Having attracted a huge crowd, Jesus alienates most of them by criticizing their motives and making audacious claims about himself. He says, “You must eat my flesh and drink my blood.” The sign of the multiplied bread means Jesus is the bread that gives eternal life. And that in him, there is more than enough.
