Run by music lovers that live in Preston. Being particularly interested in live music and its potential to enrich a place – we’re planning to listen to as many people as we can to hear what they have to say about the Preston music scene’s past, present & future. The work was kicked off by The Preston Jazz and Improvisation festival when they commissioned Soundskills to film an interview with Harold Salisbury, the eminent jazz saxophonist.

When planning the interview’s we began to realise that a body of work that might become a celebratory archive of musical experience in the city would be ’no bad thing’, particularly if we could house it in one place. Rather than just a passive look back at the rich seam of activity over the years – we are hoping that the Preamp Project will, ’turn up the volume on Preston’s musical history to help energise the forward momentum of our present music scene’s undoubted talent’.

In this episode, we talk to Kim, Terry, and Alan about their experience in the Preston music scene. With conversation which includes;  £5 guitars, Action Records, Pink Floyd, Jimmy Hendrix, and more. this is an episode you don't want to miss.

Thank you for listening to our podcast. New Episodes of the Preamp Project will be uploaded weekly.
