This podcast seeks to explore the world of Web3 and its relationships to IRL (in real life), particularly mobility, transportation and travel. Key topics include: mobility protocols, Move2Earn and regenerative cryptoeconomics (i.e. ways token economics can contribute to regenerative and restorative economies). Your host is Boyd Cohen, Ph.D., author of 3 books, a former contributor to Fast Company on the topic of Smart Cities, and founder of 6 startups (some succeeded, some didn't) including Iomob building a decentralized internet of mobility network (IoM) on a Cosmos app chain, and the new Move2Earn game, WheelCoin.
In this episode of Web3 on the Move! we share a framework for understanding the emerging ReFi gaming space. After observing a dozen or so projects in the ReFi space, some trends were discovered such as:
1) Some ReFi games focus on nudging actual user behaviour towards more sustainable outcomes
2) Some ReFI games focus more on gamifying external impact outcomes
3) Some ReFi games focus on incentivising the user to earn financial and economic rewards (e.g. tokens or cash/discounts)
4) Some ReFi games focus on impact rewards (e.g. planting trees on the players' behalf).
This resulted in the creation of the ReFi Games for Impact Matrix, v1.0 which is shared in this episode as well as in this blogpost in Coinmonk.

In this episode we meet with Drew Simon. Since 2021 he has been a leading advocate for the use of blockchain technologies for impact. He founded Crypto Altruism which is a website and podcast series that promotes the projects and the people that are leading the way in leveraging blockchain for good.

In this episode of Web3 on the Move! I explore what I see as an under-discussed aspect of our collective ambition to "onboard the next billion users to crypto".
While less than 200 million people own VR headsets and less than half the world's population have desktops, 90% of us have mobile phones and more than 80% have smart phones (i.e. more than 6 billion people.
So I explore deeper what the crypto industry is doing to bridge the gap to improve UX and even the hardware itself. I discuss recent developments like Solana's new Android phone, Saga, Polygon 's hardware partnership, Helium Mobile and Move2Earn.
I also critique the latest news that Apple will begin applying their 30% platform fee to in-app NFT sales.
Finally I conclude with a call to action for the crypto community to more proactively engage not just other crypto natives but also the established industry and "normies" so that we can in fact onboard the first and 2nd and 3rd billion users into crypto.
In this episode I interview Jaspal Singh, someone who has spent many years in promoting mobility innovation in the public and private sector. He has been supporting the UITP (International Association of Public Transport) helping the sector embrace technology innovation.
He also founded the Mobility Innovation Lab to promote synergies between private innovators and the public sector.

In this latest episode we go deeper into the third interconnected theme of Web3 on the Move!: Web3 and climate change.
Rather than discuss the over-discussed topics of proof of stake vs. proof of work, we dive deep into the thesis for Aera Force DAO, a relatively new DAO that invests in early stage Web3 and crypto projects. Tyler explores the three different components of their thesis: investing in supply side for eco assets, demand side for eco assets and underlying infrastructure to make all this work. We also discuss whether investment DAOs are better positioned to solve the climate crisis compared to VCs.
Naturally given the interests of the Web3 on the Move! community I asked Tyler to discuss more about the demand side and his view on how Move2Earn games can be part of the solution by nudging more sustainable behaviour from the masses around the globe, how to reduce friction for "normies" and how important it is for M2E projects to build their token economics and game mechanics in ways that create a more sustainable less Ponzi model.

In this latest episode of Web3 on the Move! we have our first guest, Continental, the founder of P.E.S.T. guild and DAO (P.E.S.T. stands for Play.Earn.Strive.Together).
Continental was an OG player of STEP'N is a moderator in their discord, has been active with GenoPets and is an expert on community building and game mechanics of Move2Earn projects.
