Mike and Jay talk about the life and death of conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer, conservative columnist George Will’s advice to not vote Republican in 2018, whether the United States should follow Canada’s lead and legalize marijuana, Jay’s up close and personal encounter with Facebook’s attempt to help clean up political advertising, and Chris Pratt’s surprising MTV Movie Awards acceptance speech.
Trey and Ken start the bonus episode by finishing their conversation on free trade. Ken finishes his thoughts on how trade with poorer countries it might actually depress wages over the long haul. Trey and Ken also propose a thought experiment for considering the digital economy as compared to manufacturing.
Then The Guys turn their attention to San Francisco's new female African American mayor and ask what might be the causes and long term impact of a spike in women running for office. This leads to some longer term thoughts concerning the general election.
Finally Ken and Trey discover that while Trey likes to run hundreds of miles a year,Ken prefers his exercise sitting down with a good book on the back porch. They then banter about warranties before discussing Michael’s weightlifting. They both sincerely hope Michael skips this bonus episode as they simply had too much fun this week!
