There is a big question out there in Taiwan about why the struggle is so great for Taiwanese to succeed in a foreign language; especially, English. This phenomenon isn't unique to Taiwan. In fact, countries like Korea, Japan, and China also experience these same barriers.
My guest today is a linguist AND foreign language polyglot, who despite growing up in Taiwan's education system has overcome the foreign language obstacle and has spread his knowledge and opportunities all across Taiwan and has started a very successful group, Polyglot.tw's. His name is Thierry Hsieh and I am very grateful for him to be here. Let's all give Thierry love and appreciation for joining Taiwanica.
Whether you’re Taiwanese or not, I think you’ll get a lot of insight from my conversation with Thierry that can help you realize a bit more about Taiwan overall. If you’re ready to learn how to cultivate others’ well-being without sacrificing your own, then let's tune into Episode 16 of Taiwanica!
