Paul interviews David Gregory, New York Times #1 Best-selling author, playwright, and teacher whose life has come full circle. Despite a love for writing and liberal arts in high school and college, David opted for a “more practical” business degree that launched him into a successful ten-year career in compensation management with three consulting firms and Texas Instruments. After a decade of spreadsheets, however, he was ready to look for a career offering more personal meaning.
David returned to graduate school, earning a master's degree from the University of North Texas with concentrations in communication and sociology. During that time, he began creative writing in the form of two short screenplays, one dramatic and one science fiction. He also started a periodic newsletter before joining a Christian ministry as staff writer and editor. While there, he coauthored two nonfiction books, The Marvelous Exchange and The Rest of the Gospel: When the Partial Gospel Has Worn You Out.
While earning another master's degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, David entertained a new craft: writing fiction. He decided that in a culture dominated by sound bites, reality TV, and the Internet, communicating through story could reach otherwise untapped audience. Taking some material on worldviews that he had planned to put into nonfiction form, he began writing Dinner with a Perfect Stranger.
David's current study focuses on the postmodern worldview and how it intersects with the Christian conception of God, meaning in life, and the process of knowing (epistemology). He is currently writing his second novel.
David lives in Texas with his wife and two children, where he works for a nonprofit organization.

Darrel received his Master's degree in Divinity in 1991 and his doctorate in 1999. He served Church of the Holy Apostles in Katy Texas from November 2007 to February 2018 before his decision to step down from full-time ministry to focus on writing and helping other congregations. Currently Darrel is working on his first book, reflecting on his time in congregational leadership.
Darrel's decision to leave full-time congregational leadership emerged from the tragic death of his son. He and his wife Julie, are parents of two other children and three grandchildren. He describes his grief work as a "fundamental re-working of his theology." What emerged was an inclusive view of God's love and mercy.

I am happily married and currently a stay at home mom. I have 2 boys, Jedidiah who is 7yrs old and Solomon who is 4yrs old. My boys are the ones who introduced me to Gods unconditional love and grace. My Son, Jedidiah told me when he was 4 yrs old that Jesus built him a ladder. He goes up it and there is a door at the top where he opens and steps in heaven. Long story short, he’s told me about countless experiences in heaven and with God. One of my favorites is when he told me he remembered when he was a baby and God put him in his backpack and took him up his mountain. He also explains what God looks like and what Jesus looks like. I have all his experiences written in a journal. My little Solomon is now talking about a “sky house” where he sees the “light”. So I’m really excited for him as well! These boys actually led me out of religion where we left church and left everything we ever believed to start all over again like an infant. But this time, instead of following man and allowing man to be our interpreter/mediator, we are led directly from within no matter what it looks or sounds like. I’m also very blessed to have a husband on board and right by my side through all this change transformation. He and I See and Sense a lot alike so it’s made this journey so much easier. We are usually on point when sensing, seeing, and discerning. That has helped me so much in this journey and has been so encouraging for me!”

Florian Berndt lives in Germany on the Swiss/French Border to Basel. Growing up in a dysfunctional home, he had an encounter with Jesus in his early teens, which completely turned his life around.

"However, I quickly got caught up in fundamentalist religion, which led me to the brink of my sanity, until I caught a revelation of Abba’s love and heart – first for myself, and then for all creation. Since my entire theology got thrown out of the window after this, I started studying theology and looked afresh at scripture and church history, being pleasantly surprised that my heart had always known what I discovered. After having to deal with a lot of stuff that had been suppressed by religious addiction and trauma, we suddenly got thrown into ministry again a couple of years ago.
