Welcome to the first ever episode of What The Frack! This is an environmental podcast hosted by two students, Anna and Niamh, who are definitely not climate change experts but are going to try to teach you a thing or two about it anyway. They are both active members in UCC Environmental Society, a student run environmental group that promotes green thinking and sustainability on and off UCC campus.
During this episode, we'll introducing ourselves, discuss why we got interested in environmentalism and what you can expect from this podcast series.
Frustrated by the lack of climate action by the Irish government and the constant dismissal of young people in the conversation surrounding the climate crisis, we decided to start up a podcast, to give ourselves and other youth activists a voice and a platform.
The aim of this podcast is to engage everyone but particularly young people and students with environmentalism. We want to start a discussion surrounding the threats facing our environment and our planet as a direct result of human activity.
We are thrilled to introduce our first episode to you and we hope you enjoy it! Follow us on Facebook at UCC Environmental Society and UCCEnvirosoc on Instagram/Twitter. You can contact us at environmental@uccsocieties.ie
