We're back with another video and this week's topic is on Education! 😊
How comfortable are you with the idea of allowing individuals outside of your immediate family to discipline your child?
More specifically, how do you qualify and define discipline within your household?
Join in as we explore the history of discipline and education, clarifying the demarcation between discipline and punishment. It's only very recently that corporal punishment was abolished within school systems (less than 25 years), but it would be optimistic to assume that mindset of using punitive measures to establish control completely gone away.
As a society we need to do more to bring clarity to the roles that educators play as disciplinarians, and more specifically, speak to behaviours that should not be tolerated within and outside of a classroom setting.
