Despite being drawn to the lore and stories within RPG books during his deployments overseas, Mike didn't fully embrace the gaming world until after retiring from the military. It was then that he leaped into the hobby with enthusiasm, hosting family game nights during the pandemic and becoming an integral part of the tabletop RPG community, all while volunteering with an aerial rescue and working towards being a part of the rescue team.

Rob and Eli talk a lot about what happened in some of Rob's twisted justice campaigns as well as a little bit of the contingency hero issues. One thing that Rob can't seem to understand is how some players believe that bringing a god down to their level by being incinerated is actually "bringing them down to the mortal level." However, Eli gives an example, or at least an analogy of a fly versus a human and how it actually makes sense and truthfully, Rob is able to understand.
Rob also mentions that he thinks he's decided to turn his fifth edition adventure into a mega dungeon, and we announce that we are expanding our team by looking for an additional regular host.

This is the last episode. of 2022!
We talk about the things that have hit us hard, like some of the OGL 3.0 changes by Wizards of the Coast, and some of the continual questions that pop up in popular forums like 'how do I monkey paw my players wish' and how to check in with my players about how they're feeling on the game. But all of this was just a huge lead in for the coolest thing brought to our attention of the year. Eli found Dungeon23, a mega dungeon challenge for the year 2023 where you build a single room, or encounter of your dungeon a day and at the end of the year you're looking at your very own mega dungeon.

Modiphius has been rumored to be closing their chapter on the 2d20 Conan system which is certainly sad for Rob who has yet to actually pick it up but Eli is rather excited about the potential for a new chapter of the titular barbaric hero. Eli got us on the edge of our seats with a prompt of what we would do when a player decides to harvest a toxic fungus, and ask to make a tea out of it. What would you do? What would anyone do? We debate the logistics of possibilities as Rob brings up an article from earlier in 2022 when someone died by way of eating left out rice because of a bacteria that can kill you, but only AFTER it's been cooked. It is with my greatest sorrow to inform our community of the death of our co-host, Brandon "Potato" Tatroe. Without Potato, it feels hard to move forward and I know that he wouldn't want me to stop or give up. When he suddenly handed me his reigns, I knew from a recent conversation that he didn't want this to end and that I'd have to finish what we started. Something that honors and celebrates Potato, for everyone in the community. Potato promised us some character builds for the new Playtest of Marvel Multiverse, and we finally get to see what he had going on. While it's a difficult idea to pursue, we talk about how it has to be acceptable by the party because such a build will be complex and difficult to work with. Also, low and behold there are actual rules to support this character, so we wouldn't even have to make up some home brew things! And unfortunately we had to cut this episode short because all of our technological equipment was dying due to being more mobile than stationary today, so we were able to cover Potato's character build early before ending the episode there.

Potato was pretty excited to talk about Modiphius Entertainment's Dune TTRPG, which does sound awesome despite Rob's carpenter jokes when he mentions how you build your houses (which is still funny by the way).
