In this weeks episode we look at the story of Jabez.
We learn that asking God for blessings isn't wrong. But we also learn our heart and intentions play a big role in how God answers our Prayers. We examine Jabez's heart and several other verses about God's desire to give us those things we ask of Him. It takes a big person to be willing to ask for help, but without God we are going to continually need more and more. God answered Jabez's prayer with a Yes, how will He answer you?
Verses used in this podcast:
1 Chronicles 4:9-10 9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him in pain." 10 Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!" And God granted what he asked.
Luke 11:10-13
10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
John 14:13-15
13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. 15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
1 John 5:13-14
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
