SHIFT: Faithful Living in a Changing Culture - a Study of Daniel

Last week we saw how God blessed Daniel and his friends when they refused to SHIFT and continued to follow God's ways even when doing so meant they could die. Although in our culture, we may not risk our lives following God's ways, following Jesus is still radical. It stands out as very different from those around us. This week, as we study the 2nd chapter of Daniel, we'll discover one particular way that following Jesus goes against the world's current. The world teaches us to depend on ourselves - our gifts, our resources, our talents. Following Jesus means learning to depend on God and others. When push comes to shove, are you depending on yourself or on God? Invite a friend to join us as we take steps toward living in dependence on God!

Just like Daniel, we live in a culture whose values entice us to SHIFT our focus from following God wholeheartedly. Together we’ll learn from Daniel who time and time again, resisted the temptation to SHIFT his values to save his own skin or make his life easier. This week's sermon will specialize on how to deal with compromises when it comes to faith.
