We are up to the 9th pasuk in Malchuyot Zecharyah 14,9 וְהָיָ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־כׇּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִהְיֶ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶחָ֖ד וּשְׁמ֥וֹ אֶחָֽד׃ Hashem will be King over whole land on that day. Hashem will be One. His name will be One. What does it mean that Hashem will be King? He is always King. We can go back to the Gaon of Vilna that we quoted at the beginning, that told us the difference between a Melech and a Moshel . On the Jewish people, God is King . King means we accepted His kingdom willingly whereas a moshel means a dictator . LaAtid Lavo , says the Gaon of Vilna, In the future, וְהָיָ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־כׇּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ / the whole world will accept Hashem as the King. Rashi tells us on the pasuk Shema Yisrael Hashem Elokenu Hashem Echad/Hashem is our God. Hashem is One, that the simple explanation is Hashem is our God now (we recognize Him; we accept Him now) but in the future He will be the Hashem echad of everyone . As it says, בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִהְיֶ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶחָ֖ד וּשְׁמ֥וֹ א ֶחָֽד׃ . Hashem's name will be One. He will be One . So, the lack of recognition of the goyim interferes with the וְהָיָ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־כׇּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ / Hashem will be King over whole land, because they send messages of other kings. Atheism, evolutionism and all the other heresies of the time are interfering with Hashem Melech. The Haamek Dvar says on Shemot 15,18 back on our first pasuk, Hashem Yimloch L'Olam Va'ed /Hashem should be king forever . that they prayed that Hashem's kingdom should become complete in the future. It hasn't happened yet. It's going to happen. Hashem Yimloch / In the future He will be King. The Aruch Hashulchan, in 56,2 says we pray every single day in kaddish that He should be King in His Kingdom. There is a lack of recognition of Hashem as King as long as the goyim are around interfering. So, we are praying for that great day וְהָיָ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־כׇּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִהְיֶ֧ה / O n that great day when the whole world recognize Him and יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶחָ֖ד וּשְׁמ֥וֹ אֶחָֽד׃ / Hashem Echad U'Shmo Echad. Hashem Echad means there will be no other god in that the goyim will leave their gods , so He'll be recognized as Echad . There will be no other forces but Him. It will be clear to the world. There is no competition, there's no voting. It's only God. U'shmo Eichad/ His name will be one, meaning only His name will be mentioned and nothing else. That is our first track in the lack of Oneness of God- meaning that the world doesn't recognize Him- He is not the Melech . The Radak quotes the Rambam to explain Hashem Echad U'Shmo Echad . He says we use all different names for God: Rachum , Hanun , and other names based on what God does. So it could look like there are multiple gods has v'shalom, because there are so many different things happening. And God has different names, so to say, to refer to Him. He's Hashem , He's Elohim . In the future, we are going to use the name י-ה-ו-ה which means Mehaveh Kol Havayot He makes everything exist. We can't even say that name. We pronounce it as אדני . We don't pronounce it as His name because it's not clear to us. We don't have that recognition of God's name. When we have the clarity of that One name, then all of the questions of having more than one God will not be there, because we will see that One force of God energizing everything, pumping life into everything, that there is only one force, and that's Hashem Echad. And once you realize that, Shmo Echad - we will only use one name. What a beautiful explanation on this pasuk that we say all the time. Lastly, the Gemara in Masechet Pesachim quotes this pasuk and asks, does this mean that God is not One now? He says, no, the difference is that today we when we view good things we say HaTov U'Metiv, and on bad things we say Baruch Dayan Emet, but in the future, it's only going to be HaTov U'Metiv It's only good . There won't be two ways of describing God (which is very similar to what the Rambam says). So, this Oneness of God means that everything will be recognized as good without any question.
