Loving Yourself
Loving yourself has two components - Love and self. From my interaction with family and friends I can safely say that we know very little about what love is and our knowledge of ourselves is equally dismal at best. It is no surprise that we are not well prepared to love ourselves. For starters I suggest we let go of our self-imposed mental torture. For example we are consummate worriers. We seem to believe that worrying is a virtue. Instead of love we rely on worrying or fear to keep us safe. No wonder we are stressed. Life is very stressful when fear is our constant companion. We are not taught in school how to meditate nor get to know ourselves. We learned instead how to regurgitate textbooks that consists mostly of outdated information. Let's learn from scratch how to love ourselves. Learn to set aside all judgements of ourselves and others and simply learn to observe ourselves and start to ask intelligent questions why we feel the way we feel or think the thoughts we think. Get to know ourselves without judgement. Remember that no matter who we think we are we are much more then that. Once we get to know the surface level "I" that we think we are, look beneath the surface to uncover the true self that has always been there buried by fear, lack and self-doubt. That true self can only be uncover and recovered through a labor of love. Accepting ourselves and others unconditionally is what will foster the true self to reveal itself. Loving ourselves is really why we incarnate in a body. We desire to know ourselves through experiencing our co-creating with other aspects of ourselves.
