One of the biggest issues surrounding God's Word is the worlds misunderstanding of the Old and New Testament. In order to help us understand this better, I decided to bring in the big guns, Brother Mark Ray. The value of understanding the Old and New Testament should not be overlooked. The Old Testament was written for our instruction. It holds within it the knowledge of who God is, and what His plan has been since the beginning. It is a vehicle to point us to the central character of God's Word, Jesus Christ. Through it we learn how God deals with His people, even those like us who make tons of mistakes. We learn the mistakes of the israelites and more importantly the mistakes we should not repeat.
We see God's plan from the beginning. We see that we were to problem with the Old Law. It wasn't a fault of God, but instead a fault of man who couldn't hold to that Old Law. There was no forgiveness of sins under the Old Law. Each and every year sacrifices had to be made for sins. Yet each and every year those sacrifices were not enough. However Christ finally solved that problem for us, by making Himself the final sacrifice for our sins. Once and for all He gave of Himself so that for the first time in history salvation could be obtained.
