Question to reflect on When was a time you had to really use discernment, and what helped you choose well
This week on Cup of Soul, we’re talking about “the one thing worth being concerned about” — the heart of your God-given mission. Inspired by Luke 10:42, this episode will help you cut through life’s noise, reflect on your calling, and create a personal mission statement rooted in God’s Word.
Candis put out the challenge last week to create your mission statement, and this week, we’re sharing ours! We’re talking about discovering and crafting your personal mission statement — a guiding purpose rooted in God’s truth — and how it shapes not only your life but your family’s direction as well.
You’ll learn why clarity of purpose matters, how to align your life with Kingdom priorities, and what it looks like to live with intentionality in every season. We’ll walk through Scripture, reflection prompts, and real-life wisdom to help you write your own mission — not for performance, but to pour out God’s love.
Grab your journal and join us for this powerful conversation on purpose, presence, and living out your faith with focus. Then take the next step: write your mission statement, and create one for your family too.
Icebreaker Moment: If your life were a billboard for the world to see, what would it say — in 10 words or less?
Whether it’s fun, bold, or faith-filled, this lighthearted question is a great way to start thinking about the message your life is sending — and whether it reflects your God-given mission.
So, what would your billboard say today?

Cup of Soul – Episode 132 Follow the Yellow Brick Road 🌻
Tagline: Grab a cup for some wisdom.
✨ “You don’t have to know it all. Don’t despise the small steps you can take.” — Chrystal Evans Hurst, She Still There, Chapter 11: Follow the Yellow Crumb Road
In this episode, we're celebrating the beauty and power of small steps. Even when the road ahead is uncertain, God leaves us little crumbs—clues, nudges, and gentle guidance that show us the way. As Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” And in Psalm 119:133 we find assurance that, “Keep steady my steps according to your promise…” God’s promise is to guide and equip us at every turn.
We also reflect on the promise of Hebrews 13:20-21, where we are reminded that our great Shepherd equips us with everything good so that we may fulfill His will. You don’t need a grand master plan to move forward—just faith, a willingness to take that next step, and the belief that she is still there.
💭 Reflection Question: What crumbs has God placed in your path, based on who He created you to be?
We just have to follow the crumbs—yellow or white cheddar—follow 'em. 💛🧀

Episode 130: Embracing Your God-Given Identity ✨
This past week, I took intentional time to reflect on my strengths and weaknesses. I realized that while I often lean into my strengths, I sometimes hesitate to acknowledge my weaknesses. Yet, in those moments of vulnerability, I've experienced God’s grace most profoundly. 💛
In Episode 130 of A Cup of Soul, we explore what it means to embrace both our abilities and limits, finding a more sustainable rhythm in our walk with Christ. 🙌🏾
🔹 What are the unique attributes God has given you? 🔹 How can embracing your whole self deepen your faith?
Let’s continue the conversation! Drop a comment and share one God-given trait you're embracing this season.
Father God, thank You for creating each of us uniquely in Your image. Help us to embrace both our strengths and weaknesses, knowing that in every part of us. You are at work. May we walk confidently in the identity You have given us, fully trusting in Your purpose for our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
She’s Still There....
"Have you ever felt like there’s more inside of you, but you’re not sure how to fully step into it?"
2 Peter 1:4 – “Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
Episode Overview: God has placed something in you that is meant to impact the world. But often, we don’t see ourselves the way God sees us. In this episode, we’re diving into 2 Peter 1:4 and discovering how to gain a fresh perspective on the gifts, calling, and purpose that He has already placed within you.
What You’ll Learn in This Episode: Discover – Recognizing the gifts and calling God has uniquely placed in your life. Develop – Cultivating and strengthening those gifts through faith, growth, and obedience. Deploy – Walking boldly in your purpose, using what God has given you to serve and impact others.
God doesn’t just call the equipped—He equips the called. And you are called! This episode will encourage you to stop doubting what’s inside you and start stepping boldly into what He has placed in you for His glory.
Why do you think we tend to avoid making time to look at our lives? Why is it important to do so?
Join the conversation and let’s unlock the fullness of what God has already deposited in you!
In a world where we often feel overwhelmed by the weight of our responsibilities and duties, it's easy to forget something incredibly important—you are carrying precious cargo.
Have you ever seen a sign in a car window, referring to children in the car, that says, “Precious Cargo on board.”? That’s how God sees us as we journey through life with Him.
Just like a driver carefully transporting fragile goods, we each have something of immense value within us: our purpose, our potential, and the unique gifts God has given us. Life can throw challenges our way, but when we remember that we are carrying something precious, it changes the way we approach every day.
In this episode, we’ll explore how to honor and protect the precious cargo of our lives—whether that’s our mental health, relationships, or faith. Join us as we dive into practical ways to handle life with care and intentionality, and remind ourselves that every moment is an opportunity to steward what we've been given with love and grace.
Sisterfriend, It’s Time to Reclaim Your Value 💖
Remember, your worth is not defined by what you do, but by WHO you are. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, and no one can take that away from you. 💫
In this week’s podcast, we dive into how easy it is to find yourself in a collision and lose sight of our true value. Just like we talked about a few weeks ago, drifts will happen—but that doesn’t change the fact that you are loved and worthy of all that God has for you. 🌸
She's still there — the woman of strength, grace, and purpose. Jeremiah 31:3 says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love," and that love never fades.
Tune in to hear more about how to embrace your value and hold tightly to the love that is always with you.

This week’s episode is titled: "I Am a Soul"

Tune in for powerful insights, a heartfelt prayer, and practical ways to apply this truth to your everyday life.

Application: Today, take a moment to pause and reflect on who you are beyond your role or responsibilities. Write down one way you can align your actions with the truth that you are a divinely created soul with a unique purpose.

This episode- is Part 2 -the feeling of drifting- we're going to talk about something that I believe many of us can relate to. It's that sense of uncertainty or aimlessness that we sometimes experience on our spiritual journey. But what if drifting isn’t just something we need to avoid, but something that’s actually a part of our story with God?
In today’s episode,we want to share how drifting — those moments of feeling lost, uncertain, or disconnected — has actually shaped our relationship with God in ways we never expected. It’s not always easy to see, but sometimes the wandering leads us to deeper places of understanding, trust, and faith. Through our own journey, we've come to believe that God doesn’t just guide us when we’re on the straight path; He’s with us in the detours and the pauses, too.
Here’s the thing: drifting doesn’t mean you’ve failed—it means you’re human. The story of faith isn’t about being perfect or always being "on fire" spiritually; it's about consistently choosing to return to God, even when you’ve wandered.
So, if you've ever found yourself in a season of drifting, wondering where God is in the midst of it all, I hope this episode reminds you that it’s all part of your story, and that you’re not alone in it."
Sometimes it happens before we realize what’s occurred. It’s unintentional. We don’t plan it. Lulled by the slow pull away, swayed by other things we start deeming more important, we wake up one day and realize things seem different. We find ourselves in a place we’d never intended to go.
The drift.
Happens.
Get your pen and paper... put your seat belt on
People change, their interests change, they drift in and out of various likes, dislikes, and pastimes. In fact, I would argue that every Christian has or will experience spiritual drift at some point in their Christian lives. Interestingly, the believers to whom the letter of Hebrews is addressed apparently were at risk of the very same danger! In Hebrews 2:1 the author of Hebrews warns his audience against drifting away from the Gospel. For them, this message was not only timely but necessary to protect them from a terrible fate.
This week's episode is to help you so-- spend some time reflecting on whether or not neglect and drifting are part of your life. If needed, take action to reaffirm your commitment to your family!
Are you comfortable owning your story? Why or why not?
So don’t hide your story. Own it! Tell it! Rejoice in it! Realize that no matter what has happened in your life, your lows, your disappointments and your struggles can be the most compelling parts of your story as God redeems them all. People will rally around you, and you will find love and connection in the process. With God, your wounds can become the source of your greatest strengths.
TAKE ACTION: FOREGIVE AND IT SHALL BE FORGIVEN. Forgiveness of an offense releases “YOU” to move forward. When you do not forgive you remain stuck/planted/rooted in the “moment of the offense” . You are bound and locked in a prison.
Paul shared his story as a servant of Jesus in 2 Corinthians 11:23-33. Do you know someone who needs to hear your story? God knows. Ask Him to show you who that person is.
Be brave enough to believe you were made for more.
If you’ve never told your story, start with these three statements: “This is who I was. This is what Jesus did for me. This is who I am now.” Below share your three statements today!
Key thing to remember… Owning your story is an act of strength.
Are you okay?
These are such simple words, but so meaningful, especially during these unsettling times. When things are not going as we planned and the world is so very messy, we need to keep our eyes on the one who created us.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices, my body also will rest secure. Psalm 16:8-9 NIV
Grab a cup of coffee, pen and your journal and join Candis and I for real and honest conversations about You are really Okay.
Something to think about.
What are you facing that makes you feel fearful — as if it won't be OK? How can the Lord's great love for you protect you from becoming consumed by your situation?
Sisterfriend, no matter what you're facing, God cares for you and will carry you. It may not be OK, but, because of the Lord's great love, you will be OK.

A Finished Masterpiece in Progress.
God is still making and molding you. The key to rising higher is to accept yourself while He is in the process of changing you.
I’d like to say that I have learned to play the piano. I have been playing the piano for over 25 years, but do you ever really finish learning? It seems there is always something new to learn when it comes to music. Each time I master a new skill, it seems there is one I have yet to master. Playing a musical instrument is a work in progress. Maybe I’m just a slow learner, but I know for sure that I have not completed my musical journey.
We are a work in progress. We have to choose to westle for the win-
Grab your pen and journal and let's talk about- Listen in to the podcast
Every day we are growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus. Every day we are striving to become more like Him in thought, word, and deed.
But let’s face it, I’m not there yet.
And if you are perfectly honest, neither are you. That’s why I love what Paul says in Philippians 1:6. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, he writes, “I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
How would your life be if you believe in the idea of a masterpiece for your life?
Today, I encourage you, to be refreshed in the knowledge of this freeing grace that you are His masterpiece, and be stirred to walk in the Spirt, using your freedom to serve one another through love.
Thank you for listening! Your support of Cup of Soul helps make this show possible.

We share our affectionate and enthusiastic love with our husband and family, even my close sisterfriends. What about Jesus? He is my True Love!
Today, we want to share a simple practice we decided to do this year 2025, that will help us me fall deeper in love with Jesus and release our attachment to the world. Let this be a begin to you regularly writing love letters to Jesus.
Grab your jounral...Let’s be bold! “Let your heart for Jesus hang out to bless others,”
Writing this letter will help you recognize all the small ways you see God’s love in your life. It’s a great way to reflect and thank God for all the ways He loves you. If you’re at a loss to begin a letter, these tips may help:
Tell Jesus you love him—whether you choose to write a simple “I love you” or a more elaborate message.
Make a list of the ways you have seen Christ’s love in your life today.
Tell Jesus your fears and insecurities. Ask him to release you from the things which are keeping you from loving him better.
Jesus is waiting. His arms are open. Are you ready to disregard your worldly desires and love him? May you fall deeper in love with Jesus this 2025.
Blessings,
Candis and Theresa
This podcast is for Christian women to have a safe place where they don't feel alone. We will be sharing all things how to walk out your faith, parenting, friendships, self-care, maybe some sex, and more. We hope to give you advice in these areas but also comedic stories of our past and present and share our lessons learned and normalize what being a Christian woman is really like. So buckle up my Sisiterfriends and Churchgirls. Its gonna get REAL, real quick. But we are in this together. Hope you stay awhile.
Conqueror. Overcomer. Victorious. Those are strong powerful words.
Things that you may not always feel, but it doesnt make them any less true. Living sanctuary, vessel of purpose, called. More words that hold more truth. In this book we have talked about many ways we have stumbled, times that we have wanted to give up and even ways to stand firm with everything feels unsteady. All of that boils down to this: you have everything you need in this moment to be exactly what God has called you for. Sisterfriend, you have grit.
Get that journal, cause theres a piece that is going to tie it all together for you and you are going to want to write it down. And bring a friend.
Declaration: I am a conqueror. I am an overcomer. I am victorious. I am a living sanctuary. I am a vessle of purpose. I have been called. No matter what is happening around me. I have the grit God has given me. Your Turn Are you fighting for the things God has called you to do and be? It’s not going to be easy. But, with Jesus, even while you may be facing persecution and prosecution and oppressed in every way, you are more than a conqueror!
Acquaintance. Buddy. Confidant. Colleague. and Sisiterfriend. All of those are different variations of "friend".
No matter how old you are, what season of life you are in - we were made for friendship and for connection.
WE ARE MADE FOR CONNECTION Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. - ECCLESIASTES 4:9-10A
In this episode we are talking about not only how important it is, but how we saw it in real life at the Sisterfriendsgiving. Women from all over coming together, breaking bread, laughing and sharing stories - stories that we can see ourselves in.
Get a pen - cause you are going to want to write down what was seen, and reflect on your own story and who needs to hear it.
Declaration: Lord, I was made for connection. You have a desire for me to be with you and your children. So I believe in the promises that you have spoken. God I know that I have your unconditional love and because of that I have the power and position to also know, love and enjoy your people. I was not created to be alone and know that the love that is shared in connection allows for faith and hope to be evident in my life. So in this moment I say that I love my sisterfriend and speak the same blessing over her that I do over myself. We will see each other as the image bearers of God and count on each other. There is no fear about what anyone can do to us - because it is our Father that brought us together. Thank you for each piece that we hold and represent, we are the answer to a vision as we stand together. Lord, WE were made for connection. Throughout This Day: Look back on all the times God has blessed you with the people in your life and how you have been used to being a blessing to others. Doing this will stir up joy and thankfulness in your heart for all the relationships God has blessed you with.
Have you ever tried to put something together or complete a task and realized that you don't have the right tools to do the job? That yes, the task may be challenging, but if you had the right tools you would be able to do it. Think about that in terms of life - the situations you face each day. God has done just that. He has given you a tool.
“Every promising in Him is YES and AMEN.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
Did you know that there are over 8000 promises in the Bible? The Promises of God are like a Scriptural Swiss Army Knife, they are meant to be used by you for the needs you have, but there is a big ‘BUT’. You have to know what you have and how to use it.
THE tool to fight anything that you are up against. He gave you the Word to Declare. This episode we are going to talk about the power of declaration, what God has done by giving you the word and just how you can stand on it in every way. There's even a challenge at the end.... so listen!
Get your cup, journal, and a Sisterfriend cause we are shifting the atmosphere right now!
Declaration: I will follow Christ each day. I know that its not the length of my steps that matter, but the fact that I am moving towards Him in every step I take. My effort is not insignificant, God is guiding everything I do. I will not get caught up in the small, my mind is set on God and eternity. God promised me a future and a hope and I know He is faithful. I have been given time on this earth, talents and treasures to bring God glory and love others. I will live with future generations in my mind and faith in my heart. My life is an offering and I will follow Christ each day. Principle: By personalizing the Promises of God in the first person, you weaponize them and they become effectual in your life.
What are you waiting for?
Truly, what is it that you are waiting for?
Is it for the right time, the right place, until you are organized, when the kids have grown up? When we wait it is not about sitting and doing nothing. God has asked us to continue while we wait. To endure, keep going, preserve and never stop. This week we are going to say something that might step on toes - waiting is a gift. Mmmhm, a gift from God where miracles take place and we have been given a job to do while we wait.
So get that pen, journal, and bring what you are waiting for - its time for breath to be put back in it.
Declaration: I will declare God's truth over my life. I will speak about the Biblical truth that comes from my Father. Each day, no matter the circumstances, I will remind myself who I am, what I am called to and who I am choosing to be. It is not about having answers but knowing that the word, in which I live my life is full of truth and promises that I can hold onto. I am not conformed by this world and have constant transformation because my mind is being renewed. I will declare God's truth over my life.
Why do we like movie trailers so much?
.
Because it gives a highlight of the best parts of the movie and leaves us wanting more. And sometimes the trailers are so in depth that we decide we don't need to see the actual movie, the trailer was good enough. Have you ever thought that way about your life? What if God gave you the trailer to the season that you are heading into - how would you feel about it? Would it be enough? In this episode we are getting into what it means to trust God without seeing a preview, how we hold on to community and Malta is just a pitstop.
Get your cups, journal and bring a Sisterfriend.
Choose vulnerability and transparency so you can receive the gift of God’s grace.
Declaration: I have a sound mind. I will take ground and move forward no matter the circumstances because I trust you. Your promises over my life are true and each one of them will come to pass. No matter what it looks like I will always get back up again and I will praise you. I know where you placed me is where I am supposed to be and there is work to be done. The hurt and broken pieces of be are now healed and whole and I will share that with anyone who comes my way. I have a sound mind.
When you are scrolling through social media - what are you really doing?
.
Are you catching up with family, adding new recipes to your rotation, or are you comparing yourself to the images that you see? If we are being honey we have all been in a situation or had an interaction where we have compared some aspect of our lives to something else. And if we are being REALLY honest it never leaves us feeling good about ourselves or the other person.
.
So this week, we are getting into comparison - what it means, why we do it, what it says about our relationship with God and of course how to fight it! Get your journals Sisterfriends! You are going to want every scripture shared - your cup is about to overflow.
. Declaration: . I have power and authority in my life. There are going to be moments of depression and despair - but I will not stay there. I will focus on the who - Jesus because He has never left me or forsaken me. I will cling tightly to the word and His promises choosing to see the purpose in all situations. Wherever I go, there is a ministry. Wherever I go, there is authority. And wherever I am, I am not alone. Every part of my story will bring healing and hope. I have power and authority in my life. . Amen
Building Resilience
Last week we took a look at resistance building resilience, acknowledging how much we need it.
.
And now this week it is time that we learned how to build up our resilience and keep up a reserve. Having a reserve means that we are going to stay dependent on God, letting our weakness become our strength.
.
So this week - get your pens, we are going to give you seven practical tips - you need to write these down.
This week's Declaration: I will not compare myself to others. I will not assume that I want what others have. I choose to focus on God and trust that He has everything that I need. There is a race set before me and I will finish on time - covered, protected and loved. I will rejoice with those around me who are blessed and celebrate how you are moving in their lives. I will not worry about when things will come my way, as there are blessings with my name on them. I will not compare myself to others.
This is the one!
This is the episode that is going to give you revelation, conviction and encouragement.
We are talking about the "why" - why there is a pushback when it feels like you are doing everything right. Why it feels like you have been sitting in the waiting room for a long while with nothing changing. Here's something that you might not know. You ready?.....
God has given you EVERYTHING you need to handle it. Yes.. IT. You know what it is. Now get your cup, journal and pen - you are definitely going to want to take notes.
Don't resist.
This week's declaration
I declare that my body is a temple designed by God. I have the Holy Spirit within me. Knowing that, I will treat my body with honor and value. My words, actions, thoughts and behaviors will focus on what God says - the truth and I will share that wherever I go. The world cannot define me, because it did not create me. I thank God that He made me with love, compassion and kindness. I will see myself through this lens. I declare that my body is a temple designed by God.
When we look back on the years of our lives so many emotions come up - dreams, people, places, what we learned, and how much we have changed. In all of those areas there is a difference in what we do, verses who we are - and how God shows us both along the way. In this episode we dig into those differences and how we remain "gritty" through it all.

"Trust God can speak to you, and have the courage not to quit."
INSIGHTFUL QUOTE: "Resistance is not a barrier to success, but a stepping stone to greatness. Every obstacle is an opportunity to grow stronger, wiser, and more resilient" This week's declaration -
I declare that I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. I declare that every wall of resistance will crumble before me. I declare that I will overcome every obstacle, and emerge stronger, wiser, and more resilient. I trust that God will lead me to the right place and the right moment. Everything that God has for me I will receive in His perfect timing. I declare that God's strength and wisdom will guide me, and that I will triumph over every challenge. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
You just received an invitation to a wonderful celebration. Do you let it sit on the table to eventually forget about it or do you respond right away? Now what about when it comes to God? Are you responding to what God is asking you to do or do you let it slide hoping that things will work out? In this episode we are talking about what it means to respond to obedience - knowing that we have been given the power and assistance of the Holy Spirit.
Get your journal, grab a sisterfriend and let's fill your cup!
Declaration: The Holy Spirit is with me everyday. There is not a place or activity that the Holy Spirit will not be with me. I am empowered to do everything that is asked of me. I know that I will be filled with power, wisdom and love. My life is full of the miraculous. I will be used powerfully. The Holy Spirit is with me everyday.
When it comes to obedience we often think of training - being respectful and mindful of the rules and laws. Doing what you are told to avoid punishment. And usually it involves something that we do not really want to do. Now, that same obedience is a gift. It's the very power you need to run the race that God has set before you. It allows you to worship, show loyalty and demonstrate love.
In this Chapter of "Grit Dont Quit' we are going to open up the invitation and see what it means to step into obedience to God instead of running from it.
Get your journal, your weekly pfd, pen and cup! and don't forget your bible.
Declaration: I will run my race with tenacity. I will continue on even in those moments when it feels heavy, tiring, and I don't know which way to go. I know that God does. I know that He will guide me, protect me, sustain me and never leave me. I am obedient to where He calls me to go because I trust Him - He is a good God. I press forward because I want to obey, Quitting is not an option. I will finish my race well.
Connection of Perspective, Purpose and Pivoting.
Do you realize that everything you do is connected to your perspective? Where you go, what you buy, the things you say - are all connected to your perspective. Have you ever thought about what your perspective is connected to? Is it your family? What you watch on TV? Or to your purpose? And what if we told you that the old perspective you have, cannot take you where God wants you to go - so it's time to pivot and make some changes?
In this week's episode we are going to open the connection of perspective, purpose and pivoting. Oh - and which pizza is truly the best!
Get your journal and grab this week "dig deeper sheet in your email and a sisterfriend!
Declaration:
I am more than a conqueror in you. With your power that I have in me, I can do all the things that you have called me to do. Continue to reveal your purpose in me. Each day, everywhere I go, show me what you want me to do. Yes there will be sacrifices, but I make them with joy knowing that I am stepping into my calling with confidence. I am more than a conqueror in you.
Who remembers the game Pac-Man?
You gobble up those little dots until you bump into the wall only to turn back around and start gobbling them up again? Do you ever feel like that - that you have to pivot, turn around and keep going in a different direction?
In Chapter 3 we are going to be given tools that will remind us what God has already said - you are resilient. You have everything inside of you in this very moment to withstand all that will come your way.
After you read this chapter, and get the PDF - you will have words, scripture and response to guide you. Get your pen!
Declaration: I am more than a conqueror. Each day that there is breath in my lungs I have your power so that I will do what you have called me to do. No matter what is going on around me, I am not giving up in the middle, because I see the end. I am not confused in my faith because my hope is in you. Thank you for giving me what I need that I am not only sustained in my present but also as you carry me to my future. I am more than a conqueror.
Last week we came in hot! Jumping over hurdles, speaking on what it means to get back up when everything around you is telling you to stay down. Are you ready for this week? Because we are taking you through our lemonade making process and what REALLY happens when life gives you lemons. Let us tell you... its not what you think! In this week's episode, we are moving into another piece to the toolbox, not quitting. Get the book, get one for your friend, and get the PDF - you are not going to want to miss this! I wonder how many times I’ve missed the blessing because I stopped too soon. Perhaps you’ve wondered:
I don’t know the answer to the question of how much longer, but I do know this: Tomorrow could be the final lap. Don’t give up too soon.
Lord, sometimes I just want to give up. As a matter-of-fact, I am tempted to give up on something pretty important right now. Fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit on the inside, so I can persevere on the outside. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
. I declare this by faith in Jesus’ name! I will not give up and throw in the towel! Things have happened to me and there have been times I have felt overwhelmed, but today I am talking to God. When I talk to God I am changed. I remember who I am, what He has called me to and I will fight for it. Hard times will pass, and I will see the Word of God bring me victory. When I am tempted to get discouraged, I remember the many examples piled up all around me of people who endured. I have the strength to get back up and move because God is strong and faithful to lead. I will not quit today.
This week we are jumping right in... RESILIENCE.
Do you have a story about literally falling, tripping, or being brought to your knees? If so, share it with the group.
What does that mean to you?
Who in your life would you describe as resilient? What makes them that way?
In Chapter 1 we are going to define what it means to be resilient, looking at some key characters in the Bible.

Guess what?..
We are back!
.Did you miss us!
Because we missed you! It was a wonderful time of reprieve and refueling but we are so glad to be back to a Cup of Soul - dropping wisdom, sharing truth, and making sure you get that second helping of love. In this episode we are going to share what we actually did while away and how we prepared for this new season. Cup of Soul is about inspiration and encouragement and we are going to be reading books [listen for the title of the one we will be starting], reading scripture, doing word studies and speaking declarations.
So we are telling you now...... go get that journal. at least two pens and bring a friend with you. We. Are. Back.
Are you ready to know what happens when God asks us to do hard things? We have spent about 10 weeks sharing, breaking down, opening up what it means and how to do it.... and this weeks episode will answer it with two words: _____________ _________________.
Two words that describe the power, authority, and dominion that you have. Two words that show the faithfulness of God. Two words that will carry and sustain you through everything that God asks you to do. And truthfully. two words that give you freedom and peace that is not found anywhere else. Get that journal - you will need two cups to catch all of it! Scripture Reference: John 14:27 Psalms 131 Luke 12:13-34 Ephesians 6:6
When you find a good deal on something, what is one of the first things you want to do? You want to tell everyone! You are excited and you want others to experience that same joy and save, right? And on the opposite side, how does it feel when someone shares a good deal with you? You are appreciative and thankful that they thought of you to share.
Now think about that same thing in terms of life. Your life. Eternal life. What are you sharing when it comes to God? Are you sharing the life that He gave you, or walking about spiritually. dry and depleted? The people who are around you, attached to you - need to know about the life that you have. In this chapter we are sharing about the hard thing that God asks us to do - LIVE. . God Rewards Your Sacrifices Get your cup, pen and journal - and another Sisterfriend! Scripture References: Psalms 46:5 Galatians 5:19-21 Romans 5:8 1 Corinthians 5:22 1 Peter 4:10-11
When was the last time you felt your heart beat so fast that you could barely catch your breath?
That you were so excited about something that you could not sleep? When you felt truly alive? Each day God gives us the opportunity to come alive with Him. To put down our selves, the things that we strive for on our own, and live the life that was promised to us.
In this last chapter of The 7 Hardest Things, we are going to talk about how it all comes together.
Everything that God asks us to do rests on this one question....... and you need to listen to find out what it is!
This week's question- “Our Christian walk should never be stagnant. The crucial question for us is this: Which direction are we moving? Are we moving forward or are we moving backward?”

When was the last time you got away?
“I can’t be gone for a whole weekend. Who will take the kids to football pracitice?”
“My husband hates it when I’m gone. It’s not worth the hassle and it the last day of school.”
“It’s out of my comfort zone and a little scary.”
We have a hundred reasons why we shouldn’t go to the women’s retreat. Some years the voices win out, and we stay home. Later, when we hear the glowing reports from others about how wonderful it was, we feel a pang of regret, but it doesn’t last long. “Oh well,” we say, “maybe next year.” Other times we make the extra effort, and we’re the ones sharing happy stories and telling how glad we are that we attended.
So, when was the last time you and some sisterfriends took some time to eat good food, wear matching pajamas, stay up late, laugh and cry together and be in God's word together? Well this week you are in for a special treat - the Sisterfriends are joining Cup of Soul to talk all about the GirlTalk Come Away With Me My Beloved retreat! Hear what it was like to get on a plane and travel from the east coast to letting the Holy Spirit move and release chains.
Get ready because you are invited to the next one!
I’ve never regretted attending a retreat, but I’ve often regretted not attending. If you’ve never attended a retreat, or you haven’t in a while, why not make plans to attend one? You’ll be glad you did. Scripture Reference: 1 John 4:1-3 Hebrews 10:24-25 Acts 2:42
Do you know what a lemming is? A little animal who somehow gets in his mind a weird compulsion. And then all of them get it. They go headlong on a journey toward the sea. Over the mountains they go. Across the rivers they go. Through the woods they go, on and on until they get to the sea. Then they all jump in and drown. They're doing everything to get there—then that's it. Have you ever felt like that before - you start following something or someone not really sure why? And then when you pause for a minute realize this could not be further from what God has planned for you. This week we are talking about what it means to be a follower the way that God designed it. Oh, and get your pen ready - there is an assignment! May the grace of God preserve and keep us from the lemmings.
Scripture References: Acts 1:8 Hebrews 11 2 Timothy Psalm 139:15-16 1 John 1:9 Galatians 3:29
👉🏽Without followers what is the purpose of a leader? When was the last time you thought about the kind of follower you are? What does your followship look like? In this week's episode we are talking about what it means to be a TRUE follower of Christ and how that looks in our daily lives - at work, at church and in our homes. Time to go to the Lord to fill us up and to be where we are supposed to be! “If I had to reduce the responsibilities of a good follower to a single rule, it would be to speak truth to power.” — Warren Bennis
👉🏽Help leader to lead – Leaders lead, followers follow. Find ways to make the leader better in what he/she is committed to doing. Learn not to blame your leader for unpopular decision or policy; your job is to support and not undermine.
“Effective followers and effective leaders are often the same people playing different parts at different hours of the day”

As a women, we wear lots of hats in which we are call to lead. We are capable people. However, we must be able to lead ourselves first- in order to fulfill what God has planned for our lives, we must submit to his way of doing things.
In Chapter 6, we are reading about God asking us to lead and follow. Understanding that not only are we called to do both, but we are equipped to do both. To try and separate them does not work as they need one another.
This week’s podcast, we are going deeper in Leading- get an extra cup, We will be taking six qualities of LEADership-and discuss the importance of leading ourselves first before leading others. Growing our self-awareness is crucial to become a better leader, yet few people are self-aware-What is God REALLY asking you to do.
The "Wisdom in the Cup" this Week: ”I choose to lead the hardest person first—myself. I choose to find my best self today.”
Scripture References: Genesis 1:31 Psalm 139:13-16 1 Peter 2:17 Acts 23:4-5 1 Corinthians 15:58
Are you ignoring something God wants you to do out of fear of rejection or scrutiny? Ask the Lord to help you determine if and when he wants you to lead.
This week's hardest thing that God asks a woman to do is lead AND follow. When you think of being a leader, what characters come to mind? What attributes demonstrate good leadership? Do you think of yourself as these things? Well it is time Sisterfriends! In this episode we are going to look how God demonstrates being a leader and shows what it means to be a follower - at the same time .And the delicate balance of them both.

God is….
When we say that God is, we must first identify who he is.
.
Then, what he is to us personally. For me I would like to say that he is my everything. Saying that is a powerful statement that sums up my life. To proclaim that he is my everything is the result of him meaning nothing to me at some point in my life. That may sound harsh because it startled me as I was writing. To even think that my everything now meant nothing prior to the point of accepting Jesus (change) into my heart. It brings me to wonder how I even made it to the place of him being my everything without him meaning nothing to me before. .
.
Grab your pen and paper.... let's go in.
.
He is my everything because he has to power to become all I need because he is!! God is! God is! God is and will forever be my everything. He has proven himself to me in more ways than I will ever comprehend with my natural mind. I am a believer in him and his works. How about you? Have you tried him? Is he your everything? If he isn’t I strongly recommend trying him for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
.
Sisterfriend, neither of us are qualified to write of these things because we don't live it perfectly, but because we have tested what we speak in my own daily life for over alot of years between us. We have come to know this amazing God who keeps leaping over all my flaws and weaknesses to love me with all His heart, and I want others to know Him as they can, for their joy and for His glory.
Let's talk about it.
God Bless!
Theresa and Candis
One of the hardest lessons we have to face, which we try to deny, is that we are in control of so little in our lives.
Life is really one change after another. One thing that doesn’t change, however, is God’s truth that guides us. I’m grateful for the steady hand His Word offers when the roller coaster of life takes us on one ride after another.
Oftentimes we will receive advice to "hold on" when it is time to be safe and "let go" when things aren't good for us. Each one of those is centered around what is comfortable. Now go here, what has God asked you to hold on to? To let go of? And are you putting aside peace and hope for being comfortable?
In this episode we are on the fifth hardest thing that God asks a woman to do. What we do know is that when God asks you to do something you will walk in freedom by leaving it in His hands and trusting in His timing.
What’s one thing you can let go of today?
Get that pen and paper!

This week's episode -
Let me ask you the same question Job’s wife asked, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity?” (Job 2:9 NKJV). When the world around you becomes corrupt, do you cling to purity? When life gets tough and temptations come, do you remain firm in your principles? Do you still trust God? Will you swerve in your commitments or persist in your faith?
Honesty. Goodness. Character. Righteousness. Goodness. All of these words are connected to a much heavier word -- Integrity. What we discovered is that integrity is a matter of the heart. It doesn’t deal with actions as much as it deals with the inner man.
What is it? How do you know you have it?
Where is it showing up in your life?
The last two weeks we have talked about proceeding and waiting - a hard thing that God asks us to do. When we are asked to do these things [and we all will be asked]
integrity is the foundation on which our actions take place. In the face of testing and trials, you choose whether to hold on to integrity or let it go.
Get a pen and your journal - we are going all the way in!
This is the 100th episode of Cup of Soul with Candis!
In this series we are reading
The 7 Hardest Things God Asks A Woman To Do by Kathie Reimer and Lisa Whittle
The book should have been called When God calls you to do something hard, He impresses it in your life so deeply that you can’t ignore it (even if you try).
We’re in Chapter 4 which the author discuss Proceed, while also waiting but right in the middle of Proceeding and Waiting ….the questions is asked….
WAIT- grab your pen/journal.
Proceed now!
Do you want to know what God is asking of you?
Yes, this can be confusing, we discuss in the episode ways to focusing on the main things, it all falls into place-
So many times, we want God to reveal Himself to us.
We question if He is real. And if we believe in Him, we expect Him to put Himself on display in big ways.
So dive in and let’s discuss -What are the main things God asks us to do?
Do I proceed or do I wait?
When sitting at the stop line, I anxiously await a red light to turn green and give me the go-ahead. When cruising towards an upcoming intersection, I tense up at the sight of a yellow signal, as I am forced to instantly determine if I can stop safely or if I should proceed with caution.
I wonder if God sometimes chooses to act like a set of traffic lights.
Sisterfriends, Get those journals!
For instance, how often do we want to say or do something despite our conscience telling us otherwise?
When you think about the goal behind a signal they are used to give information about something. More than likely an instruction. This instruction is to keep up safe, to guide us and keep things moving. How does God signal you? How is God showing up in your life to tell you when it is time to proceed and when it is time to wait?
This week we are discussing how God signals provide us with everything that we need, exactly when we need it.
This week- search your heart to see if you are waiting on God with intergrity or taking the matters into your own hands?
Scripture References: Ephesians 5:15-20 Isaiah 8:20 Psalm 119 Hebrews 11:8
The Third Hardest Things-Fail/Succeed Part 2
”What if I fall? Oh, my darling but what if you fly!”
I absolutely love this quote. I’ve seen it posted lots of times. It’s often accompanied by captions that have encouraged and inspired me but I often find myself thinking… yeah the flying bit is cool but what if I do fall?
Candis says, Last week we talked about failure/success and what it means in terms of how we are moving with God. This week we are talking through the scriptures and what the WORD tells us about failure and success. As we are reading and sharing each one -- ask yourself how this is showing up in your life today? And what is the TRUTH the God is saying to you? It is time, today, to stop living in the safe zone and move in what we are being called to do. Fear Aint In This House!
Theresa says, Neither our successes nor our failures define us. It’s our identity in Christ that defines us. Knowing who we are in God and trusting Him completely will allow us to be fulfilled, content and to remain stable; whether we are experiencing the highs of life or the lows.
Yes, we will be okay. Yes we can be fulfilled! Let's get ready to Soar.
This week's question
Do you have a dream that your've been afraid to pursue
Application-
Today take one specific step towards reaching your dreams.
Jounral your process.

Welcome to Failures Anonymous. We sneak in the backdoor and meet in the basement. Some of us are in disguise. We wear the masks of good performance, the many hats of admirable behavior, the coats of enviable credentials, and nice-gal necklaces.
Failure is a word almost no one wants to be associated with. Our failures don't have to be final. But we need to learn the ways that let us move beyond them. Start by listening to God's Word.
Candis says...
You are going to need an entire journal for this one! This week's episode is about failure and success - but not the way that you are used to talking about. We are getting into the truth about what God has asked us as women to do and how we were chosen for His purpose from the very beginning.
Theresa wants to know : Who “defines” us then?
Parents. Past. Unruly children. Finances. Friends. Social media. Your boss. The crotchety coworker. An abusive partner. Education. Possessions. Property. Success … or failure.
Let us prayer, Heavenly Father, give me the boldness to attempt big things for You-so that whether I succeed or fail it will be in a big way! Amen."

What God Thinks About Tolerance Question: On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the greatest, how tolerant are you? “Tolerant of what?” you might ask, thinking of politics, religion, sports, or intelligence. Most of us think of ourselves as being quite tolerant, and certainly if we are in the minority, we demand tolerance and respect as a kind of sacred right.
But the deeper issue evokes another question: Should we be tolerant at all?
You know, Christians are often characterized as being intolerant. It’s a negative word that separates people and is of undesirable character. Nobody wants to be known as intolerant. In modern culture, tolerance is a measure of our ability to stay quiet against that which we do not accept as right. It’s accepting the wrongs of others, or even ourselves, in order to be inclusive of others’ beliefs.
This week we are going to get into what it means to tolerate things by the world's standards and how God has given us a foundation - and clear guidance on how we are to show
Get a pen and a lot of paper - it is time to walk out the hard things that God is asking us to do.

The First Hardest Thing - Single-Focus
This week's Cup of Soul
Candis reflects -as we are getting into the book, The 7 Hardest Things God Asks A Woman To Do, this week and starting off strong! How many times have you mapped out all the things that you needed to do in a day and decided that the goal was to finish them all? In fact you even figured out how you could do multiple things at the same time. Sure you might have been able to do it, but did you do them well? What was at the center of the list - what you wanted to do or what God was asking you to do.
Theresa reflects -to the fact-nin the era we live in, it is quite common to hear conversations about multitasking. We sometimes wear it as a badge of honor that we are able to juggle multiple projects or tasks at home or at work.
As we dig in this chapter, we invite you to dig in with us as we discuss- how we are to stop multitasking and start making God the single focus. Think about what you will REALLY be able to do!
“With a gentle and readable style, Lisa and Kathie invite us to join their spiritual journey where we’ll see the practical side of life at the feet of the Master. Personal and authentic, their writing offers the invaluable quality of real life experience. So grab a cup of coffee or tea and settle in with these two new friends who will walk alongside of you and provide fresh challenge for your heart.”
What your song for this week?

How do you feel when someone asks you to do something you are unsure about?
Do you just say yes or no?
.
Or does it depend on who it is and what is being asked?
.
Sit with that for a minute. Now think about those questions in terms of God. What do you do when God asks you to do something? Or better, HOW do you know what God even wants you to do? In this episode we are beginning a book "7 Hardest Things God Asks A Woman to Do" and we will talk about those times where we are more concerned with looking for answers than looking to God and describing our "best yes". Listen to the very end to find out how you can win a copy of the book and a journal!
Scripture References: Genesis 3:9. 16:8 Ruth 3:9 Exodus 12:8 Luke 24:17
Last week you heard from a group of Sisterfriends who talked about Growing Up; Growing Old. This week's conversation is going a bit deeper and what it means to understand in the different seasons that God Is Not Finished. What it means to understand the value and discipline of rest and how each life is being built intentionally for the Lord. You will hear how each Sisterfriend believes that THIS is the best season they have ever had. Get your cup ready - it will be filled!

My glory days are right now! So are yours. We don’t all have the strength and stamina of Moses. But, God can still you use you. Think about something you can do. Ask God for guidance and wisdom. Let Him speak to you, just be ready to do what He asks.
Growing Old Growing Up s strange and mysterious to me, and I’m not quite sure I’ve got a handle on it yet. It surrounds me -- I feel it in my back when I get up and I see it in my hair when I spot another strand that’s gray.
Change is an inevitable part of life. We’re being shaped every minute we live. Every thought, every decision, every action, every emotion, every response is shaping us into one kind of person or another. Either we’re moving toward likeness to Christ or away from Him into some sort of caricature of the person God intended us to be.
This week 5 sisterfriends joined me in talking about the growing old and growing up- listen in and be blessed. And In the meantime, aging is the accumulation of more stories of the faithfulness of God and a display of God’s determination to love and care for his own.
Reflect & Pray When wrinkles and weakness come with age And life with its stress takes a toll, Yet beauty and vigor can still be seen When Jesus gives peace to one's soul. —D. De Haan
"Grow up" is what the young are told—"age gracefully" when growing old.
Think about this for a minute: you are outside, it's a beautiful day and you are on a trail - a trail that we designed just for you with all the things that you need to finish well no matter the hills and valleys. You don't have to worry about rest stops, supplies or anything else - and you get to congratulate and support those that are next to you.
How is God strengthening you to finish the race marked out for you?
This is God.
God has created a race for you - one where He is present and gives you all the endurance you need. Are you ready? To throw away insecurity instead of confidence? Quitting is not an option, Sistefriends!

Last week it was about setting priorities - making first things first and this week we are sharing what faithfulness looks like in our lives. Morning routines, setting up the night before, and praying. It is no longer about a check in the box or gathering credits for good deeds - but being delighted in the Word at all times. With a firm foundation of faith we are setting our eyes on Jesus and everything that is to come.
Starting your day by setting your eyes on Jesus in the Word will shift every hour to come. You’ll never regret spending time in the Word of God. Begin the night before, sisters. Give Jesus your first moments, your last moments, and every moment in between! And watch every moment change after spending time in his presence. -

What is the first thing you do when you get up in the morning? Scroll the internet? Watch the news? Do you know that how you spend the first 5 minutes of your day is a great indicator of how your day will go? So, are you starting your day distracted, zoned out, riled up by the news or have you made God a priority - the FIRST priority - to start your day seeking Him.
In this episode we are talking about what it looks like when you make the main thing, the main thing. When God is at the center, at the top and everything that you do is under prayer. We are prayer warriors who not only put our priorities in the right place, but live them out and encourage one another to do the same. Get your pen and paper cause the time is now. When God’s people put God first, God’s blessings began to flow.
God gave you his firstborn Son. Jesus is the firstfruit of the resurrection. The Holy Spirit gives you the firstfruits of heaven.
Let’s make this the year that we respond in kind.
“Heavenly Father, I will make my first things Your first thing by seeking Your kingdom and Your righteousness. I believe whatever I ask You in prayer, I will receive it. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.” — This is our prayer

BECOMING A PRAYER WARRIOR, MY LIFE’S PURPOSE. I know that The Lord has been tugging on my heartstrings not just in an attempt to teach me more about the richness of prayer, but also to teach me about how to come in to communication with Him more deeply and with a sense of respect. I
Last week ALL prayer warriors were called to action!
And this week, after answering the call we are sharing on becoming warriors.
We intend to share some of what we are learning with you & we hope that you too, will step out and seek to understand prayer better.
It is about a deeper, more meaningful way of prayer so we can see things through God's eyes. To become means to take on and transform - and that is exactly what we are going to do. God's power is in charge and we will walk this out, without distractions and being fully present. Get your index card and get ready... I am a Prayer Warrior!
Scripture References: Hebrews 13:17-18 Acts 6:3-4 2 Peter 1:3 Luke 18:17 I hope that this encourages you to re-evaluate your prayer life with Christ. If you have any questions, ask. I love comments and am always here for you. In the meantime have a blessed rest of the week and thank you for allowing us to share a little of what has been placed on our hearts.

Calling all prayer warriors! If there were ever a time for Prayer Warriors, now is the time.
Let’s rise up together!
Prayer Warriors are needed!
We’ve been called to battle. Not a battle of this world, but of the spiritual realm. As believers, we need prayer warriors on our knees in prayer and to join in the battle for God’s Kingdom.
Yes... YOU! We are talking to you. The time is now for all of us to rise up and be the prayer warriors that God has called you to be. In this week's episode we are talking about the power of PRAYER and how an active prayer life is the source of our strength. We will walk in our faith over all fear, praying boldly as we pray. And yes, ambassadors are putting on the armor. Get your pen, paper and worship song - let's go! Scripture References:

Lets say you were baking a cake and you just pulled it out of the oven. It cools off, would you just leave it there? Probably not. You would put it together - put frosting on it, decorate it, write a name and a message on. You would make the most out of it so that when it was time to serve and eat it, you will experience it in its fullness. That is what we are doing on this weeks episode as we talk more in depth about our One Word for the year and how to make the most out of it. Get your pen and journal! and let's dig in.
This year's word is going to draw us into the arms of Jesus who listens with compassion etched into every line on His face.
A Prayer as You Choose Your Word of the Year Jesus, help me pay attention Your gentle nudges. Show me the word to choose for this year and help me dive into it- help me devote some time into it. Help me lean in even when it makes me uncomfortable. God you will prevail Amen

In this vision of God’s kingdom the table is always being expanded, another leaf is being added, then another and another.
“Put another leaf in the table, company is coming over!” Guess who our company was this week at the table.
This is what our ministry celebration is all about today. This is what God’s ministry at Girl Talk Ministry is all about- there is always room for more.
Reflection- How are you feeling abou the new year?
Who do we invite? Who do we not invite? Who is on the invitation list? Are we on the list? Have we ever not been invited?
And then the consuming question for not only Church history but world history, “With whom do I eat?”, or to be more blunt, “With whom do I not eat?”

It’s all about with whom we eat. It’s all about the chicken dish, the lasgna, spaghetti, and the peach cobbler,- there are so many dishes that we could serve - don't forget the table cloths and the basket of bread and putting another leaf. Pull up close because this is going to be an amazing time.
Get One Word for the new year…but be careful! It might change you.
Would you believe us if we told you that one word can change your life?
We know that JESUS is a life changing word - but what about the words that He tells us in the Bible?
When was the last time you sat quietly, intentionally and asked the Holy Spirit to speak a word?
In this episode, Theresa and Candis, continue their annual tradition, by discussing the concept of a “word of the year”, a word given to us by God to help shape our heart, mind, and direction for 2024. They each share different years in which they believe how has God spoken to them through ONE Word, how to cultivate it, and how we can listen to the voice of God and His guidance.
It is an opportunity to not only engage in all the spiritual disciplines but walk in teaching, growing, molding and changing.
Get a pen and paper, someone is going to get a word!
Journal Questions: 1. How was God present to you in your word for 2023? 2. Take some time to reflect on what God desires to reveal to you as your word of the year. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal this to you. Make sure to write it down and memorialize it in a way that will keep it at the forefront of your mind throughout the year. 3. What is one change you can make in the coming year to be more open to the will of God? 4. What themes has God been using as an opportunity to encounter Him? 5. Are there specific scriptures, saints, or quotes that will serve as a guide or reminder of your word during the year?
Last week we talked about roots and how it affects everything we do. In order for our roots to grow and the seed what it needs, we have to be aware of our soil.
In this week's episode we are going in deeper - now that the roots are in the soil what is their purpose, what are the roots connected to?
How are we taking care of the roots in order to build up what God has put inside each one of us?
SO, WHAT DOES “BECOMING ROOTED” IN HIM LOOK LIKE? HOW DO WE START NOURISHING OUR ROOT SYSTEM IN FAITH? Get your pen and paper - it's getting real.

After last week's recap about the Sisterfriendsgiving - we saw first hand how important is to know what our foundation is in. So we have reached in and gathered and now we are going to take the next couple of weeks and see what it means to allow Gods word to be rooted in our hearts.
This podcast will dive deep into what it means to be ROOTED in Christ. We talk about how to let God’s word work into the soil of our hearts and then watch great things happen.
Get your pen and journal because we refuse to sit at the table He has prepared and not take action!
Lord, help me to cultivate a heart that is receptive to Your Word. May it take root deeply within me and bear fruit in abundance.
Thank you for stopping by,
Stay rooted and grounded in love 🤎

Sisterfriends! We are so excited for this week's episode.
We are recapping the Sisterfriendgiving with a special guest joining us to talk about all the different aspects and what truly happens when you listen, trust and give ALL the pieces over to God.
We all need friends who bring us back to who we are in Christ, challenging and cheering us on throughout our spiritual journeys, speaking God’s Truth when we lose our way. These are sisterfriends.
Get your pen and your journal, we are reaching out and gathering around the table - and we need you!

Am I In The Place of God
Episode #80, we discuss pulling up closer to the table even more.
Joseph’s attitude was, “Am I in the place of God?”
That’s a great lesson for us to learn today. We need to be careful of not assuming God’s place.
As we adjust our vison to 50/20 as Joseph did in Genesis 50:20. Joseph’s response provides a wonderful insight into his character and speaks volumes to us about how to deal with those who wrong us. Joseph didn’t blame them for any heartache he initially suffered. He didn’t blame God. Nor did he use his position to seek retribution against his brothers.
So grab your pen and paper and let's go in, so we are able to answer -Am I in the place of God? Are you?
Elisabeth Elliot once said, "The secret is Christ in me, not me in a different set of circumstances." God's deliverance for us might look different than we imagine, but whether He rescues us out of our circumstances or meets us in the midst of them, He is a very present help (Psalm 46:1) right where we are today. As Esther 9:1-15 reminds us, God's deliverance will come.
As we continue to pull up closer to the table to be a part of all that God has for us.
This week, its's forgive or forget and some misconceptions- we have come to realize we can’t love like we have never been hurt because of how we handle forgiveness or not..
We learned that when people struggle with unforgiveness, it shows. This is an absolute: Hold on to a grievance or hate as if your life depended on it, and will show you emotional, spiritual and even physical decay. .
Then scripture says, "Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do." Colossians 3:13
Grab your Bible, get a pen and paper - it is time to let go, shift your focus, forgive and move on to what God is calling you to.
We are continuing in pulling up close to the table to be a part of all that God has for us.
This week it's Love- but it is not the love that is seen in the movies, or even love that has conditions - it is the ability, the power and the choice to love like we have never been hurt. To understand that God loves us and has the ability to restart our hearts. To go from the broken place to complete healing. In this episode we are emptying our hands so that we can truly release the past and reach for the future.
Grab your Bible, get a pen and paper - it is time to Let go. Shift your focus. Forgive and move on, and for you to what God is calling you to.
In this episode we are continuing the conversation from last week -
pulling up closer to the table for our partnership with God. But this week, we are digging in deep and stopping to ask ourselves "Are we doing our part?"
In scripture God tells us exactly who He is and in doing that we are to understand that we are made in HIS image. As His children we do not have to worry about what is happening around us because God has said we are free, healed and whole.
Now all of this sounds wonderful, but if we are not doing our part - reading the word, praying, sharing, fellowshipping and to be obedient to His prompting.- then we have not even sat down at the table yet.
Get a pen and journal - it's going to get good!
Scripture References: 2 Chronicles 7:14 Romans 8:28-29 Proverbs 1:23-30 Psalm 54:4 Proverbs 20:30 Colossians 3:16 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
Imagine for a moment that God is not all-powerful in a traditional sense, but that God is instead all-partnerable. God’s Part and My part changes me. Life change happens best in the context of relationships. We all have a part- God has a part; we have a part; teachers have a part; and fellow believers have a part. God works in; we work out; teachers work with; and the believers work together.
To know that with God it's not just about sitting back waiting for Him to do everything, but engaging - reading, praying, worshiping - doing our part as well. It’s time we have work to do!

This week we are hitting the ground running.

We are sure that the answer is yes.
But do you know that when you pull up to the table, that God has set for you, His power will change your life?

When God calls, don’t make excuses!
Have you ever wondered if God could use someone like you? When I first became a Christian, it was overwhelming for me to think that God would allow someone like me to come into a relationship with Him. It was more than enough. But God wants us to serve Him and He’s given us spiritual gifts to do so.
What a privilege!
So why are we sitting on the sidelines instead of being used by God?
Lord, I am available to you.

In this last episode of being unoffended we are asking the question: what is your offended heart really doing? We make the choice every day to participate in a cancel culture society that teaches us to be easily offended with no love or humbleness in our hearts or live a life knowing that we are a part of Gods story. The principal error of cancel culture is that it lacks mercy. No apology is good enough for those who are “offended.”
So here is another question: where do you fall? or can you cancel someone and love them at the same time?
Quotable-The principal error of cancel culture is that it lacks mercy. No apology is good enough for those who are “offended.”
So, why not start today?
Allow God’s amazing grace to start a revolution inside your heart, overflowing into your life and into the lives of those around you.
Our world, this cancel culture in which we live, needs the message of grace now more than ever before.
Blessings

"Becoming Unoffendable"
In this week's episode we are answering YOUR questions about all things related to being unoffended. How we deal with in our everyday lives, what it means to choose to stay without offense and what we have learned during these last two months of study.
We have learned that...
As followers of Christ, we must choose to avoid giving offense, but we must also choose to not take offense.
Being offended is always a sign of immaturity. Christians must be so grounded in the truth and rooted in our identity in Jesus that we choose to become unoffendable.
We also ask you to come up with a quote that describes what you have learned during this series so far - we can't wait to hear yours.
Scripture References: Proverbs 19:1 Ephesians 4:31-32 Proverbs 18:19 James 3:16
Do you remember being little and when you did something wrong, an adult would tell you to say "Im sorry"and the issue was resolved pretty quickly? What has happened as we have gotten older we will decide not to forgive someone? Then as we are holding on to the unforgiveness we cannot walk where God is taking us and we are constantly offended.
In this episode we are talking about what it takes to forgive -
how we can choose to Bring…it…back…to…God!
Keep our emotional wellness healthy, and realize the freedom that we have access to.
“God has called us all to live a life of forgiveness and living unoffended.”
Scripture References: Matthew 18:23-35 Ephesians 4:32 1 Corinthians 10:31 Matthew 14:13-24
When we feel that we have been done wrong, we will try to even the score, make things right in our own eyes and seek justice. Feels good right? To make others feel the way that we do? Now take a pause - stop and consider what that is really accomplishing. Have we made things better, or started a cycle of vengeance? And is that even our place?
In this episode we are going to discuss how enacting justice is not our place, but God's, and what it says about the hurts and offenses we carry. Payback time is up to God.
Forgive and let go for God’s role is to establish a payment plan of justice and judgment.
Scripture References: Luke 18:1-8 Hebrews 10:30-31 Proverbs 19:11 Romans 12:12 Mark 4:16-17 Matthew 18:33
The last few weeks we have been talking about being unoffendable.
What that means in the word of God and how it translates to how we live our lives. Have you ever thought about what happens after? Also we can't forget that we live in a society that is looking for any excuse to claim offense.
What comes next? As Christians, we should try our hardest to minimize the offense, knowing that we will fail to completely eliminate it.
In this weeks episode we are going to walk through to the other side and see where humility, perseverance, desperation, and resilience can land us. And to see where Gods help gives us exactly what we need.
Grab your pen and journal- fill your cup with some great wisdom.
Don’t look to give offense, nor look to find offense.
Scripture References: Matthew 15:21-28 1 Corinthians 10:32-33 Psalm 119:164-165 Romans 2:12 Acts 10:34-35
Offended. Offendable. Offending. How do you deal with these?
.
Have you ever been told, “You’re too sensitive,” or “Get over it,” after someone hurt you? Or maybe you’ve been guilty of saying that to someone else?
.
When was the last time you took pause to see where your emotions were leading you instead of the truth of what God says about you? God gave us our emotions and He also gave us the ability to use them for His glory and bring people together. In this episode we are talking about "us" - our actions, the words we say and how we really do have the power to make a U-turn and live a life where offense cannot reside.
Grab your pen and journal and let's talk about "How to be sensitive, but not easily offended.
Scripture References: Psalm 119:165 Philippians 4:6-7 Matthew 7:3-4 Psalm 51:10-12
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come.…
— Luke 17:1 Meaning, it’s inevitable that offenses are going to happen, but it’s how we handle them that is important. Can you imagine going through your day feeling humiliated, hurt, and ashamed in everything that you do? How would you interact with your family, be with coworkers, talk to neighbors? -“When you live offended you are partnering up with the enemy.” –Or would you rather go through your day acknowledging all that God has done for you, speaking healing and fullness? When we live a life that is unoffended we are given those gifts which are tied to who we are in Christ. We are able to give forgiveness for those that hurt us because we know that God has forgiven us. It is the very thing that allows us to move in the freedom and be the conquerors that God has said we are. Get your pen and write out the declaration! and this week journal prompt. This week's questions- 1. Can you think of an occasion when you unintentionally offended someone, and you were totally shocked when you heard how he or she perceived what you said or did?
Have you ever been offended by someone, only to find out later that the person never intended to offend you and was genuinely sorry when he or she found out how you felt about it?
What do you think is the most mature way a person can respond when he or she is tempted to get caught in the trap of offense? How do you think you should deal with a potential offense when someone hurts your feelings or lets you down?
You are not alone in this! Always make the choice to seek him and his guidance.
How About You? How about you? I’d love to hear what you think about this topic and how you are choosing to be unoffendable in your own life. Please feel free to leave a comment below, or to contact me directly.
Scripture Reference: Luke 17:1-4 Acts 1:8 Ephesians 4:31-32 Mark 11 1 Peter 8
When it comes to being offended it is often connected to something that has happened to us and the response that comes after. Have you ever stopped to consider that when we become offended it is due to the criticism we do to ourselves? And the reason that we are so quick to criticize is because we are not walking in our God given identity. (Let that sink in for a minute).
In this episode we are going to see how offense happens when we do not know who God has called us to be and what the truth of the word says.
Every day you and I have an opportunity to become offended at God and at other people. But when you choose to walk with Jesus and keep your faith in him, you become blessed! If you have become offended with God repent and then recount every good thing he has done for you. Don’t let offense be an option, but turn to Christ as you reflect on scripture as well as all the blessings in your life

Seven Deadly Sins -Glittering Vices-
It has been seven weeks of talking, learning and taking a deeper look into sin and just how deadly they are. We have been convicted, encouraged, given wisdom and shown how we have the opportunity to choose life and freedom over death.
REFLECT AND RESPOND Which of the seven resonated with you? How have you identified the areas of sin in your life and seen where God wants to give you His spirit of freedom? but you keep trying to ignore? ROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:ARISE FROM EVERY SICKNESS AND BE MADE WHOLE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
Scripture teaches us about two ways to live—the way of life, led by wisdom, and the way of death, led by folly. Sin blinds us to the true good. Sin binds us and holds us back. Although we can’t always see it, choosing to live bound and suffocated is sheer foolishness.
Stay tuned at the very end to hear what the next series is!

Seven Deadly Sins -Greed
Greed. Greed is so common in our culture that I don’t even know if much of anyone even counts it as a sin anymore. We have to be careful when it comes to this - it is a slippery slope that infiltrates everything that we do. It is a sin that seeps into our homes, finances, and relationships if we aren't careful. This is the last week of the Seven Deadly Sins and we are sharing how impactful greed is and where it shows the areas in which we aren't content with what God has given us. Reflect and Respond: How do you guard your heart from letting greed take over? What areas are strongholds for you in the struggle with greed? Pray about what action God would have you take to curb your cravings for more. So this week, may your prayer be – “Search me, O Lord, and see if there is any greed in my heart.” Scripture References:
Matthew 16:24 Luke 12:15 1 Thessalonians 15:18 Hebrews 13:5 Proverbs 28:25, "The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the LORD will prosper." (NIV)
When we hear the word sloth it's typically the animal that comes to mind. But have you thought of it as something that if you engage in keeps you from what God is asking you to do? Sloth goes against not only the very nature of God but puts us in a posture of apathy and giving up.
In this week's episode of the Seven Deadly Sins we will define what the Bible says about sloth and how it is in opposition to the exceedingly abundant life that God has for each one of us.
Slothfulness steals our excitement and joy in the purpose God has for us. We may be able to fool ourselves by thinking that laziness is no big deal, but God isn’t pleased with poor attitudes, careless ways, and shoddy efforts. He wants us to do our work heartily, as unto Him (Colossians 3:23). Scripture Reference: Proverbs 10:4 Isaiah 40:31 Proverbs 21:25 Matthew 20:25 Proverbs 12:27
But I Have A Right To Be Angry We all know that feeling of our heart beating fast, blood rushing to our face, breathing is shallow because we are angry. So angry that we could scream - and sometimes we do. But after our hearts have slowed down and breathing has gone back to normal, when was the last time we looked at what was at the root of our anger? Even looking at what God has to say about being angry? In this episode we are opening up the conversation about the deadly sin of anger. What does it mean, how it connects to us and where God is calling us to something bigger than we can even see.

Have you ever thrown yourself a pity party?
Even if you claim you haven’t, I’m guessing you know someone who has. Self-pity has us putting our focus on the hardship or situation and then expecting others to join us in that space. Here is the thing, when we let self-pity take over, we are saying that God is not good, that He is not full of mercy, grace and love. We have decided that pity is more important - but in fact it does not do anything for us except make us feel bad. This episode is Week 3 of the seven deadly sins where we will share how self-pity keeps us from the fullness of God.

What comes to your mind when you hear the word gluttony?
A huge table with unlimited supply of decadent food?

Have you ever thought about how these external things actually keep you from God and attach your identity to something that will never fulfill you? In this episode we are breaking down gluttony, why it is considered a sin and looking at one of the most important exchanges in the word.
Get a pen and take notes - its week 2 of the Seven Deadly Sins! Scripture References: Philippians 3:19 1 Corinthians 15:32 Titus 1:12 Mattew 4:1-11
Seven Deadly Sins - The trouble with lust isn’t that we lust. As we've said before, we were born to lust. You see, God created humans as beings with strong desires.
Lust - intense desire for (sexual, money, power, fame) 1 John 2:16, For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. You are either going to lust after God and His Kingdom or you are going to lust after people, possessions, positions, and pleasures. But, no matter what, you are going to lust. One of my favorite verses is Colossians 3:1-4. I pray that you’ll memorize it and then make sure you also practice it: “If then, you have been raised with Christ, seek those things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things, for you have died and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
The Seven Deadly Sins. We have all heard about them, seen them in movies, on TV and various interpretations.
But when was the last time you looked at them through the lens of the Word? What does the Bible say about sin and how it destroys our relationship with God? Over the next seven weeks we are going to open up the conversation regarding each one of these sins to not only have an understanding rooted in truth, but also to see where in our own lives we can shed His light.
Remember, that no sin is worse than another, but a few seem to trip up most people.

Getting into the Faith Hall of Fame
You’ve probably heard of the Hollywood “Walk of Fame,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the “Hall of Fame” of various sports – but have you ever heard of the faith, “Hall of Fame?” That’s how the new testament book of Hebrews, chapter 11 is often referred.
We should all aspire to be in Faith’s Hall of Fame!
This week's episode side we will talk with some sisterfriends about there journey of The Faith Hall of Fame. There were times in our stories were God opend our eyes to see Him working over and over again that no matter what the temptation or struggle – God was there and He was the answer. He has always been there for us – so we should always act like it. Always. That’s what gets us into your faith hall of fame.
Let’s dive into these amazing testimonies.
You will be able to see– by what we believe, NOT what we achieve! It’s a path of peace.
After you have taken His truth to heart, put pen to paper and write your very own name into an “In faith sentence….” as if it were to appear the Faith Hall of Fame. May this be a reminder that you too have the opportunity to carry on the legacy of faith in action!
in faith sentence....
I want to be a woman filled with faith, who steps out boldly, and STILL TRUSTS even in the face of uncertainty and opposition. This was my truest self, rising to the occasion over the pack of lies I had given myself over and over- I walk by faith in the Lord.
Gifts are given because we think the other person will like it, we thought of them when we saw it and they also show the unique relationships we have with the people in our lives. How would you feel if you gave someone a gift and they never even opened it? The gift was never used and it sat collecting dust? In this episode we are talking about how God has given us the gift of faith, HIS faith, and at times we let it collect dust never opening it up to His power, knowledge, presence or wisdom.
It's time to dust it off and use it!
because...
To follow Jesus is to embark upon a life of adventure and excitement! Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 2:9 Judges 6:15 Deuteronomy 31:6 Psalms 25:4
Giants. They are big, scary and are designed to tell us what to do. But what happens when you take faith, God's power, protected by the armor and look those giants directly in the face? In that moment you decide that the giant has no hold over you and you were designed to defeat it. In this episode we talk about what it means to face those giants head on, looking at them from God's perspective and walking out the victory in faith of what He has promised.
I don’t want to fight my battles any other way, do you?
Pray for all these things and watch Him work. Let the Holy Spirit lead you. Praise and worship Him for what He has done and what He can do. Take refuge in the hope we have in Jesus. ♥
Let God fight for you and know the battle is already won!
Blessings in the battle,

This week we are going deeper into discovering what it means to put our faith into action. Seeing how the "Hall of Faithers" (including some new ones) took faith from knowledge to partnering with God in what He was doing. We will also see how that applies to us today and look at the ways faith has life - it grows, transforms and develops.
RESPOND: • Honestly, how has your faith in Jesus been showing itself lately? • What are some real ways that you can begin to SHOW people what you have faith in?
Actions unlock the power resident in faith.

THE HALL OF FAITH
When it comes to the Hall of Fame we give those athletes recognition and praise for all they have done. They deserve it right? They have put in hours upon hours, perfected their craft, crushed records and earned a spot that not everyone can. Now what would you say if we applied that to our faith? Looking at the Hall of Faith not only in scriptures but in our lives. How individuals in the Bible put in the time to have a relationship with God, recognize His voice above all and in turn earned the space that He had just for them. In this episode we are going to share the "players" who have earned a spot in the Hall of Faith and what it means when faith, hope and love come together in action. We're going to explore faithfulness, and you and I are going to remember great is God's faithfulness in our lives. So are you ready? We're going to go to Hebrews chapter 11.

What is faith? It’s more than just information. It’s life. It can be easy to go to Church on Sunday to check the box and then move on with the rest of your life. But Jesus calls us to live out our faith in all that we do.
So, how do you take what you hear on Sunday and live it out in your family and in your community? Through reflection and practice. At Cup of Soul, we reflect on God's word and give practical starting points to live out your faith in your family and in your community.

Are you living a life that is evidence of the faith you have?
Is something holding you back from soaring into the place that God has you?
It is time to move from fear into faith! We know that with faith.... Fear Aint In This House!
The basis of faith is a correct conversation with God, where you are looking back on all the things that He has done and leaning forward into the relationship with Him. We will look at Habakkuk to see how this prophet went from complaining to praying. Get your pen ready to speak life over yourself!
Why do Christians sometimes doubt God? Why are Christians sometimes anxious about life? What can we do about it? Meditate on how the gospel of Habakkuk speaks to your life in the midst of trials.
You, believer in Christ, you have accepted Christ’s righteousness by faith for salvation so do not shrink back. Live boldly. Change the world. Be proud to be counted as one of God’s people.

For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
That is some Crazy Faith
It’s only crazy until it happens. However, you are so close to Jesus’ hands. You are so close to fulfilling the purpose of God for your life.
Where does the Lord have you? Are you waiting to launch out in faith? Are you in the middle of a storm anticipating any minute His reassurance? Or has He asked you to get out of the boat toward a major faith-stretching goal? Wherever you are in your continuum of faith in Christ trust Him in the transition. If you are on the shore of starting—get in the boat of belief. If you are in the middle a fearful storm of life—look for Christ coming toward you. If He is asking you to get out of the boat and walk on water—trust Him.
until God shows up! As long as you know that Jesus has said to come, He has said this is what I have for you, this is what I’ve called you to, this is My plan for you, then you can wait as long as you have to for it to fully come to pass, and He will refresh you to wait on His perfect timing.
Where is the Lord asking me to get out of my comfort zone and to go with Him?
Scripture References: 2 Corinthians 5:7 Matthew 14:28 Nehemiah 2:11-20 Psalm 1:1-3 Joshua 3:15-16 Declaration: I declare today that I will walk by faith. A faith that keeps my eyes on Jesus, a faith that supplies everything I could ever need, and a faith that allows me to be free. I serve a God who is faithful and just, all that He calls me to deepens my relationship and shows me what I cannot see. I will not be stopped by fear, doubt, or negative self-talk because I have one life and choose to not give up. Obedience to His movements will stay on my mind. As I obey He will make a way. In Jesus name, Amen. There are key elements to faith and since Christians can’t live in this world successfully without faith, isn’t it important to know how faith works? I promise this episode will stir you to step out– even if it looks crazy!

The privilege of enjoying deep, meaningful friendships is one of the best things about life. Oftentimes, friends seem closer to us than our actual family members. We all desire purposeful connections with people who have our back. This episode I have my partner in podcast crime Candis with me and I invite two more sisterfriends to join us. So come listen to a great year recap and an amazing start of the year.
There are ‘friends’ who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.” – Proverbs 18:24 (NLT)
Consider this story… During WWI, a soldier saw his best buddy get hit by enemy gunfire. Calling out to his commander, he asked: “Sir, my friend has been shot! Can I carry him back here?” His commander said, “No, it won’t do any good to lose you both.” The soldier disregarded his commander’s words and bolted out of the trenches to try and save his friend. He was able to retrieve him; however, in the process, they were both mortally wounded. When they got to safety, the commander was furious, shouting, “Now I lost both of you! It wasn’t worth it!” Yet, with his dying breath the young soldier whispered, “But it was worth it, sir, because when I got to my friend, he said, ‘Jim, I knew you would come.’”
That’s a beautiful picture of what sacrificial friendship, comunitas, looks like. I don’t know about you, but I want to cultivate friendships that are forged in the fire. For it’s in the fire where we find true friends who will stick closer than a brother.

We have talked about prayer, spiritual disciplines, connection, shared our lives in real time and broken down how we have the ability to experience God in all areas of our lives. This week we share how we want to experience God in the New Year and how that is connected to change and obedience. We will share the changes that will be happening inside of GirlTalk and what it means to be empowered in order to empower others.

So how do we experience the joy of the Lord every single day?
When we think about joy, it is associated with happiness, pleasure, delight. But what about in those situations that are hard - is joy still possible? God reminds us that not only is joy possible but that we can experience Him in His fullness to never leave us and give us the strength we need to sustain anything. In this week's episode we are sharing in what ways we are offered the joy of the Lord continuously and how it allows us to see God differently as we experience and mature in Him.

Breathe Deeply.
Being still is hard.
Sometimes we can't sense God's presence because there's too much of everything else going on. Too much noise. Too much traffic. Too much confusion.
We live in a fast paced world that prides itself on productivity and quantity. But in Psalms 46:10 God offers another perspective... Be still and Know that He is God. It's a verse that we all know, but not one that we take the time to sit with. In this episode we are going to break down what it means to be still, why it is important and how it will transform your relationship with God. We are people who want to experience God in His fullness in our worship, prayer, praise and everyday life.
I want to pick up again today on this concept that we Experience God's Presence in a Powerful Way in last session about the His presence is: In us, With us and Through us.
This is week -
God’s Presence Is My Good “But as for me, God’s presence is my good. I have made the Lord God my refuge, so I can tell about all you do.” (Psalm 73:28 CSB)
When life gets difficult, it is quite easy to slip into a negative cycle of thinking viewing ourselves as victims and our life as a series of bad events. When a tragedy darkens our world and casts a black shadow on our future, it is tempting to become blind for the good in our life.
In moments like that, when I feel my life devoid of any good struggling to go on through the day, the last words of Psalm 73 breathe fresh hope and help me shift my perspective: “But as for me, God’s presence is my good.”
Let’s resolve to look for the good today and everday. It doesn’t matter how much pain and adversity life throws at us; it doesn’t need to define our lives. Good is right here with us because God will never leave us nor forsake us.
Action: Ask God how he wants you to change the world. Whatever He says, write it down, tell someone who loves Jesus about it, then go do it!
Action: Spend some time asking God to show you how you can be more like Him. Whatever He says, write it down and do it.
Do I know that God is searching the earth and does my heart completely feel His presence?
The Bible says that no matter where we go we cannot escape the presence of God. (Psalm 139:7-12) You don’t have to go far to experience the presence of God, the Holy Spirit is all around us. And if you are a Christian, the Holy Spirit lives inside of YOU.
Join me in the next couple podcast-we are going to look at how God's presence is in us, with us and is through us and also spending time with Him by ourselves.
Grab your pen and paper!
Hey sisterfriends!
This week's episode is a little different - we are taking a pause and inviting you to come and sit down with us.
Get some tea or coffee, blanket and a snack so we can all get to know each other better. Especially as we are getting ready for Thanksgiving, and the holidays in general, we want all of you to know how much God loves you and how worthy you are for healing - one that fulfills you in a way that only He can and allows you to walk in freedom.
Happy Thanksgiving! We love you! Theresa & Candis
Knowing someone’s name, really truly knowing them, is humbling. When people slowly pull back the layers, it lets us get to know them for who they are; there’s so much power in being known.
This week's the podcast we dive into the power of His name through -Accountability,Intimacy andAuthority
And He even declared himself the way, the truth, and the life, He was not just telling people that they ought to believe in him to be saved. Jesus was saying that he was the embodiment of the scriptures, the fulfillment of God's promise. He was claiming to be the Messiah—
There are the fun questions throughout the podcast that we would love to hear from you.
There is power in knowing a name. I pray that you get to know the names of those around you. Deepen relationships with others in your life. It gives us the smallest, sweetest taste of what Jesus does for us every-single-day.
Arms lifted. Eyes closed. Drums and guitar about to hit those notes. You are ready to worship. A lot of times that is how a worship experience can be described, but that is not the only way we can seek God through worship. In this episode we talk about not only the different ways we can worship God, but how each one of them is an act of holy obedience.

This week's episode - we discuss how we can
Experience God's Presence in a Powerful Way through the Word.
God’s Word is living and active. It is sharper than any twedged osword. His words penetrates the depths of our being and transforms us from the inside out.
Hebrews 4:12 Reminds Us To Read His Word Daily Are you daily reading his word?
What a powerful picture of God’s word and its power in our lives on a daily, not just daily, been an ongoing basis. God’s word, his spoken word is living and active like when we open up the Bible, even as I’m reading Hebrews 4:12 right now, and this is not a dead word.
No, this is a living word.
That’s what a two-edged sword, a sharp two-edged sword it does when it touches you, it affects you. And so that’s the picture here.
Listen and be intentionally in creating an environment where we have invited God in, we are seeking to have a powerful experience. We are going to worship, fast, pray, meditate, take communion, and read scriptures - sharing with one another along the way.
Get your pen and paper ready!
And we want to hear your answer to the Fun Questions
Don’t you love clean? Not cleaning, but the state of being clean. A cool shower to wash away the sweat of a hot day feels so refreshing. Simple pleasure comes from pulling on a freshly laundered sweater, climbing into clean sheets at bedtime, or smelling a baby after his bath.
Yet, external freshness cannot compare to the incredible joy of experiencing God’s cleansing in our hearts, minds, and bodies.
Consider the ways sin has soiled us and God promises to wash us. In this episode we are continuing with our conversation about how to experience God in a powerful way. Pulling from our three steps, recognize, awareness and response, we are going to walk out the spiritual disciplines TOGETHER for the next week. His presence is not for us to just have alone and collect - but to be encountered in a powerful way - the way He intended. During the next few episodes we will be talking about how to do just that, by recognizing, being aware and responding. Get your journals you are going to want to write it down! Last week we broke down the Spiritual Disciplines and why they are important for a life that is reflective of God. Now we are going to talk about the messy sides of them - the sides that no one really wants to share because we are focused on staying tidy. But it is in the messy where we can find sweet surrender. A space where we are no longer hiding and where true growth and transformation will happen. Are you going to keep tidying up or are you ready to get messy? At God's table it is full of everything that we can possibly imagine - enough to completely satisfy. So what do you need? - Grace, peace, healing, abundance, community? Sit down, He is waiting for you. In this episode we are talking about what it means to sit at the table that God has prepared for you. A table that does not look at your past or is concerned about what you can do on your own. This is a table that He has made based on HIS grace, healing, peace, abundance and is offering you a community that will transform your life. Sisterfriends also have a table for you - we will share our experiences from last year and let you know that there is a seat waiting for you. Who is that one person you cannot wait to talk to because you know they are going to give you great advice? How would you feel if they poured their heart out to you and then left, never giving you a chance to respond? Well that's what we do with God. We will submit our prayers to Him, and then leave, never stopping long enough to give Him a chance to answer. In this episode we are talking about conversations with God - more importantly hearing God's voice. Every single day we have the opportunity to converse with God and there are many things He wants to tell us. We will talk about what His voice sounds like, the role of the Holy Spirit and what are the key things to do so we don't miss what He has for us.

Scriptures Roman 5:8, 2 Peter 1:2, James 4:6, 1Peter 4:10 and 2Cor 12:8-9
We have a choice to see each day as an opportunity to build endurance when we go through trials and struggles.

Listen in and let's face any of those doubts we have together.
Let's Be Fearless- Because we know life is not always happy. It’s not always easy. It deals harshly sometimes, it seems unfair, and we may wonder where God is, or why He didn’t stop that difficult event or illness from happening.
Scripture: Isaiah 61 and 62
His Truth says this: He was there. In the midst of it all.
And though we may not always see it, or feel it, or even understand it, we can know beyond a doubt, that He is now. Still. He is with us.

What if you stepped back and trusted God with your story? Knowing he will hold you and guide you.
Go ahead! Call their cards! Talk smack with the truth.
Stand before the people, trails, and struggles you fear and speak truth over them- even if your voice shakes.
Scriptures: John 10, Matthew 18;15-22 and Eph.6:13-15
Sweet friend, only God's Truth has the power to defeat Satan's lies.
It might feel intimidating but we can #Be fearless!
Fear is a powerful emotion. However, we Actually can Be Fearless-
Because...
Isaiah 41:10 reminds us - He is with us. He is our great God; He will harden us to difficulties, help us and uphold us with His hand of victory.
Max Lucado states "Feed your fears and your faith will starve. Feed your faith and your fear will starve."
Lets #BeFearless together.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear...
1 John 4:18 NIV, Isaiah 35:4, and 2Timothy 1:7
Be Fearless:
Fear always seems to come with claws that grip us and hold us tight. That sensation is not of God! His love can "Declaw" our fears and living fearlessly is the result. Now go, and may you forever feel His warm breadth upon you!
BeFearless
Be fearless: We can be thankful that we can run out of gas, run ourselves ragged or even run on empty, this is no way a reflection of God. He never runs out. And He is our portion we will never run out when we are connected to him. However, we have to be renewed each morning by plugging into the only unlimited source of life, power, and peach.
Phil 2:2, 2Cor.5:11-21 and Lam. 3:22-24
Beyond our physical needs, such as water and food, we also need spiritual nourishment that can only come from the God who created us. One of the ways that God provides fulfillment for us is through His Word.
Listen to the podcast and learn the benefits of being consistent in the Word.
Eye On Jesus
What we look at and dwell on affects who we are inside. It brings darkness into our souls. We have to make the right choices. Keeps our eye on the light.

The eye is the lamp of the body!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I ask that you would take our eyes and focus them on the light so that our whole bodies will be full of health and good things. In Jesus Names Amen.
Reflection:
How can you adjust your focus to allow more light into your life? How might this change you?
