Consider the author’s intent, the genre of the text, and the intended audience. * Application:* Apply the insights gained from observation and interpretation to our lives and ministry. This involves understanding how the text relates to our contemporary context and how we can live out its teachings.
Exegesis vs. EisegesisIt’s important to distinguish between exegesis and Eisegesis. Exegesis is about letting the text speak for itself, while eisegesis is the process of reading our own ideas into the text. Eisegesis can lead to erroneous interpretations and can undermine the authority of Scripture by putting your own thoughts into the text.
