Damien Thomlinson is a special kind of person. He's the kind of person who, when he talks, you lean a little closer to hear what he has to say.
Damien joined the army after becoming inspired by his grandfather, who served his country. But Damien didn't just join the army. He wanted to be the best of the best.
So he became a commando, taking on one of the toughest, and most dangerous jobs, in the country.
While stationed overseas in Afghanistan, Damien was victim to an IED blast, which claimed both his legs. He only remembers bits from that day and his memories have been pieced together through the stories of the heroes serving next to him.
Damien's resilience is second-to-none and it's an honour to share this conversation.
