The SMB Advertising podcast has an aim to “help 1,000,000 small and medium sized businesses advertise like a professional”. Today's episode is hosted by Mike Damnjanovic, who is an Adline specialist. His aim is to inspire, educate and help the listeners to succeed with advertising.

2022 can be described as riveting, in terms of “having the power to fix the attention”. When all competitors use the same advertising platform, it is all about standing out and being engrossing and fascinating. Although 2022 was an incredibly successful and instructive year, it has been a real rollercoaster. Now coming into 2023, this podcast will take on a whole new set of challenges and opportunities. We would love to have you with us, learning and growing throughout the year. During the year, we will invite a really exciting lineup of guests that will help us circumnavigate this bouquet of challenges.

In this very first episode of 2023, Carl-Wilhelm Vedvik (COO and Co-Founder of Adline) is today's guest, giving some tips about how to start preparing ads for 2023 and make it the best year so far:

1. Planning: Plan out all your campaigns for the whole year now in January. Ask yourself questions like:

  • Specifically, which seasons shall I run sales campaigns etc?
  • Am I going to have a Spring campaign? Summer campaign?
  • Am I going to run BFCM (Black Friday Cyber Monday) campaigns? Prepare now.
  • Set up campaign drafts and name them logically, so that you have them inside your account. When time comes, create the ads, set the budget and click start.

2. Prepare for a cookie-less world.

  • You will need to implement privacy policy routines.
  • Leverage other 3rd parties such as Adline to collect your own 1st party data.
  • We will come back to this in detail in a later episode.

3. Don’t downscale your marketing budget too much.

  • The long term impact of investing short term in marketing is what gives results. Consistency is everything. Maintain the marketing budget you have today, for the next year.

Happy New Year and hope you enjoy the podcast!
