Today I’m letting you in on one of the mindset shifts that has had the biggest impact for me with my horses, and in my life more broadly - the concept of ‘best current thinking’.
Best current thinking means that you are trying your best with the information you have at hand.
Here’s the thing, as equestrians, we are really prone to analysing and evaluating things we did in the past, and it can lead to us beating ourselves up over it or refusing to take future action.
BUT the concept of ‘best current thinking’ can release this sense of wrongdoing, because if you were trying your hardest in that moment, despite whether you would repeat your actions, it was the best you knew at the time. It’s that simple.
In today’s actionable takeaway we’ll talk about how you can stop beating yourself up over a certain training instance, or moment in time.
