It's one thing to start a race, it's another to finish. We should purpose to finish whatever God started in us!
This episode reminds us that God has enlisted us for a race and we must run according to the rules!
God created you unique and has equipped you uniquely. Do not compare your capability with another.
God is able to make grace abound for those who have learned to acknowledge him in all circumstances
We can be content in having the Lord as our shepherd knowing that He understands all our needs better than we do
Everything we desire more than we desire God becomes a snare. The Israelites desired meat more than God and it ended up destroying them
Overflow in a believer's life begins when we allow God's glory to be manifest in our situations and circumstances even before our needs are met. Seek the kingdom of God in your current situation
The best form of surrender is when we lay our precious crowns at the feet of Jesus. These crowns could be our achievements, goals, aspirations and our desires
Our call as believers is to love God irrespective no matter what. We love God for who He is and not what He does for us
We must reach that point where we surrender our will to God so as to have his will reign in our lives.
Unless we reach that point where God's will for us is cherished than our greatest desire, then we don't know the power of surrender!
One characteristic of God’s overflow is that it keeps growing and reaches no end. It keeps going from glory to glory
God has promised to do more than the expectation of his children and open doors beyond their imaginations
God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. He does not always use our preferred method. Whatever happens, trust his means and processes
God has outlined in his word many promises of what his children can do to activate overflow in their lives
God promises overflow over everything that concerns the lives of his children not just a part of it
Overflow is part of God's promises. Jesus stated his mission as coming to give humanity life and life in abundance
God can do beyond our wildest expectations. The only thing that can limit what He can do is your faith. Do not limit God
There are only reasons why we should quit praying. Unless those two reasons are satisfied, we should never quit praying
There is a limit as to how much we can do, we can sow and we can water but only God can bring about the growth. Trust him!
To experience God's overflow in the areas we are trusting him for, we must keep Sowing. The only time we should stop is when we get the results we want.
The ability to work on something without giving up until results are realized is crucial. Do your part and you will see God do his part
Only when we fill the jars of our lives with the basics does God turn it to something extraordinary. Do what you are able to and trust God for overflow
God will not do what we can do because we cannot do what God can do. When we ask God for water, He asks us to dig the trenches for the overflow
Quite often, God will demand that we build capacity that will handle the overflowing blessings we anticipate from him.
God does not only meet the needs we trust him to, He does it exceedingly above and beyond!
God does not just meet the needs we consider important or urgent, He meets all our needs whether major or minor.
If we are careful to give our children the best of gifts, How much more will God give us the best if we ask?
Our God is not just a God of enough. He is a God who does immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine
2024 can be one of our best years if we reach out to God by faith and tap from his overflow nature. He is not just a God of enough but He is a God of more than enough
Even before you got to the year 2024, it's encouraging to know that God has everything that you need to be successful and happy this year. Trust him
There are a few principles that can guarantee us success should we follow them as we start in the new year. We should involve God and commit our plans to him, we should take a step of faith, dare the unknown, challenge the status quo and renew our covenant relationship with God.
Our God is a covenant God and when we tie our goals to him, it's possible to look back with satisfaction at what the Lord did for us.
It's not always easy to predict God's working in our lives. That's why we should not be captives of routine. It pays to challenge the status quo and do something new
As we start the new year, the temptation is to get tied to routines where we want to do things the way we've always done them. God is challenging us to try something new if we are to have experiences of overflow
Once you commit your plans to God, then take a step of faith. Start moving in the direction of your dreams and trust God to meet you as you make progress
As you begin in the New Year, begin with God. Only when we commit whatever we do into the hands of God does He establish our plans
Beyond wishing each other a happy new year, what else do you need to do to ensure that you are going to have a great fulfilling year?
As we continue in 2024, God is asking us to wholly trust in him and his intentions and not lean on our own understanding. He means well for us and the only way we can experience overflow is when we trust him
As we get started in 2024, God is more than a Travel Agent who has organised every detail for us this year. Nothing will happen to us that God has not planned for
The greatest confidence we have in setting goals is the knowledge that amidst the uncertainties, our God is Jehovah Shammah, who is already there in that uncertain future
As we commence another year, we can be confident in knowing that God's new mercies overrides our past mistakes and failures giving us a clean slate to start afresh.
Happy New Year 2024 as we combine faith believing God that the Year 2024 will be the year of our overflow. May you find God's overflow in all areas of your life
God gives us strength that matches our days and this enables us face the future with confidence knowing that nothing shall be difficult for us to handle
It is important for God's children to evaluate their walk with God as the year comes to an end. How did God come through for us in the goals and aspirations we trusted him for? Do we have marks of God's faithfulness we can thank him for or are we blinded by the bitterness of what did not happen?
As the year comes to an end, it is important for us to review our progress in the year. It is scriptural to take time and review your accomplishments and what progress you made as this gives you a good foundation for a new year?
God's light entered a dark world during Christmas. Jesus came as the light of the world that we may never have to walk again in darkness
Merry Christmas. Today we celebrate God's greatest gift of love. At Christmas God invited man to eternal fellowship with him in a manner akin to a marriage proposal. Have you said yes?
Merry Christmas 2023. Christmas reminds us of the time God identified himself with humanity. He brought joy to all mankind irrespective of status or class
God created man for fellowship and to walk with man throughout life. Do you have God with you in life?
When men came together to build the Tower of Babel, God came down to see what men were doing. When we involve God in our work, He comes and guides us
Noah is an example of a man who walked with God and was saved from destruction. When Immanuel becomes part of our lives, we don not miss out on his reward
Enoch is a perfect example of a man who walked with God as per God's original design until he was no more. Immanuel's desire is to walk with us and infiltrate every area of our lives
Immanuel means God with us and this is the desire God had from the beginning when He created man and would visit him at the garden of Eden at the cool of day
At Christmas we remember when Jesus was born as a man to help men and when God came to our level because we could not match his level. God created us for fellowship and that is why He came as God with us
As we celebrate Madaraka Day in Kenya today, may we be reminded that true freedom is only possible when we submit our lives to God. Whatever we do outside God's will in the exercise of our freedom will end up hurting us
Wishing all ladies a Happy Mother's Day. You color the world with your love and dedication
Only when our obedient to God is complete are we able to exercise dominion over other issues that bother us
God ties our ability to enjoy long life to our obedience and honor to parents. Where could your elevation be hindered by bad relationship with parents?
God uses our obedience to elevate us. When Jesus exercised obedience and humbled himself to death on the cross, God exalted him giving him a Name that is above every other nams
God is asking us to be faithful servants as we wait for He will come when we least expect
God is asking his children to hold on to faithfulness even when He appears to delay in coming through for them
Whether at home or away, we should never allow love and faithfulness to leave us. Faithfulness will always uplift those who uphold it
Success in the eyes of God has more to do with our obedience than the results. With God, the end does not justify the means
Whatever work we do we should do it faithfully and for God's glory. Our vocation should glorify God as part of his creative order
God has no problem multiplying the little that we give him foe his glory. He always preserves what is entrusted to him
God demands faithfulness on our part as we raise our children for him and for his glory. Does God hold a stake in your parenting?
As faithful children of God, we should not be confirmed to our environment but we should impact our environment with God's truth
God is asking us to be faithful to him because of how far He has brought us even when much remains undone
God is asking his children to remain faithful even in the small things He is doing in their lives
Faithfulness means loving and remaining faithful to God not because of anything He does to us but because of who He is to us
No matter how long we walk with God, we should never forget the depths He removed us from. Forget not his benefits
Faithfulness calls on us to know that only God can satisfy us in this life and we should never exchange his glory for anything else
When God blesses us with resources, we should never forget where He took us from. We should remain faithful through it all
We should not only love God when things are good but even in the face of adversity we should remain faithful to him
God is asking us to trust his intentions even when we cannot understand him. Focus on God without losing peace
God demands us to be faithful to him not only in abundance but also in times of scarcity
Do we have the stay power to hold on to God even when He appears to delay on his promises
Our friends from time to time will get into problems. God expects us to be there for them not only sharing in good times but also difficult ones
What counts to God is not the size of what we are managing but how faithful we are in managing it
God gifts us differently and expects us to be faithful to him in the area of our gifting
Despite the unfaithfulness of his days, Nehemiah purposed to serve God faithfully as a Governor of his people. He remained faithful even with so many chances to compromise
At a time when betrayal is the order of the day, God is calling his chikdren to remain faithful in friendships
While the opinion of others is important, God's opinion should be more important in informing our decisions
God has given us everything we have as stewards and demands we be faithful in managing the same
Mature people appreciates the time it takes to give them firm foundation. They know it takes time to build a foundation which is important for stability in difficulty times
Mature people appreciate God's discipline and consider it crucial for their walk with God
One main difference between children and adults is that children do not have the stay power. Adults to the contrary finish everything they start
Spiritual Maturity embraces life's different seasons and appreciates that every season has a role to play in our growth
It is not all our prayers that God will assent to. When we make childish prayers, God protects us from the results by saying No
It's not all prayers that God answers. Sometimes He leaves pockets of resistance to train us and for our growth
Spiritual Maturity will help us to appreciate the opinion of others and not take the rejection of our opinion personally
It takes spiritual Maturity for us to understand that God uses all occurrences in life whether positive or negative to grow us and all for our good
Spiritual Maturity makes us aware what our inheritance is and moves us to fight and appropriate the same. What rights must you need to stand for
Spiritual Maturity will move us to seek reconciliation with our fellow brothers and sisters when we offend them or they offend us. Offence will come but we do not have to stay with them.
Spiritual Maturity will help us to know that only when we uncover our sins do we get healing and forgiveness. Don't die with your sins, confess and forsake them
As Kenya celebrates its independence day and recognize heroes who have made major contributions, may we never forget that God also celebrates his heroes
Pride comes before a fall. To be spiritually mature we must avoid pride and handle our brothers and sisters with respect to whatever their position. We must crucify our ego and allow God to increase as we decrease
Many times before you get your inheritance, God will mature you up as He prepares you for your blessing. The Israelites had to be circumcised before entering the promised land
Spiritual Maturity may call on us to take deliberate effort and mature up in areas where we are struggling. The scriptures calls this circumcision of hearts
Maturity to God is not complete unless it's the maturity of all. That may well be the reason why the word Saint is never in singular but always in plural
Spiritual Maturity embraces the knowledge that we are still God's work in progress. God is not done with us and He will finish what He started
How often do we give up trusting God just because we cannot understand what He is upto. This message was shared with students of Karai Secondary School on 6th November 2022 during a Sunday service
Just as a farmer will prune a productive tree, believers go through some periods of suffering as God strengthens them for more productivity
There are moments when God will take away some good things that we take for grated so as to redirect us to something better. When something good is taken away from you, God wants you to grow
God's children will often miss God's mark of perfection but just as a parent does not throw away a child who messes God will guide and discipline us towards maturity
Many times God may so no to our prayers and petitions, not to frustrate us but to help us focus on him and grow
It is God's desire that his children grow in him through daily reading of the Scriptures, daily habit of prayer and having supportive friends to guide and help them
As powerful as God is, humility is something He cannot despise. A humble and a contrite heart God never despises and quite often his mercies triumph over his judgement
Jehovah Nissi is our banner of victory and when you get challenges in your life, do not get used to them. God has put ability within you to overcome
God fights better when our situation becomes more complicated. Many may be the afflictions of the righteous but God delivers them from them all
The enemy will designs weapons against us and plan for our destruction but God is committed to fight and protect His children. Don't give into fear at the sight of the weapons
Quite often we fall into the temptation of making things even by taking matters into our own hands. Jehovah Nissi is asking us to leave vengeance to him
God comes through to fight for us when we confess our vulnerability to him. Never shy from telling God your fears and limitations
Our reliance on God should not only be relegated to times when we feel weak and vulnerable. Even in moments when we feel strong and victory appears assured, we must cry to him and involve him in our battles for He is Jehovah Nissi our banner of victory
When faced with conflict, the temptation is for us to count the resources we have available. God is asking us not to count our resources but trust him with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding
While it is human to get afraid when surrounded by the enemy, we should never forget that in the spirit what may appear to surround us is sorrounded by Jehovah Nissi our banner of victory
It is not always that God's battle require experience. He gave the Israelites victory even without military training background. God is an expert on the job training
It is not all battles that we face in life where we are required to fight. Many times God will ask of us to be still and see his salvation
God does not give us victory because we have enough resources, even when we feel outnumbered, Jehovah Nissi will decree victory for you
Many of God's promises are located amidst many problems and challenges that appear like giants. Our focus should be on God's faithfulness and not the intimidation of the giants
The scriptures reminds us that we are the apple of God's eye. If you want to see God's tears, touch any of his children
It's not all battles that we should run away from. There are battles where God would rather we trust him for the strength to fight!
When we take for grated God's presence with us, we risk sabotaging our destiny. The Israelites elevated the giants and walled cities in the promised land beyond Jehovah Nissi in their midst.
Victory in life does not always go to those who are strong or valiant. God gives the chance to all and his children can register victory against all odds
We fall but we don't break, we face challenges but somehow bounce back. When people expect to write us off, we soar on wings like eagles with renewed strength. Beneath us are God's victorious hands to hold us and keep us going
The presence of opposition and conflict is not an invitation for God's chikdren to run away. Like Joshua God has promised no one will be able to withstand us as He will give us victory.
While God has already achieved the victories for us in the different areas of life, we have a responsibility to safeguard those victories.
Nothing can prevent Jehovah Nissi from saving his own whether by few or many. With God little is enough and with him on our side, we are the majority
Jehovah Nissi does not have to use human means to give his children victory. He fights in his own way for his children
The beginning point of victory is the realization that God wired victory into our DNA. We won during conception and we are programmed to win against all odds.
God is the source of our victory in life. We are not victorious because we have what it takes but because God enables us
God will not give up on us just because we have defied him. He is a God of 1st, 2nd and many chances. He is committed to the recovery of his children.
Even thou a Tree is cut, there is hope that at the scent of water, it shall sprout again. God's faithfulness is the water that causes God's children to recover
No matter what depths of challenges we go through, we must always endeavour to keep hope alive. Like Abraham believing against hope, we must be able to believe that the God of the promises will fulfil them
God in his wisdom may relocate his children and cause them to recover far away from toxic environments. The relocations maybe uncomfortable but eventually works for our good
God's people take his presence wherever they go. They defy difficult environments and can always sing the song of Zion in a strange land
God does not necessarily give up on us because we are down and hurting. He is the God of our recovery who ensures that a bruised reed is not broken. So long as there is genuine desire in you to recover, God is committed to your recovery
No matter the challenges that we go through, God is always gracious to give us his peace to see to our recovery. He many not remove the problem but his peace is always evident
There are some problems that we go through that have nothing to do with us. God in many cases is preparing us for something or someone greater
When you reach the end of yourself, tie a knot and hold there. For Simon Peter, he was washing nets to go home after a discouraging night but little did he know that with obedience and God's guiding, recovery was possible.
Every challenge carries with it some hidden opportunities if we are careful to check. Paul discovered this when he wrote letters from prison. What letters may God be asking you to write in your prison even as He causes you to recover.
No matter the depth of the fall, we have a God who quickens the recovery of his children. Nehemiah was able to reconstruct the walls of Jerusalem within 52 days
We must purpose to stand firm amidst challenges and not allow them to break us. We must have the courage and the confidence to bounce back and recover
Recovery is possible when we come into terms with the mess we are in. Only when we confront what we are afraid of does God initiate the healing process
When the situation looks desperate and beyond repair, speak life and God who brings to life what is dead will make your dry bones come back to life
No matter how down you feel, speak the hope of your recovery. Believe it that you will still see the goodness of God in the land of the living
Many are the times God would need us to encourage others when we are discouraged so that we can recover. We should learn to interpret the dreams of others before God can interpret our dreams
We can recover when we know that God is the chief comforter of all those who trust in him. When you don't know what to do, remember the one you know
To recover, we must be willing to listen to God's voice amidst our disappointments. Sometimes God would love us to start small.
Believers don't rejoice because all is well. We rejoice because we have the hope of knowing that all shall end well
Quite often we get knocked down by our mistakes such that recovery appears impossible. God never gives up on us and like Samson, you can reach out to him and ask for a one more time. Our God is a God of many chances
When you are down, don't forget to set us a sign that will remind you of God's faithfulness in the future. Jeremiah was asked to buy a field in the sight of Jerusalem's captivity and Jacob anointed a stone believing God to bring him back home in victory. What sign can you set up today?
God does not write us off just because we fall in sin. He in perfect faithfulness guides us out of the mess and glorifies himself. He did it in the life of David after he sinned with Bathsheba but amidst the judgement, there was grace and mercy.
It's easier to hide our face in prayer in the face of evil. While prayer is necessary, we must purpose to speak out and let our voucea be heard in the face of evil.
God should be Supreme in all our choices and we should enthrone him. Whatever choice we make without involving God will cost us
On matters choice, we should do more than speak and pray. Like Phineas who killed for God's honor, we need to choose godly anger in the face of evil and injustice
We should pick our battles wisely choosing to fight God's battles and not our own. David's life centred around fighting for God's honor and all his battles
Our choice for right or wrong should be informed by our uncompromised love for God. Eli sacrificed God's honour in defence of his children and lost them.
When Abraham felt shortchanged by Lot, he chose the path of peace knowing very well that God will fight for him
Our choices should largely be informed by our faith and not mere sight. Ruth made a choice informed by faith and God rewarded that choice
Our choices must stem from our convictions. Noah made a stand for God and God stood with him in the face of danger
Our choices should be informed by God's known will for us. Isaac honoured God and sowed during a famine and God vindicated him
We become the advise we choose to listen and the counsel that we receive. Rehoboam divided his kingdom when he chose to listen wrong counsel
Our love for God should be unconditional. Shadrack, meshack and Abednego made a choice to love God for whom He is and not what He did for them.
The scriptures reminds us that whatever happens, we need to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ
God always has a remnant that purpose to do what is right in the face of evil at whatever generation
We must make a firm commitment and mark our boundaries. Elijah challenged the Israelites to make a stand and if God is God, serve him and not waver.
On matters choice, we can never be neutral and must avoid sitting on the fence. Jesus is known to spit out the lukewarm
God relates with us the way we relate with him and what we get from God is a reflection of our choices in what we give him. He honours those that honour Him.
Choices have consequences and if we choose to follow worthless idols, we also end up becoming worthless
Choice is a matter of personal responsibility and each of us is accountable for the choices that we make. We cannot blame others for our choices
God has given us the will to choose but advises us to choose blessings which He calls choosing the paths of life.
In making choices, God advises us to pursue the narrow door which contains blessings. Godly choices are not always comfortable but they are worth it
Although God has given us a freewill to choose, we are the products of the choices that we make.
Tithes and offering was God's formula of eradicating societal poverty. He instituted the practice as a safeguard for those in the risk of becoming poor that they may have a way to survive.
Not many areas does God ask us to test him but in the area of giving, God is asking us to try him. When we give, God has committed that it will come back to us.
It's a principle in life that whatever goes around comes around. The good you do has a way of coming back to us and usually in a big measure than we gave it out and not necessarily from those you did it to.
Jesus encouraged his followers to love their enemies and do them well. When we give to our enemies, we open doors that God can use to heal our relationships
Out giving to God should be purely out of love and not manipulation. God loves a cheerful giver and only when the willingness is there is the gift accepted.
Many are the times we are tempted to dismiss people who ask us for help that is beyond us. God is asking us to see it as an opportunity through which we can stretch our faith and trust him.
There are many instances when our resources will appear in adequate compared to the needs that we have. When that happens, God is asking to first give him the little we have and allow him to multiply it
Quite often in life, God will require of us to interpret the dreams of other people if we are to have our dreams interpreted
God advises us to lay our treasures in heaven where moths cannot destroy and thrives cannot steal. When we partner with God in giving, we are investing for eternity
When it comes to giving, we can never out give God. He loved the world and gave his very best.
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to God and God is a debtor to no one.. When you help the poor and needy, you are lending to God and He always pay with good interest
Giving by faith moves God to protect our children when we are incapable. Jonathan's son was taken care of by David because of Jonathan's giving
When you give man who is created in the image of God, you give to God. Cornelius was remembered by God because he touched the poor of his time
Tabitha came back to live because her giving to the poor became a memorial offering that God remembered and honored
God uses our obedience in giving to open doors for us that are long forgotten. Like the Shunammite woman, God is about to revive back our dreams when we give
Each time we identify people with problems that we can encourage, God gives himself to attend to our causes. Like David, the men you are encouraging today may one day become your mighty men
When we hold something more dear than our love for God, it becomes an idol. We must like Jacob learn to let go and let God!
When we risk the little that we have like the widow of Zeraphath, God has no problem multiplying it for our use.
Every moment when God blesses you, He has a bigger purpose beyond yourself. He established David as King for the sake of his people Israel.
A broken and a contrite heart God does not despise. Pour out your precious oil at the feet of Jesus and proclaim him the Lord of your all
Whatever you hold on to dearly than you trust and believe God becomes an idol. Whatever you cannot give for God's service rob you the grace meant for you
God desire is to bless us so that we can be a blessing. God speciality is to bless channels and not containers.
Human nature is to hold but only when we release what we are holding by faith to God does He give it life and serves its purposes in our lives. What are you holding unto?
True Freedom only comes when we release and surrender ourselves to God. We must give ourselves fully to God in order to find ourselves!
There is no return without risk and God desires his children to take a step of faith and give what they have in faith for it shall surely come back to them.
Nothing in life lives for itself . Rivers don't drink their own water and trees don't eat their own fruits. We were all craeted for a cause greater than us.
Our academic certificates, skills and experience should never replace our dependence on God but should rather make us cling all the more to him as we trust his guidance.
God loves it when we give our very best to the work we are doing. We should never work half heartedly or serve with slack hands because God is against slothfulness. It is when we give our 100% that we are able to see God's blessings flow in our lives. Don't just do a task, give it your very best.
All the people that God worked with in the scriptures were busy doing something and indeed excelled in what they were doing. We must take work seriously and seek to excel without having excuses as to why we cannot do something. When we seek excellence in whatever we are doing, God will note our effort and reward us
When we are inspired by something, we won't get bored woking on it. Like Jacob working for seven years because of his love for Rachel, we won't realise how easily time will pass because we re inspired.
Divine corroboration means we do the ordinary in our power and God will do the extraordinary. We must involve God in our works by making sure we pray and after we pray we go and work. God gave Isreal victory when Moses raised his hands in prayer as Joshua fought the battle with the Amalekites.
To register success in life, we must make sure that we pray to God but also do our part by working. When faced with opposition, Nehemiah not only prayed but he also posted guards. We must do what we need to do to promote, protect and excel in our works and businesses by not only praying but also posting.
God has no problem doing the extra ordinary for us so long as we are willing to do the ordinary. Jesus asked the servants to fill the jars with water if they were so much in need of wine. What jar is God asking you to fill today so that He can do the miracle you are asking for
God is faithful to give us the blessings we require to go through life. However, there is need for self improvement if we are to get more. Like the children of Joseph, God is asking us to clear the forests, go to higher heights so as to acquire more land
While God is always faithful to give us our desired promised land, He rarely does the clearing work for us. There are giants to be destroyed and high walls to be demolished and we can only do this co-working with God
We should never cut corners in our quest to get rich. God's blessings start small and grow to great blessings. Lot was tempted by the quick gains of the Jordan Valley near Sodom but ended up leaving the City empty handed. Let God grow you at his pace
The scriptures says that ill gotten wealth vanishes when least expected. While God has promised to bless the work of our hands and help us maintain the blessings He gives us, corruptly obtained gains vanishes and leaves us when we are most in need.
God warned the Israelites against bringing corrupted things into their houses saying that such things should be devoted to destruction. Gains from corruption, theft and extortions are to be avoided otherwise we may be setting ourselves up for destruction
Everything in life starts small and grows with time to some of the greatest things we can imagine. We should not be tempted to despise our mundane occupations because with time God grows them into something big. Whatever little we have, work on it and be diligent for little is much with God
God always ensures that the work of his children is not in vain. The one who blesses the work of our hands is always faithful to ensure we get a good return from our works
God determined that we shall eat bread from the sweat of our brows and every attempt to look for freebies negates this principle. We must know the there is no blessing attached to freebies and work with our hands to be a blessing.
If we are to realise our dreams, we must purpose to wake up. It is not enough to dream or keep talking, we must purpose to get our hands to work to realise our dreams
A godly person does not eat the bread of idleness and knows that God has committed that we shall eat our bread from the sweat of our brow.
We should not just do the bare minimum that is required of us but we must ensure that we add value and like our Heavenly Father do immeasurably more than we are called to do. He is a God who makes our cup to run over and so should we be in our work
Its often said that the grave is one of the richest places where you find the greatest exploits that men never did. Its filled with people who had great dreams and aspirations but never took the first step towards actualising them. We must go beyond talking and planning and doing the actual thing we need to do
According to the scriptures it is wicked to just sit and do nothing. God expects his children to be productive. Left on its own, nature tends towards decay and that is why we should be busy doing something
God has committed to bless the work of our hands. The main way God's blessings flow into our lives is through the work we do and this means we should take our works seriously for work is a blessing.
God has created us unique and different with specific work for each of us. There is none of us who is like the other and our different gifting and talents means there is something for each of us
Contrary to what people may think, work was an integral part of man's Mandate when God created him. God is a worker who created a co-worker and this means work is a blessing
Our scars are beautiful to God and always testify of his love and faithfulness to us. No wonder Jesus rose again with a body with scars so that doubting Thomas's could believe.
God's will for his children is growth and not Comfort and many are the times when such growth comes through hardships and persecution
We may be tempted to label certain individuals as enemies but God rarely fits into such narrations. He can change our enemies to become our greatest blessings and the Saul we are afraid of today may become God's best tool in the expansion of his kingdom
The Lordship of Jesus Christ is exercised even amidst the challenges and problems we go through. When the Lord does not change a difficult situation for you, it's because He plans to arm you with grace and strength to go through it.
Jesus never left his disciples without assuring them that even though He was going to be physically absent, He will still be available for his disciples. We need to face life with confidence knowing that we are not orphans but we have a God who takes care of us.
In embracing the Cross, Jesus scorned its shame because He focused on the glory before him. Quite often God may require of us to overlook the pain of the moment and bear it in anticipation of the glory God has placed ahead of us.
Are there moments you reach a dead end and you have to start all over again? That's what the disciples felt after the death of Jesus when they went back fishing only for Jesus to meet them in their frustration and clarify their mission. Hold on to faith, God is coming your way.
Quite often in life we reach a dead end when our hopes come crashing down. Like the disciples discouraged by the death of Jesus God is asking us to keep hope alive because He is in the business of restoring
Jesus trained his disciples that unless a grain of wheat falls and dies it remains alone. He taught the need for embracing risks in life to grow which He demonstrated by embracing the cross.
Jesus seemed a loser as He hung on the cross. Beaten and battered and could not even save himself. Everybody thought of him as a loser without knowing that He was actually winning. Our disappointments can become the stepping stones of our greatness.
It is possible for us to be so much engrossed by what was that we miss on what is happening. God is asking us to move strong in faith, every disappointment is always an appointment with him. Unless we move with the times, we risk becoming history
Many times we find ourselves waiting for the fulfilment of God's promises unaware what will happen. Like the discouraged disciples not knowing what will become of them after the death of their Master, we can trust God to fulfilling what He has promised.
What do you do when your friends forsake you or quit on you during difficult moments. Jesus faced the cross alone and showed his Lordship by relying on his Father
By washing the feet of his disciples, Jesus exemplified that true Lordship comes through service to all. Who may God be asking you to wash their feet?
Jesus humbled himself and embraced the cross because He knew that God's way of raising us is through Humility. God is an expert of lifting us up when we humble ourselves
Jesus never entered Jerusalem in hiding but rather confronted his enemies openly. You can never win over what you are not willing to confront
Quite often we miss out on opportunities because we have prejudiced minds on how He will visit us. The Jews missed on the Messiah because they coukd not imagine him riding to Jerusalem on a mule.
Palm Sunday reminds us the day Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey to the shouts of, "Hosannah to the King of the Jews". There before He would quite anyone who tried to unveil his identity. It was in humility and meekness exemplified through that donkey ride that Jesus was presented as the Lord of the Jews. In doing this, Jesus taught us that true Lordship is only exercised in humility and meekness.
Man has numerously tried to find his identity from various things that he institutes in his quest to find fulfilment. He installs different things as lords. We have different things that acts as idols and compete with God for lordship over our lives. unfortunately we end filling frustrated and it does not take long before God makes it clear to us that He is the only one and true Lord.
After man lost his lordship following the fall, he started inventing self made ways to recover what he had lost. The first thing our parents did was to sew for themselves fig tree leaves for covering. Every effort we make to try and help ourselves without God is similar to sewing fig tree leaves for a covering. Only in God can man find the true covering and can his lordship be restored
Man's fall at the garden of Eden made him lose his God given dominion. He rebelled against God and as a result creation rebelled against him and made him lose his lordship. Only in God can that lordship be regained
God did not only create man as a subject to be ruled but also gave him dominion over the work of his hands. Man has delegated lordship over creation that he can only exercise in God
God is the source of all lordship having created everything including man and therefore deserves control of his creation work as Lord
It's one thing to have victory but only God can add meaning to the victory. Victory obtained without God will always end up being empty. It's one thing to have life but only God can add meaning to that life.
God always have a remnants who despite being surrounded by compromise will keep their heads lifted high to honor God. These are people who will not be polluted by politics because they recognize God's higher authority.
At a time when people change at will and being right is no longer absolute but relative, God is asking his children to keep to the standard of being true and holy. God will never lower his standard to accommodate us. He who honours those that will keep to his standard during political moments
While politicians may not mind the welfare of the citizens as they advance their agenda, the scriptures reminds us that the Name of the Lord is a strong Tower where the righteous run into and are safe. He is God who protects the trodden grass when two bulls fight
No matter how long it takes, evil will never overcome good. God has marked a line that evil will never cross. Just the way death could not hold Jesus, it it impossible for evil to overcome good. We must be on the side of good even on matters politics
While God may delay before He punishes for evil done, He always repays. His delay aims to give us room to repent but when we fail to recognise his grace and goodness towards us, He acts.
Many of us think of money as limitless but there are blessings that money will never buy. Politics is always associated with money but with God, money reaches a point of limit where only God can save
Many are the times when God will bypass the powerful and mighty choosing to work with the seemingly powerless and ignored. With God, it is never by the mighty or powerful but by his spirit.
God is an expert in defending the weak from those too strong for them. When politicians misuse their offices and exercise injustice and impunity, God knows how to avenge. Kung Saul's descendants had to die because their father made a political decision and killed the Gibeonites for fun.
God is a good and gracious God but He is also just. When we rebel against God's ordinance of justice and fail to honor him, He is known to raise evil that consumes and brings down his adversaries.
While numbers are important in advancing our political causes, nothing prevents God from saving whether with many or few. He accomplishes his purposes with or without numbers. The majority are not always right and with God you will always be the majority.
God is an expert in replacing leaders when they become arrogant or fail to honor him. He raises and also brings down because every leadership position is a delegated position.
God is faithful to reminds us that we always reap what we sow. That is why it is imperative to involve God in our choices. Praying and seeking God's will is crucial because God is not always with the majority. Whatever we sow during times of politics is what we always reap back after politics are over and we go back to our usual businesses. Will you have the confidence to tell God that you sought his will?
Seasons of politics are seasons when people take sides depending with the candidate they are supporting. Unfortunately, God be relegated on the sidelines as the followers become blind to the shortcomings of their candidate. We start speaking ill of others as we advance our political cause, we become tribal and racial as we build camps of them versus us. That is the time God desires his children stand in the gap and stand for him. Will you be God's voice amidst the chaos of our politics?
People get into politics for self preservation. They want to advance their personal interests as well as the interests of their people. Believers should know that beyond politics, God knows how to take care of his own. He knows how to preserve the godly in the hour of trial and when the day of evil knocks, his Name is a strong Tower that provides refuge.
God is the Rock of ages who has been trusted for many generations and have never let his people down. Unlike politicians who can promise many things and not deliver, God can be relied upon. Don't put your hope on mortals, trust God and He will never let you down. Cursed is the one who trusts in man.
There are the times when God works with enemies to accomplish his purposes in the lives of his Children. God does not give us what we want but He gives us what we need.
The success of God's people is determined by God himself and not the leadership of the day. Daniel and his colleagues survived Babylon far away from home and a cruel dictator because God was with them. Don't put your hope on any political figure.
God's working in our lives is not limited to using people that we think can help us. God is an expert in using enemies to accomplish his plan and purpose in the lives of his children. Your candidate does not have to win for God to prosper you. He does it irrespective
Believers choices mad decisions must be anchored in prayers and this is also true on matters politics. When we make decisions without consulting God, it's tantamount to rejecting God
When we substitute God with our politicians, we may find ourselves harassed by them and God may overlook. Not because He doesn't love us but because there is a curse when we trust men.
God has given us life and a very important gift. No matter what you are going through, take time to thank God and celebrate him especially on your birthday
People form alliances in matters politics and business. Believers often find themselves part of these alliances. God values when people come together but believers ought to be guided by godly ideals. Do not join a political grouping whose values and ideals are opposed to God's word. We must seek to honour God in whatever alliances we form
Many are the times we are tempted to think that God has preference for any political candidate. God does not show favouritism on matters politics. All leaders good or bad are puppets that God can use to fulfilling his purpose. Our responsibility is to stand for a godly cause in whoever we wish to support but allow God to have his way.
God created man to exercise dominion over the rest of creation. We lost the dominion to Satan during the fall of man but Jesus coming reclaimed it back for us. One way we can influence our politics for God is through the love of Christ that enables us to treat all with love irrespective of their political inclinations
What role should believers play when it comes to politics? The beginning point is knowing that having submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, all our other choices should always be subject to him. Whatever choice we make, we should make sure we have God as our fallback and our guiding principle should always be, "not my will but let God's will be done".
Quite often God starts with us in the neighbourhood where He has placed us. To know God's will regarding the doors that He is opening, we must be willing to embrace his will in placing us where we are currently.
God will never place us far away from the doors that He has designed for us. It human to seek open doors far away but God opens door many times in our neighborhood.
Many are the times we pray unaware that God as already answered. We keep knocking on doors unaware that God has already gone ahead of us to open. Some doors just require practical pushing for them to open. We should pray but keep our expectations alive as we check what God is up to.
God rarely announces when He is about to open doors. We only realize albeit too late that He was in our midst when it is already done. May we have hearts that are expectant to meet God in everything situation we get ourselves involved.
Many times God will ask of us to do the ordinary in our power so that He can do the extraordinary. As we wait on God to act on our behalf, He can do it indirectly by bringing opportunities that need our attention so that He can unlock our doors.
Many doors open when we collaborate with God. He will never do what we can do since we cannot do what He can do. To turn your water into wine, He is asking to do your part and fill the jars with water.
It is human nature to expect God in the big things of life. We expect his visitations in the earthquakes, the hurricanes and the fires of life. We must train ourselves to hear God's voice in the routines of life and the whispers of the moment. Where are you missing God opening doors for you in the routines of life because your eyes are fixated on the big things?
Even as we trust God to open doors for us, we must maintain a desire to see him in our daily routines. Like Zacchaeus the tax collector God will always honor an honest desire to see him.
To open doors in our lives, God may not need to remove us from when we are or change our routines. He meets with us in our routines as He did David while shepherding the sheep!
God has put within us potential that we are not aware of. He may bring about circumstances in our daily routines which He can use to open up the doors of potential within us.
God will rarely announce when He is coming to open doors for us. We must always have an expectant heart as we carry out our daily routines.
Love which is the greatest force in the universe has been used by God to open doors for his children or shut doors. Conmit your love relationship to God and seek to honor him.
Believers are never moved whether a door is closed or open. They know God's faithfulness is always intact. The secret is for us to follow God wherever He leads and move with the cloud of his guiding presence. An open door or a closed one, God is eternally faithful.
No matter how difficult our situation, we should always keep hope alive. God can sometimes open closed doors at the tail end of our waiting. It is never over until God says it's over.
There are instances in life when the door is closed because of our disobedience. Those are the moments we suffer because of our disobedience. The secret we must remember during those difficult times is that God is not only a God of first chance but a God of many chances. We can never exhaust the reservoirs of his grace.
There are instances where God will close doors for us even with the best laid out plans and strategies. God may block your preferred bath to one where you are likely to be more productive. That is what He did to the Apostle Paul
Quite often as we seek and trust God to open doors for us, He can give us something that appears less attractive. The one who sees the end from the beginning knows that the less attractive will serve us better in the long run. Trust him!
God may not necessarily tell you that He has closed a given door but when the attitude changes, it's time you listen. When you start seeing contempt in an environment you were once celebrated, it's time to move.
There are instances when God will close our door on what may appear authentic and well intended requests. The secret is knowing that if God blocks a door that appears promising, it's because He has something far much better. Our responsibility rests on trusting him and his intentions. He said No to David's request for a temple because He had in mind something far more better!
We have instances where God will close doors on us even when we have invested substantial resources or time on a project. The temptation is for us to continue despite the time we've put into it. The secret is learning to let go and letting God. Trusting God even in the face of losses is not easy but it pays.
God locked Noah and the animals inside the ark to save them from the flood. There was no telling for how long they would remain there but the scriptures reminds us that He remembered them and opened for them. Whatever situation you are locked in today, God is faithful to get you out.
There are instances when God will block our path to direct us. Those are moments when our always faithful donkeys will refuse to move as happened during the days of Balaam. Instead of beating your donkey, ask God to open your eyes and see where He is directing you.
There are moments when God closes a door because our current environment has become toxic so that He can relocate us elsewhere for growth. That is how He relocated Jacob to Egypt.
God is not only an expert in opening doors. He is also a God who closes doors. When you pursue something without success, consider that God in his wisdom might have closed that door.
God is willing to open new doors for us so long as we are willing to let go of old doors that we are clinging to. What is God asking you to let go off so that you can trust him?
Many times it requires of us to take a step of faith and confront our fears for our doors to open. Don't just pray, make a move and confront the very things you are afraid of
God opens our doors using the gifts, talents and resources that He has given us. He rarely uses things that are far from us. Many of the encounters in the scriptures were met with the question "What do you have?" That is the same question God is asking you today
Many are the times when God will give you a specific burden towards something. That burden may not be common to others. God is more likely to open doors for you if you focus more on the area of your burden. What is God burdening you about ?
Many of the doors that God opens for us are not always far away but in many cases are always close to us. We need to pray that God opens our eyes and helps us recognize opportunities in our neighborhood
Even as we trust God to open doors for us, we should never give up Praying and calling on him. He has promised to answer when we ask, find when we seek and have doors opened when we knock. He did it for Jabez and can do it foe you!
Quite often we give in to peer pressure and follow what everyone else is doing. God is encouraging us to trust him. It's not always we have to follow people to Egypt when there is famine. Sometime we need to plant amidst the drought and see God open doors of prosperity for us!
Quite often we may be so much fixated in our plans until God in his sovereignty disrupts them to lead us to our doors. Saul was so fixated on the lost donkeys not to know the search would lead him to Samuel who would anoint him King!
God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. As we trust God to open doors for us this year, some of the ways He will do this is through the information that He will cause us to hear.
It is not only that God blesses us or open doors for us when circumstances are good. He even does it in enemy territories. Daniel and his four friends thrived in enemy land because God defies the environment to open doors for his children irrespective
God moves in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. It is not always that his visits are direct. He may just give you small ordinary openings which if you take care of them can open great doors.
Many are the times we get busy seeking connection from the who is who. We spend most of our time looking for people who we think can change our fortunes forgetting that God does not necessarily use the people we think. Don't look for a connection to help you, seek the God of the connection.
Many times when we are waiting on God, He gives us signals concerning the things we are trusting him for. It is therefore important for us to have expectant hearts that will note the signals He gives us on his visitations. We should take care not to call those signals coincidences.
The enemy is an expert in creating negative emotions and situations that would make us doubt God's promise of opening doors for us. Negative situations will leave you asking, "Did God really mean it?". We must hold fast the confession of our faith believing God's ability to open those doors that He has assured us to open. Do not allow doubt to rob you of your prize
God's mercies are new towards us every morning. This means we can approach God with confidence irrespective of our past mistakes or past victories because He rejoices is showing new mercies to his chikdren. There are new mercies to open doors for us
God's visitation in our lives may not all happen together and may not come with magnificent displays. He opens doors progressively one at a time. When we take care of the small opening, we shall see his hand open the big doors!
The Genesis of much of life is darkness, disorder and chaos. God graciously intervenes and brings his order out of our disorders. He who opened the door of light out of darkness is still creating order and opening doors out of the chaos in our lives.
The scriptures reminds us that it is God who goes ahead of us searching out places. He searches for us doors that we can use in our journey.
Our God can life out of nothingness. He does not need something to improve on when it comes to opening doors in our lives.
The door of hope must always remain open. This is because we cannot time God but should always have positive expectations that He will come through for us when we least expect. Never give up hoping on God
The awareness of another player in life beyond our input is important in helping us maintain perspective. We are not the only players in life and we have a Heavenly Father whose invisible hands opens doors of life for us.
God had promised to meet all our needs according to his glorious riches in Christ. He is the God who not only gives the vision but one who also provides provisions. Which doors of provision are you trusting him to open this year?
It's possible to give up when you are in a hopeless situation. God calls the things that are not as thou they are. He gave the Jews a vision of restoration even in their captivity. Have hope in him!
The Lord is always with us in our going out and in our coming in. Jesus called himself the gate of the sheep by which we enter and go out and find pasture. What doors are you trusting God to open for you in 2022?
Happy New Year! As we usher in the year 2022, we believe it's an year that God will open doors for us and avail to us opportunities to grow and experience him.
As the curtains close for the year 2021, whatever our experiences, we should always be reminded that nothings lasts forever. We can however take comfort in knowing that our God remains the same and never changes and so we can depend on him in the coming year!
Remembering what God has done for you in the past and the victories He has given you is the best way to prepare for future victories. He who did it then will do it again now and in the future!
A man can plan but the attainment of the goals is dependent on God. Whereas we should plan the best that we can, we should allow room for divine disruptions!
As we review and reflect on the year 2021, it's possible to get overwhelmed by the goals we did not achieve. Appreciating that we only did what God enabled us to achieve can be our beginning point of saying, it was good!
The end of an year presents an opportunity to look back and see how God's faithfulness journeyed with us. It's time to assess what worked and what did not work as the year 2021 comes to an end.
As we open the Christmas gifts we got on Boxing Day, may it remind us of a grand Boxing Day that is coming when God will open the secrets of our hearts. On that day when God rewards each man based on what they have done, what will you receive?
At Christmas we remember one born with the government on his shoulders. He was born to restore the dominion we lost in Eden. Where is God asking you to exercise dominion today?
Christmas reminds us of Maggi from the East who followed a star to where Jesus was born. At some point they detoured to Herod's palace bringing death in Bethlehem. Let's follow our stars no matter where they lead!
Christmas reminds us of a time when God remembered those who appeared forgotten. Like Bethlehem, may God remember you tjis season
It's in our human nature to judge things based on our senses. We expect things to follow a predictable flow. Christmas reminds us that beyond the natural, there is the supernatural. It's not every miracle that can be explained using human terms.
Many are the times we look for God in the palaces forgetting that quite often He prefers the mangers of our lives. You may miss him in Herod's palace but you'll surely find him in a Bethlehem manger!
Christmas is described as a season of peace and goodwill to all men. God decides to do good, not because we are good but for goods sake. Who can you extend goodwill to this season as you remember God's goodwill towards you?
The greatest thing that happened over Christmas is when God came to our level when we could not get to his level. God wore our shoes and shared in our experiences. We can trust him with everything that comes our way in life
Christmas reminds us of how God reached out to us even while we were still sinners. He extended a bridge of mercy and forgiveness reconciliation us to himself. Who may God be asking you to make peace with this Christmas?
At Christmas, God remembered both the young and the forgotten. Before He visited young Mary in Nazareth, he passed by an old couple; Zechariah and Elizabeth whose dream appeared buried and forgotten. God is not a respecter of persons and can change your life at any age!
In a world that is filled with so many bad news, Christmas reminds us that God is the source of good news. The Angel told the shepherds that he brings them good news of great joy to all the earth. God has some good news in your situation today!
One truth that we celebrate every Christmas is the realization that Jesus came to give us our true freedom. God never created man to be independent and we realize our true freedom when we submit our lives to Christ. When we want to take control of our lives, we lose it but when we lose our lives in Christ, we find our freedom!
Nations remember their heroes who waged war to fight for their freedom. At Christmas, we celebrate Jesus Christ who is our Freedom Fighter who delivered us from the power of sin and death!
A Generous Heart will always think about others who are less fortunate during the hard seasons of life. It will always feel dissatisfied to eat alone.
The actions of generosity we take today have the potential to influence the future of our children. Jonathan was kind and generous to David and in doing this planted a seed from which his son Mephiboseth ate the fruits!
There is something about children that touches our hearts. That is the very thing that saw Jesus tell his disciples to allow little children to come to him. When we touch children with our generosity, it comes back to us. Whosoever touches a child builds a bridge that shall come in handy some day to come.
Helping out and been generous to the needy may appear like casting away something precious. What we need to be assured of however is that generosity is an act of faith expressed to God and He always repays. Cast your bread upon the water for after many days you shall find it.
Fasting is part of a believers life where we take time to humble ourselves by missing meal and pleasure for a while to entreat God into our situations. Fasting is biblical and a good discipline but God also advises believers others way we can witness his interventions in our lives. One of such ways is through a generous heart where we partner with God in helping the poor and the needy who comes our ways. God called such true fasting and promises breakthrough in our prayer life. Where is God inviting you today to touch a life through a generous heart?
At a time when the drive for many is to focus on self and turn a blind eye to the suffering of many out there, God is still looking for people that can partner with him in alleviating human suffering. The scriptures reminds us that whosoever gives to the poor lends to the Lord and God always repay. God is asking us to go beyond thinking about ourselves and reaching out to others. Will you mind to lend to God?
Our generous acts as a memorial before God that causes him to remember us as He remembered Cornelius, a gentile Centurion. What generous acts can make God remember you?
Many times we use the excuse of meagre resources as a justification for not been generous. This excuse denies the fact that, whatever we have whether little or much comes from God and He expects us to be faithful with it. Jesus said that whosoever is faithful with little shall be faithful with much. God sent Elijah to a widow in Zeraphath who was about to eat her last meal. He did not send the prophet to those who had plenty. How can you honour God by being generous from your little today?
God's blessings are never direct but they are never missed by those who have trained their hearts to be generous. Lot did not allow two strangers to bypass his in Sodom. By opening his home for these strangers, he ended up saving his life and that of his family because the so seemingly strangers were Angels on a mission to save Sodom.
It is possible to do good and forget it. What we should however remember is that the good we do goes into an account with God that is never forgotten. The generosity we extend out there has a way of always coming back to us when we least expect. That is what happened to Tabitha a generous lady who touched many poor people and widows in Joppa. When she died, the lives she touched not only cried and prayed for her but also sent for Simon Peter who was used by God to restore her back to life. Whose life have you touched and they would pray for you when you get into problems? Your generosity will one day come knocking on your door and when you least expect it.
At a time when the considerations of many is what is in it for them, God exhorts believers to do good for the sake of doing good. Fellow humans may not appreciate the good you do but it never escapes God's attention. The Shunnamite Woman helped Elisha without expecting anything in return but her generous heart never escaped God's attention.
Generosity is a virtue that is encouraged in the word of God. It is the attribute of treating others with kindness and being generous and includes sharing our resources with them. We are living at a time when people have been taken advantage of and the virtue of generosity is slowly eroding. One cannot avoid feeling conned when they stretch forth their hand to support a given cause and some have been misused in trying to help others. What should be a believers response? Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
Many times when we attempt to test God, we find ourselves getting tested instead. God relational desire with us is that we be able to trust him to act for our good in whatever circumstances we are in. We should trust him as a Shepherd. When Gideon decided to test God using a fleece, he was not prepared when the test rebounded back to him and he had to face an army of thousands with only 300 men. Jepththah an Israeli judge did also not expect that it is his daughter who will meet him when he came back with victory that he was not sure about. May our prayer always be, let you will be done on earth as it is in heaven!
Giving to God and for godly causes is a topic that has attracted mixed opinions over the years. Whereas there should be no debate as to whether we should support the activities of the local church or the Ministers of the gospel, giving to God should never be appear like we are trading with him. Tithes and offering were crucial in supporting godly work in the old testament and are still crucial today. The only difference is that believers in Christ are called to give from cheerful hearts. Whereas God will reward our faithfulness in giving, we should also recognise the many ways God has blessed us with blessings that money cannot buy rather than take offence when God does not come through for us as we anticipate.
Quite often, God will give his children accompanying signs demonstrating his presence together with them. That is what He did to Moses so that the Children of Israel as well as Pharaoh may know that Moses was sent by God and not acting on his own. The signs must however not be self serving or for self glorification but for God's honour. We must also not look for them because as Jesus said, signs and wonders follow those who believe.
There are instances in our lives where God's will may not be so explicit and we want to take a step. There is nothing wrong with asking God for as sign in such instances. The sign however should not be self serving but one that is meant to guide you in the best way you can bring God glory. It should also be certain even in such circumstances that whatever has happened was only possible through God.
Quite often evil times will knock on our doors and God is always on standby to help his children. We however have a responsibility and a role to play. Do not sit back in the face of danger. If you can run, run and if you can hide, hide. Moses parents are commended as examples of faith because they hid baby Moses in the face of danger. Do not be presumptuous in times of evil, do your part and God will help you.
God knows how vulnerable mankind is when it comes to temptations. That is why Jesus taught believers to pray God not to lead them into temptations. It's true we get tempted, but God is faithful and would not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. The scenario however changes when we get ourselves into temptations. We test God when we deliberately and consciously get ourselves into avenues where we are likely to be tempted. We shall fail and this is because we have tested the Lord our God.
God has no problem revealing himself to us and using us for his glory. The tragedy is when we get used to God and start taking him for granted. Those are the times we cross his boundaries through sin and are insensitive to the leading of his Holy Spirit. When we expect God to use us in our rebellion and outside his permissive will, that is testing him. Let us walk humbly with God and honorary him in all our ways
One way that we fall into the temptation of testing God is when we fail to believe him in our difficult moments. The Israelites complained every time they encountered hardships on their journey to the promised land and this God called testing him. They had seen God's intervention in the past and they had no reason not to trust him when facing future challenges. Do you test God as well unable to believe that if He did it for you then, He can do it again today?
God created us original with a specific mission to accomplish within a given time. We test God when we take his gifting for granted and start comparing ourselves with others. God will always provide grace for the mission or burden He has given us in life but when we copy that which belongs to another, we invite disaster upon ourselves.
We have a tendency to run to God when things get elephant. Only when we are making what we consider big decisions do we pray or ask others to pray with us. God is challenging us to involve him in all facets of our lives. He must be God of the small and the big and we put God to the test when we only run to him with what we consider big problems. We must ensure that God is the Lord of all whether small or great!
How often do we start projects that God is not involved. We start businesses or relationships that we have not prayed over and only call on Go to help us when problems knock on our doors. God has no problem guiding those who are walking in his will but when we get into things outside God's will for us, that is akin to testing God.
The scriptures admonish believers never to test God. Testing God means doing something outside of his expressed will and then expecting him to sign on our dotted line. God is supposed to be the Alpha and Omega of all that we do and if we cannot have him in the roots, we should never expect to see his signature in the fruits. God is not a means to an end but rather the end himself. Where are you tempted to test God today?
Satan's strategy is to make sure we doubt God word concerning us. If he can make us to doubt God's promises, then He knows we are defeated. No matter how long it takes, hold on to God's promise concerning you.
Everything we have is a gift from our Heavenly Father. We should never elevate the gift above God who has given us. When the Israelites doubted God's ability to protect their children in the promised land, they lost the opportunity even as God promised to bring their children to that land.
It is possible for us to get used to our problems and pains. The tragedy is where we get to think that God cannot reverse our hopeless circumstances. That is what happened to Zecharia the father of John the Baptist. He got used to the pain of childlessness that he could not imagine God could intervene. When the Angel told him that he would be a father, he doubted and as a result lost his voice. He could not be part of the celebration a the wife Elizabeth went through the emotions. Do not doubt God otherwise you may lose your voice in celebrating when God does it.
Quite often in life, we come very close to our dreams to an extent of almost seeing them, but then out of nowhere they vanish away. Situations that appear like bad dreams when our situations are about to change but something happens and the ray of hope is extinguished. That is what happens when we doubt God's promises or power over our lives. A servant of the King of Israel doubted prophet Elisha when he prophesied the end of a devastating famine in Israel. He attracted a curse and was told he will see it happen but won't eat. He died when he was supervising other people gathering to eat but never got to eat. Do not feast with your eyes. Have faith in God
There are situations that we go through in life such that we would be tempted to say 'never', if God was to tell us that the same can change. God is known to call the things that are not as though they are. When it became impossible for Ezekiel to conceive in his mind how dry bones could come back to life, He surrendered to God's Sovereignty by saying, 'Only you knows Sovereign God"!. Never say never, our God knows
The human nature craves for comfort and security. Life is always enjoyable inside our boats where we feel secure. Wait until the storms of life beats on our boat in form of sicknesses and disease, unemployment, death of a loved one etc. We get afraid and fail to see Jesus inviting us to walk with him on the very waters we are afraid of. Our God is not more of a God in our comfort than He is in the stormy sea. Don't doubt the God who walks on water. Join him and do not doubt that his presence is with you
The scriptures makes it clear that bad company corrupts good morals. For us to avoid doubting and cultivate faith in our walk with God, we may keep a company of believers. Jesus cast doubters out of the house of Jairus and only went there in the company of those who believed in what He believed. What company do you keep?
God always finishes what He starts. Although it may delay or face storms in between, He will surely finish it. God has not promised a smooth calm journey. What He has has promised is that even with the storms, He will make sure we dock safely home!
Many are the times we try to hide our emotions of pain or doubt when speaking to God in prayer. We often forget that it is God who gave us those emotions and is able to handle even the worst of our emotions. When the disciples faced danger at sea and their master was sound asleep, they told him as they felt it; don't you care that we are perishing! Guess what. He stopped the storm.
We should never confuse God's processes with inaction. God always finishes what He starts no matter how long it takes. Seeds take time to grow and when God gives you a word, do not doubt it. At the fullness of his time, God will surely do it
In our battle with doubt, when it reaches a point where believing appears impossible, the best way to handle it is surrendering it to Jesus. When a man who went to Jesus was unable to believe for the healing of his son, He cried to the Lord to help him in his unbelief. Do you know what happened? Jesus helped him and healed the boy. Surrender your doubting to God
Is it possible to have complete faith in God without doubting? Doubting is part and parcel of our fallen nature. God has however provided a mechanism of handling our doubt which involves total surrender to him as well as confessing our doubts to him. Don't mind doubting, just hand it over to God
A child of God does not enjoy the journey of faith because there are no problems but because of the assurance that even in the midst of those problems, God is always together with us. Whatever the pace in your walk with God as He guides you step by step, let his comforting presence be your greatest source of assurance.
God's faithfulness is a central theme that runs across the pages of the scriptures. His ability to provide for the needs of his children can never be questioned. It may never happen immediately but God does it through daily leads and guides which He does step my step. We must nevertheless walk on obedience towards the mountain or the vision He has called us into. He will surely provide, but in his mountain!
No matter what we desire in this life, nothing should equate to having a strong desire to honour God whatever it takes. As God guides us into our dreams step by step, the final destination should never mean more than the Lord who is walking with us step by step. We must count everything else as nothing until we finalise the mission that God has given us
One way that God speaks to us is through the environment where He has placed us. God did not only purposely create us but He places us at the very place where He knows our potential can be fully maximised at the different seasons of life. What is God saying to you considering the environment that you are in today?
When God called Abraham, He did not give him specifics but with kept revealing his purpose with every step of obedience that Abraham took. God did not give him a blue print, He was to journey into the unknown with him. The fact that everything does not seem clear may just be what you need to know God is guiding you step by step.
Walking with God many times is similar to driving at night. You cannot see the entire journey but the headlights are enough to guide you through the section that you can see. God guides his children step by step and instead of fearing and wondering what is ahead, trust God where you are currently
The workings of God in our lives starts like a small mustard seed. Its negligible and can be assumed but with care and good attention, it grows to become one of the greatest things. We must take care of our small things and tend them with care and prayer and there is no telling how far God will take us.
Most of the concerns that disturb our lives denying us peace have little to do with the need for the moment. Our main battles is with the fear about tomorrow and the pains of yesterday. God may not give us everything we need for He is more concerned about our relationship with him rather than making us comfortable.
Everything in life starts small and grows progressively with time. We should never despise the days of small beginnings because our God is able to turn our fortunes and bring about a remarkable ending. Don't mind your step at the moment, its the accumulation of our small steps of faith each day that will ultimately usher in the victory.
While God may not show us the bigger picture, He will surely reveal himself to us after we take the first step of obedience. Your walls of Jericho may not come tumbling down suddenly and there may be no cracks even on the 6th day. God is however committed that when our obedient is complete and we get to the seventh day, victory will be sure!
As the world recognises its own through elaborate celebrations held during during special awards of national holidays, it is possible for believers to feel left out. Who will ever recognise their many sacrifices which are done in secret in line with the biblical spirit? Does it really pay to honour and serve God? Is there more to God's rewards beyond the sweet bye and bye which is the blessed hope we wait for? God celebrates his heroes and is not unjust to forget our labour of love in him.
As God guides us step by step, He does not eliminate our enemies with one blow. He does it little by little. That is how He did it for the Israelites so that He could train them for war. Whatever issue you are trusting God for, accept his guidance and lead, step by step!
A walk with God many times is a like a peep through the key hole. You will only be able to see a part but now the big picture. God guides his faithful progressively and don't not reveal; everything they need to know about the journey.
One of the greatest benefits of forgiveness is restored relationships. Jesus said that he who is forgiven much loves much. Some of the greatest relationships are not from people who have not hurt each other but rather those who have hurt one another and by the grace of God extended forgiveness to each other. There is a bond that develops with genuine forgiveness and respect that ensures the parties do not go the route of hurting one another again. Embrace the power of forgiveness today
There are people who are naturally difficult and no matter how many times you apologise and ask for forgiveness, they will not forgive you? We also have people who no matter how much you try to show them their mistake, they will not apologise nor seek for forgiveness. How do you deal with such? The scriptures advises us that so far as it depends on us, we leave peacefully with all people. Am much as we have done what is practically possible, we cannot be held back by the complication of others. Forgiveness is a delegated responsibility and so far as we make peace with God and attempt to reach out to others, we should be free.
How often do we wish God can punish certain people? These may include bad politicians or even criminals who hurt many and are known for their cruelty or impunity. Beware, because quite often God may send you to them for their salvation. Jonah never expected God to show mercy to the Ninevites but God ended up sending him to them with a message of repentance. There is a God who does not give up on persecuting Saul's because He has a mission for them.
Do we gather with God or do we scatter? Jesus made clear that his mission in coming was to seek and save the lost. At any given time in our circles, God will ensure we come across people who may appear irredeemable. It is easier for us to write off such people but God is still asking us to gather with him. We have no right to write anyone off because God's grace can flow to the worst of sinners even those we have given up on.
It is very easy for us to be consumed by the failures or weaknesses of others that we become blind to our own mistakes. As recipients of mercy, we must be in the forefront of showing mercy to others and not condemning them and judging them harshly. Where could God be asking you to work on your weaknesses before you correct others. We are called to correct others and restore them in love but not hold a standard for them that is beyond us. Show mercy and you shall receive mercy!
By washing the feet of his disciples, Jesus taught us two important principles. Believers will often be required to submit themselves in service to others including those who have hurt them. Jesus knew Judas would betray him but still washed his feet. Is there a perceived enemy you can win today by washing their feet in service and humility. Jesus also taught us on the need for daily confession. Although our whole body is clean, we need to maintain a daily habit of washing our feet and making peace with God by confessing our sins and making our hearts right with him.
Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. Only be extending mercies to those who wrong us can we position ourselves to receive the same. When you extend mercy, you open an account that you shall need to draw from some days to come
It is one thing for us to forgive but we must purpose to forgive from the heart. That is the only way we are able to let go and let God and we shall not find ourselves bringing up past issues because we forgave from the heart.
Peace talks begin when warring parties are willing to sit down in a negotiating table and make amends. God is inviting us as his his children to come to him and reason together. Our healing begins when we reach out to God and make peace with him.
Did you know that God has the capacity to forget? I don't mean forgetting you or the problems you are going through. When we sin against God, He not only forgives but also chooses of his own to forget.
It is not always easy to forgive leave alone to forget. It is God who moves hearts and heals impaired human relationships. It was not humanly possible for Esau to forgive Jacob who stole his birthright but God moved Esau's heart towards forgiving his brother instead of seeking for revenge.
Failure is a sure route towards success. When we fail we should not break like a stone and give up. We should purpose like a ball to bounce back
God warned the Israelites through Moses that their sins will catch up with them. The only solution he gave them for dealing with sin is to repent it and turn away from it. What could you be doing today that will haunt you in the coming days?
Sin committed in the past has a way of haunting us into the future. This is especially so if the sin involved hurting other people. When we confess the sin to God, He forgives but many times would also ask us to retrace our steps and make good with the people we have wronged. God is willing to give you a fresh start but you may need to reconcile with your past
Sin has serious consequences and guilt and remorse can be overwhelming. God is the only solution for sin and instead of getting hard on ourselves, let us run to God who is able to forgive and grant us a fresh start. When a child messes, it may be free knowing the Mom has already sorted the mess.
God is not just a God of second chances but also of a 100 chances. He always forgives when we go back to him in repentance. Don't write yourself off just because you have failed again and again
God gives us simple solutions to sort our complicated problems. Just like the Israelites were instructed to look at the brazen serpent and obtain forgiveness, the simple solution for sin is just confessing to obtain forgiveness
