Corbett host a video series along with his wife, grace. Which offers some perspective and some statistics about building performance so it can be easily understood and used by professionals and consumers alike. In 2009, Corbett started teaching professionals through his building performance workshop.

He's hosted over 500 YouTube videos and 80 interviews for the Building Performance Podcast. In 2016, grace and Corbett Design and built the world's highest performance tiny house on wheels, the tiny lab, and toured the US before settling down in Atlanta, Georgia. Along the way, they created a first TV series about home performance called Home Diagnosis, which airs on public TV across the us.

He's a passionate advocate for education and empowerment, having recorded some of the most entertaining videos you can find about the science of your home. I'm now just like, like we went on Matt Risinger channel the other day. Mm-hmm. And his audience is completely, uh, based on the trolls who, who post the cums, it seems like we're like not even in their university anymore. Uh, we're so like down the weird path of science of poems. Hmm. So I think that even just within testing, physics, chemistry, microbiology of residential construction, and.

Renovation. Uh, there's just so much to talk about. Yeah. And, and you could, you know, your show, I'm sure it encompasses all kinds of different people we're architects and engineers and Right. Um, environmental, you know, researchers, things like that. So it's, there's, there's just with, with the amount we don't know is staggering.

Absolutely. And, and that seems to be the theme, uh, most of the time is that people just don't know what they don't know. So let's start off by asking why this effort, why this mission is so important on, uh, old buildings, uh, with latent potential to be better buildings or, or new construction and, and building it right the first time.

it seems easier to just build to the minimum standard, and most people do. So why do you take this path? Well, I found out about this. I quit being a musician. And didn't know what the over wanted me to do and kind of just sway the care. Okay. So, um, somebody said you should, you know, I've been trying to find somebody who I can come into the house and tell me all the, the wide scope of things that I could do to make this place better all at once.

And I don't wanna call it installation guy, H V C guy and the window guy. Um, 'cause I know also they wanted, they wanna sell me stuff and so I thought, no, that's actually not a bad idea. I looked into it and then I kind of got into this through the. The doorway of energy efficiency. Most people who come into this field came in through that door or through the sustainability door, which is even more mushy and a winged mm-hmm.

To try to define, which is again, what you're talking about, right? Yeah, exactly. And so, but once you're in this space, this space is not actually governed by energy efficiency or sustainability. Um, what really I'm trying to do is I get pod when people do stuff,
