When I am recording this it is June 2022 we are in pride month.

In this episode we will explore the importance of pronouns, we explore how behind the western world is in terms of gender and we will try and get our heads around their and they.
I have always believed that love is love - so felt so proud of the emotional intelligence

I also think it is really unfair in the western world we are put into stereo types for the gender we are physically born to.

These 10 cultures have accepted non binary gender identities for centuries other

-Samoa

-Noth American cultures - two spirits

  • Mexico in a small town

  • Madagascar

-Albania

  • Hihras in South Asia

  • Metis in Nepal

-Toms in Thailand

-Bugis in Indonesia

This ethnic group has seen gender as a spectrum for centuries now, with three additional genders in addition to male and female. Bugis genders include ‘calabai’ (feminine men), ‘calalai’ (masculine women) and intersex ‘bissu’ priests.

-Brotherboys and sistergirls in Indigenous Australian culture Used by Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders, brotherboys describes people with a gender experience inconsistent with their assigned sex, with a male spirit and male roles in the community. Sistergirls are the exact opposite.

A few weeks ago I was luck enough to to do a shoot with Mamawest - the brainchild of Sheridan Rose - I have been following Sheridan journey as we have both been in Suz Chadwick’s Brand builder academy

We should never assume ones gender or sexuality.

By giving our pronouns we are encouraging others to share their pronouns with us.

This is a topic I am passionate about but by no means am I an expert :) I am simply contributing to the conversation in what I hope is a very positive way.
