Since conception, Kevin Anderson has been known to be the life of the party. Aka "The Living Party". At fifteen, his raw talent was born while spinning records and CDs in his bedroom. As Kevin entered his late teens he took his djing out of the bedroom and into house parties around Southern California. This became his first outlet to the dance music community, along with playing in night clubs around Los Angeles and San Diego. This fully immersed Kevin into the underground where he displayed his love for the club kid culture.

The infamous Desert Hearts added Kevin as a resident in 2012 and the rest was history. His productions have snagged him a number of releases on various labels such as Desert Hearts Records, Percomaniacs, Hood Politics Records, and many more.

His tracks have received support from everyone from Solardo to Lee Burridge to Groove Armada. To sum things up, he’s a certified bad ass that makes dope beats, performs confidently in the booth, and gets bodies shaking. His easy going vibes, and love for the scene, is the platform for curating the Kevin Anderson sound we all love. Expect a new string of releases for 2020!

My name is Teig Jewett. 1.) If you could eternally be stuck in one year's music scene, which year would it be & why?

I think the 00s. Music was raw and skills either as a dj or producer mattered.

2.) What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As a DJ? As an attendee?

As a clubber i will never forget Derick May during WMC in 2007, cant recall the venue. The night easily could turn into a riot when he played last track of his set, crowd was yelling not to stop but in south beach the closing times are different from down town. After all the yelling and shouting he dropped one more but after seconds of it, bouncers went on him. Amazing night! As a dj? pfff honestly too many to remember but will always remember my last tour in brazil and my morning gig in Dirtybird Campout

3.) What is one track that never gets old to you no matter how many times you play it?

Rhythim Is Rhythim - Strings Of Life

4.) If you could produce a track with anyone right now who would it be?

There are so many good artists around but i think Claude Von Stroke would be my first choice

5.) What advice would you give to an aspiring DJ?

To have faith and never stop working hard.

6.) If you could choose any venue or location to perform at where would it be?

Id really like to play at a boat party. Havent played yet and really looking forward.

The mule. Im persistent and peaceful but if u nag me a lot youll get a kick in your sweeties

I'd love to travel back to the Paradise Garage in the early 80s and hear, experience Larry Levan first hand. I read how he could make certain groups of people go crazy on the dancefloor.

  1. What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As a DJ? As an attendee?

Playing on a boat going across the Thames in London stands out. Floating passed Parliament while playing house music.

One of my first records I brought was Jeff Mills - Kat Moda EP, I had a bit of a 360 moment when hearing him play The Bells in Space Ibiza. He was playing live with a Roland 909 doing some cool fills.

  1. What is one track that never gets old to you no matter how many times you play it?

Hard to name one but I'll give you three that I have rediscovered again recently.

Electroliners - Loose Caboose (Bassbin Twins Remix)

Classic breaks track that still works well today.

Electribe 101 - Talking With Myself

Before Billy Ray Martin did loving arms, it also had a really cool Frankie Knuckles remix.

Microthol - Heliosphere

An obscure electro track that has so much emotion. It came on limited clear vinyl.

There's so many great artists out there some that come to mind are, Jamie XX, Four Tet, John Talobot, Pional, Justin Martin, Koze... The list could go on

  1. What advice would you give to an aspiring DJ?

Just keep plugging away, there will be ups and downs. Remember why you got into it from the beginning. For me it was theI music and bringing people from all walks of life together.

  1. If you could choose any venue or location to perform at where would it be?

The Do Lab stage at Coachella looks special also one the Dirtybird campouts would be on my list.

  1. What animal best describes you?

In the Chinese zodiac I'm a dog, that pretty much describes me. Loyal, loving, needs a run out in the park, a little slobbery, loves food!

  1. Name one thing you do aside from music that keeps you sane.

I like to people watch some days, letting the world go by while you sit and take it all in.
