I had the absolute honor of interviewing my friend Jordan McClinton — who somehow manages to be a Husband, Father, Worship Pastor, and an archaeologist. (Yes, he can lead worship on Sunday and dig up ancient history on Monday. Overachiever? Maybe.)

I knew I had to get him on the show after hearing him talk about some of their latest discoveries—findings so wild they practically made my jaw drop. As I listened, I couldn’t shake the feeling that God was basically leaving “divine Easter eggs” in the dirt… His fingerprint is all over the place!

YOU CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!! Thats what I hear going into this episode......but, hang with us!! What in the world is Marxist Christianity? I had to look up the definition of "Marxist" when Duffy told me he had this on his heart to discuss....That's all I knew going into this episode....the definition of Marxism and the definition of Christianity. I was still perplexed. I'm very thankful for Duffy's brain. There was definitely a lot to unpack here and many new things that challenged what is happening today in the church and around us. We are called to UNITY, not DIVISION. Let's converse constructively. This isn't a knife-throwing competition to hit our believer brothers and sisters in the back......these are challenges to things that go against the very word of God! The question is, will we hear it, or ignore it? Come on......Let's hang out!!!

It would be irresponsible not to address this subject. The last thing we wanted to do was jump on the bandwagon, but it was weighing heavily on Daniel's heart to ask questions. Questions some may be too afraid to ask. That's the beauty of the 1LoveHTX Podcast......we don't get advertising budgets, we don't get paid, so we don't have to conform to anyone. We just get to sit down and have real conversations with 63 countries and each other as friends. What happened? What's happening? Where are we headed? What should we be on the lookout for? This is a heavy subject, NOT because it was Charlie Kirk, but because a HUMAN LIFE was taken because of HATE, and DISAGREEMENTS! As we said, it would be irresponsible if we didn't at least talk about it.......even crazier, it takes another turn. Wait for it!!

Another episode featuring Duffy’s brain! 🧠 As we talked about UFOs and other odd happenings, it sparked a conversation about the unique stories of the Bible, in particularly the celestial happenings of Jesus’ birth. Most of us have heard the stories of the Christmas star that guided the wise men, but there was so much more going on during that time. In this episode Duffy shares some other facts surrounding that event.

Our world is changing rapidly. Technology is advancing at lightning speed.....and there is so much chatter these days about the Aliens. I have to admit, since I was a kid, I've been intrigued by these little green men with bulbous heads and large saucer-like eyes. Now we are starting to hear that the government is starting to release secrets from places like Area-51 and more. As they are saying, it's the BIGGEST, worst-kept secret, and it needs to come out. The bigger question is, what are we as Christians supposed to make of all this? What if you don't believe in God? Duffy and I get a chance to talk openly and judgment-free. Although I believe in God, I have viewpoints from conversations I'm having with other friends who don't believe or think the way I do. Duffy and I get to have real conversations on this topic and try to make some sense of it all. This one gets a little interesting......so come on, let's have some fun!

The Bible is full of amazing messages of hope, warnings, stories of humanity, and our existence in relationship with God and each other.

During our episode “Silence is Golden”, a very strange story in scripture was referenced. This particular story we discussed was about the ancient city of Jericho, but not the part of the story that is familiar. (Jericho was over taken and literally fell to the ground because God’s people followed his direction). There is more to it….

Today we are looking deeper into God’s interaction with people who don’t believe.

Have you ever studied his character and learned more about how his absolute sovereignty?

This episode is going to reveal deeper insight to the CRAZY love God has for us ALL, and the fact that he is pursuing every single person in the history of creation.

Have you ever had a family member or close friend experience overwhelming grief or trauma?

Have you ever tried desperately to say something comforting only to discover everything sounds cliche’ and does little to nothing to bring peace.

It’s ok, we all struggle when people we love are struggling with loss. It is uncomfortable to be near someone who is sobbing because they have been through a life altering loss. We want to comfort but we can’t change anything. They have to process pain, and most times it a lengthy process.

What are some things to think about when we find ourselves in this situation? How can we help others we know who might be in the same situation with a friend or family member and feel hopeless? Silence can be a very loving response in these heartbreaking situations. There’s a lot of wisdom in the old saying “silence is golden”. Only a few of us manage that discipline well. Hopefully today’s podcast will help us grow in that discipline. Come hang out with us and we talk thru some of our experiences and talk about other suggestions.

This is an interview with Author and Speaker Matthew J. Wolak. When I was first introduced to him, I wasn’t too sure about the topic. I have had past issue with people working through father wounds. I know, sounds horrible, but I’ll explain. After speaking to Matthew prior to the interview, I was really taken back by the approach he took. It’s definitely a different spiritual approach that I can agree with and get behind. It’s such a great book and something that everyone can relate to. Sometimes we think about father wounds as just a son and dad issue, but it is definitely bigger than that. Women are affected by father wounds, and all of these tools, he speaks about can be used with many other types of wounds, to grandparents, to friends etc. We hope you enjoy this episode and grow more to understand the love of your one TRUE FATHER!!

We have the honor of meeting so many interesting people at events and hang time. I met Jon at a cigar bar as my business partner and I were just socializing with like minded individuals. Jon wrote a book called “Rebuild! Don’t Repair”, that God told him to write. The main purpose is to help us get unstuck!!! This was a SPECIAL engagement in Houston, TX for the PREMIER Book release of "Son of SouthTown" by Sonny Sandoval. We had an amazing first event with the Bands "SPOKEN", "RELENT", and "REBORN", all while Sonny met everyone, signed books, and took pics. 1LoveHTX had the honor of giving away 600 books to people through the Houston market over 3 days. We visited private events, bars, churches, and sober living homes. It was an amazing time. This interview was during the FIRST night in Houston. We gave the audience a chance to ask some questions while Sonny answered, Near the end of the interview, we also had a special guest, Mr Randall Reeder....an actor from the Hollywood Blockbuster, "DEADPOOL". In Matthew the 22nd chapter, there is a story of a great interaction with Jesus. It says

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

If we love the God with all of our heart, soul and mind, how then is it possible that we wouldn’t love others as ourselves?

The Bible is full of thoughtful interactions, just like this one with Jesus and the religious people of his day.

Jesus was an incredibly perfect example of God’s love for us. If we are to take him at his word, then we will grow in love for God. Then, out of that love, we will naturally love other people. Will we do it perfectly? NO….

But **Jesus literally loved us to death…. His own death on the cross. Man, that is always hard to wrap our head around. Much less our heart. Millions and millions of people have been impacted by Christ death on the cross. Few have died for the cause.

Join us as we discuss our own process of being a Christ follower and what it means to love others because we love God. This is gonna be a good one. We are happy you are here.**

Have you ever seen a great movie where the main character takes a chance and then something incredible develops? We all wish we had that kind of courage- to go “All-In” and put it ALL on the line. We are obsessed with these ideas in movies. We love watching it play out.

Our faith in God is challenged constantly in this same way. God is constantly inviting us to trust him. Trust his word. Receive wisdom. Get perspective that only he can give. He actually refers to it as “the Narrow path”

In this episode we are discussing PRAYER, but more on a relational and conversation level with "God the Father". The simple definition of prayer is, “time spent conversing with God”. We are invited to pray over all things. Jesus gave devoted time to prayer, and miracles happened as a result. We know prayer can give fresh perspective and direction, change our hearts and give us courage. The more time we devote to the activity of prayer, the stronger we become spiritually.

In the United States, we are just finishing a Presidential race that’s been historical. We aren’t interested in discussing politics directly but more as it relates to human behaviors. We always want our podcast to be a place for discussions of all kinds of topics that relate to our lives. This one can be difficult to navigate but it doesn’t have to be.

The truth is, we are all affected by the political climate in the U.S. and to some degree outside our country.

People have been on the edge of their seats all over the world because of what is transpiring in several different countries.

Natural disasters, poverty, wars....sometimes it seems the world is on fire!!

That being said, we have to talk about our hearts and devotion as Christians….. whether Democrat, Republican or Independent …..as Christians, what should it look like going forward? The world can be uncertain at times but Jesus said, "let not your heart be troubled". Let's talk about it!

Duffy and Daniel discuss some cool biblical stories that can help us understand and unify our thoughts.

God must be first… and we must love our neighbor if we want to survive and even thrive in the coming years.….. glad you are here!

Do you remember your first love?

Untouched by cynicism and the hurts of life. True love makes us want to go above and beyond to show how much we care; giving our attention to the relationship so it flourishes!

Oh the dreams we had…Reality often ruins these innocent moments. People fail us, and we fail them in return. Life is hard. Relationships can develop into obligations if we don’t make them priorities.

Our relationship with God is very similar. Salvation is incredible! It’s the greatest miracle. Finally, having our eyes opened to the freedom the relationship with Jesus brings is amazing!!

We have promises in scripture for new life and hope. It’s exciting!!!!

Time can take its toll.

Life can become routine and our relationship in Christ dulls.

God is faithful and he never changes. We stray away but he calls us back to himself time and time again!! Don’t miss that….. HE never stops chasing His bride…. US!!!

The Bible has some wild stories in it!
During this episode we are investigating a scene from the Bible, John chapter 21. Peter is given true revelation about his own death!
Seriously….
What would you do?? Jesus told him what was going to happen, and it wasn’t cotton candy and unicorns.
Jesus follower were loyal even into their own deaths. The time they spent with Jesus motivated them to speak the life changing truth of Jesus to as many people as they could. Christ disciples were amazing, courageous, devoted world changers.
Are you devoted to anything ?
There are 2 guarantees in life, our death and eternal life….

Somewhere.

The good news is, where you spend eternity is completely your choice.
(If you don’t believe that,
we are even more pumped you’re listening in.)
The ones who knew Jesus intimately sure believed it; and were willing to give their lives so we could have eye witness accounts of the greatest human who ever walked the earth.
Jesus!
What amazing hope he brings.
No matter where we are in life, we all have access to this kind of hope….a belief in something so much greater than anything we can experience or fathom here on earth, Let’s go!
This message is truly for anyone,
no matter what you believe.

Hero’s have fascinated human beings since the dawn of time. Real life, characters in movies, or folklore seem to absolutely captivate us. Take for example the Marvel Comics empire featuring hero’s like Iron Man, or Thor; but isn’t it funny how the bad guy always lives in the end for another round. There is a difference between a Hero and a Savior. A savior would be the ULTIMATE HERO to finish the story, and we have one fighting for us. The story is finished! He has won and we need not be afraid. The bad guy doesn’t want us to see this, so he tirelessly throws fear, guilt, pain and lies our way to take our eyes off the truth.
Do you know the truth?
Can you stand with certainty when these things come to take away your joy and promises? Today we discuss the reason why we don’t need to worry, but instead focus on complete victory. Even the evil challenger who stands against this savior totally believes HE is who HE says HE is. The bad guys fate is sealed.

We have heard so many questions about Salvation. How hard is it to get? Can it be lost? How do you know you are saved? What does the bible say? Why are there confusing stories? Is it really this hard? There is one story in particular where Jesus speaks of people in the final days saying, "We followed you. We did things in your name!", but Jesus responds....."I NEVER KNEW YOU!!" Wow, that seems so harsh! What was he talking about here. Join us as Duffy and Daniel discuss thoughts on this verse and others. The reality.......NO, ITS NOT THAT HARD and MAN HAS REALLY MESSED up A LOT OF THINGS! The Bible reflects the character of God in many ways. Sometimes thru descriptive text passages, and sometimes we learn thru stories of people encountering Jesus, angels or miracles. The book of Joshua chapter 5:13-14 says something interesting.

13) Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”
14) “Neither,” he replied,
“but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”
Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him,
“What message does my Lord have for his servant?”

Did you catch it? The subtle point that the Lord told Joshua he was not on his side or anyone else’s!

We have been losing sight of that characteristic of God for centuries.
God does not belong to anyone .

In today’s culture, a great deal of time is spent declaring what side we’re on, talking about who we are, or what we stand for. It’s exhausting!

There seems to be endless opinions without absolute truth.
This story in Joshua can help align our mind, heart, eyes and spirit to what truly matters …… God plan and His Will.

Wow, summer of 2024 has provided quite a lot of controversy.
For example, the attempted assassination of a former president of the USA, outrage over the opening ceremonies of the Olympics in Paris and continued wars. Even the earth is full of storms, volcanic eruptions and various natural disasters.
There seems to be an abundance of chaos globally.
Today’s podcast is a discussion of a how all these things affect human beings and how we respond to them.
We often talk through topics that are untouched in certain circles because they are hard to navigate. This will be no exception. With the abundance of information and opinions it’s easy to get confused, frustrated or even angry. Don’t get it twisted…
One definition of the word Twist is to distort or misrepresent.
Finding truth isn’t easy but we have some suggestions.

Throughout history, even people who didn’t believe Jesus was the son of God would agree that he was an amazing teacher, and lover of people. As true followers of Christ we constantly try to teach ourselves to be like him in this way… Lovers of people, all people. Sadly, this is also the area we fail miserably.
Today we talk about how to overcome the obstacles we naturally face when we’re trying to grow in our ability to love other people.
Like that really old song your grandma likes… “ what the world needs now is love”

People have observed our world is in desperate need of more love. Ultimately our Creator God wants us to love each other too.
Check out these words from the book of 1Corinthians

13 :1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecyand can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b]but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails.
God sent Jesus in love for us.

Have you ever tried to order a pizza with more than two people? It’s hard to agree on what toppings to pick. Free will and opinions are great features God gave us as humans and not to oversimplify it, but religion is kind of like pizza. There are many different religions throughout the world. All of them have the same goals to reach some higher being. So how do we interact with people who don’t agree with our pursuit of God. Sadly, sometimes we ostracize and criticize people. Have you ever heard two people arguing about religion? It’s weird, but it can get pretty nasty out there. Why? How do we handle it? Why do we always feel we need to be right? Isn’t the Lord big enough to take care of the details. Today we’re going to talk about all of this. Our hope is to promote a healthier way of representing God. After all, Jesus said “love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and love others as yourself”. So grab a piece of pizza and settle in, we’re delivering this one right to you! We had the honor of having a special guest and friend on today to tell her story and journey. It’s a powerful story of trauma and overcoming. Many people experience traumatic events and it begins to define the trajectory of their lives. Candice is a SURVIVOR and FIGHTER that has lived the opportunity available to us all; to experience the powerful restoration of life that God has for us. Think about this…our experiences with our fathers will influence our opinions of God. Even the greatest Dads can’t measure up to God our Heavenly Father!
If you have a good relationship with God and really know His character you’ll agree.
Sadly, That’s not always the case, I myself put God in a box, assuming he was displeased with me and unconcerned, until I was overcome by His love. My understanding of his character grows daily. So let talk it over. Is God a good or bad Father? Why doesn’t he intervene in the state of our world? Why do we suffer through traumatic experiences?There is a tension we all wrestle through with God.
We say this with conviction, you are very loved!

“Dead Man Walking” is a gripping film exploration of the death penalty and compassion.
In the movie, which is based on a true story, a nun becomes the spiritual advisor to the inmate on death row. Throughout the movie, there is a tension hanging as they become friends.
As you watch the plot unfold, your mind wrestles with being compassionate towards the inmate….
What’s this got to do with the podcast?
We have an INTERNAL judge and jury constantly monitoring our mind and heart. Depending on our circumstances, we may condemn ourselves frequently over daily life choices and experiences.
We can be pretty brutal towards ourselves.
Solitary confinement and negative self talk can convince us we are unworthy of love, friendship, and community. It can be an impermeable barrier between ourselves and humanity; as well as completely cutting us off from God.
Listen in as we talk through all the ways this effects our lives.

“Believe Me!“ is a statement we have heard or said many times in our lives. It’s usually connected to a sales pitch or recommendation, so naturally we may have some hesitation.
Jesus says in many places throughout the Bible “believe IN me”
That isn’t a sales pitch it’s a call to faith with an unmeasurable reward.
We receive our salvation through belief, our comfort, wisdom, faith, and many other things.

Salvation -what is it, what are we being “saved” from? What do I have to do to be saved? All questions we may have heard or even wrestled with in our lifetime.
The Bible tells us, Salvation is the greatest miracle and it is available to every single person on earth! We ALL can literally be a part of the greatest miracle!
So what’s the problem??? Our brain and behavior as a human race is completely jacked up sometimes. We love to complicate things by misinterpreting or adding things to the very simple message and perfect message…..
What do I have to do to be saved? Believe!

Seriously, the title says it all! One of our favorite things to do on the podcast is listen to our friends tell their stories. Today we are excited to introduce you to Paula Osbourne from the UK. She has been a great supporter of the podcast from the very beginning.
The Bible tells us salvation is the greatest miracle. When our spiritual eyes are finally open, everything becomes so clear. In this age of information. Anything we desire to know or see, is a click away. This creates another issue; information we aren’t even looking for starts to pop up on our feed.
Take the Bible for example you, could study and research the book your entire life and never run out of material; i.e. The actual content, archaeology, the authors, how the 66 books became contained in one, other books that were considered. With all of this comes opinions, debates, and conspiracy.
Just like everything else, people make their thoughts known today. The more the enemy can discredit the very word of God, the better chance he has at distracting followers.

Have you ever overheard a conversation between a parent and a very inquisitive child?“Why is the sky blue, why do birds fly… But why?But why ?!” And the conversation goes on and on. What about you?

Have you ever had uncomfortable questions about God and trouble finding someone safe to ask. Many times when people question the Bible or faith, they can’t gain understanding because no one is available or willing to travel down the road with them. Let’s face it, there are too many people on earth for us all to be made exactly the same. God does not require us to robotically follow him. Questions are allowed and encouraged.

According to culture of the time, He chose the lowliest of people, the shepherds. To the culture, they were “Nothing Special”. Have you ever walked thru a dog owners backyard that never picks up after the dog? “landmines” everywhere !
It’s pretty gross, but sometimes you end up with poop on your shoes… why would we intro this way? Offense is kind of like that; you just step in it without knowing. By the time we realize what is actually being said (and done) we can’t believe we didn’t notice.
Kind of like the ocean and plastic water bottles. There’s a doosie!
In part 1 of this series Duffy and Daniel discuss how culture is shifting and changing dramatically while everyone just casually sings along.

We just can’t process it all. Apathy is defined as “a lack of feeling interest, emotion, or concern”.
