There will come a day when all the best bits from Luis Bunuel's The Phantom of Liberty will have -- through the magic of memory -- been in The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and I won't feel bad about not liking most of The Phantom of Liberty. It's ok! There's some really really great bits! But Bunuel is better than the sum of this film, and we've seen him be better.
