Have you ever found yourself thinking...
"I can't believe this is affecting me again."
"I thought I had moved on."
"Why am I still getting emotional about this?"
"Haven't I healed yet?"
One difficult conversation.
One unexpected trigger.
One moment of self-doubt.
And suddenly... you start questioning your entire healing journey. You wonder if all the work you've done... the books you've read... the therapy... the journaling... the reflection... has somehow disappeared overnight.
But what if that isn't true? What if the problem isn't that you're healing too slowly... it's that you're expecting healing to look flawless?
Hello beautiful soul,
Welcome back to another honest and deeply reflective episode of the Flight to Fulfillment Podcast—a space where we explore emotional healing, self-worth, and the hidden beliefs that shape the relationship we have with ourselves.
I'm your host, Ratika Seth, Life Enhancement Coach and founder of the Freedom Divas Hub—a community where women reconnect with themselves, rebuild self-trust, and create lives rooted in freedom, self-respect, and conscious choice.
Today's conversation is one I wish more women could hear.
Because somewhere along the way... healing stopped being a personal journey... and quietly became another standard to live up to. Another thing to get right. Another way to prove we're "doing the work." Today we're surrounded by conversations about healing.
We hear about healing childhood wounds.
Healing attachment styles.
Healing limiting beliefs.
Healing our nervous systems.
And while it's beautiful that emotional well-being is finally being talked about... there's also an invisible pressure that's crept in alongside it.
The pressure to always be emotionally calm.
Always self-aware.
Always regulated.
Always peaceful.
As though once you've started healing... you should never feel anxious again. Never overreact again. Never have another setback. Never cry over the same thing twice.
But that's not how healing works. Because healing doesn't turn you into someone who never struggles. It turns you into someone who no longer faces those struggles alone. Someone who knows how to hold herself with compassion... instead of shame. Someone who can pause... instead of react. Someone who can recover... instead of remain stuck. That's what healing changes.
One of the biggest misconceptions I see is this. People believe that if an old wound resurfaces... they've somehow gone backwards. But healing isn't measured by whether you're ever triggered again. It's measured by what you do when you are.
Years ago... you may have blamed yourself. Today... you become curious. Years ago... you might have shut down completely. Today... you ask for support. Years ago... one difficult day convinced you that you were broken. Today... it's simply one difficult day. That isn't failure. That's emotional growth.
Healing has never been a straight road. It unfolds in layers. Life has a remarkable way of bringing us back to familiar lessons... not because we didn't learn them... but because we're now ready to understand them more deeply. Every season asks something different of us. Every chapter reveals another part of ourselves waiting to be loved.
So today, we're going to explore why so many of us feel pressured to heal perfectly, how perfection quietly becomes another form of self-criticism, and what it really means to honour your healing journey with patience instead of performance.
