Our third, and for the time final, film from The Puffin is a third adaptation of British theatre, this time around working with playwright Terrance Rattigan to adapt his play 1948 play The Browning Version. Unlike The Importance of Being Earnest which stuck close to the source material or Pygmalion which worked from a script Shaw himself adapted with a disdain for film, Rattigan expands his play for the film version, adding an entire third act and a more poignant and inspiring ending. Or at least less depressing.
