Welcome to Travel Matters. Professor Rukmini Sen of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi and I Dr. Ishita Dey of South Asian University, Delhi will be your hosts on travel matters. Rukmini is a Teacher, Plant and dog nurturer, Reader, Diarist and traveller. She teaches courses on law, kinship, gender, and culture as part of the School of Liberal Studies at Dr B R Ambedkar University Delhi. Dr. Ishita Dey teaches at the Department of Sociology, South Asian University. She teaches courses on food, gender, and social stratification as part of the Sociology curriculum at South Asian University, Delhi. She loves to maintain a diary of imaginary travel maps based on fiction, non-fiction and travel shows that have shaped my ideas of places, people and culture.

In this podcast we will be bring to you ten episodes on themes related to travel ranging from intimacy, health, love, death, non-human travel, botanical travel etc None of them will help you to be a tourist but we hope it will help us to understand history, sociology, and anthropology of travel. How did non-humans travel through human regulated borders? Can Royal Bengal Tigers travel to Africa? How are flowers transported? An engagement with history and sociology of travel we hope will open our ideas about how cultures could not evolve without the influence of others and travel has played a prominent role.
