In tonight's episode we learn what it really means to hunger and thirst for righteousness.  We see that often we attempt to fill empty holes in our lives with all the wrong things.  And no matter how much we fill those empty holes, we always end up wanting more.  Yet desiring God's Word is the one thing able to make us whole.  It is the one thing able to fill every desire we may have.  We see the example of Christ, who was filled with the Word of God and desired nothing more than to continue to obey it.  We also take some time to seek forgiveness for desiring things other than God, and put ourselves on the right path from this day forward.

Matthew 5:6 - Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,     for they will be filled.

Matthew 4:1-4 - Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But he answered, “It is written,

“‘Man shall not live by bread alone,     but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

John 19:28 - After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.”

Hebrews 4:15 - 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

1 Corinthians 10:31 - 31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Hebrews 11:6 -  And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Psalms 42:1-2 - As a deer pants for flowing streams,     so pants my soul for you, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God,     for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?[b]

Psalms 34:8 - Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!     Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
