One billion women and girls all over the world will be beaten or raped in her lifetime. One Billion Rising (www.onebillionrising.org) wants to break that cycle and end violence against women worldwide. An official organization started 15 years ago, today’s Valentine’s Day (V-Day) worldwide event promises to expand the message in villages, towns, cities and countries around the world. Our special guest today is Boston based well known playwright Jacqui Parker, who is producing a special play that will debut this evening in commemoration of V-Day. “And Still I Rise” is a dramatic presentation to celebrate our power to stop violence against women, with two performances that will take place at Bethel AME Church in Boston.
