Michel Bordeau

I am the lucky therapist and life coach who gets to help neuro-exceptional teenagers transition into adulthood. The Neuro-Exceptional Years Podcast is about Sanity, Sobriety, and Serenity, the pragmatic principles of Generative Therapy. Parents of teens beg for sanity, sobriety, and serenity. And so do teens. One of the core principles of Generative Therapy is ego-friendliness or the ability to change the inner dialogue of our minds if it interferes with our mental well-being. In this podcast I talk about self-bullying, I discuss why and how it is beneficial to discuss self-shaming by referring to that concept with our neuro-exceptional kids, our teens. An ego-friendly approach to becoming aware and insightful about self-bullying is an effective way to engage our teens at an intellectual and emotional level that will make them want to end self-bullying, and improve their minds and self-concept.

Eating habits and mental well-being is a subject I always cover when I intake new clients in my practice as a psychotherapist and life coach. When I open the conversation about food I spend more time talking about when we eat that what we it. It is less about quality and quantity than it is about timing. Quite simply, it is about deciding when it is best to eat in order to nourish our brain. It is about a well-nourished brain which allows us to be productive, active, and energized and, in the end, to feel proud of our accomplishments that day, that week, that year. Nourishing our brain at the optimal time is what we need to maximize our mental capacity.
