We love it when we get the opportunity to interview someone who is on our dream list of interviewees. This was definitely one of those interviews for us. He is known for his coaching and development of such American players as Jim Courier, Mardy Fish, John Isner, Sam Querrey, Stevie Johnson, Jack Sock and Donald Young, Jr. He may be even better known for the massive beard he sports that makes him so identifiable in courtside player boxes. Take a listen to this entertaining interview about CB's origins, thoughts on player development and his story about the beard! This is easily one of our favorite interviews across the last 4 years. Enjoy...

Will Nadal grab his 14th title at Roland Garros and tie Pete Sampras' grand slam total at that major alone? Listen to the Bruthas as they walk you through both the men's and women's draws and give their very unique predictions on who might still be standing at the end of this red dirt fortnight.

We got a guuuud one for you today fam! As tennis fans, of course we’re enamored with the titans of the sport; the Serenas, the Rogers, the Nadals...etc. However, we also love to follow the up-and-comers, those who aren't necessarily considered “next gen,” but who are coming up through the rankings, and carving out their own spot on the tour.
On this episode, the Bruthas sit down with rising star Rasheeda McAdoo, a former Georgia Tech standout and daughter of basketball Hall of Famer, Bob McAdoo (who is apparently a huge tennis fan! G’day fam! Aren’t yall loving all of this good tennis going on out here? After being deprived of life and sports beginning just about a year ago, it’s so wonderful to be able to watch some good ‘ol uninterrupted tennis that mimics somewhat what we were used to pre-pandemic. We hope things continue to move in the direction in which we’re going, and look forward to the days when the stadiums can be packed again to check out some live matches.
As I digress, please note that digression will be the theme of the next two episodes as the Bruthas try to cover the latest and greatest in the world of tennis, including the 2021 Miami Open draws, but ultimately dive into other interesting topics as spawned by their subscribers on IG Live. They manage to get into the hot 250’s that went down last week, but couldn’t get to the upcoming tourney in Miami. In appropriate fashion, we are celebrating our milestone by celebrating a legend, pioneer, and queen in our sport, Ms. Althea Gibson. The film "Althea" (currently available on Amazon Prime) is a wonderful look at Ms. Gibson's life, and reveals personal triumphs and tragedies that have been rarely revealed to the general public. It's a beautiful, moving film that honestly had the Bruthas in tears by the end. It's a must-watch for any tennis fan.
On this episode, the Bruthas speak with three men who were involved with the film: Mr. Art Carrington, African-American tennis historian and legend, Mr. George Henry, Director of Tennis Operations at Bethune Cookman College, and Mr. Glenn Gilliam, Director of Strategic Partnerships for "Althea." So sit back, relax, and be enlightened on this regal figure in our sport; the incomparable, the revered, Ms. Althea Gibson. (Also, be sure to check out the film!)

Here we are fam! We are about to embark on another Australian Open, and we couldn't be more excited! No one truly knew what was ahead of us after last year's AO, so to say that we're here on the precipice of kicking off another one that's kiiiiind of on schedule, and the majority of the players are going to be "in it to win it," is a small miracle to say the least.
As tradition would have it, the Bruthas have gotten together once again to walk through all of the draws, and give you their picks for the Slam. As evidenced by their fire and spirit, they're going to be super keyed-up for this upcoming fortnight, and we're sure you will be too after giving this chat a listen. Enjoy!

Okay fam, so...we all were missing tennis right? The off-season was long, most of the players hibernated for the early part of winter, and all the courts were recently quiet....
BUT NOW...
There has been an explosion of matches and tournaments that have taken place in this past week, and the Bruthas can barely stay on top of all the haps! There's SO much tennis to talk about as the players tune up for the Australian Open, so the Bruthas chop it up amongst themselves, and even bring in the usual suspects from the Locker Room crew to join in on the fun. Listen in and enjoy!

Whas good family! The Bruthas want to take a second just to THANK YOU for kickin' it with us for as long as you have. We love having y'all along for the ride!
We've got a special treat for you this week! Along life's journey, you meet people who are true inspirations for others. It's almost as if the ups/downs, the wins/losses in their lives are meant to be a living message for us that the fight is not over, and the victory comes to those who work hard, and endure.
The Bruthas were blessed to sit with someone who carries this message on his sleeve, whether he intends to or not. His story of perseverance as an African-American tennis coach striving to breakthrough overseas, and his intense determination on his road to recovery from a massive stroke is enough to cancel all of our trivial, sometimes selfish, day-to-day complaints.

What's good family! Last month we conducted a poll via social media on who should be the Bruthas' next special guest. Out of all the responses we received, one person easily received the majority of votes from the 5 options presented, and that person was Ms. Katrina Adams.
On this week's episode, the Bruthas answer the people's call, and have an enlightening discussion with the 2-time Northwestern University All-American, former 2-time USTA CEO & President, and current ITF Fed Cup Chairperson. She is a literal BOSS in the game and continues to use her influence to champion inclusion and gender equality throughout the sport. Tune in to hear one of our most respected leaders talk about her journey from player to revered executive, as well as gain top-down insights on the state of our game, and where it's going.
Thank you for the suggestion fam, and stay tuned for our next poll! Bruthas on Tennis is ALWAYS for the people!

Good day family. A LOT going on out there nowadays. As three Bruthas trying to provide some sort of entertainment through the sport we love, we'd be remiss if we didn't acknowledge the protests and movement that has impacted the world. We at Bruthas on Tennis denounce all acts of police brutality, injustice, and racism that has transpired not only in our home country (USA), but all over the globe. We stand in solidarity with those in the fight to eradicate racism as well as unjust laws/policing, and hope to build a future built on equality, where diversity is championed, and celebrated. A short list of resources and info shared from impacted tennis players are listed below the show notes.
And now, on to the show...
For some much needed relief, the Bruthas decided to give a lil' shine to two players that may have flown under the radar for the typical tennis fan, but who were most definitely over-achievers in the sport, Ms. Lori McNeil, and Mr. MaliVai Washington. Listen in as the Bruthas educate and legitimately elevate these two players into the tennis stratosphere.

Greetings Family! The Bruthas are coming at you again with another episode of their OFF THE DOME series, a free-flowing stream-of-consciousness on all things tennis. Needless to say, this is another fun one! (*insert DJ Khaled's "ANOTHER ONE" here)
This time, the Bruthas talk about their most annoying pet peeves while on court and playing the game. From taking teammate "coaching" from someone who isn't better than you, to inconsiderate court etiquette, the Bruthas go in on a few violations that grind their gears and get VERY specific with their own personal experiences. Someone caught a ball in the eye at net while playing against the Bruthas? Man...I guess we better stay on the baseline when playing these dudes. The net could be hazardous!
Don't forget folks, the Bruthas will be going live on IG June 3rd at 6pm PST/7pm EST. Tune in, and tell them all about your most annoying pet peeves in the game as well. I'm sure they'll probably have the same passionate disdain for these things as you do, and will lead to a very spirited chat. Look forward to seeing y'all soon!

Fam! We are coming out of this thing slowly, yet surely! Things are starting to open up, and it looks like we WILL be getting back to some full-out tournament tennis soon! You made it this far (congratulations!)...hang in there just a little while longer! We 'gon make it!
Even though tennis isn't quite all the way back yet, the Bruthas will continue to deliver that guuud content, and this one is a guuud one y'all! In this episode, the Bruthas expound on one of their most-liked "hot topics" and discuss their polarizing opinions on some of the popular commentators in the game. This time, they focus their commentary on the Tennis Channel, and the familiar faces we see covering the action. As you'll hear, they clearly dig some of 'um, annnnnnd they clearly don't dig some of 'um. Either way, they provide an especially entertaining take on the professionals that analyze and break down the game we love, and it sounds like they had a great time breaking down the ones that break it down! In the episode, she gives her unflinching account of the game and the players within it, which includes cementing a definitive position on the polarizing G.O.A.T. debate in men's tennis, her humorous take on Naomi Osaka's "unhappiness," and a critical view of Patrick Mouratoglou that CANNOT be missed.
