When someone dies, especially someone famous or influential, journalists often report on their legacy, the influence they have had or will have on those who remain and the following generations. While we can leave a material legacy, such as money or property, the more important legacy is how we have influenced the thoughts, values, motives, behaviours of those who remain. And the problem with this is that we cannot decide how others will be influenced by us. The Bible has some useful words.
