Life in a small town can mean many things. Among them, they’re usually places that foster a sense of community. Everyone knows each other and people normally go above and beyond to help anyone in need. One of the greatest unsolved mysteries in the United States comes from one of these small towns. A town that had so much potential and was a true up and comer in the early 1900s had a shadow cast over it when in one fateful night in June of 1912 a family was murdered and to this day, the perpetrator of the murders has never been caught. Was it a person with a personal vendetta or living out some sick fantasy; or was this something much worse? On this weeks episode, we’ll travel to Iowa and examine the story surrounding the Villisca Axe Murders.
As the mystery still remains unsolved to this day, there will likely be no way that we'll ever know who killed the Moores and Stillingers. We're going to examine the backstory of the Moore Family, especially that of the patriarch Josiah. Then we'll get into the finding of the family and the sequence of events that followed. We'll discuss many of the theories surrounding who it could have possibly been and how the home is today. Often bearing the title of being one of the top 10 most haunted places in the United States you can only imagine that the spirits of those who were slain and possibly their killer stayed behind. Or, where such unspeakable evil happened - if it's not haunted by something darker.
