Marley's story is a very different narrative than the one we heard from Mountain Man last week. It is emotional and raw, and gives us a glimpse into what it is like to live with addiction. Despite her traumatic past, today Marley sees herself as a survivor and has a strong will to better her circumstances. She has overcome obstacles and continued to fight through experiences of which I am not certain I would have had the strength to do the same. I initially was afraid that I wouldn't be able to offer enough of the support that Marley needed, but she helped me to realize that giving someone the opportunity to have a voice and be heard can make a difference.
