About Katherine Foley

Katherine Ellen Foley is an FDA reporter for POLITICO. Previously, she focused on health and medical research for Quartz, where she was a leading voice during the Covid-19 pandemic. She also covered various topics, including neurodegenerative disease, precision genetic medicine, fertility science, and e-cigarettes.

Katherine graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 2014 and earned her master’s degree in journalism from New York University’s Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting Program. Outside work, she co-leads the D.C. chapter of November Project, a free fitness community, and is an ultra-marathoner.
