Deborah Spindelman is AISE's Consulting Inclusive Education Expert. She has 15+ years of experience working in inclusive education, capacity development, and systems strengthening among marginalized communities in low-, medium-, and high-income countries. She also brings 4 years of teaching and facilitation experience with graduate and executive students addressing issues of sustainability and development in communities across six continents. 

Her work is committed to equity and justice, grounded in an appreciation for diversity in all its forms. She is a research fellow at the Research for Equitable Access in Learning (REAL) Centre, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and paid advisor to KIOO Project, an organization using photography to transform gender relations among youth around the world.  Deborah is a PhD Candidate in Education from the University of Cambridge, where her research interests link early childhood health inequities with cognitive development and learning needs among primary school students in northern Ghana. She earned her Master’s in Public Administration in Development Practice from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and her Bachelor’s of Arts magna cum laude in Anthropology and Women’s Studies from California State University, Long Beach.
