In 30+ years of endurance racing the range of emotions I have felt is wide and varied. Joy, sadness, elation, relief, pain, despair, satisfaction, competition, connection, adversity.
Sometimes racing can be transcendent. An almost out of body experience where despite the desire to stop you find a way to keep going.
As humans we love to see people overcome challenges. Racing provides drama, stories and raw emotion. It can break us down and expose our strength and weaknesses.
We could talk about this for hours, there's so much to unpack.
