In this episode, we learn about the earliest practice of mummification came from a tribe called the Chinchorro in South America. The Chinchorro people were the earliest inhabitants of the Atacama Desert in what is now Southern Peru and Northern Chile; they are responsible for producing the first artificially preserved mummies over 7,000 years ago.
