God … speak to me

Most Christian prayers begin with “God … give me”. Whether we are praying for healing, for financial help or a good result in our exams, essentially we’re asking God to give us something. This series explores the power we can experience when we expand our prayer life beyond “give me”. In this talk, Matt explores the power of praying “God … speak to me”..

In this series, we’re encouraging people to actually experience these powerful prayers. Today, grab a blank sheet of paper and a pen and find a place where you can sit quietly for 5 minutes. Pray “God speak to me” and then write down whatever comes into your mind and heart. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think it’s from God - write down whatever comes to you. If you find it difficult, you could reflect on some scripture (Psalm 1, 23 or 41 are good places to start) or play some music quietly to help focus your mind on what God might want to sat to you?
