Two or More: Recent Episodes

Lee Gordon

Maybe you’re a new believer and you have a ton of questions. Heck maybe you're pretty seasoned in it and still have them. Maybe you aren’t a believer at all and have them? That’s cool cause, so do we. Everyone has them. Questions like, should we drink? Should we smoke cigarettes or even marijuana if it gets fully legalized? What should we support and what should we not? Should we play violent video games, watch violent sporting events and wild movies? Should you eat that last doughnut? The list goes on. So let’s dive in and really try to come to some level of understanding together.

Here, using the Bible first and an ample dash of comedy tossed in a witty rhetoric reduction, we, the average person, will do our best to talk about topics we as Christians will have as we navigate this thing called life. Questions that some of us may not feel comfortable talking about in our circles because of how it may appear to others. We can’t promise you that you can expect be smarter afterwards but we can promise you that you can expect anything at anytime.

We decided to name this Two or More based on Matthew 18:20 where Jesus says, “ For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” This podcast will feature two people to engage in a discussion about a topic and make room for the Holy Spirit and also, hopefully you. No matter who or what you believe, there is a seat here ready. Welcome and let’s talk!

Bruh.....this is FIRE!

Haha, seriously...this is a good one. I don't think I say that often but I'm feeling this one. I wanted to have a brother on with me to speak about what God is doing in his life and I feel like it's super important to know what it's like to be called by God to do what He has called you to do even with all your doubts and fears. My brother Jonathan Huber is here to tell his testimony of the start of walking in God's will for his life. He is going overseas into a mission field and we would love your prayers to go with him. If God has placed it on you to also want to support him financially, here's how you can do it:

---> Click Here

This will open a new window and hopefully bring you to "https://www.simusa.org/give/"

1) Under “Secure Online Giving” there is a tab that says “Give to a SIM Worker or Project”

2) Type “Jonathan Huber” in the “Select Designation” area

3) After that, click “Add a gift to an unlisted worker or project” and his name will appear in the notes.

Below that, you have the option to make a donation an Ongoing Monthly Gift, or as a One-Time Donation. All donations are extremely appreciated, as you are being the hands and feet of Jesus, and blessing him with this.

Also, if you email him at Jonch4@outlook.com, you will get the initial support letter and newsletter updating on everything that is happening on his mission!

Love you all!

Spicy take inbound....Wait, no? Maybe not? Ahh, I guess that it all depends on who is listening to this I suppose. I feel ya. Either way, it is probably the most talked about and debated subject in Christianity...which of course means we also have to talk about it. I don't think my take on this subject is that crazy but is very confrontational. Wait...no again? Heck...maybe I didn't need to throw my hat in this.

Welcome to Season 2! I'm happy you're here but what we are going to talk about is tough...well for me. The first episode in season 1 was about life where we briefly talked about these issues. I've come to realize that while my story maybe isn't all that big to you, it may be major to others. Consider this a testimony of sorts. If you listen in its entirety and you want to respond back, our email is Twoormorecast@gmail.com! Hopefully this episode gives you some insight and if possible helps and bless you as you go through it or as you help someone go through it.

Yeah...This was a fun little mixer. I can’t promise you a ton of deep insight but I know some are there if you look for it. My wife and I decided to have a convo with another interracial couple about the little details that are nowhere in the manual. From upbringing, what we ate and how we responded to things around us that stem from the environment in which we came up...it gets talked about. I can tell you this, I’ll shut it all down before I eat a shake and bake (yuck) or regular pork chop with apple sauce.

Forgive me...This was planned to be on Definite Lee.

However...as the conversation progressed, I realized it had more to do with Two Or More. This episode I partnered up with a college professor of psychology and anthropology to try and find out what's the deal with Mob Mentality, other things dealing with the mind, the effects of giving and also just being a number in a machine that’s more brand than Plan.

Sometimes as a parent, your kid will come to you with the tough questions and you gotta figure out the best way to answer a question that is waaaay smarter than you. With this kid, it's my daily. So we decided to answer three of her questions about God. Hopefully, I don’t look even dumber internationally. Let’s go...

“Grin-din'... you know what I keep in a lining.

Better stay in line, when

When you see a cast like me shinin'..”

Hahaha...love that song.

But seriously….Life? It’s a grind...or at least that's how it feels like from time to time. We go out to try and beat this level (day) but to do that, sometimes we gotta grind. Much like we have to do in video games. Speaking of video games, this episode is pretty much all about that. Well, one in particular.

Nioh.

It’s tough as nails but I love the series.  It wasn’t till recently I realized it was basically a game about life. Minus all the crazy power ups and wanton violence…..well...heck, now that I think about it...Dang.

It's the first cast of the year!

And while that is exciting, I'm not so sure this will be for most. It's kinda the culmination of the previous year with the intent to really wrap it up. Not sure if I do a good job at it but the intent is there. We really want to go into 2021 differently and the only way to do that is learn from 2020 and what we were really dealing with during that time. So yeah, here’s my first one. Treat yo’ self!

Welcome to DaCon. It's us and then some. Most days, we talk about ridiculous and borderline inane things that never come to light. Depending on who you are, this could be inane or insightful. What do I know? You're about to find out for yourself and while this episode was kind of spur of the moment type, it was still a long time coming….much like them all really with our upload rate.

le sigh

I digress...This one is pretty much my close groups of believer friends. Not all, as stated, but almost. We have opinions and thoughts and just because we are believers doesn't mean we believe we are right...it just means we know Who is while we are still trying to get right so Let Him be the judge. We just got the jokes. #ThePlan>

Part two and the ending of Conversation. Not the end of conversations...just the end of this particular one :)  #DaCON #Namethem

I think all change can start with a simple conversation. What if you just sat down and said, Let's talk. Grab some coffee or in our case, a bottle of flavored water that you don't like and some pizza that did not cater to my more health centered friends and just talk. That's what we did for like 3 hrs. Sadly, only 2 hrs was recorded along with my reference to what blacks in America might call coons. Don't know how that made it in but it is what it is. Part 2 coming soon! #DACON

Racism and Church. Technically, those two things shouldn't go together. Unless maybe you are a member of a church where your pastors name is Clayton Bigsby....or maybe you live in America. That isn't to say that churches in America are racist or even that American churches is the only place where racism can be found. It's just that some racist go to church, some churches played a part in that and we ask a series of questions concerning that. We got a panel of four people local and one via phone for this one. It's so big, we had to split the episode into two parts. So sit down and get ready to join the conversation and also hear everything that happens in one of the panelists home.

Ahmaud Arbery is the cause of the rising of a no longer silent voice.

Due his tragic death, there has been a voice crying from the ground for justice. Quite a few evangelicals are starting to voice concern about the situation that while current, is in no way new. One could say they are late to the party and others would say they are right on time. Here we discuss those and our racial differences in and out of the church and the impact that it has on reaching others for the Kingdom. Listen closely and along with that voice, you may hear my kids in the background playing Mario Kart louder than the church has ever been about these issues. That's little "c"...not big "C".

Just imagine...sitting out in the middle of nowhere. Just praying. And suddenly, you get into a fight with a spiritual being all night and all the way till morning. Don't know how it started but it had to be something serious to fight even after your hip gets displaced like a German Shepard. Let's talk about that. Oh yeah, I guess we can talk about Covid-19 as well and how ya'll ain't washing your hands. Shameful.

So, this episode is a bit rogue. It was planned buuuut not planned? What had happened was, a friend of mine joined in and for some reason, we talked about black churches vs white churches, clapping off beat with a click track, snake handlers, revivals and forcefully being made to be slain in the spirit and speaking in tongues. We also discuss diversity in worship music using a couple of bars from an Eminem song so there's that. Lot of random thoughts but this is a pretty fun eppy...also, there is a wild hairball in this for whatever reason. You'll hear it...Just embrace it.

Don't know how a Naruto and Sasuke reference made it into the podcast but it happened. We let the randomness thrive here. I digress...it's Black History Month and there is no way I can let this month ride by and not speak to it. Let's talk about the position and place that black people have in the Bible. You know...for the ones that say it was created to trick us and keep us enslaved. A ruse and a sham they say! How about we prove them wrong using said Bible? Let's go!

Life was the first episode so we knew that we would talk about Death next. What we didn't know was that this week was going to get the jump on everyone with the passing of a legend in basketball. Even though this episode is late, it's still right on time so let's talk about death from natural, to accident, and to suicide and hopefully we can shine a little bit of light on somber and dark week to get you through to a brighter the weekend.

So here my friend and I discuss the aspect of Life using John 15:13 as the starting point. We ask ourselves what it means to have your life and also to give your life. From Jesus to Choose Your Own Adventure books, like House of Pain, we Jump Around.
