When I start to feel down about my (perceived!!! - not real) lack of contributions to my household/family, I am often reminded that my health is my job: a full time job at that. I don't exactly remember applying for this job and I definitely want to quit. However, it got me to thinking how it maths out/adds up/makes sense that being chronically ill is, in fact, a full time job. And in thinking about it, I was able to create a multipart series address the duties of said job.
Giving credit where credit is due: Christine Miserandino revolutionized the chronic illness community by sharing her Spoon Theory with the world on her blog: https://butyoudontlooksick.com Because of her contribution, those suffering with chronic illness are often referred to as "Spoonies" and we often refer to energy stored and expended in units of spoons.
