This episode is a continuation of my platform that resolves on self-help, improvement, and coping with the world. Today I dive into a discussion about nutrition. However, instead of just telling you to go out and eat healthier, I focus on explaining why you need to eat healthier. I found this to be the main way I increased my motivation to eat healthier as well as improve my relationship with food. You may be wondering whether there is a brain power diet out there. Well, it turns out there is no special recipe per se. Instead, just realize that eating healthy is a major requirement for brain health. I take the time to respond to the following questions: “Can gut bacteria affect mental health?”, “what are prebiotics?”, and “what is the importance of fiber?” This will help you figure out how to increase neurotransmitters. These signally chemicals travel up to your brain and affect your mood. I’ll also briefly discuss the topic of “why is serotonin targeted by antidepressants” as well as where most of it comes from. There’s also a section in which vitamins and minerals are explained. I will also go over the relationship between nutrition and the immune system. Hopefully, you’ll be encouraged to eat better and realize that there is a lot of brain food for brain health out there.
