-lefty” and long-time Democrat voter Erin Friday is a leader of the parent advocacy group "Our Duty" - an international support network for parents who wish to protect their children from gender ideology. And Erin’s involvement has come from personal involvement in this issue. It was her own daughter who she needed to rescue.
Warning! Do you ever put your children in front of the television thinking that the tv can do some child supervision while you catch up on household chores or prepare dinner or maybe even just have a coffee and some peace? You may not be fully aware of just the type of 'feeding' of radical sexuality and gender ideology indoctrination being targeted at your children - even at 4pm on a weekday!
When companies go woke, they often go broke. Most of us just want to consume a product or buy something without getting a lecture on social or political commentary or someone’s sexual orientation. And there was a perfect example of this in the US recently. The top selling beer brand Bud Light decided to go real woke – and now has a major hangover.
The annual New Zealand Forum on the Family brings together a national network of family-focused organisations, scholars, leaders and individuals. The theme of this year’s forum is “Building a Courage Culture” – not a ‘cancel culture’, and we have an amazing line-up of speaker on key social issues. We give you 3 important reasons to attend - Walt, Lila and Kevin.
There’s a new report that’s just been released which measures how much NZ'ers trust the news media. It confirms what probably many of you are feeling about the news media at the moment– but wonder if you’re the only one who’s frustrated. You’re not. This report should actually be a wake-up call to the media if they want to avoid going bust as sadly TodayFM has just done, but we suspect it won’t be. And we all lose because of that.
During the marriage redefinition debate in 2013, we warned that If marriage is redefined once, what is to stop it being redefined again? Allowing only same-sex marriage on the basis of 'love is love', consenting adults and human rights would then open the door for those arguing for polygamous & group marriage and adult consensual incest - irrespective of our moral opposition. A new candidate for National expressed those very concerns during the earlier civil unions debate in 2003. And for that he’s been rebuked by the National party leader. Other MPs have been rebuked for their views on abortion and climate alarmism. It appears that National is no longer the 'broad church' it claims to be – either lock in step with the woke view or else.
The Prime Minister Chris Hipkins was asked at the post-cabinet press conference yesterday afternoon one of the trickiest questions in the woke world – What is a woman? How did he cope with it? Well, not too well. And once again, NZ is the focus of the international media, for all the wrong reasons.
Last week we were alerted to yet another new sex education programme – which seems to be the replacement for cancelled "Mates & Dates". We’ve investigated some of the content and ideology of this new 'consent' programme called BodySafe which is being targeted at children aged 13-15 years old. Once again, parents should be concerned.
A Methodist Bible college in the UK has hit the headlines for sacking a Christian lecturer over tweets defending a Christian view of sexuality. Dr Aaron Edwards was sacked for misconduct by Cliff College in Derbyshire and was told that for sharing a Christian understanding of sexuality, he had brought the Methodist college "into disrepute." He was also threatened with being reported to Prevent (the anti-radicalisation unit). We meet Dr Edwards and hear his story.
NZ didn’t cover itself in glory with the horrendous scenes we saw in Auckland last weekend with the Posie Parker “women’s rights” speaking tour which was shut down with violence. We check out the international coverage and commentary. It’s not pretty.
Marama Davidson, who is also Green Party co-leader, is facing flak from political opponents. They’re calling for her to resign after making comments on Saturday when questioned at a trans rights rally in Auckland, which acted as a counter-protest to a speaking event by British activist Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull - also known as “Posie Parker”. She says she didn’t quite mean what she said. Nope – she meant it, because she believes it.
Violence instead of Free Speech in NZ. British gender activist Posie Parker has left New Zealand, calling it the ‘worst place for women she has ever visited’. She left her rally at Albert Park in Auckland on Saturday without speaking, after being overwhelmed by thousands of heckling counter-protesters who broke the barriers, doused her with tomato juice, and the mob then hounding the event out of a public space. It was a sad day for free speech, and an atrocious day for women who simply want to stand up for their rights. We talk to free speech advocate and supporter of Speak Up For Women Ani O’Brien who was at the event at Albert Park.
Josh Alexander, a 16-year-old student at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Canada, was suspended recently for expressing objections to the school’s transgender bathroom policy which allows males identifying as transgender girls to use bathrooms designated for females. It’s not the first case where a religious school has lost sight of their founding document and ended up penalising their own.
A new report has reviewed the news media’s coverage of one of the most significant events in 2022 – the Parliament Protest - which lasted almost four weeks. Whatever your view of the merits of the protest, what the analysis found probably won’t surprise you – but it should concern you.
Back in 2013, we alerted you to the book "Into The River" that had won the prestigious New Zealand Post Children’s Book Award – a book, according to the NZ Herald, laced with detailed descriptions of sex acts, the coarsest language and scenes of drug-taking. And then more recently, the book in the primary school library "How do you make a baby" by Anna Fiske which had explicit & offensive images also. There's more recent examples of books that you probably don't want in the school library. Have you checked what's on the shelves at your child's school?
The $2.2m taxpayer-funded complaints centre set up by the Human Rights Commission for receiving complaints about ‘conversion therapy’ has admitted that there have been no formal complaints about ‘conversion therapy’ since the new law was passed, despite significant advertising about its services. In fact, there weren't any for the 10 years before the law either. This is a law looking for a problem that doesn't exist. But we all knew that.
TVNZ’s 1News reported that a Northland christian school is closing down because it can’t practice ‘conversion therapy’. We do a Fact-Check and speak to the Chair of the Proprietors (church) that oversees the school to find out the real story.
Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock are two very well known comedians – and they’ve both had Netflix Specials. Both of them have accidentally told the truth about abortion to a worldwide audience. They’re trying to be funny about the issue – but in the process, they tell it for what it truly is.
The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe. A recent debate was “Should Christianity allow gay marriage?" One of the speeches went viral - by a person who was recently blocked from becoming a priest in the Church of England because of his views on marriage, wokeness, BLM and critical theory.
In an excellent presentation from new website commonroomnz.com, Aaron Ironside - an experienced broadcaster - shares his experience of being a spokesperson for the No side during the 2020 cannabis referendum debate. He expected the news media to report both sides of the debate evenly and let the public make up their minds. What he experienced was the complete opposite. It's a fascinating insight as to what happened during the lead-up to the Referendum.
During the marriage redefinition debate in 2013, we argued that if marriage is redefined once, what is to stop it being redefined again? Allowing only same-sex marriage on the basis of love and human rights would then open the door for those arguing for polygamous and group marriage. Why would 'discrimination' against these loving adults be okay? At the weekend the Herald on Sunday proved our point right with a very long exposé entitled "The truth about life in a throuple: ‘You can love more than one person’". They even argue that threesomes could be a cure for infidelity!
How can we celebrate "International Women's Day" today when it can't be defined correctly. If you define a woman biologically – an adult human female – you immediately destroy gender ideology. And because gender theory is not rooted in reality but in ideology, it trips up at the most basic question. What is a woman?
At the end of 2021, biology got voted out of parliament. Every party in Parliament (yes - even National & ACT) voted for a law that renders birth certificates as meaningless and which continues the relentless push to nullify biological sex and the scientific accuracy of male and female. But for some reason, Maori 'identifying' as Tahine, Whakawahine and Whakatane won't be allowed. But doesn't self-identification mean that there are no limits on the terminology? There's already 112 genders - apparently. Why not more?
The good news late last year was that the 'Mates & Dates' programme in schools, which had been indoctrinating harmful and confusing gender fluidity and sexuality ideology into our schools for far too long, was scrapped. But now there’s a new show in town – called 'In Your Skin'. It’s a programme developed by two sexologists from Australia. We’ve investigated some of its content and ideology. Once again, parents should be concerned.
At the height of the 2020 Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots in downtown Chicago, Juan Riesco, co-owner of Nini’s Deli, was pressured to proclaim support of BLM. But Juan is a Christian and could not endorse the anti-Christian anti-family pro-abortion beliefs of the Black Lives Matter organisation. He did believe black people, as well as all people, mattered to God. What happened next will amaze you - but hopefully also encourage you to be as bold as Juan, no matter the cost.
We check out another documentary just released on the medical ethics of the so-called 'gender-affirming care'. Its called "AFFIRMATION GENERATION". It’s a powerful documentary that gives voice to detransitioners and medical professionals that are pushing back on transgender ideology and the harm it's doing to our young people, and to our culture at large.
Census forms arrived to most kiwis this week. Before you fill out the form, you need to figure out your sex at birth - and then your gender. Apparently... they’re totally different. The census is an exercise in radical gender ideology by Stats NZ.
Last year we reported to you that Washington University IT department had joined other university IT departments around the country to replace racist, sexist, ageist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise non-inclusive language. Stanford University has now joined the woke brigade, Their list of banned words came out last May but in December, after the index came to light on social media, Stanford hid it from public view. We got a hold of the list – hope you have your pen handy.
Has Disney lost its way? Many Disney fans have noticed a sharp increase in the company’s political and social activism. A new documentary by the Catholic League reveals how Disney pushes an activist agenda and sexual ideology through children’s movies, cartoons and public political battles.
Family First has just released a new report which calculates that the fiscal cost to the taxpayer of family breakdown and decreasing marriage rates has been estimated at around $2 billion (around $520 per taxpayer) in 2020-2021. The cost has doubled since 2008-9 when the fiscal cost was just $1 billion or $300 per taxpayer. Over the last twelve years the total cost would be in the order of $21 billion. So not only does family breakdown impact adults and children both emotionally and financially, but it also costs taxpayers in helping repair the breakdown. Perhaps we should invest in strengthening marriages and families.
The Associated Press (or AP as you will see on many articles in mainstream media in NZ) is a global news organisation, and is also notably the stylebook used by many news outlets, and it influences how many journalists choose to word and frame various issues. The Associated Press recently put out updated abortion guidelines – called an “Abortion Topical Guide” for journalists — guidance which pro-lifers say “demonstrates even further the extent of the media’s bias in favour of abortion.” You will see how they want to change the language to manipulate the narrative.
It’s pretty clear to most people that if you have a Christian faith and hold biblical values – especially around marriage, abortion and sexuality, you are public enemy #1 and must be shut down. It's no longer possible to sit on the fence and expect reasonableness and tolerance. The new religion of "Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DIE)" only goes in one direction – and it’s definitely not in yours and mine. Here's three recent examples.
Matthew Grech, a christian charity worker in Malta, faces potential fines and imprisonment for allegedly falling afoul of his country's ban on "conversion practices" when he explained to a local media outlet last year how he left homosexuality behind because he came to believe it was wrong. Matthew’s case and the actions of Malta (which NZ's law was partly modelled on) are exactly what the activists want – and you’re dreaming if you think that this won’t happen in NZ. But as our speaker from last year’s Forum on the Family Joe Dallas said, you can ban “conversion therapy” but you’ll never be able to ban conversion.
One of the disturbing aspects around the whole gender identity debate and the push for gender affirming treatment for young people – i.e. puberty blockers, wrong sex hormones and the castration of healthy body parts – is that no dissent is allowed. Even medical professionals are scared to speak up. That was admitted in an article in the NZ Listener last September by Charlotte Paul, emeritus professor in the Department of Preventative and Social Medicine at the University of Otago. But a whistle blower in the US has now spoken out. It’s an article which is unlikely to be reprinted in our mainstream media – so we'll share it with you.
Last November we highlighted a case from Canada where a popular fashion brand Simons posted a video entitled "All Is Beauty". It tells the tale of a woman who has opted for euthanasia. It’s an attempt to normalise and even glamorise euthanasia in a country where the slippery slope is well and truly greased. BUT there’s a twist to the story which actually highlights the real danger of euthanasia. And, ironically, David Seymour also recently confirmed that danger.
The mainstream media’s focus on the liberalisation of drug laws continues. Many of them have never got over the shock that a majority of NZers voted no to legalising cannabis in the 2020 referendum. But that hasn’t stopped their campaigning, In the space of a fortnight near the end of last year, there was Radio NZ’s documentary by Guyon Espiner called “Wasted”– also shown on TVNZ. Then it was Patrick Gower on Newshub. And just before Christmas, it was TodayFM and reporter Willemena Shrimpton who joined the 'drug campaign'. We check out the latest documentary on offer.
As children prepare to return to the classroom, Family First has just released some essential reading for parents & caregivers. In fact, it could be one of the most important publications you read at the start of this term. The new Parent Guide will help you protect your children from the radical sexuality and gender indoctrination in schools.
We may all remember where we were when we heard the news on January 19 when the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern unexpectedly resigned. Why was it a good day? Because a political leader who had championed and voted for a number of aspects of radical social engineering, especially against our most vulnerable - the unborn, had stepped down. But has the change of leadership changed the urgency and importance of our work?
We have some great news about the 'Mates and Dates' programme which has been indoctrinating harmful and confusing gender fluidity and sexuality ideology into our schools for far too long – but we took the blowtorch to it.
Jonah* is a 14 year old. He tells us what it's like to sit through a 'Mates & Dates' programme as the presenters extol the benefits of puberty blockers, announce their personal pronouns as "they / them", promote 72 sexualities, and instruct children that they can choose what gender they are irrespective of their genitalia. No wonder our young people are stressed!
(* not his real name)
Hayley and her husband were both trained as a facilitator of the ACC 'Mates & Dates' programme. Hayley lasted one term because she quickly realised just how harmful and confusing the material was for young people. (Her husband resigned even before he got into the classroom!) Listen to her experience, and her warning to parents.
The problem with legalising assisted suicide and euthanasia is that something that was previously NOT an option is now clearly an option – it’s normalised. We show you how it's even being promoted by a Canadian fashion retailer to look wonderful. We also show you the story of a Canadian who earlier this year launched a landmark lawsuit alleging that health officials will not provide him with an assisted home care team of his choosing, instead offering, among other things, assisted suicide. He even has the audio to prove it.
Apparently we all need to determine and display our personal pronouns. If you work for a woke government service or organisation, then you’ll be pressured and maybe even mandated to state what your personal pronouns are. The only evidence that needs to be provided in order to prove that someone is non-binary and has different pronouns is... they say it. So those are the rules. Pronouns matter – except when it doesn't suit the narrative.
You’ll remember our McBlog episode last week on yet another media hit-job on Bethlehem College - a successful school with values and a waiting list for enrolments. But within a few hours of publishing, the media outlet Stuff had to make a major retraction. Since then there’s been further developments on that particular story – and last weekend the NZ Media Council had to again hand out a rebuke to Stuff on yet another hit-job on a similar issue. The actions and comments by Stuff and the judgment by Media Council will amuse, surprise, and possibly even anger you.
There were some interesting stats out last week – but for some reason the media didn’t want to know about it and definitely didn’t want to report it. But we will. Guess what - cannabis use has fallen since the Referendum Debate ended. Yep – dope smoking is on the decrease, and that’s a reason to celebrate.
The “Mates & Dates” programme in schools is an ACC programme for children 13 years up, and sold as a programme around healthy relationships, the harms of drugs and alcohol, and keeping safe together. What we’ve found is that it is linked closely to the Ministry of Education’s radical sexuality & gender ideology. We were contacted by a mum concerned by what her 13-year-old daughter told her after sitting through just one class of “Mates and Dates”.
We had 15 minutes with Rev Franklin Graham just before he preached the Gospel to a packed stadium in Auckland last weekend as part of the national "God Loves You Tour".
We discuss ‘cancel’ culture, ‘progressive’ Christianity, God’s ‘inclusive’ love for everyone, standing up with boldness in the culture, sin hell grace and love, why Christians should continue to proclaim that marriage is one man one woman and life begins at conception, and we even mention the words “Donald Trump”!
We speak to Professor Paul Moon from AUT about the significant backdown by the Government over the proposed hate speech laws. What does the proposed law now mean, should we be concerned that hate speech laws may be inserted elsewhere in other laws, and where to from here?
TVNZ's Sunday programme was back with yet another anti-family narrative. This week, it was “don’t have babies – the environment can’t handle them”. Ironically, their own experts either countered that narrative, or didn’t follow their own advice! But New Zealand's disturbingly low fertility rate is an important issue about the future of NZ that we do need to talk about - but in a balanced and sensible way. Not surprisingly, Sunday programme certainly didn't do justice to that.
At the same time as the government was making noises about hate speech laws, the government state broadcaster TVNZ coincidentally featured a documentary called “Web of Chaos” funded by you - via NZ on Air, and featuring the Disinformation Project. The problem is that there is a clear underlying left wing anti-family narrative and ideology which clouds their judgement. They clearly disagree with a morally conservative or traditional Christian worldview. We show two (hilarious) clips to confirm this.
NZ has had legal assisted suicide / euthanasia for a year now, so we take a look at the latest statistics. The overseas experience in the small number of countries that allow assisted suicide is that there is an inevitable push to extend such a ‘human right’ to a greater number of people, such as those with chronic conditions, disabilities, mental illness, those simply ‘tired of life’, or even children. Just 12 months on, those calls are already being made in New Zealand.
Bethlehem College is back in the news again. Apparently – apparently - their school counselor has been accused of bullying and 'transphobia'. It’s yet another media hit-job on a successful school with values and a waiting list for enrollments. But within a few hours, the media outlet had to make a major and embarrassing retraction. We fact-check the whole article.
In a survey by Curia Market Research and commissioned by Family First NZ, 1,000 respondents were asked to name the three biggest issues that they are concerned about. However, unlike other similar polls, the respondents were given a blank sheet with no ‘suggestions’ of what might be a concern. This makes the survey unique in that there is no leading question. It is specifically what is top of mind for families in New Zealand at the moment.
We received further evidence last week of just how dangerous some schools in New Zealand are to the moral innocence of our children. We look at a book in a primary school library that was referred to us by a horrified mother of a 9-year-old daughter.
Warning! This material is explicit and you may find it offensive.
(But apparently it's okay for children as young as 4)
There are continued calls from drug advocates in NZ to decriminalise drugs and to adopt a ‘health approach’. We only need to look overseas to see what a social disaster it would be – Scotland, Oregon, San Francisco. The Drug Foundation recently trumpeted Vancouver as a good example. But is it? One of the most beautiful cities in North America has been beset by skyrocketing crime, violent attacks, and a crippling battle with addiction, based on a flawed ‘harm reduction’ method which ignores the harsh reality of normalising drug use.
The Midwifery Council of NZ has revised its midwifery scope of practice guidelines to entirely remove the words “woman” and “mother”, because of "the need for a radical transformation of the health system, including midwifery”. "Radical" is correct. "Biologically tone deaf" would be another description, as would "woke stupidity". But aren’t they just following the wokeness of the government’s Ministry of Health?
Have you ever thought that most newsrooms in New Zealand – radio, newspaper and television – appear to have a left wing bias? And is that a fair assessment? A new survey of kiwi journalists has the answer as to whether your assumption is correct - a report that the media themselves haven't been too keen to share. But we will....
Cat Cattinson is a singer, science enthusiast, and a detransitioned woman. If Cat had been 13 today, through the efforts of gender activists & therapists, politicians and health authorities, Cat could’ve been pushed through puberty blockers, cross sex hormones (should be called 'wrong sex hormones') and surgical operations to remove her breasts and have fake genitalia put on her body. Fortunately she didn’t. Have a listen to her story - and her warning.
The government is renewing their commitment to introducing 'hate speech' laws, It is vital that families and faith communities understand what is really at stake with these proposals. We show you an example from the UK of just how flawed and harmful these laws could become, and who they will really be targeted at. Make no mistake - political activists and special interest groups will miss the important distinction between hate-speech, and merely speech they hate, and end up using such laws as tools of political intimidation to punish opponents and shut down debate in the marketplace of ideas.
The government, pro-abortion activists and the media were very excited this week. The government has just introduced an even easier way to get abortions. Dial an 0800 number and get the abortion pills couriered. DIY abortion. Remember the slogan "safe, legal and rare". It was a big fat lie. There’s this big push for easy access to medical abortions. We explain why, and we show you what actually happens in a medical abortion.
The Ministry of Health has just released the latest abortion statistics. One positive is that it uses the word “women” six times – so that’s progress because only women can get pregnant, but let’s take a look at the latest trends – just over two years on from when our politicians decriminalised abortion and introduced one of the most liberal and extreme laws in the world. You’ll be disturbed by the cheerleading for abortion being done by the so-called ‘health’ ministry. ‘Health’ - but only for some.
The appointment of Britain’s first Hindu Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is a historic moment in the history of Great Britain. He also makes history as the first person of South Asian descent or of colour to take on the role. We look at his voting record and statements on issues such as abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, gender identity, conversion therapy laws, religious belief and free speech.
Amongst all the issues affecting the US, and as the Americans prepare to vote in the mid-term elections which could determine the make up of the Senate and whether the Republicans or the Democrats hold control, President Biden has identified THE key issue. It's the first piece of legislation he wants to sign if the Democrats take control of the Senate. Can you guess what it is? And who will celebrate the loudest if Biden doesn't get his way.
Meet Chloe Cole. She’s 18 – and she is worth listening to – far more than any radical NZ politician, gender activist, or the Ministry of Health or radical doctor who wants to try and change the sex of a child with medicalisation and surgery. Chloe Cole is rapidly becoming one of the most powerful voices against transitioning children at a moment in which most politicians and media outlets lack the courage to speak out.
Italy has just voted in their first ever female Prime Minister. Normally the media would be praising and celebrating the appointment. Unfortunately, despite Giorgia Meloni’s capabilities, they are unwilling to deliver such flattery due to her ‘extreme’ views. You may be surprised at what they define as 'extreme'. Maybe not.
If you don’t bow down to today’s compulsory new ‘religion’ of sexuality & gender identity, and the support of killing children in the womb, you will be cancelled. If you hold to biblical views around sexuality, gender (male & female) or the sanctity of life, you will be cancelled. The so-called terminology of ‘tolerance and diversity’ is a crock. It’s meaningless. And that was made very clear just recently when a Christian was appointed CEO of the Aussie Rules club Essendon. Are you prepared for your 'even-if' moment?
Bob has returned from a conference in Hungary, and during that visit he met with representatives from a governmental pro-family thinktank, and also checked out some of the government’s pro-family policies. These policies are designed to strengthen families, promote marriage, and protect the unborn child – and also include a policy of no radical sexuality and gender material in schools! Perhaps we should send our political parties to have their respective annual conferences in Budapest next year.
WPATH stands for The World Professional Association for Transgender Health. WPATH 'guidelines' are considered the gold standard for the field of health care for those diagnosed with gender dysphoria. But critics say that WPATH cites flawed, cherry-picked studies to support their conclusions, and betrays a strong bias toward studies promoting social and medical transition, and ignoring detransitioning and desistance. They're also at odds with a growing number of medical professionals and groups around the world who are sounding growing concern around the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgery on young people. Why should this concern you? It's because transgender research and policy in New Zealand comes out of the University of Waikato’s Transgender Health Research Lab. Unfortunately, the unit is driven by activists and an agenda, and the director just happens to be on the Executive Committee of WPATH.
The Ministry of Health quietly changed their advice last week on the safety of puberty blockers. It's a stunning turnaround, especially when the rest of the world is sounding growing caution around the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgery for young people who have gender dysphoria. It's time New Zealand adopted a do-no-harm approach rather than cowtowed to gender activists. It’s time we had watchful waiting, therapy, and healing of the mind - rather than chemicals and castration.
We need more men to speak up for human rights. The human rights of the unborn little girl or boy. Men who lead, protect, and are not intimidated by the abortion supporters saying that men cannot have a voice when it comes to the topic of abortion! Like this guy......
In last week’s edition of the NZ Listener was an essay by Charlotte Paul, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the University of Otago. In the article, she rightly argued that because other countries have reviewed their use of puberty blockers for young people, New Zealand should also. She also said that she was writing the article because her colleagues were too afraid of potentially damaging their reputations by speaking up. And that tells you everything about the toxicity of gender activists pushing a dangerous agenda on our young people.
One of the major concerns around the assisted suicide / euthanasia law is that the law relies on a diagnosis that a person suffers from a terminal illness which is “likely” to end his or her life within six months. But there’s a problem with that. A major problem. We are not God (even though some people would like to think they are.) There are many examples of individuals who have outlived their prognoses – sometimes by months, even years.
Warning - contains offensive language Disney has taken yet another dangerous step with its new animated sitcom series, "Little Demon". Disney describes the storyline as follows: “Thirteen years after being impregnated by Satan, a reluctant mother and her Antichrist daughter attempt to live an ordinary life.” Listen to what warnings from a New York pastor, a US congressman, and and Dr. Ted Baehr, a Hollywood mainstay and the founder of Movieguide. This is no longer a game.
Over the past couple of weeks, we've been exposing just how extreme and harmful the sexuality and gender ideology is in schools. It's been sanctioned by the Ministry of Education with the support of radical groups like Family Planning and RainbowYouth. But parents have started to speak up and voice their concerns and objections. And the results have been superb. Have you spoken with your school yet?
We’re told that if we don’t ‘affirm’ young people with gender dysphoria towards puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, that they will suffer mental harm. But detransitioners are painting a very different picture. Transitioning leads to both physical and mental harm. This case (amongst a growing list of examples) proves that.
In 2020, UNICEF ranked New Zealand last of 38 developed countries in child mental well-being. And when you look at the data, it’s pretty depressing reading. NZ has the worst youth suicide, self-harm and bullying statistics. Mental disorders have risen significantly, as has consumption of antidepressants and anti-psychotics. These increases are above what is occurring in the general population. We’ve just released a report on it.
The transgender propaganda continues – and the worst part is that it is exploiting and harming very young vulnerable children. It's coming not just from the media and gender activists, but even from children's hospitals and some mainline denominations. No wonder our children are confused. Adults who should know better have lost their way and forgotten biological truth.
Left wing website "The Spinoff" recently did a pro-abortion story – which is no surprise that they’re pushing that narrative – but it was the facts buried in the middle of the report that told the real story. A pro life story! As retired specialist gynecologist & obstetrician Dr Norman MacLean NZOM says, performing abortions is not the life giving, healing medicine that most medical professionals want to practice.
Exposed - Concerned mum warns other parents about radical sex education (propaganda) in New Zealand schools. We were alerted to some highly offensive sex education material that had been shared with a class of 11-12 year olds. It was so shocking that some of you rightly thought surely this can’t be true. We speak to one of the parents whose 12 year old daughter - along with her classmates - were exposed to this material. She's not the only parent who has contacted us - and it's not the only school either!
Earlier this week, we sent out a new Fact Sheet that we had developed exposing the radical sexuality and gender fluidity indoctrination that activists and the Ministry of Education want in as many schools as possible. Five minutes after sending it out we were alerted to some highly offensive material that had been shared in a class of 11-12 year olds. It was so shocking that some of you thought – surely this can’t be true. But sadly it is. And we actually shouldn’t be surprised.
We highlight a new Family First resource explaining the gender theory & sexuality curriculum which is rife in our schools. The Government declared at the beginning of 2022 that they were launching a new offensive to push radical sexuality and gender ideology at your children. There is a renewed effort by the Ministry of Education and activists to fully embed the programme in all schools at all levels. Let's not leave the door open for our children to be taught about sexuality and gender theory by the voices of people whose agendas and values don’t align with ours. It’s time to push back – for the sake of our children.
We highlight a new Family First resource just released on the new 'conversion therapy' law. It’s a guide for parents, pastors and counsellors as to what the law says and its implications. We’ve also gone to a leading public law lawyer for advice and we include their legal advice in the Fact Sheet. To be frank, it’s fairly disturbing reading. While gender and sexuality is supposedly ‘fluid’, activists want the law to stipulate that it can only go in the direction they approve. Yet again, the state wants to dictate how you raise your children, and even how you live your life.
Clara was the result of a teen pregnancy outside of wedlock. She is very thankful her mother chose life - her life. But as she watched the media coverage of the recent and momentous Roe v Wade decision in the US Supreme Court, it quickly became evident that virtually all the mainstream media in New Zealand were furious with the decision, were strongly pro-abortion, and that anyone like Clara and millions of others who hold the view that the unborn child has a right to life, and that abortion harms both the child and the mother, should be silenced – and that their view meant nothing. And an in-depth analysis of the media coverage backs up her perception of the coverage. It found that the significant media coverage by the NZ mainstream media was very heavily bias (82%) to a pro-abortion narrative.
Clara says we deserve better from the media.
The Government along with the Greens and Maori Party have scrapped the Three Strikes Law in the middle of a crime wave of gangs, guns and ram raids. Did they have a public mandate to do it? And what type of criminal is actually being caught under the law? Nick Tuitasi also gives an amusing demonstration of how a 3-strike law works.
In the midst of a crime wave involving gang turf battles, gun crimes and violent ram raids, the Government along with the Greens and the Maori Party have responded by scrapping the law that specifically targets repeat violent offenders - all of whom have a track record even before getting caught. In a previous issue of Family Matters, Bob presented the evidence for why the law is working and should have been retained.
The first official report on the assisted suicide law in NZ has been released. It only covers the first five months of the law, so it's difficult to determine any trends. But what has been interesting is the comments made by euthanasia supporters about the law already needing to be expanded to allow for even non-terminal patients to access it. And the media only seems to want to tell us the 'good' stories about assisted suicide - but they ignore the 'not-so-happy' ones.
Remember the claims made by pro-drug activists in support of cannabis legalisation in New Zealand. According to the Government, the Green Party, NZ Drug Foundation and Helen Clark Foundation, we were supposed believe that legalising recreational cannabis would lead to significant health benefits, reduced black market, no increase in usage, reduction in mental health issues, reduced crime and so on. Thankfully, the majority of us weren’t fooled into believing this, and voted No. And there is continued mounting evidence refuting those pro-cannabis claims. Here's five key ones just from the last month.
Jeannette Cooper, a former teacher and now a Ph.D. candidate in education at DePaul University, never imagined she’d lose custody of her child. But when, at age 12, Sophia suddenly claimed to be transgender, Jeannette was skeptical. But Sophia insisted, not only that she was trans, but that she was ‘unsafe’ around Jeannette. What followed was a disturbing series of court proceedings and therapy sessions. Nearly three years later, Jeannette can’t even visit with the daughter she loves, but can only communicate with Sophia by U.S. Mail. All because she insists that Sophia is a girl.
On the back of two great decisions last week including the closing of the Tavistock transgender clinic in the UK, and the US FDA slapping a warning label on puberty blockers, Californian teenager Chloe tells her story of puberty blockers at 13, a double mastectomy at 15. And why she detransitioned back to her biological sex.
It appears that we may be reaching the tipping point in the transgender agenda which is harming and confusing so many young people. Two key things happened last week which the NZ media didn’t seem that keen to talk about. But we are. One is the shutting down of the UK's Tavistock transgender clinic after a review found it is "not safe" for children. The other is the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the USA issuing a warning label about the risk of puberty blockers. Will common sense finally prevail?
According to new polling, families are struggling to pay for essential items such as petrol, food and utilities. They’re also concerned about the effects the cost of living crisis is having on their communities. If families are expected to meet their budget, be accountable for what they spend, and not waste money, shouldn’t the government also?
Ronji Tanielu is a die-hard Manly supporter, a Samoan, and an evangelist. He shares his views on the stand being made by the seven Manly players regarding the wearing of the 'Pride' jersey.
Why have you heard so much about Israel Folau and the Manly players, but not about Haneen Zreika or Fawad Ahmed. They're all Australian sportspeople, but the media have treated them very differently. Guess why? The gospel of diversity, inclusion and equality (DIE) fails before it begins because contrary to its claim of 'diversity, inclusion and equality', the diverse opinion that there are biblical beliefs around sexuality, male and female, and marriage must be shut down. This new sexual and gender identity is so fragile it must be reinforced by the state. It must be rammed down by the media. It must be mandated by woke businesses.
Our children are back to school for the start of term 3. But are they going to be educated or indoctrinated - and is that indoctrination just in schools? Where is this gender ideology ultimately coming from?
On TVNZ Q&A at the weekend, I discussed with host Jack Tame the reasons that the Supreme Court decision to deregister Family First was inconsistent, unfair and problematic.
On TVNZ Q&A at the weekend, I discussed the reasons that Roe v Wade being overturned was a superb decision. Have a watch. To Jack Tame’s credit (and to the mainstream media’s shame), it’s one of the few times that this viewpoint has been allowed to be expressed in the media since the overturning of Roe.
Current events programmes should be balanced and present both sides so that viewers can come to their own conclusion – based on the evidence and the arguments & counter arguments. But TVNZ’s Sunday programme isn’t too good at this. In their episode on drug testing last weekend, what Sunday programme didn’t do was allow the contrary view – the view opposing drug testing. The view which says that drug testing simply allows drug takers to play Russian roulette with their lives and that there is no such thing as a safe drug. Watch the view that Sunday programme didn’t want you to see.
Gang-related shootings, stabbings and the use of firearms in general – including against our police – have become disturbingly normal. Firearm-related offences are nearly double that of just 10 years ago. And family violence is also sadly on the increase. Family First has released a short video clip to highlight the urgency of this issue. The focus always seems to be on the interest and well-being of the criminal and no mention of the rights and welfare of victims. It’s time we stopped being soft on crime, because crime is tough on families.
“Family First is being deregistered for engaging in the democratic process. It has not broken any laws”. Yet more expert opinion, expressing concerns about the court ruling to de-register Family First. Sue Barker is a barrister and solicitor, and expert in charities law. She says: “if Family First can be deregistered for engaging in the democratic process, my concern is that any charity can be” … “what we are really undermining is our democracy”.
The Supreme Court has supported the decision by the Government to deregister Family First as a charity. This is after the Government appealed an earlier decision (2020) by the Court of Appeal in favour of Family First retaining its charitable status. There have been four court cases over the last decade attempting to resolve this issue. The reasoning behind the Supreme Court overruling the decision of the Court of Appeal, and the justification for deregistering Family First, should concern anyone who values free speech and traditional / conservative views around family & marriage.
Please listen to this important interview with Heather Duplessis Allen, as Bob McCoskrie discusses the full implications of today's Supreme Court's ruling to remove Family First's charitable status. We will use this court ruling as an incentive to grow stronger in our support for families. Thank you for your enduring support.
The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned the Roe v Wade case that legalised abortion at any stage of the pregnancy. See how the NZ media went into meltdown over it. Listen to the wise and considered words of pediatrician Dr Ben Carson. And meet a wonderful woman who campaigned all her life for this momentous day.
Sporting codes around the world are starting to wake up to the fact that biology matters in sports, and that fairness should be given more weight than the wokeness of ‘inclusion’. It’s been a good week for sports - and especially for female competitors.
Would it surprise you if drag queens were now being ordained as ministers in churches? The hyper-sexualised and gender confused indoctrination is being targeted at our children – in schools, in libraries, and even in some churches that have lost their way. It’s time to push back.
If you listened to and watched the media coverage on the transgender issue related to our children, you would think that if you believe that a boy is born a boy and a girl is born a girl, and if you oppose any indoctrination that 'you can choose your sex, it must mean you are completely out of touch with reality and public opinion. Maybe it’s time to think again. You’re actually with a strong majority who want children to be told the biological truth and to be affirmed with the gender they were born with.
The media already has an issue of trust. Here's an episode on both dodgy research and dodgy media 'reporting'... A recent Stuff article on the conversion therapy bill was taken to the Media Council who agreed with a number of concerns about the accuracy and integrity of both the research quoted and the reporting of it. It’s a good example of the media tripping over their own ideology to push a narrative. It’s also a good example of dodgy research by activists.
Drug advocates in NZ want a decriminalisation and health approach to drug use, yet ironically this approach does not appear to be favoured by many drug users. The number of drug users wanting to engage with the Government’s recommended health referral service is "abysmally low". We also only need to look overseas at recent examples of this policy approach to see what liberalised drug laws actually look like in reality.
The woke are looking for any children's books that don’t tick the critical theory intersectionality boxes of race, ethnicity, gender, LGBTQ identity or some other minority identity. And the list of naughty naughty books is growing! "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", "Hairy Maclary" and "The Tiger Who Came to Tea" are now being targeted.
The NZ Herald article read “Serial sperm donor Kyle Gordy will soon have 58 kids - and is coming to NZ”. The article was a good example of everything that can go wrong with sperm donation. Despite the greatest intentions of the lawmakers, there’s no mandate that a donor is to be involved - or will want to be involved - in the child’s life. It may still effectively be anonymous, except for the disclosure of some of their genetic origin. But children have a deep longing to know who they belong to, where they come from, and who they look like. It's time we put their rights front and center in this discussion.
Because of an adverse childhood experience, Leao Tildsley struggled with her gender identity. But it was counselling and trusted church support that helped her find the healing she needed. But turning to someone in a time of confusion and hurt could now be a criminal offence.
Everybody's talking about surrogacy at the moment. The Law Commission. The politicians. The media. But the question that nobody seems to be asking is - should we be making sperm & egg donation and surrogacy (both traditional & gestational) more accessible? Does the discussion focus too much on the rights and needs of adults, with not enough weight being given to the rights and needs of the child?
Our children are being bombarded by hyper-sexuality and gender-confusion messaging 24/7. Online. In the classroom. Everywhere. And now there’s a new show targeting young children - drag queens. But drag queens are an adult expression of LGBT communities. Even they admit that. It’s time to push back and say "no thanks".
Our first guest contributor Marianne Davidson-Beker sent us her short video presentation on why she opposes abortion, and explains why the "right to choose" and "my body my choice" arguments don't work. [Have you got something to say on an issue? Send us your video (3-5 minutes). It doesn't have to be flashy or super technical in production. We’re more interested in the content of what's being said. You never know. You might be one of our guest contributors on McBlog! Email it to bob@familyfirst.org.nz
June 2022: The Law Commission has just released its review of surrogacy laws in New Zealand, and argues that surrogacy and sperm & egg donation is a legitimate form of family building that requires a specific legal framework to promote and protect the rights and interests of surrogate-born children, surrogates and intended parents. There’s also a private members bill by Labour MP Tamati Coffey to make surrogacy easier which is currently before a Select Committee. But the question that nobody seems to be asking is - should we be making surrogacy and sperm donation “easier”? Are we truly considering the rights of the child?
What is it like to find out that your true biological father’s only involvement in your life was the donation of his sperm? How do you deal with the feeling of loss and rejection from your biological mother who is labelled as your ‘surrogate’ or ‘gestational carrier’? Is it normal that when you see someone who resembles you, you wonder if they are related? Can you be blamed for feeling disturbed that some money or a contract may have been involved in your conception? What if the biological parent or parents don’t want any contact?
Popular American comedian Bill Maher who says he is an avowed atheist has joined others from the left in raising concerns about the 'transgender trend' – especially as it relates to our children. When even socially liberal people are questioning something which has always been labelled 'bigoted' and 'transphobic' if you dare oppose, then it’s worth checking out and listening to – because they’re a brave person to challenge their own.
With the possibility that the atrocious Roe v Wade case - which has resulted in millions of unborn US children being killed in the womb - may be overturned, the Democrats attempted to introduce a new law to supersede the possible Supreme Court decision. But the proposed law was more extreme than Roe v Wade, and very similar to another country’s liberal & radical abortion law. Guess whose.
We all want to be woke. It’s the ultimate in being human today. Being woke means waking up to the cause. What cause? Every far-left, radical, communist, Marxist cause you can think of. The entire agenda of the Left. In this special episode of McBlog, we take an amusing look at the keys to being woke.
Iisha Harris is a kiwi 9 year old who has written and performed a wonderful song for young people about mental health. We wanted to share the music video with you.
Universities always used to be the bastion of free speech – even radicalism and protest. But they’ve slowly changed to being woke, fragile, and only able to handle left wing views. Parliament recently reinforced that when they voted down a proposed bill to ensure free speech on campuses in NZ – but there was one superb speech which nailed the real issue. You’ve got to hear it.
BEWARE: Propaganda can come from all quarters. It’s our job to research and sift out the fake stuff and find the credible stuff. The problem for “The Disinformation Project” is that within possibly some very valid facts and research, they clearly disagree with a morally conservative or traditional worldview. That’s probably why the media love them. And that’s why you should treat The Disinformation Project” information with extreme caution.
It's very likely you haven't heard of Haneen Zreika or Idrissa Gueye. But it's highly likely you’ve heard of Israel Folau and Margaret Court. They're all sportspeople who have expressed their faith publicly – but the media have treated them very differently. Can you guess why?
Disney has been captured by a small radical LGBTQQIP2SAA+ movement and is doing all it can to indoctrinate children as young as possible in this sexualised and gender confused agenda. Walt Disney’s dream has gone up in smoke, from wonderful to “woke.” For parents hoping that Disney will provide their children with family-friendly entertainment like they had growing up, think again.
Most parents tell their children – Always tell the truth. If you’ve done nothing wrong, you’ve got nothing to hide or worry about. So does the right to silence law actually hide the truth and mean that people can get away with murder? The rights of victims to justice and the urgent need for offenders to be held accountable far outweighs the right to silence and other privileges that families may seek to use to mask their guilt or involvement.
Why would a teacher who loves teaching quit her job? Keli's answer should alarm us all. We need to stand with teachers like Keli – teachers who are in the state education system and who reject the radical gender and racial ideology being pushed in schools. This material is not what parents want, and it's definitely not what children need. We need to lock arms with teachers, educators and principals who agree with the concerns of parents. It's time to push back.
You probably weren't aware but yesterday was International Day of Families - the day the UN chose to promote awareness of issues relating to families. And the reason you probably weren't aware was because the major media outlets in New Zealand didn't mention it - unlike their coverage of International Women's Day. But strong families matter. Even the UN can figure that out.
Johnny the Walrus was written by conservative political commentator Matt Walsh. The book quickly became one of Amazon's Best Sellers in LGBTQ+ Books, before being removed from that categorisation. The book allegorically compares being transgender to pretending to be a walrus, but Amazon staff have been 'traumatised' by it and want to see it banned from the platform altogether.
According to the latest statistics, kiwi families are marrying less, and having less children. In fact, both our marriage rate and our fertility rate have reached an all-time low. Should we be worried? We say, yes!
Last week we found out that the 1973 abortion case Roe v Wade which effectively allowed abortion anywhere anytime in the US may be overturned and that the decision making process would go back to individual states. Abortion activists are enraged that their right to kill the unborn child could be impacted. But it’s been amusing to watch the pro-abortion and radical left trip over themselves in their spin & rhetoric.
Yesterday a draft opinion of Dobbs v. Jackson, the U.S. Supreme Court case that would overturn Roe v. Wade, was leaked. Five Justices are poised to invalidate the disastrous 1973 Roe v Wade decision that led to the deaths of over 63 million preborn children in the US. Abortion activists (including President Biden) are enraged that their right to kill the unborn child anytime up to birth could be impacted.
In the third of a three part series, we give you the tools to 'push back' on the harmful and flawed sexuality and gender ideology being pushed in the school curriculum by the Government, Ministry of Education and outside groups such as Family Planning. Parents need to be the loudest voice on this topic, and not leave the door open for the voices of radical groups and ideologies that don't align with your values. It's time to pushback - for the sake of our children.
The Government is launching a new offensive to push radical sexuality and gender ideology at your children. As part of this three-part series, in this episode we show you some highly disturbing content contained in the Family Planning Association resource which may find its way into your child's classroom – but only if you let it. You’ll be shocked by what you see.
Parents – be warned. The Government is launching a new offensive to push radical sexuality and gender ideology at your children and over the next couple of episodes, we'll give you a quick snapshot of the material you need to be aware of. If you’re a parent or caregiver with children at school, you need to take notice - and then 'push back'.
What you won’t hear much about in the media is 'detransitioners' – people who go back to their biological sex after thinking or being persuaded that the solution to their confusion and pain is to take puberty blockers, wear chest binders, take cross sex hormones and then cut parts of their body. But the movement against the transgender trend is growing by the day – and the testimonies are so important for us to listen to.
Marriage 'equality' – it’s all about love. Love is love - apparently. But does that include marrying bridges? Rocks? Fictional characters? Marrying yourself? You may be surprised at just how wacky it's getting.
Can you hear that? It's the sound of weeping and gnashing of teeth. Billionaire Elon Musk has just purchased Twitter, and the left are in meltdown because the new owner wants the free speech platform to actually allow free speech!
Senior Disney creators and now the CEO say that Disney is regularly "adding queerness" to children's programming. According to Duke University, "queerness" is now LGBTQQIP2SAA - lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, pansexual, two-spirit (2S), androgynous and asexual. So when they say “adding queerness”, it’s the indoctrination of all these things. Remember, we’re talking about indoctrinating children. But it's not just Disney that parents need to be monitoring.
Billionaire Elon Musk is attempting to purchase Twitter because he is sick of its left-wing bias, and he wants the platform to allow free speech and to be more transparent about its decisions. But the left are not happy, because Twitter has traditionally been the weapon of choice for the left and the legacy media. We hope Musk is successful. Free speech is vital in the public square of social media.
Breaking News – we have official proof that the Ministry of Health no longer understands biology. Plunket gets it and so does the College of Midwives, but last week, the Health Ministry not only lost their Director-General, they also lost their way. But they weren't the only group to trip up on gender ideology. It's all quite amusing - and exhausting!
If you thought Amnesty International Aotearoa NZ were about human rights, you might need to rethink that one. We examine their views on abortion, prostitution, gender ideology, 'conversion therapy' bans and antisemitism. It seems that human rights are not for everyone.
President Biden's administration released a series of documents last week which shows just how radical and dangerous the current White House administration is when it comes to radical gender ideology – especially for children. They are captive to a dangerous radical leftist sexual agenda - the same agenda that can’t even define the word “woman”.
Disney's response to the new Florida law (which protects children from radical sexuality & gender indoctrination), and a bombshell recording last week of a Disney meeting, reveals that Disney has picked a side to be on in the culture wars of sexual & gender ideology and indoctrination. Now it’s time for parents to pick which side they want to be on in order to protect their children. You’ll be shocked by just how radical Disney is becoming.
You may have heard about a 'terrible' bill just signed into law in Florida. It’s called the ‘don’t say gay’ bill. Well, that’s what the radical left, woke companies like Disney, and most of the mainstream media called it. Only one problem. The bill doesn’t say that. In fact, its such a good bill, we should have it in New Zealand.
When claims of criminal activity are being made and then reported in the media, you would expect there to be some level of corroboration, research to ensure its veracity, some physical evidence, at least a report to the police. It doesn't seem too much to ask of our media. Or is it? Watch a recent example reported in the media which seemed to be more about pushing a narrative - and then see the shocking response of the NZ Media Council to a complaint.
There’s been a huge furore around the issue of transgender women – in other words, biological males – competing against females in various sports including swimming, weightlifting and athletics. What happens when you compare the athletics and swimming times of teenage boys against female Olympians? You probably won't be surprised by the results.
President Biden promised to specifically appoint a "black woman" to the US Supreme Court. During her confirmation hearing, this "black woman" was asked to define the word "woman". Pretty simple. She was nominated partly because of this definition! Watch what happens when leftist woke gender ideology meets biology. It all gets a bit tricky to answer. [The word 'woman' and 'female' is also used many times in New Zealand legislation. including the Crime Act, the Equal Pay Act and the Property (Relationships) Act.]
Here's a list of books that should be banned under woke hate speech-type laws. What books do you have that need to be immediately burnt under the altar of wokism and virtue signalling? Send your list through. Make sure you include the reason for the book being banned so we can see just how woke you are.
Some schools are encouraging children to keep secrets from their parents - including the use of preferred pronouns (as part of identifying as the opposite sex) and accessing an abortion. It's time that parents put the state in its place and reminded them who the parents actually are.
There’s a movement that you’ll never have heard of. People who detransition. They go back to their biological sex after a period of gender dysphoria – of trying to be the opposite sex - sometimes after operations and chemicals and chest binding. But you won’t have heard about them. Gender activists do everything they can to hide these stories from you. Not any more.
If you thought that the World Health Organisation (WHO) was a reliable credible health organisation who understood biology and science, then think again. Their recent actions prove just how cautious we should be and how questionable their credibility is when it comes to health.
Spark and Stats NZ are quickly proving that government and businesses are more interested in woke ideology rather than factual biological-based data collection. But experts say that there is a great need to identify biologic and physiologic differences between men and women and to understand the implications of the differences for health and social policy development. But never mind that. We can mask the data, mask the truth, mask the biology - but be real woke.
There’s an interesting trend of political and media celebrities who are very pro-abortion – the woman’s right to choose (but not the unborn child’s right, of course) – and demanding that abortion laws be liberalised to allow for abortion up to full term for any reason – as we tragically have now in NZ. But then these very same people become very pro-life -and champions for the unborn child. What happened?
Earlier this week it was International Women's Day! But what happens if politicians can’t actually define what they mean by “women”. It all gets a bit tricky doesn’t it.
President Joe Biden used the State of the Union speech last week to promote abortion under the guise of "healthcare" and "women's rights" - ignoring the "rights" and "healthcare" of the unborn little girl (and boy). Contrast Biden's comments and agenda with the previous President's. It's like night and day. Which President would the unborn child be voting for?
There is a severely misguided and disturbing effort to normalise sexual attraction to children. The movement is even going so far as to claim that 'paedophilia' should be renamed and understood as a sexual orientation. Their goal is to remove the stigma. But the stigma is there for a good reason. It’s a healthy stigma which hopefully redirects the offender, but more importantly, attempts to protect the victim.
The latest edition of the magazine for the Royal NZ College of GPs features a disturbing article which promotes the use of non-gendered terms such as "pregnant person" and cancels the term "mother" during the birthing process. But it also tries to promote and normalise polyamory. Should we be surprised at this push to redefine relationships & marriage even further? Not really. It's been happening for a while now. We did warn you.
In a hilarious (meant to be serious) speech at a recent Oxford Union debate, vegan feminist, author & animal rights advocate Carol Adams used Critical Theory to make meat eaters feel really really bad. Do you feel bad now? (BBQ at our place to discuss further)
At a time when there are so many health-based funding and resourcing needs throughout New Zealand for beds, ICUs, doctors, nurses, local GPs and mental health services, the Government proudly announced a new initiative yesterday - which revealed a lot about their priorities, and their ignorance of humanity.
The LA Times newspaper endorsed the referendum 'Prop 64' in 2016 which resulted in cannabis being legalised for recreational use in California. Five years later, they have to admit that very little about the proposition is actually working as promised. And new research has continued to highlight the harms of cannabis use - including acute cognitive impairments and psychosis.
Adele won the "Artist of the Year" at the Brits Awards in the UK last week. But she caused a furore with her speech when she said how much she loved "being a woman". Meanwhile, the Girl Guides in Australia are struggling with how to define the term "girl". See how ridiculous gender activism is getting.
The media and politicians seem to be quick to label things as "misinformation" and "disinformation"? But who defines what is "misinformation"? Watch some very interesting examples of the shifting sand.
Whoopi Goldberg is a big supporter of Critical Race Theory – but Whoopi did a whoops recently – and it showed just how flawed Critical Race Theory actually is. It was a spectacular own goal.
“This Is Us” actress Milana Vayntrub decided to share the details of her abortion story because she’s haunted by the prospect of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. While we expect Hollywood to push a pro-abortion message which ignores biology and the rights of the unborn child, the Washington Post also went looking for small liberal (and confused) churches . They managed to find one.
You'll see the confusion for yourself.
But it’s not us saying this. It’s people from the media! Veteran producer Tara Henley, who resigned from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (public broadcaster) last month, says that the network has abandoned journalistic integrity to embrace "a radical political agenda."
Significantly, she says "It used to be that I was the one furthest to the left in any newsroom, occasionally causing strain in story meetings with my views on issues like the housing crisis. I am now easily the most conservative, frequently sparking tension by questioning identity politics. This happened in the span of about 18 months. My own politics did not change."
Have a listen to her concerns - and warnings - which more and more in the media are starting to find the freedom to express in public.
Euthanasia has only been legal in New Zealand for less than three months, but already we are seeing some disturbing trends, including the speed with which someone can request and then receive it (despite claims that this was unlikely to happen). And check out the Ministry of Health’s (and Newshub’s) spectacular own goal!
Are you guilty of using "non-inclusive" language? Naughty you!! The University of Washington in Seattle has released a list of words to "replace racist, sexist, ageist, ableist, homophobic (add transphobic) or otherwise non-inclusive language".
Find out whether you've been a naughty boy... er..... girl..... er..... person.
“Jessica then Tova” is now almost as much kiwi slang as the phrase “yeah right”. There’s even merchandise available based around it.
But did you know where it came from? We don’t want to skite, but…
Sporting competitions from time immemorial have segregated men and women. To do otherwise would give men an unfair advantage due to physical difference. But in the brave new and confused world of 'gender ideology', the accomplishments of female athletes are being undermined.
Here's the latest example - this time in the sport of swimming.
Despite all the more pressing social needs such as crime, homelessness, drug abuse and inequality, California wants to create a “sanctuary” for abortion. Not only is that an oxymoron (to call it a “sanctuary”) but it shows their obsession with killing the unborn child.
“Critical race theory” is a radical and dangerous new way of thinking about human identity and value. Depending on your race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, gender identity and disability, or a combination of those – termed as intersectionality – you ARE the victim. You HAVE been oppressed. The recent Jussie Smollett in the USA case highlights the flaws in this theory.
Bob shares an enlightening video about abortion rights that he received over the weekend. He also exposes the confusion and contradictions in the weekend column by Stuff's Andrea Vance attacking Christopher Luxon's views on abortion.
Parliament this week passed a law that renders birth certificates as meaningless, and which continues the relentless push to nullify biological sex, and the scientific accuracy of male and female.
A new well-intentioned Government strategy aims to eliminate family and sexual violence. Unfortunately, it fails to deal with a number of 'elephants in the room', and will simply add to the list of failed attempts by Governments over the past 4-5 decades.
When the Government is developing policies around important social issues, the statistics that are being used to justify the policy should add to the credibility of the message. But in a number of cases, the opposite has happened.
In 2020, the majority of politicians (who ironically are already born) voted in one of the world's most extreme abortion laws - but they did a very good job of hiding its true effect. It's time to expose their campaign of misinformation.
Most of the mainstream media were in full attack mode on the new leader of the National Party - because of his Christian faith and his views on abortion, euthanasia and cannabis. When was an atheist last challenged about their values?
Political commentators labelled the actions of the Government this week as a "constitutional disgrace". What were they referring to, and should we be concerned?
The Government wants to scrap the 'Three Strikes' law, saying that “the public don’t like this law”. A poll has found that just 25% of New Zealanders want the ‘Three Strikes’ law repealed, including just 29% of Labour voters. Almost half of Labour voters want the law retained.
And is the law working?
Some media in the media are raising the red flag about the Government controlling the narrative - via the media!
We should all be concerned by that.
The NZ media are showing a selective silence on some key issues. Even ex-journalists are expressing concern.
The broadcasting watchdog (BSA) has said that they no longer will consider complaints of bias against a broadcaster. All the broadcaster has to argue is that the other side of the debate 'might' be heard on another programme or on another broadcasting platform. But kiwis are concerned that the media are not always reporting the fact, but rather, pushing their own narrative. Now that accountability is even less.
If the Broadcasting Standards Authority didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all. Their hypocrisy and flawed thinking is exposed in their latest policy statement.
