Hi, I’m Emily Lyons and I think all inspiring people are inspired people. Being a businesswoman, CEO, serial entrepreneur, survivor, and general life enthusiast - I’m endlessly jazzed by the business of life, especially the stories of extraordinary people I’ve had the privilege to meet. I don’t think it’s fair to keep that privilege to myself and I think you deserve to be utterly lifted and shifted by these people too. What sort of people? People from a variety of businesses, top entrepreneurs, actors, pro athletes, influencers, models, and the boy next door - but most importantly, all raw and fallible human beings who have persevered beyond extremes to become the successes they are today.

I first met David Thorne through our connections with Cystic Fibrosis. David is based in the UK where he has worked in tech for a number of years, and is now making a pivot into a new entrepreneurial endeavour. David is one of the most dedicated, hard-working and positive people I've had the pleasure of meeting, despite the fact that he lives with the terminal disease cystic fibrosis himself.
Cystic fibrosis is a debilitating and incurable disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. It is a progressive disease, meaning that it gets worse over time, and eventually leads to death. The average life expectancy for someone with CF is just 37 years.
David has an incredible outlook on life that we can all benefit from, whether we are living with a terminal illness or not. In this interview, David shares his story of how he's dealt with his CF diagnosis, what it's like to live with a terminal illness, and how we can all thrive in the face of adversity.

Today's guest is Keith Grossman - innovator, disruptor and the President of TIME. To date, Keith has done nothing short of incredible things in his career. Today he shares some of his story, how to create the success you want in your life, using failure to your advantage and dispelling the work life balance myth.
Co-Founders Gina Skelton, Crystal Almeida and Nicole Puckerin have built a powerful community in a short period of time. If you aren’t familiar with the Mom Link, it’s a powerful community of like minded, female entrepreneurs. They established the company earlier this year and have already amassed 20,000 people into it, including myself. They’ve built the community off the fundamentals of giving back, providing support and then monetizing through resources, incredible events, sponsorships and a shop.
Having a community around your brand, your mission, your niche is so powerful for all entrepreneurs for a variety of different reasons. People are craving community now more than ever. Years ago joining a community meant finding something generic locally, now with the internet you can find just about any niche community and they’re global.
-
As an entrepreneur building a community is essential for lasting success, in whatever capacity you can. Community is so much more than just gathering people in some capacity, whether on app or website. When you’ve built a great, like minded community you can harness that power to get valuable consumer insight, build brand loyalty, increase awareness, have loyal customers, referrals, incredible support and so much more. After-all, there is POWER in proximity.
Selling is an integral part of starting and running a business. Yet so many entrepreneurs hate it. In fact, a whopping 81 percent of entrepreneurs say sales is their least favourite part about running a business. Don’t get me wrong - I understand the sentiment!
Whether you are trying to make your first sale, or looking for ways to increase revenue, this episode will provide you with the most valuable information on how to improve your sales skills and sell like a superstar.

What makes you successful? What keeps you successful?
Motivation, my friends. It is the driving force behind human actions. You need motivation to make any change in your life, whether it's a big one or a small one.
It's the driving force behind pretty much everything. It's why we do the things we do every day. We seek a desired outcome, so it boils down to wanting. You want something so bad, that you're willing to go through the actions, and sometimes all the struggle and hard work, in order to get it. So how do we find motivation when we need it, and more importantly, when we lose it?
Never did I think I would be openly sharing this.
Back in 2011 I spent a month in a mental hospital. I can now say it was one of the most important experiences of my life. It was perhaps one of the best things that could have happened to me. I learned many life changing lessons during my stay, and on this episode I am sharing them with you.

Andy Grammer has taken the music world by storm with a succession of pop hits, seven of which are certified gold or better.
