It's always been the model and it seems rather complicated and inconvenient to try a more sustainable route. That is until recently.New technologies make it more feasible (and accessible) to be self-sustaining leveraging new green energies like solar panels, wind mills, and hydro. As cities re-think their infrastructure to make space for hybrid and electric technology, it gives each of us an opportunity to rethink our consumption and decide if we would like to opt-out of the grid, and live off-grid.While there are extremes in ideology, methodology, and practice, I've discovered that there's a happy medium for each of us to discover.
