Many years ago, whilst studying at University, I used to work in a bookmakers during the holidays. It was a wonderful, mind-broadening experience.

'Welshman' is a short story set in that environment. Although it is not a depiction of a specific event or specific individuals, it is the kind of scene that could quite easily be played out anywhere in the country.
