We are now on Perek Shirah, on the pasuk that the fields say : שָׂדוֹת אוֹמְרִים. / Th e song of the fields (Mishleh 3,19) יי בְּחָכְמָה יָסַד אָרֶץ כּוֹנֵן שָׁמַיִם בִּתְבוּנָה: Hashem with wisdom has established the earth. He set up the heavens with understanding The Mabit, in his commentary on Perek Shira , says that simply, this means the wisdom of Hashem's creation of the earth, especially as it relates to fields, is a phenomenon. If we look around the world, every different species has a food that it eats. Let's take the panda bear for example. A panda bear's diet consists almost entirely of bamboo, and bamboo is exactly what needs to eat. Even though bamboo is mostly starch, it does consist of 32% protein. And even though bears are typically carnivorous and usually eat meat, these wonderful bamboo shoots suffice for the panda, who eats a tremendous amount of bamboo. That is יי בְּחָכְמָה יָסַד אָרֶץ Hashem made it so that it has what it needs growing out of the land that it lives in. These are not coincidences, or, has v’shalom, evolutionary developments. Hashem B’Chochma Yasad Aretz… people and animals have the food they need where they are. That's a revelation of Hashem’s chochma , and that's what the song of the fields is. As we’ve said before, it can mean the fields actually sing the song, or their ministering angels sing the song, or we, when we see the fields, should be singing these songs. The Rambam writes, Hashem B’Hochma Yasad Aretz is just to appreciate the concept, like we say, Mah Rabu Maasecha/ How great are the number of Your deeds, Kulam B’Chochma Asita/ there is never ending Chochma . When you look at creation, the Chochma doesn't end. There's no such thing as a simple being or a simple microbe. They used to think jellyfish were simple. Nothing is simple. Everything is complex because everything is b’chochma/ with wisdom. And wisdom is complex. Just like you look at a Gemara and it's a difficult, complex sugya , and there's nothing simple to it, so too, there's no simple creature. There are organisms, circulatory systems, cardiovascular systems…never ending systems. Systems are things that work together in harmony. The earth is complicated. It's not just a glob of dirt. There are minerals and who knows what, going on in the earth. That is Hashem B’Chochma Yaasu Haaretz , the song of the simplest things is, ‘ We’re not so simple. We're deep and we're complex .’ That's the song of the fields. And as we say, man is a miniature world. Asher Yatzar Et HaAdam B’Chochma Man is also complex. The entire Hovot Halevavot is based on Shaar Habechina/the gate of checking in on and looking into and seeing the wisdom of God’s creation. You become a believer when you delve into the wisdom of creation. That's the song of the fields . Look at the wisdom of the field, יי בְּחָכְמָה יָסַד אָרֶץ
