The weeks episode kicks off with the dynamic duo of Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod, who immediately dive into a light-hearted banter about not being Irish, a humorous nod to a previous episode’s feedback. However, the levity soon shifts as they segue into discussing contemporary events, such as the war in Ukraine and a peculiar terrorist attack in Moscow, sparking a debate over its authenticity and implications. This discussion cleverly parallels the intricacies and deceptions often found in historical wars, setting the stage for their main topic.
The core of the episode explores the Trojan War, not just as the mythologized battle over Helen of Troy but as a significant event influenced by economic and political factors. Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod unpack the war’s underlying causes, including the struggle for resources and the power of propaganda, drawing parallels to modern conflicts. Their conversation illuminates how historical narratives are shaped by more than just the dramatic episodes we often remember, such as the infamous wooden horse.
What makes this episode particularly engaging is the hosts’ ability to link these ancient themes to contemporary issues, such as the manipulation of narratives in the media and politics. They discuss how, much like the ancient Greeks and Trojans, modern societies are still swayed by tales that stir emotion and nationalistic fervor, often overshadowing the more complex realities behind conflicts.

The good news is that Apple Podcasts has started creating great transcripts of the show. The bad news, nobody can figure out how to use them. Meanwhile, Rabbi Dave is getting… well… anxious abut the upcoming replacement knee replacement. He has a odd heart beat that has caused problems in the past, and still has to clear that hurdle to get on to Knee Surgery VII.
The President’s state of the Union has left a lot of people rather confused. Including the New York Times, while Robert Di Niro and Bill Maher – who is NOT a conservative no matter what he says – think that a Trump Presidency would mean that they will be disappeared.
Classic films are now becoming reality; a Korean Pop star is in deep trouble and Dave got distracted by an article about how to suck up to your boss without seemingly like you are sucking up to your boss…
Friar Rod saw Dune 2 – in the Imax – while Dave has not. That doesn’t stop them from discussing the film and wandering through the desert to get to other films that should not have been trilogies.
All that and more this week on What The Frock!
More and more, people are NOT happy. The reasons for this are as varied as there are international conglomerates willing to fund scientific studies that prove whatever their particular scientific viewpoint may be. But it also turns out that for all of these things that are making us unhappy, there are also things that could provide solutions to all this unhappiness.
Among these things could be less choices, less money, less day dreaming, less work, more sibling interactions and moving to a lower altitude. Oh… and an OnlyFans account…
Meanwhile there is a lot of good coffee out there that isn’t found at the Home of the Sirens.
But for all of that, a young lady in Rickmansworth suddenly realized why we are so unhappy and what (and who) can actually do something about it.
All that and more this week on an unhappy episode of What The Frock!

Both the Good Friar and the Rabbi are religious people, but while sarcastic goliards, neither of them could really be called “zealots.” So when they take a look at a couple of religious stories from the week, it is with an eye to have a deeper understanding of things. Not just to sing bawdy songs and drink booze.
The Superb Owl was… eh… but the commercials, with a singular exception were a complete bomb. That one exception though, has had Dave giggling all week.
Would you buy a $400 pair of tennis shoes? What if they were being sold by a politician? And last week we were told that the strategic situation was completely unhinged since Russia was about to launch something – nobody knows what – into space. Is this a James Bond flick?
And we now know what is going on with Dave’s knee. It’s even worse than we had thought…
How ’bout them donuts?
In the middle of a mid-term exam, Rabbi Dave realizes something about the past. The people who wrote for Star Trek were geniuses. The lessons they were trying to teach us were every bit as important then as they are now. If we can only listen to what they were… and are.. saying, we might find that the ideas they were reiterating have reasoned for more than a century. Which leave the rabbi and the Good Friar wondering what there is today teaching those same lessons?
The Special counsel report on Joe Biden’s handling of Classified materials was released this week. There’s nothing in it that surprised anybody. And whether you see it as a ringing damnation of a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory, or as a conniving evil manipulator with the intent to destroy America, really depends less on the report and more on where you personally started the day. In any case, the report will result in no actual action, but leaves us wondering, really… is this the best we can do?
Sharks and Rays living and fornicating together! Mass hysteria! Floridians driving 200mph! Insanity!
And it’s Superb Owl Day. Once again, Dave faces his usual problem – who to root for in the “big game,” which we never call by it’s real name…
We are quite sure that virtually nobody in this audience has ever asked the question, “Why do they call it ‘Starbucks?'” But.. it became quite the point of contention this week for the Rabbi and the Rebbetizin.
On the other hand, have you ever wondered who exactly it is that is watching TV and then going to their Doctor specifically to ask for the latest drug they saw advertised on TV? You’ve never done that. we’ve never done that…. so who exactly is doing that? The answer might surprise you. Or… it might not if you think about it.
If you happen to be a Windows 3.11 expert, there may be a job for you. Is it time for a giant space beach umbrella?
The Rabbi bought a new monitor. Why? You might believe his story about needing it for school…
Ah, “What the Frock?” – always diving into the deep end of society’s pool, aren’t we? This time around, we’re stirring the pot with an episode that’s sure to get the tongues wagging and maybe a few brows furrowing. The title? “A Failure of Mating Strategies?” Now, that’s a headline that’s both a question and an exclamation, a real hook.
We kick off with a juicy theory that’s been simmering in the social pot: the idea that our mating strategies, or rather the apparent failure of them, are at the heart of the division ripping through modern society. It’s a bold claim, one that our experts dissect with the precision of a surgeon. We’re talking about the evolution of dating, the swipe-left culture, and how the digital age has transformed our quest for companionship. It’s an analysis that’s as enlightening as it is controversial.
Then, we pivot to a listener email that takes us down a different road, one that’s equally bumpy. The topic? Illegal immigration. This isn’t just any email; it’s a heartfelt narrative that paints a vivid picture of the complexities and human stories behind the headlines. It’s a perspective that might just challenge your preconceptions.
But hey, it’s not all heavy stuff. We’ve got an update on Rabbi Dave’s knee – because, let’s face it, we’ve all been on the edge of our seats about that one.
And we dive into the lighter side of life with a cautionary tale that’s as hilarious as it is bizarre. Why you should never, and I mean never, go through a drive-thru hamburger place after taking super-Viagra or park in a geothermal hot spring. It’s a story that’s got everything: humor, absurdity, and a life lesson you won’t forget.
So, dear listeners, buckle up for an episode of “What the Frock?” that’s guaranteed to entertain, enlighten, and maybe even enrage. It’s a rollercoaster ride through the quirky, the serious, and the downright bizarre aspects of our society. Don’t miss it!
It’s one of “those” days again. The Good Friar is still on his deathbed with the consumption, while Rabbi Dave has had almost no time to prep the show because life keeps getting in the way.
Who exactly is “The Patriot Front?” And why do so many people believe that it is a 110% phony organization designed to do the opposite of what it claims to be? Even Elon seems to believe that it is completely fake. So given the nature of what the organization claims to be, why do so many believe that it is not telling the truth?
Humor used to be cutting edge and designed to make you laugh at being uncomfortable. Now, it seems that anything that is actually funny is, by definition, offensive and requires an attention whore to attention whore by complaining about it.
All that and more this week on What The Frock?
Gather ’round! I’ve got a tale to spin about our latest episode of “What The Frock?” with our ever-entertaining duo, Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod. This week’s episode, “A Cultlike Adherence to Political Dogma,” is a wild ride, I tell ya – it’s got curses, politics, moon landing conspiracies, and even a dash of personal medical drama!
Let’s kick things off with a journey back in time, shall we? Picture this: the Spanish Conquistadors, decked in their armor, landing in the New World. But, get this – our hosts dive into how these conquerors might have been cursed by Native American gods. Spooky, right? The discussion weaves through history and myth, creating this tapestry that’s both eerie and fascinating. I mean, who doesn’t love a good curse story?
Then, we snap back to the present with American politics. The big news? Chris Christie, big personality and even bigger opinions, bowing out of the 2024 Presidential race. Dave and Rod chew over this like it’s the last piece of brisket at a barbecue – dissecting the whys and hows with their usual flair. They’re not just talking politics; they’re unraveling the fabric of American political theater.
And just when you think it can’t get any more outlandish, we veer into conspiracy territory. Yes, the moon landings – or should I say, the “faked” moon landings? Our hosts put on their detective hats and dive deep into this rabbit hole. I’m not saying they’re convincing me, but let’s just say they know how to spin a yarn that makes you go, “Hmmm.”
But wait, there’s a twist! In the midst of all this, we get a personal story from Dave, and it’s about his disdain for getting an IV. It’s not just a grumble – it’s a full-on epic saga of a man versus the needle. His recounting is so vivid, you can almost feel the cold antiseptic and the pinch on your own arm. It’s a human moment that brings us back down to earth after all that high-flying conspiracy talk.
So, there you have it, folks – this week’s episode of “What The Frock?” is a blend of the mystical, the political, the controversial, and the personal. It’s like mixing a historical documentary with a late-night talk show and a dash of your grandpa’s tall tales. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this. Tune in, kick back, and let Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod take you on a journey that’s as wild as it is weird. And remember, in the world of “What The Frock?”, expect the unexpected!
But NOT the Spanish Inquisition!

Welcome to 2024! It’s not off to a great start as the Rabbi has a massive cold and a raw throat. But unlike some people we could name, he did not go to Hawaii…
2024 is shaping up to be a complete and total sh*#tshow, from politics to conflicts to… the NFL? The USPS finally gets around to delivering a letter, while one homeowner has a missing driveway. The question is… why?
It’s a rough start to the year, but the boys are back and ready for whatever 2024 can throw at us.
It’s the end of the world as we know it. The proof that something “Big” is happening is found not only in the actions of the world elites, such as Zuck who is building an underwater submarine lair, but in the films that we are force fed every year at this season that remind of of the glorious socialist revolutions and how capitalism will ultimately fall to the united workers collectives.
Meanwhile in Flori-duh, not even statues of the beloved Manatees are safe from crocodile throwing lunatics, and – as it turns out – you’ll want to be careful about watching the news.
All that and more on the final episode of What the Frock for 2023…
Is there a danger of AI taking over podcasting? If it did, would most people even notice? What if AI started interfering in politics? If the dueling “Words of the Year” have anything to say about it, there is an authentic possibility that our rizz may go totally unnoticed.
We start with the video making the rounds on the social media webs, where it appears that the Cadets and Midshipman were chanting “F Joe Biden!” at the game. Listen… it should already be obvious, its fake video. But for some reason, there are people who want it to be true and are spreading it as if it were real. Now… what if AI had been used instead of video software? What if it wasn’t so easy to determine it is a fake video? What if AI was getting involved in our politics? Would we be able to tell the difference?
All of that and more, this week on What The Frock?!
The Good Reverend Rod is showing off his acting chops. If you’re in the Central valley, you’ll want to go and catch him on the stage.
The State of Montana didn’t understand some fundamental things about the US Constitution, particularly the 1st Amendment. Or the 14th Amendment. Or the concept that you either have free speech, or you don’t.
In California, the State has decided that public school curriculum is now required to include teaching on “media literary content” in “mathematics, science and history-social science” lessons. It raises questions, the main one being whether or not a person can go on social media and claim that chickens are vegan?
Swordfish are murdering sharks. And scientists are baffled by it.
In Vietnam, a man managed to do something that nobody can believe. All that and more this week on a Taylor Swift free episode of What the Frock!
The Good Friar is still sick, but the boys are still here to wonder about the recent developments in the world of AI. Clearly there is a large among of stupid people who keep asking the AI to decide morally ambiguous questions. Then the complain on the interwebs about the answers that the great AI gives them.
Rabbi Dave needs to make a bunch of money, and on last weeks show he figured out how to do it! Today we’ll take the wrappers off his Hallmark holiday Movie – Harmony of Hearts©!
As it turns out, it is always illegal to kill your estranged wife using a snake. Seriously, you can even ask ChatGPT, it will tell you the same thing. The bigger question is how in the world is Dolly Parton STILL looking so good at 77?
An alleged comedian insulted victims of domestic violence and got in social media hot water. Instead of retreating, he decided to throw it right back.
All that and possibly more this week on What The Frock?
The Good Friar Rod is back from his illness, but he is also now locked up in Twitter jail. While he was away, Rabbi Dave has figured out the best way for this podcast to become huge and world renown. It does involve a little bit of self-sacrifice and the involvement of listeners, but trust us, this will make us BIG!!!!!
There is something wrong in California. All of sudden, leading Democrats there are telling the truth about stuff. Which is true, because… well… it’s true.
WTF takes us to an uncomfortable DYI medical procedure and brings the future of star Trek to life, while Hallmark introduces SciFi Hallmarks Christmas flicks which remind us that messing with the past is a bad idea, unless it’s a Hallmark Holiday film, in which case, it can be predicted by ChatGPT.
All that and more this week on What The Frock?
Something odd is happening, and it’s not just Friar Rod’s suspicious voice that doesn’t sound very “sick.” No… it’s whatever is happening in the country right now, which saw some very disturbing things happen last night in the nations’ capitol.
It has Rabbi Dave thinking about the Roman Empire, which is something that most men do anyway. But this time, he’s wondering about whether or not there were advantages to the empire which we have failed to consider?
SBF is very scared about going to prison for up to one hundred and fifteen years. But not for the reasons that you might think.
All that an more this week on What The Frock?
The day starts when some rando listener down in Floriduh texts Rabbi Dave to inform him that he (Dave) is a part of the “MAGA wing” of our party.” He also thinks that Dave just does a super job on Dave Does History, BUT…
Anyway, unlike many other shows, Slippery Fish Entertainment has a long record of tapes that show that make the point, so… well… maybe you should check with Jesus before you decide to take matters into your own hands and act on it? Just saying…
Gun control was in the news again. At least until people figured out that the perp was a textbook example of exactly why gun control doesn’t work.
Warwickshire is a little over two hours from Scotland Yard. Which makes you wonder why it took them thirty-one hours to solve a grisly crime? Also, you shouldn’t put lobsters down your pants. Mainly because they are terribly expensive. The reason that lobsters are so expensive though, might have you saying, “WTF?”
A long time ago (okay, it was two whole years) Dave and Friar Rod had a Halloween discussion about Dave’s adventures with a Witch Doctor in San Francisco. Because we keep the old shows available, unlike other shows, it is possible to go all the way back in the record and see exactly what the boys had to say about pretty much any topic you want, including why they both voted for Donald Trump, either two or three times, which, spoiler alert, had nothing to do with MAGA hats. Anyway, we revisit the story of the Witch Doctor because there was a follow up to the story this week…
On this week’s episode you’ll get all that AND the answer to the question of who would play Rabbi Dave or Friar Rod on the movie version of What the Frock?
Is there something going on over at Facebook? It seems like – without any evidence to support it – that news about the world’s most dangerous conflict is either being suppressed or otherwise shadow banned? Or is it?
Much like October 22nd sixty-one years ago, the world seems like it is on the edge. Back then, one man, we are told, “saved” the world from nuclear apocalypse. What will happen this time?
speaking of ancient history, we have the ten oldest jokes in history. we thought that this would be a great segment. Spoiler alert… it’s not.
Is Elizabeth Hurley the show’s new Rosamund Pike? Spoiler alert (again)… yes.
All that and more this week on What The Frock!
The Rabbi and the good Friar get together to talk about the last week and the outrage we’ve seen. At the end of the day, hate is hate, and it never ends well.
The national political scene isn’t much better. There is no Speaker of the House, while there are at least two wars that directly involves the United States in one way or another. But… there is growing noise to get a speaker. The question is, what exactly would the Democrats be willing to do to “help” the GOP? More interesting, what would the GOP do to get a speaker in place?
It’s that time of year again, so the boys will review the most hated Halloween candies in the country. Also, we learn that one of them hates coconut. Which means that he is probably a terrorist…
The truth is, rabbi Dave doesn’t feel much like having fun today. This should be a joyous day filled with dancing and laughter. Instead, it’s full of death and destruction.
A trip to a local fast food place leads to questions about tips and tipping, while a discussion of getting longer legs leads places you do not want to go.
And like most real men in America these days (and forever), we discuss the glory that is Rome!
It's almost here, the holiest day of the year. And the Rabbi isn't as excited about it as you might think. The good news is that the NFL announced its Super Bowl Halftime show this morning. The bad news is that it will not include Edgar Allen Poe.
The Ukraine War is still going on. And on. And on. And on. And. on. And more money. And more money. And more money.
Marching Bands versus police tasers and New York City is having a problem with infectious disease, including... Ebola????
Governor Newsome vetoed a bill that everybody expected him to sign. The only real question is whether or not he is telling the truth about why he did so?
All that and more this week, on an erev Yom Kippur episode of What the Frock!
For some reason, the 2024 campaign for President is NOT going well for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who may have - in a desperate attempt to out Trump Donald Trump, threatened to invade Mexico. President Biden has enough troubles of his own, and now the newspapers and the CIA are starting to weigh in on his problems in 2024.
It seemingly turns out that "brewed" chicken isn't. On the other hand, it's not killing people. Idealy.
For the last 78,000 years people have hated the karaoke version of one particular song, which even the Neanderthals hated as they watched the harbinger of our doom slowly sweep across the night skies...
All that and more, ideally, this week on What The Frock...
The Good Friar has a throat problem, which is solved by being a “double ender” podcast. You don’t care, but it’s all a part of the magic.
Rabbi Dave is in a great deal of pain after a weekend of making field trips for Ben’s benefit. Gravity 5, Dave 0.
Does anybody believe Gavin Newsome when he says that he is definitely no running for President in 2024? Oddly enough, Dave does. because really, who would even want to be President in 2025?
The real Burning Man festival does not feature any Coachella people. It also does not take place in Nevada.
And it’s opening weekend of the NFL season. Huzzah!
All that and more on this weeks episode of What The Frock!
It’s been a strange week. Then again, maybe it was last week that was strange?
It’s a Holiday Weekend, so if you’re expected any in depth analysis of anything, you’re in for a disappointment. The boys are highly distracted and the conversation is as confused as the calendar in 1752. Dave has an announcement about his future, while Rod spent yesterday enjoying the pageantry of not watching NCAA Football opening weekend.
AI is taking over the sex work industry, but is it good news it that maybe it can help with the current crop of Zombies that are running the nation?
You can let the Government know that you saw a UFO. which is not what they call them anymore.
In the end, you should never steal from a church. Jesus doesn’t like that…
All that and a whole lot more this week on What The Frock!
The Donald Trump mug shot has become the hottest selling item in the country. At $47 a pop, people be snapping up the mug of the Donald, including friar Rod-erick. The mug shot has the boys wondering where does all of this end up? With a new vaccine coming (along with its own mandate!) is Dave’s latest insane conspiracy theory really all that out there?
Why does Friar Rod-erick look like Donald Trump? Does gender identity effect tipping? What about Motel 6? Why do people bet on practice football?
All these questions, and more, this week on “What The Frock?”
Are you ready for another gripping, thought-provoking, and downright hilarious episode of What The Frock? Our favorite dynamic duo, Rabbi Dave and Friar Roderick, are back at the mic, weaving their unique tapestry of wisdom and wit. This week’s episode promises a delectable blend of tech talk, skeptical love affairs, and some political pondering.
First on the agenda: the rise of AI in the world of podcasting. How many of your favorite shows are using artificial intelligence for tasks from editing to even content creation? Rabbi Dave, with his ever-present love for tech, dives into the intricacies and innovations of AI in broadcasting. But will Friar Roderick be as sold on our robot overlords? Expect a lively debate that juxtaposes modern advancements with age-old wisdom. And hey, can AI really capture the human essence of a podcast?
Next, brace yourself for some hearty laughs and possible gasps as our hosts delve into "Things that people say they love but we think they’re lying about it." We’ve all been there – nodding in agreement about that uber popular TV show or pretending to adore that top-charting song. Rabbi Dave and Friar Roderick spill the beans on the overrated fan-favorites they believe people are feigning fondness for. Is it the avocado toast trend? Or perhaps those high-intensity spin classes that everyone claims to adore? Prepare to be both challenged and entertained as they unpack the perhaps 'unpopular' opinions that might just resonate with many of us.
Lastly, as always, no episode of "What The Frock?" would be complete without some political discourse. The burning question of the day: Was Trump’s decision to skip the GOP debate a masterful strategic move or a potential stumble? Our hosts don their political analyst hats, providing their distinct perspectives. Rabbi Dave delves into the history of political debates and their strategic importance, while Friar Roderick might offer some insights into the art of the gamble. No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, this discussion promises to be both enlightening and engaging.
So, whether you're tuning in for some techie talk, hunting for humorous takes on 'beloved' trends, or aiming for some astute analysis on political maneuvers, this episode of "What The Frock?" is your perfect auditory companion.
Remember to subscribe, share, and let Rabbi Dave and Friar Roderick know your own thoughts on these topics. Do you trust AI with your podcasts? And which popular trends are you secretly skeptical of?
Until next time, keep questioning, keep laughing, and keep tuning into "What The Frock?"
There’s both good news and… better(?) news this morning, depending on your view. The USWNT did not advance at the Women’s World Cup for the first time in a long time. On the other hand, Kim Jong Un scored an impressive 100% electoral victory in his campaign for Dear Leader. You should write that down.
The great Plastic Straw ban may or may not have been successful, once again, depending on your point of view and what you actually think that it was trying to accomplish. You should also write that down.
The Chinese biolab making COVID in Reedly, CA turns out to have scored a really great tax incentive deal from the State of California. Now wonder they didn’t wan that written down!
And in the world of pop culture, Denise Richards has the Rabbi and the Good Friar considering taking up yoga.
All that and more on a busy episode of What the Frock?
The eternal argument over Term Limits got a… well… boost this week after a couple of geezers in congress that should have retired and/or died years ago managed to bring it to everybody’s attention. Should there be term limits, or at least age limits? Or, perhaps, cognitive test to determine if anybody is actually capable of serving in Congress?
The overall mantra continues to be that by “supporting” Ukraine, we are “bleeding the Russians dry. The problem with that theory is now manifest as the answer to the question, “Who is it exactly that is being bled dry?” comes into focus …
Murder most foul continues as a snake charmer sues his wiles under a woman’s influence, and a bear in Yellowstone gets away with killing a woman as well. Meanwhile, what the Communist Chinese heck is going on in Reedly, CA???
All that and more this week on What The Frock?
The Rabbi has had a stressful weekend, and today isn’t getting any better. It’s the kind of stuff that has him saying (deleted).
The big question this week is whether or not the understanding the we are gaining of AI effects or changes the way we view prophecy, particularly Biblical prophecy, which doesn’t mean the same thing to different people.
Speaking of AI, the computer has come up with what it says it the “best” cuss word in existence. It’s not correct, because it did not even consider “Belgium” It’s also the opening week of Dave’s favorite sport season.
All that and more this week on What The Frock!
Is it weird to anybody else that Dylan Mulvaney’s nipples were blurred out in the newspapers pictures of him last week? Or… is it possible that some AI (it’s fancy… first off it’s two letters and it means “artificial intelligence”) came up with the idea of his dress and to blur our the offensive nipples?
Other people watching Netflix have said that the whole AI concept “scares” them, to the point that they are unable to sleep. which could be solved by a judicious application of the “What Color Is The Dress” post. failing that, you can go and wait in a Yellowstone National Park toilet.
Or just wait for all the talking heads to start praising Tucker on Monday, because you don’t need a killer AI robot to tell you that’s a-coming…
In an age of synthetic reality, how do we have any idea of what is real or what to believe? It was bad enough in 2016, but now? How many different ways are we being shown and told things that may or may not be truth?
If a robot taxicab can be disabled with a traffic cone, and a female crocodile can parthenogenetically reproduce, is it possible for us to know what to accept as real and dismiss that which is unreal?
Rabbi Dave is sick. He’s been sick all week, but has dragged himself out of bed because this is important. He and the Good Friar Rod are here because they are broadcast professionals who deserve a $20Million contract from Spotify and they will actually show up to work, unlike some people we could name (Harry and Meagan).
The Titan thing still has Dave freaked out, mostly because we learned this week that it was absolutely (probably) NOT instant and painless for the five people aboard.
Keep your Gay Wedding sites safe from hacking by furries. seriously… it’s (probably) a thing now that the Supreme Court has issued what appears to be an ruling based on something that… well… may not have actually, technically… happened?
And today is the anniversary of the one of the greatest moments in film history. Surely… you can’t be serious!
How do actual fifty-year old white guys who happen to be qualified in submarines deal with the Titan event? with humor, of course, most of it as dark as black coffee And while that may offend some people, the reality is Americans have always dealt with tragedies this way. Even 9/11.
A fantastical tale might help explain what happened – or didn’t happen – in Russia over the weekend. Honesty is a rare commodity in scientific studies , and Cardi B, yes… the WAP singer… like many other submersible experts, had a lot to say about the step son of one of the billionaires on the Titan going to see a concert of other musicians.
Seriously… you cannot make this stuff up… not even on What the Frock?
If you were confused, you're not the only one. It's Father's Day (definitely not a Friday evening) and the Good Friar and the Rabbi are totally confused by the Presidents remarks as well as why it is that billionaire sports team owners need to have taxpayer funded stadiums.
Sports are the theme of the day, and it's a reminder that men like sports, even the mascots, while in Soccer, Mexico and the the US don't seem to like each other at all...
All that this week on a Fathers Day (not a Friday evening) episode of What The Frock?
Rabbi Dave is back from his nineteen days on the road with a thirteen year old boy. It’s a great way to see America and at the same time miss all the news and happenings that Friar Rod kept up on.
scientists, the same ones who keep telling us that everything is settled, have figured out a way to solve global warming and keep the Earth from overheating. It won’t work, but somebody will get very rich from the plan. Meanwhile, some people think that living longer is a great idea. So… like a Barnabas Collins wannabe, they are forcing their children to give them blood.
It turns out that there is a very good reason that Dave never ate the piece of artisanal cheese that he bought in Wisconsin (where the real Americans live)…
All that and more this week on What The Frock!
The good news isn't that Britney Griner is back playing practice games in the WNBA. It's what she says about it that really has people excited.
Meanwhile the City of Yonkers, New York is really mad at New York City over the dumping of illegal immigrants. But even Yonkers isn't as mad as a Florida couple who had planned to get married in Orange County (NY), but... well... their big day got usurped by the same thing.
Dave's getting ready to hit the road, so savor this tasty morsel of What The Frock...
Yes, King Chuck III got hisself coronated yesterday at three in the morning. we did not get up to watch. That said, we still have questions.
A man is dead after his behavior on the NYC Subway caused problems. The bigger question is whether or not this was truly just “mental illness” or if it was learned behavior?
King Chuck has “giant sausage fingers.” And now, for just $63, you can suck on them.
All that and more this week on What The Frock?
A Law professor at Harvard – the smartest school in America – says that there is just too much free speech out there, especially on the interwebs. And he isn’t even close to being the dumbest professor at Harvard – the smartest school in America.
Speaking of dumb, what if the Bud Lite execs , who have said that they had no clue what was going on, actually didn’t know what was going on? was firing Tucker Carlson a dumb move or a master stroke of manipulation?
People are dumb enough to want to pretend to be disabled, and some doctors are dumb enough to go along. In Bremerton this morning, the revolution came and went on a Ferry boat.
And it’s Coronation week! Congrats to King Chuck III, who, in a time of international war and brouhaha, has decided to signal his commitment to peace and prosperity by having a short coronation ceremony and wear a military uniform.
All that and more (Dave buys a book on camping) this week on What The Frock?
It’s been a month of Sundays, but at long last, Rabbi Dave is back! Together with the Good Friar Rod, we’ll take a look at the leak of classified documents and why it is that pretty much everybody seems to think that this was a good thing. Plus the boys will solicit unqualified medical advice from listeners.
Twenty-one year old junior birdmen don’t seem all that smart. Did Governor Jay Inslee manage to personally cause a Washington State Ferry to crash?
It's the morning of the Daylight Savings Time "Spring forward" time change. There is always a lot of confusion, a lot of arguments and... a lot of resentment.
Privacy concerns dominate the news, with the FBI admitting (finally) that it has continued to purchase data from cell phone providers. At the same time, a nonprofit Catholic group has also purchased VERY specific data from a specific App in order to out and to dox a very specific group that it does not like.
Do you grow or show? The Washington State Legislature weighs in and makes you say, WTF?
According to a recent report, people who read The Lord of the Rings and 1984, are "more likely" to become "right wing extremists." Unfortunately, the report had no information about middle aged men who follow crypto currency scams on Instagram.
Meanwhile, the National Park service has some advice in case of bears, and we are now living in the final hours before the world no longer has a History of the World Pt II... All that and more, this week on What The Frock with Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod
Good day, hosers! Rabbi Dave has returned from his voyage across the mighty Pacific Ocean! While he was gone, things changed... Dilbert got canceled, Project Veritas got rid of James O'Keefe, and even James Bond got rewritten to make him less... James Bond...
Turns out Coke and Pepsi are good for something's... while telling people that we orbit the sun will get you thrown in jail.
All that and more today on What The Frock?
A recent article has the Good Friar and the Rabbi discussing whether or not a sermon, written entirely by AI, can have any "soul," whatever that means. Of course it dredges out the past for Dave and it turns out that he has no empathy. For anybody.
J.K. Rowling gets an apology, but it has a weird vibe to it. The military is shooting down balloons, but they ain't West Taiwanese.
And in the audience participation segment, we have an HR nightmare of a set up...
Recent developments in the world of AI have the good Friar and the Rabbi concerned about the things that might be coming in the future. It's more than just using AI to create deep fakes that offend and outrage. In a politically charged atmosphere, how will you discern truth from the fake?
It appears to be open season on UFOs. The Pentagon told us that at least three have now been shot down. West Taiwanese satellites are now being used to put on laser light shows in Hawaii.
All that and more Burt Reynolds than you ever wanted this week on What The Frock?
After a rough night, the Rabbi and the Friar are up and at it to celebrate all things Balloon! A weird fish story has them not wondering WTF, while Flori-dah has them wondering WTF? A look at language has them saying putain de merde, Etm!
The State of the Union is coming up this week... let's take bets on what JaBiden will say and not say!
The Associated Press spent "the" week apologizing for the one sin that requires no atonement whatsoever. Somebody who works at the AP decided that in one of their stories they had referred to "the" French by a derogatory term. It's hard to imagine that such a term exists but in their mind, it does and they had offended "the" entire French world by using the offensive term.
And the entire world, including "The" French, laughed at them.
More classified documents, more fun. More turkeys and "the" straws...
All this week on What "The" Frock?
It seems like everywhere you turn, AI Chatbots are taking over the world. And maybe even WTF? It seems that religious leaders are starting to use AAI to write their sermons, which could be a problem because how in the name of G-d could an AI Chabot explain the Plague of Darkness which has Dave in a dither this week?
The Conservative media world seems to be lost in a dispute over $20Million. Either that or the people involved are just... well... stupid.
Shrinkage has now been confirmed by science, while Shakira caught her cheating ex with some amazing detective work. And in Cincinnati, you'll have to choose which Mass to attend based on the position of the Priest... Beware the Darkness!
The Vice President of the United States is always one heartbeat away from the Presidency. Or these days, one box of CLASSIFIED documents from the Oval Office? Maybe? Or is all that just a... conspiracy theory?
Kinda like whether or not the climate induced cardiac events are actually happening. Or not?
We've got a listener WTF and in the middle of that we learn that Prince Harry tried to kill the King. Once upon a time that would have gotten him sent to the Tower.
Dave now knows why he takes the statins, and he's got big plans for when he wins the lottery!
Welcome to 2023. New year, same old weirdness. Telephone Operators who man the 4-1-1 lines are now out of a job. We have a big list of things that will probably happen in 2023. Or probably not.
The Two Princes of England has us rooting for Oliver Cromwell to make a comeback.
No matter what Tik Tok tells you, putting potatoes in your socks is stupid. Almost as stupid as people who call 9-1-1 (which we should also retire) because they can't delete a voice mail.
It's the first episode of a new year for What the Frock?
Rabbi Dave, Friar Rod and Baptist Billy get together on the most joyous of days (Festivus) to rant and praise the best and the worst of the Holiday Season.
Whether it's TV or films or food or just their holiday plans, whatever happens, PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE COPS!!!!!!
It has been an up and down week, with Dave's misadventures under Nitrous Oxide and Rods delicious deflowering when it comes to Little Debby's Christmas Tree cakes!
The annual tradition of taking a look at the crazy Hallmark Christmas/Holiday flicks is back. This year with diversity! The year the boys look to Artificial Intelligence to create the PERFECT Hallmark christmas flick - "The HALLMARK HOT!" staring Elon and AOC, whose film career could use a shot in the arm.
The World Cup is over. At long last. No spoilers here, but the final went to overtime and penalty kicks before Argentina won it when France surrendered.
The Methodist church is splitting apart, which momentarily will distract the good Friar and Rabbi Dave from the bigger issues of the day, such as the Britney Griner trade and the Twitter files.
But even none of that should distract from the major accomplishment of this show, what the frock, achieved in 2022!!! (three exclamation show, so you know that we mean it)
Friar Rod and Rabbi Dave are deeply concerned that the true reason for the season has been... well... lost. They are also worried about the lack of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes in the Central Valley of California.
The World Cup is over for the United States, but NOT for the nation of Croatia. The locals in Qatar don't really like Croatia's biggest star, or the football team either.
The Mayan's might be bringing back human sacrifice, especially for women who twerk on top of their temples, while the Liver King turns out to be... well... a complete and total fake. Who didn't see that coming?
After a rough start to the day - or in Friar Rod's case, a continuation of the previous evening - the boys are pleased that Congress is finally addressing the most serious issue facing our nation today - Taylor Swift Tickets!
The World Cup begins today. Until a couple of days ago nobody actually cared. But now, Qatar has decided that unless you happen to be a wealthy oil sheik, you cannot have a beer at the games. The director of FIFA has made it clear that this makes him feel like a... Woman???
And Rabbi Dave got an eMail with the solution to his problem with leg cramps!
Welcome to Day Six of the 2022 Midterm elections! It turns out that there is a scientific reason, if not a theological one, that the Neanderthal's didn't survive. It has to do with who was loving who.
Rabbi Dave told you six months ago that there would be no "Red Tsunami." The question is why did so many people believe that there would be? Was it the as simple as the polls were "wrong?" Or is there an issue with the quality of candidates? And what if the real conspiracy about election counting was in the 60's through the 80's, not now?
Despite the long week of more or less bad news (including more threats by the Russians to nuke) there is at least one good story this week. It will make you say "WTF?"
And it's the best time of year for Dave. His favorite holiday snackage is now available!
Thank the gods that it is almost over... for now... What is it? why... It's THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION EVER!!!!!!
It's not, but that isn't stopping Chelsea Handler from once again exposing herself to convince you that it IS the most important election ever AND that Daylight Savings Time is a MEGA MAGA Republican conspiracy to keep you from voting.
The simple and unarguable FACT is that this is not only NOT the most important election ever, there are a lot of reasons to believe that literally NOTHING will change whichever way it goes.
The Supreme Court has decided to wade into the Section 230 waters. Ultimately it's about WHO gets to decide what speech is allowed and not allowed on the interwebs.
The Trashtros* cheated to win another World Series, while the World Corn Hole Championships suffered their own cheating scandal.
All that and more on this weeks episode of "What The Frock?"
Rabbi Dave is having a tough time of things. Some of you... and you know who you are... have hurt his feelings. Meanwhile the Vice President of the United States has a weird sexual inclination. And she's willing to openly discuss it, while cackling and clearly thinking about pushing the old guy off the stage. The Paul Pelosi story is weird. I think that we can all agree on that, even if you actually believe that some random undocumented Canadian nudist broke in and just whacked him with a hammer without any reason whatsoever.
Meanwhile, Friar Rod's bird is finally free! Twitter is now a fully owned subsidiary of Elon Musk who is busy firing a bunch of Data Engineers.
Halloween is bringing out the attention whores, including one who is entertaining dead people, while Russia is having major problems with its entertainment industry, specifically comedy. Which might be an opening for Rabbi Dave?
And while the airlines are going to make the seats even smaller, a discussion ensues as to exactly and specifically why Dave hates to fly.
All this week on What the Frock, your fashion industry podcast leader!
Are you easily offended (or don't like Monty Python)? Then you most definitely do not want to listen to the most offensive and sacrilegious episode ever of What the Frock... which was definitely - no doubt about it - not recorded on an Saturday evening, but rather a usual Sunday morning even though the boys are drinking really early on a Sunday morning, not a Saturday night.
Rabbi Dave is morose this morning. Why? Because now that Autumn is upon us, he is realizing that life no longer has any meaning because Evil never rests and will always conquer good. It is relentless and no amount of comfort from Friar Rod will restore his faith in humanity or baseball.
The proof of the Rabbi's theory on evil can be found in the city of Stockton, CA. It s here that a Serial Killer has been caught. But it won't be the last one.
Friar rod has an obsession with AI. Now he's thinking about switching political parties. and whatever you do this month - DO NOT GO TO SALEM WITHOUT A PLAN!
Speaking of politics, at least one candidate for Congress has an interesting approach to the concept of political ads...
With his liver functions no longer "elevated," Rabbi Dave is reduced to taking Benadryl to try and sleep. The problem is it makes him late to stuff. Neither of the boys have seen the new rom-com "Bros." Is it because they are homophobes or because the film isn't that good?
To the surprise nobody who doesn't wok for Fox News or the Blaze, the Scooby Doo character, Velma, turned out to be a lesbian. Really... who was surprised by this?
Our hero John Malkovich has a new movie coming out... in 2015, and parental behavior at high school football games it out of whack.
It's a no-nukes version of What the Frock!
Is it the end of the world as we know it? with all these international brouhaha going on these days, it seems like we might be. Part of the problem is that some people ever thought that podcasts were anything other than radio to begin with. Seriously.
Rabbi Dave got a new cell phone, and at long lost, his greatest dream has been achieved!
On this sad day, the Rabbi and the Friar lament the departure of James Earl Jones, the very voice of Star Wars and King Jaffe Joffer.
Meanwhile there was no military coup in west Taiwan on Friday, so why did so many people believe that there had been one? The answer is becoming increasingly a problem, as Social Media once again demonstrates its scary ability to put information - bad or good - out there in a hurry.
Have you tried the latest Social Media challenge, "Sleepy Chicken?" Of course not. Because you are not a moron. If you're going to divorce your wife, don't ask for a divine trial... she's not a witch...
The whole Martha's Vineyard fiasco finally went there. The entire argument became "Who are the "true" Christians? Meanwhile, Meta, which used to be Facebook, is performing a silver platter service for the FBI.
If you're going to cheat at chess, at least make it stimulating. And if you happen to be in SeaTac's North Park, you'll need a helmet!
The Goliards have come full circle. At long last, we once again have a King Charles (played by John Malkovich)! Like the last time (and the time before that) we had a King Chuck, it's time for Goliards everywhere to celebrate and sing boisterously while drinking like it's a symposium. It's a celebration of all things (not you, Ireland) English Monarchial system, no matter how silly it seems to us...
It was a confusing week... the messages that were being sent by the Supreme Leader were, at best, mixed and confusing. The bigger question is simply who exactly at whom was he talking? Because it didn't make much sense to the Good Friar or the Rabbi. Or anybody else, for that matter.
Swatting is still a thing, and even if the interwebs are protected by the 1st Amendment, should the use of the internet to incite violence - even if it is just potential violence - be allowed?
Dave's WTF story just cannot hold up to Rod's and literally nobody in the world, except Sarah Michelle Gellar, cares that she is still married to Freddie Prinze, Jr.
The important lesson this week, is if you're going to send a message, do it smartly. Send nudes!
This past week, the Podcast Movement, which isn't the entirety of podcasting by any means, decided to have it's annual conference at which they sold space to The Daily Wire, based upon their (the Daily Wires) "heavy involvement in podcasting." Then the PM decided to apologize to the world for it.
The State of California has decided to go a step further an ban the sale of ALL internal combustion engine vehicles a little over a decade from now. Why anybody still lives there is beyond the Rabbi, but there is a bigger problem with this whole thing...
It turns out that the whole "She-Hulk" thing is actually real. There really is a show featuring a woman who gets Hulk powers but because she's a woman she deals with the emotions better than Bruce Banner. Unfortunately, the interwebs do not...
All that and more this week on What the Frock?
NOTE: Just as this show ended, Dave received the text informing him that his father had passed away. We apologize for the delay in editing and posting, but we know that you will understand.
The Rabbi and the soon to not be a Friar are back to complain about teenagers and alarm clocks, Tik Tok and pre-season NFL football. Plus they get into the latest developments in the Ukraine War, the Yellowstone National Park body count, why medieval Friars were some of the most disgusting people to ever live, and Alec Baldwin who needs to be careful about what he is shooting at!
It's a brand new episode of What the Frock!
Rabbi Dave is an a mood today. "Why?" the Good Friar Rod will ask? Because Dave had dreams that were smashed by his twelve year old son.
Meanwhile there is a bigger question. Is it actually possible that some of our political "leaders" are really as stupid as they sound? Or is it all just an act, because, seriously, you would have to be a moron to actually believe some of the things that they are saying in public.
John Hinckley, Jr... you know, the guy that shot the President... is having a tough go of things lately. He want to perform his original music at concerts for which people will pay him gobs of money, but the venues keep cancelling his shows because, well... he's still John Hinckley, Jr. Of course, you can probably guess who's fault this all is...
Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger. Who says so? Well... that would be the FBI. The same FBI that I am told is lying about everything else...
NASA is headed back tot he moon, but sans actual astronauts. It's a test of the new system that cannot be duplicated on Earth.
Meanwhile, Dave still doesn't have an Entemann's chocolate donut...
Rabbi Dave goes to a casino and actually wins! So why is he having an issue with it? Meanwhile the Good Friar pushes Dave's buttons when it comes to callers to Talk radio shows, which was supposed to be a rant about "being crazy for money" on the air. That's Dave's pet theory for how people like Hal Turner and Alex Jones get millions of dollars from stupid people.
If your nickname is "Redbeard," you probably shouldn't steal a parrot. Never trust a scientist, especially a French one with a Twitter account.
The Jenner's and the Kardashian's are having a spat over lips, while one of their friends is wearing a new bikini that has some people, not Rod and Dave, upset. All this week on What the Frock?
At long last the summer voyages are over and the Rabbi and Friar have returned.
After four thousand miles across the country at 80mph because nowadays that is "safe," and a couple of gas stops in Oregon, Dave has a serious message for America. Listen up, because you need to hear this and this nations driver need to their act together and star driving like we're supposed to.
In the ensuing days, Dave managed to get his Facebook account nuked. Or maybe not. Who knows? Facebook isn't saying. But it's now absolutely clear where that line which cannot be crossed is found.
The parties in New York City have found a new home, and the entire state of Oregon is just flat out stupid. All of you.
And just in case you really didn't want to know about it, AOC is mad and Samantha Bee is at long last going away...
For the moment, at least, the Rabbi and the Friar are back. Rod's voice is now fully recovered and there is much to catch up on.
Dave is convinced that he has the world's dumbest cat, while he also has some travel advice if you're coming to the Pacific Northwest.
Fireworks were entertaining on the 4th of July, and it turns out that Nancy Pelosi has really big... well... breasts. Who knew?
Refrigerators are being opened by Instagram models and stupid people are hiring fake hit men.
All this week on What the Frock?
It's been a few weeks, but the Rabbi and the Friar are back after several adventures which includes Dave catching the Covid.
Nancy Pelosi says that the Archbishop who denied her communion is being hypocritical, while Kim Kardashian is trying to convince you to eat something that she herself refuses to eat.
What the Frock is back... at least for today!
Rabbi Dave is feeling really old today. Why?
First of all, it seems like Twitter has decided that old white guys are all Taliban types who want all women covered in public.
Wait... that's the actual Taliban types who have unwavering support from Talabanisti's who support the idea of women being subservient to men in real life, not some television adaptation of a bad book that makes Twitter types point fingers at people they don't even know.
Star Trek Strange New Worlds had it's much anticipated debut this week. Like other things, it made Dave feel really old. It's not your great grandfathers Star Trek... but it's not as bad as some of the others...
It seems like the only major political figure who hasn't been to Ukraine lately is... Vladimir Putin. Even Jill Biden has made the trip, and made a fashion statement doing it! Meanwhile Chrishell and G Flip will have you wondering, "Who actually cares about this?" While Mel Brooks will have you saying "I care!"
As the world prepares to celebrate "Victory day," it will seemingly have an extra emphasis in places where people hate Nazis. And just who are these Nazi's? You might think it would be rabidly anti-Semitic totalitarians, but it turns out it pet lovers.
Elon Musk might have purchased Twitter for a single reason - to troll one specific politician. In any case, there is a specific reason why the political Left is losing its collective mind over him, and it's not really about Free Speech...
The Rabbi and the Friar have your news that nobody cares about, all on a May Day episode of WTF?
After getting a late start on a Passover Sunday morning, the Rabbi is deeply concerned about the rise of AI machines, which are now even being used to make... coffee??? The Good Friar is here to calm things down. Or not...
Elon Musk wants to buy twitter, which is causing all kinds of Goliardesque behavior that has everybody confused as to whether or not it's satire or whether or not anybody actually believes that Nazi's and King George III both believed in free speech???
In Switzerland, a man overdid a thing, while in cosmic WTFs, the LARGEST COMET EVER FOUND IS ON A DIRECT COURSE TO EARTH!!!!!!
In "News That We Don't Know Why Anybody Would Care About," The Queen plays hooky on Easter Sunday, the USFL proves that football has gone soft and it's pretty clear that many of you were absolutely NOT wearing protection during the pandemic.
It'll all make you wonder, What the Frock????
As the world turns, things are getting really, and we mean really, weird! The word which we no longer say is making a comeback, complete with robot dogs threatening grandma. Russia finally has an explanation for the reasons behind its invasion of Ukraine, and it’s definitely not what we thought it would be. The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo once entertained us with some science fiction fantasy. But Rabbi Dave is become increasingly concerned about Friar Rods AI life…
The good Friar is highly distracted today as his beloved Newcastle is losing badly to Tottenham. Rabbi Dave's team, Norwich City, is in dead last place, so he doesn't care anymore.
So where did Disney go wrong? Some think it was when they hired activists, other think it was when they lied to the American people about the lemmings. Rabbi Dave has a theory that involves neither of those...
The War in Ukraine is providing the Russian leader with plenty of opportunities to ask the question: What the Frock???
Friar Rod has a story about a woman getting revenge on her boyfriend who can't stop going to the Jiggly Room. It is yet another case of truth following fiction. Meanwhile many people have weighed in on the (faux) "Slap Heard Round the World," including the one man who would absolutely know...
The Goliards are out in full force this week because of the stupid things that our leaders are saying about various things, including the Loch Ness Monster, Ukraine, Cherry Trees, various Kim Jongs and Mt. Everest!
Like the salmon of Capistrano, the Rabbi and the Friar have survived the "Winter of Death!" The problem is that now that the germ we shall not mention ever again is erased from the politics of the day, there is another to take its place.
Rabbi Dave has a technical question about making decisions from feelings rather than from science and how that effects both breakfast and NCAA Swimming championships. Meanwhile the Good Friar has a new... well... not quite girlfriends, but not quite... well.. it's just weird.
In Ohio, a couple of GOP senatorial Candidates prove that Dave was right all those years ago about the need to spice up political debates. And no matter what the boys have to talk about, there are people dying in Ukraine and all that...
Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod celebrate the final end... maybe... of one of the most ridiculous public policies to ever be inflicted on Americans since prohibition. The Mask Mandates have at long last (not you, Hawaii) clunked to their end. Mind you, literally nothing has changed except for a single memo making the rounds that makes it clear it was NEVER about the science.
Dave has managed to get himself appointed to his HOA Board. why, you may ask? THIS is why... From the "Who Are These People" file, Chelsea Manning is in the news again... and also in a red bikini. Meanwhile Tchaikovsky, who died in 1893, is being cancelled. Because he was a Russian...
To be absolutely 100% crystal clear, the Rabbi and the Friar hate each other. Deeply.
In the meanwhile, World War III is getting scarier by the moment, although its not without it's entertaining moments, such as the Chechnyan Special Attack Squad that managed to get itself trapped in an elevator. Or the Babushka with a jar of pickles and a Russian drone that she didn't want buzzing her. On the down side, the Russians have arrested a major US Basketball "star," and for the last three weeks have kept her in jail as a "high profile hostage."
Down in Texas, where the former ISIS Unitarians gather each Sunday to have torrid affairs and make threats, things are a bit confused about just exactly who is the "victim" in all of this?
Two very good looking Americans are locked in an isolation chamber for a NASA experiment and they know nothing of what is going on in the world right now. The problem? Where is the chamber...?
Rabbi Dave has been banned from Facebook because of the Ukraine situation? Well… not exactly, but maybe?
The Russians have gone full Putin, and now the world is sitting on the edge of a nuclear madman’s stability. Dave lives just a few miles from a major target, but in the era of Mutal Assured Destruction (MAD), is anybody really safe from one mans insanity?
John Kerry, who served in Vietnam, has made it clear that he is unhappy about the way the Ruskies are throwing up a bunch of CO2 which is bad. Especially if you’re trying to seduce your young wife with a romantic evening of love…
Gal Gadot once sang the John Lenin hit, “Imagine” to try and achieve world peace. Oddly enough it did not work. But not AnnaLynn McCort, who apparently was once on TV, is bemoaning that she did not get the chance to be Vlads mommy.
And all of this is because of the Ukraine Situation…
The Canadian government has gone full Putin, but don't worry yourself, because Friar Rod and Rabbi Dave have the absolute highest ESG score ever achieved by any podcast!
Friar Cook and Rabbi Dave take a look at the Winter Olympic Games, which nobody seems to be watching (except for Mrs. Friar). The weird thing is that 75% of the West Taiwanese Ice Hockey team, which is only in the games because of a rule that says the host country get an automatic bid, is in fact, not actually, technically, per se, West Taiwanese...
Meanwhile, the cancelling crazies continue, this time their target is the singer Adele, who is proud to be a woman.
NASA has released some rather remarkable pictures from the surface of Mars. The Germans seem to have a problem with this...
Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod are back to talk about some really exciting news - the Good Friar is a Grandfather!
Dave has been waiting several weeks for the calendar to turn to February so as to be able to celebrate one of the greatest Goliard festivals ever conceived. It is held every February in a little place called San Juan de la Vega in Mexico and it is now in the top 5 on Dave's bucket list...
After a very confusing week, Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod are back to tell you what they are confused about, including some people nobody has any idea who are trying to censor other people that everybody knows who is. Video games are dangerous and the US Navy has... well... an explanation(?) of an odd and confusing thing that also happened.
The Rabbi and the Friar are back to talk about Cyberwar and the idea that we are already in the opening phases of World War III. In July of 1914, most of Europe showed almost no concern over the exploding crises in Serbia, at least until the our de France was over. Then the proverbial schtuff his the rotating air movement device.
Some Americans, far too many of them "Republicans" aren't just concerned about COVID, they are willing to full Stalin on us. Never go full Stalin...
California has gone bat s**t crazy, again, and the people of Wal-Mart bring us the sentence of the year (so far...)
It's 2022. Sorry, but we thought that we were supposed to be dead, so we didn't plan much for this first show of the "Winter of Death!"
Dave is feeling morose over the prospects of the new year. It's been a rarity in his long life, but to Dave, this seems like the perfect year to throw anther World War. Rod has some new equipment and some issues with idols and mannequins, while watching some of the nonsense over the "insurrection" has the boys saying "WTF?"
It’s the 2021 finale for Friar Rod and Rabbi Dave. They talk trolls and birds (along with dinosaurs and Christians), and it’s that time of the year when they bring your their look at the latest Hallmark Holiday flicks!
How much would you fork over to some “company’ to drop you off in the middle of some foreign country and leave you there? For fun? Once upon a time the Rabbi took one for the team and saw Sex and the City 2. The Peloton company is kinda wishing that they hadn’t seen it, but they want you to know that they can help keep you alive…
Unlike Mr. Big…
Rabbi Dave has arisen from his muscle relaxer induced coma to share the hour with the Good Friar Rod as they ask questions about how the government is doing things, and why Trevor Noah is in some “hot water” for finally at least appearing to see the obvious answer in front of his not so funny face.
Did you know that JaBiden is the worst treated by the media President in history? Delta Airlines had an… interesting(?) problem last week, and for reasons that nobody can seem to answer, Chris Cuomo still has his job – even after being fired.
Ho, ho, ho, it’s the first WTF of the Holiday Season!
Rabbi Dave is ready for Hanukkah, which begins tonight at sundown. Friar Rod is still convinced that Die Hard is a Christmas movie.
The onset of the next COVID panic has already begun. Let the lockdowns and mandates begin anew, over a variant that (a) probably is less virulent and (b) NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT ANYWAY!
People are really touchy about bad Yelp reviews, but not as touchy as a Preacher who had a midnight rendezvous with a reptilian version of a long dead Persian Emperor. It’ll all make you say, What the Frock?
Both the Friar and the Rabbi are… experiencing the after effects of too much drink, song and social media. The Good Friar is in Twitter Jail, while the Rabbi is fascinated by an alien invasion of North Carolina. Bless their hearts…
Some technical issues have the show time limited again, but the boys are still here to ask the question: What The Frock?
Rabbi Dave and Friar Cook recall the tragic events of St. Brice’s Day, when the invading Danish Vikings finally paid a terrible prices for… bathing.
Meanwhile, Gavin Newsome, who cackled and exploded into bats, finally showed up after two weeks, at a wedding officiated by Nancy Pelosi. You cannot make this stuff up, folks.
As you know, Dave HATES Disney. He always has. Why, you may ask? He explains just one of the reasons.
The Nation is divided, but we don’t have the time to talk about it…
The new version of the 1965 Novel, Dune” is out, and while it is a massive improvement over the 1984 version, there are still a few people who are not happy about it. From our perspective, the focus on human interaction is particularly intriguing and there are more than a few applicable to our time ideas here.
Millennial’s are upset because life, as it turns out, is not easy.
Listeners are sending us texts, and things are getting weird at nuclear power plants…
It’s Halloween! If you believe in ghosts, or spirits or just spooky stuff in general, today is your day to celebrate all things weird and whacky. Rabbi Dave once had an encounter with a verified Witch Doctor in San Francisco. But it all turned out good. The Coronal Mass ejection came and went without much of a show after all. But tonight should be fun!
DID is a thing, especially on Twitter. which is no big surprise, given the way that Western Cultures seem able to convince themselves to have bad outcomes. Maybe we need more Witch Doctors!
Tacos are the weapon of choice when it comes to domestic violence, while the failed JaBiden Administration completely failed to protect us from a space invader. The Associated Press (AP) has way to much time and money on its hands.
All while live following the latest fiasco from Carrow Road…
The COVID madness continues. It's hard to believe that we are even dumber after eighteen months of this nonsense, but... we are... even dumber...
A big part of the problem continues to be Social Media, especially Facebook, which has now produced a second "whistleblower" to bolster it's desire to regulate the industry. Of course, more and more people are now finding ways to Raines Sandwich the Social Media Giant, because that's what real Americans do. And what we have done for generations.
Sugar daddies are seeking sugar... daughters? Did Dr. FauciToday® finally cross the line?
Rabbi Dave is deeply concerned about the bet with FriarJedi Rod over the Norwich City-Newcastle match
In the year of our Lord 1810, a celebration was held to commemorate the marriage of a beautiful and beloved princess to an absolute jerk of a Prince who would go on to become King. Eventually the people got rid of the ruler, but they kept the celebration. Which serves to remind us that our expectations of our leaders are - more often than not - misplaced and subject to great disappointment.
Speaking of expecting our people to act rationally, did you know that you cannot wear white after Labor Day? Technically it was September 12th, until the President of the United States was forced to get involved in the argument.
The US Navy once saved this country from an invasive species of malevolent giant snails. Florida would do well to call upon the Navy. Meanwhile in London, you can buy a very expensive house with some very special shrubbery...
Rabbi Dave remains unconvinced that the "religious exemption" argument is a valid, especially for government football coaches for mediocre programs. Friar Jedi Cook on the other hand, believes that the use of aborted fetal cells in vaccines is a valid religious exemption, although it's unclear as to what religions (if any) actually hold that position.
Then again, Dave is of the stated belief that the USS Connecticut was grabbed by a Kraken. It makes as much sense as anything else.
Crab Rangoon's are ubiquitous at Chinese Restaurants in the United States. But don't look for them in China. Why not? Because it turns out that American Chinese culture, mixed with Tiki Culture (Think Trader Vic's) has been an enormous influence on what Americans think is delicious Chinese food.
Be careful of the atomic wedgies and be ever so thankful for the death penalty. It will leave you asking... What the Frock?
Rabbi Dave is joined by the newly minted Jedi Knight Rod who recently joined the Church of the Jedi to ask a few questions, which is what goliards do.
Were the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed by an air burst weapon, ala Tunguska? A recent scientific paper says that it happened just that way. But don't just follow that science quite so fast!
No one ever expects the Ninjas. Especially in the middle of the night on a Special Forces base in California. And in the great tradition of the "White Canvas" art movement, a Danish artist has decided that the best art is the art of theft.
In 1944 a US Airborne trooper did his wounded buddy a solid. Years later he discovered that his actions that day had become legendary. And delicious.
We have a bunch of new listeners thanks to the comic strip Day by Day, which will feature the show this week.
Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod gather again to talk about the issues of the day. Sure… it’s not the “weekend,” but who really cares?
One of the more amazing effects of the way we live today is how information that displeases us is treated. You might think that this is something new, but it’s really not. Even Dostoyevsky spent a lot of pages telling a long involved poem about it…
We’re all going to die, but at least we’re not on Jupiter.
Do you lean Jedi over Sith? That’s because you are a sexist, and and you’re a bigot with a need to over compensate…
Rabbi Dave replaced his computer this week, so of course the sound inputs aren't working correctly... the absurdity of the "Religious Exemption" to the vaccine mandate is pretty obvious when you think about it, even to a Christian Scientist (which is NOT a Scientologist). The best argument for an exemptions is to just be a politician!
It's a "Talk Like a Pirate day" episode of What the Frock!
When it's November in his soul, Rabbi Dave gets morose. Friar Rod provides some therapy and counseling, because that's what Frockmen do...
On the morning after the Ludi Romani, Rabbi Dave is feeling a bit under the weather. Unusually, Good Friar Cook is feeling just fine. The Internet is rapidly becoming a place of censorship and idea control by using the magic phrase, "content moderation..."
Rabbi Dave has a set of questions that are guaranteed to get a "COVID-19 Informational" box slapped on the post by Facebook. The poet e.e. cummings is in the news and Dave HATES one particular patriotic song and the reason involves the French King Louis XIV's dirty butt.
Sixteen years ago was a beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest, where Rabbi Dave is. Today is also a beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest. And once again it is slated to be an historic day in a southern hellhole.
Harvard has decided to stop even pretending that they believe in God, while Lester Holt has decided to not ask relevant questions about saving lives.
Eating hot dogs is bad for you, Christo is dead, but that isn't stopping him from creating art for you to enjoy. And the Vice President went to Vietnam.
TRIGGER WARNING: Adult Language
Stop us if you've heard this one before... masks are back and better than ever! Apparently OnlyFans has tired of making gobs and gobs of money. It's either that or there is something more nefarious afoot. Mad Scientists are growing brains in Petri dishes and Woke culture is turning everything to... well... you know...
After an unexpected week off, Rabbi Dave headed for the hills, while Friar Rod was busy donating platelets and trying to keep his daughter out of jail.
The boys return just in time for another useless mask mandate, which has them a bit on edge. football, bit American and European, is underway, and it was NOT a good start to the season and another useless start for the American version. Meanwhile, Hermit crabs are getting frisky and State Patrol Officers are trying to explain what they missed in North Carolina.
See those birds up there in the air? They might not be real…
The Olympics are all the rage these days. But viewership is way down. Is it because of the "woke" culture or are there some other factors at play here?
The Delta death variant is now upon us. This time around, we are being told that masks are the ONLY thing that can possibly save humanity from complete and utter destruction.
Ashton Kutcher has webbed feet. Webbed and stinky feet. But at least he still has his balls, unlike Florida man...
Rabbi Dave and friar Cook are back from their three week sabbatical!
It was quite the road trip for Dave, but at least NASA and the FAA didn't change the rules on his mission right before he blasted off. Facebook doesn't seem to know anything about gardening, but really who's surprised?
And there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for why you don't understand what JaBiden had to say about... something...
It's hot.
Seriously... Seattle is melting and it's taking the bridges with it.
Meanwhile, have you gotten your F-15 or nuclear weapons yet? Like an air conditioner you might want to avoid the rush and get it today! The COVID Merry Go round of Stupidity continues to spin, this time the NCAA manages to screw up which is really no big surprise. They'll just blame COVID protocols!
If you're looking for a good time, you might want to visit the Redneck Rave. Or maybe a Home Depot exorcism? But do it while Friar Cook is out walking his dogs that refuse to use their doggie door anymore.
As the boys head off on their summer sabbatical, they remind you to go ahead and buy your new computer because you have to anyway. Oh, and to download, like, share and rate the show!
“Plausible deniability” is the goal of the day as it turns out that Friar Cook not only is a potential domestic terrorist, but appears to already be on more than one “list” for those organizations tasked with rooting out the extremists.
Meanwhile, it is Father’s Day, this time for real! Rabbi Dave has his cinnamon rolls and is living the good life today, but is sans clothing really the way to go today?
Follow the Science says that left turns should be verboten!
Hunter Biden has a new career, which is better than having somebody crap on your lawn.
Norwich City and Newcastle United will play each other this season for the first time in three years. This necessitates a bet between the Friar and the Rabbi which literally nobody else on the planet outside of the Yellow Army and the Toon Army will actually care about.
It is definitely NOT Father’s Day, but that doesn’t make what is being said by the Presidents, the Mayor of Seattle or some (we assume) chick on Tik Tok make anymore sense…
Time Travel gives Rabbi Dave headaches. Even if you could go back just one year, what could you actually change? In Arizona, a political attack will have you saying WTF? It turns out that the Colonial Pipeline security system was pretty much the same as the one President Skroob has on his luggage.
And June 6th is an important day. Not only is if the anniversary of D-Day, but it's is also the sixtieth wedding anniversary for Dave's parents, an event that could be an interesting trip for a time traveler...
In the early part of the 20th Century, there was a great opportunity to change things for the better. Instead, one man saw a chance to gain personal power and prestige and in the process, he brought destruction and devastation while unleashing the worst mass killer in the history of humanity.
Lessons were not learned, and today an eighty-year old geriatric doctor hold sway over what happens to millions of people pretty much all of whom think that he should have retired back in the 1980s.
The Round Mound of Rebound has a great idea that would convince Dave to actually buy tickets to see NBA games. Meanwhile Rod is wondering about whether or not tress can fart?
And what was the worst year to be alive?
After a couple of weeks of deafness, Dave can finally hear again. Also, we no longer have to wear facemasks.
Maybe.
The cancelling of dead white guys who contributed to society and science continues, as now even Charles Darwin finds himself on the chopping block for being a racists, sexist, misogynist who shouldn't be remembered for anything else.
The Good Friar and the Rabbi are here to help you step up your dating game!
Rabbi Dave finally got his second shot. It led to a strange week... The Colonial Pipeline attack has the Facebook Experts crawling out to inform us that would have handled it better and quicker than was done. Of course, the Good Friar actually happens to be an expert IT security professional, and he will remind us of of a few things that the Keyboard warriors seem to have overlooked.
On the Bay Area freeways the CHiPs discovered a self driving car that wasn't supposed to be doing that; while in India there may be other reasons that the COVID-19 is spreading.
A hundred years ago Italy and what was then Austria-Hungary fought against each other in the bitter cold of the alpine mountains that separated the two nations as a part of the most useless war in history. Now, you can see the artifacts of that fight. Because of global warming?
As we slowly seem to approach the end(?) of the COVID-19 Pandemic, it has the boys wondering what exactly does "normal" actually mean? Will it be a return to the same problems we had before the pandemic so rudely interrupted them? Will Governors realize that the fastest way to lose re-election is to cross their own constituency?
Popsicles are great! Maybe not fifty-one cases of them, but still... And do you suffer from or know someone who suffers from PSD? Rabbi Dave is here with the help that you need to deal with the problem and to help others get through the pain of PSD.
Dave and Rod are becoming concerned that there is a reason that the media is ignoring the Biden gaffes, but not trying to cover them up. It's almost like they want us talking about them which is very unlike the media under previous Presidents.
Meanwhile, life aboard a submarine is nothing like what it says in the article about what life aboard a submarine is like. And apparently people are confused by the concept of "meat."
It's really hard to believe, after the debacle that was the Super Bowl ads, but now more people than ever are participating in the annoyance that is ASMR. And now we learn that many of these idiots actually believe that ASMR is better than sex...
The English Language has certain rules of grammar, which are pretty much universally ignored, especially in cases where heads are being lopped off.
There is some film awards show tonight, but more important things are afoot. A one hundred year plus mystery is finally solved, while the news breaks that the Government IS in fact, spying on us. Just not the part of government you’d expect.
The Rabbi & The Good Friar take a look at the most common side effect of the COVID-19 Vaccine, which Rod has gotten, but Dave has not. The shot, not the side effect.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to offend pretty much everybody, the guys talk about a woman in Colorado, who happens to be an affirmed and ordained minister (just like the guys!) who has a... well... a different approach to getting peoples attention that is outside the norm generally accepted for preachers. Is she wrong? Of course not! That's what "affirming" means!
It's the 121st-ish Birthday of the US Navy's Submarine Force. So Dave is happy... ish...
It's the day that we celebrate the long and complicated human tradition of a belief in resurrection. Yesterday in Cairo, twenty-two mummies of New Kingdom Pharaohs and Queens were paraded through town as they were moved to a brand new museum prepared just for them. They are a reminder of how long humans have believed in or hoped for an afterlife.
Friar Cook has a reminder about the necessity of locking down your internet security. And in the WTF segment, we have a special request to return to one of Rabbi's Dave's favorite places, Flathead County, Montana...
Why do we do things that we know are bad for us? Like skydiving, smoking, hooking up for sex with serial killers, or ordering delivery food without a vibrating dildo?
‘Cause we’re just a bunch of cis-gendered pansexuals? Which, thanks to the Social Media dopamine, we felt the need to tell you about…
Back in June of 1987, almost forty years ago, in case you weren't feeling old already, a fellow by the name of Terrance Trent D'Arby released his first solo album, which he then described as "the most important album since Sgt Peppers."
He was of course, over exaggerating, but on purpose because he wanted to make a point. Then he died and to this day nobody really understands whatever point he was trying to make. We aren't likely to figure it out because, as he said, "Sometimes you just have to hit people over the head with it."
This helps explain why Robert Kraft got away with going to a Massage Parlor, as as we now refer to them, a "Spa."
Digital rights are all the rage right now, for pretty much anything you can convince a fool to buy. And in the weather, Waterspouts are attacking the Coast of Washington State.
It's all a great big ball of What the Frock????
In the religion of Wokeness, there are no forgivable sins. In the world of Rabbi Dave, there is at least one unforgivable sin – calling him on the cell phone, especially after 10pm.
But for those who have dared to offend the woke god , there is seemingly no way out, except for repeated pacification offerings that don’t really do anything except calm the god down for a short while, until the next great offense comes along to rekindle the outrage from the same people who are snarfing down junk food at night while claiming to be vegans all day long.
Or… it could just all be a big misunderstanding because your wife was concerned about her brain leaking…
What started as a discussion over the Twitter Profile of a Congressional candidate in North Carolina, led to a long and winding road for the Good Friar and the Rabbi. From the concept of “free will” leading to the idea of the “Social Gospel” which in turn leads to perceived existential threats drove economic interests that seemingly had little to nothing in common with religious interests to unite to oppose common threats.
And developed into the religious-political entities that for the past FOUR decades have opposed the older religious-political entities.
So in a world where we are told to keep religion out of our politics, what happened?
As every true goliard knows, the greatest threat to what we do is those in power getting rid of those who dare to say “No,” to them. It happened in 1933, and it happened again – at least in threat – this past week when a Congresswoman decided that nobody should be telling her that the rules mean she cannot just do whatever she wants. Like most tyrants, she reacted as one would expect.
The Good Friar Cook has some guidelines for us on how to Zoom, almost none of which Rabbi Dave follows.
And in WTF News, never go preaching door-to-door if you have forgotten to dress properly… or at all (guess the State?). And world famous and fabulously rich rap artist Azealia Banks says that being Jewish is easy! Mazel tov, Bitches!
Irony, thy name is What The Frock?
After a power outage induced recording delay and a mid-show internet dropout, Friar Cook and Rabbi Dave talk a Texas sized power related fiasco, coffee, Davido’s Tequila (If You Can Still See, It’s NOT Davido’s!) and the cultural appropriate of labels by social media influencers who are not Mexican nationals…
It's Lupercalia!
For those of you still stuck in the 21st Century, that's the pagan Rome celebration of whipping women and then "romancing" them for an entire year that was later replaced by Valentine's Day, which is, of course, a celebration of a creepy old dude getting his head cut off after he professed his love for a formerly blind jail-keepers daughter!
Seriously.
Also Coyotes from both Florida and Silverdale are involved because it wouldn't be Lupercalia without them!
The MOST important thing to keep in mind right now - above all else - is that no matter what you've been told or what you believe, there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever, that they are better than you.
And they know it.
Which is why if you did what they did, you'd go to jail, but they get to brush off 60 Minutes and keep on trucking...
It's been a good week for Goliards! Unless you happen to be a robin hood type, then maybe not so much?
Our States are beginning to enter Phase II, but once again, the rules make absolutely Zero sense. Arbitrary lines seem to more about who voted for a Governor than any actual scientific data about the virus.
At least one large equity fund is preparing to buy your data. So.. you PAID somebody to test your DNA, and now that data will be purchased by a giant company which has announced that it will sell that data to whomever wants it. For what, exactly?
The freedom to criticize opera is one of the most fundamental rights we have in this country. What you do not have the freedom to do is to sing along. They (the Opera people) hate that.
The Internet of Stuff has taken over our lives... and now our afterlives.
And in what should become the most epic opera since "A True Daughter of the Party," Helen Hywater and Caroline Nesbitt have created the most incredibly entertaining argument in the history of broccoli casserole...
In 1773, Captain James Cook, who is NOT related to the Friar, "discovered" the Antarctic Circle.
That goes to show that having a good Media Packaging system is really the critical element. And of course, no matter what happens this week in the nations green zone of a capitol, the media package is what will matter to most people...
It's time for the Feast of the Ass!
Which, by the by, is NOT the title of a porn flick. It was a service once mocked by the Goliards for its absurdity and silliness.
Which one could argue has a very obvious modern parallel on full display for everybody to go all "He Haw" about...
Once, long ago, there were certain men of faith who followed the legendary Bishop Golias. They were renegade clerics. Men of no fixed abode, they are noted more as gamblers and tipplers than as poets or scholars.
Their satire was almost universally directed against the most powerful political entity of the day, the Church.
In 1277a.d., they were forever banned from chanting in the service, and later they would be removed from the privileges of the clergy. Their songs of love and drinking, thought the church, were at last silenced.
And yet, their spirit remained alive and very well, indeed.
In the songs of troubadours and in the antics of jugglers, these followers of the mythical Bishop Golias began to serve a higher purpose - one recognized throughout history - that of the entertaining a weary and frustrated public.
In the spirit of the Goliards, Rabbi Dave and Friar Cook will bring you their irreverent and raucous views of the day.
So come, fill your mug and sing boisterously along and ask yourself the simple question:
What the Frock?
John Wilmont, 2nd Earl of Rochester
The Goliards
On the final episode ever of Do Not resuscitate, Dave & Rod have been officially reprimanded by Facebook. Why? Because COVID-19, that's why! Which could be the reason that so many people are at least trying out new Social Media platforms. Or not.
Dave is wondering why people hate him. more specifically why they felt the need to ruin his turkey sandwich with their Christmas Greeting cards?
Over the course of 2020, Rod has been binging Hallmark movies but now, we have the additional burden of Hallmark Christmas Movies! Rod will bring you his review of USS Christmas!
The final ever Listener City of the week is Dave's old duty station, near where the USS Christmas was stationed, and home of the East Coast Surfing Championship.
You might think that Andy Williams was singing about 2020, but he wasn't per se. There was no way he could have foreseen the scary stuff from this year, which has culminated in actual, real-life arguments over whether or not having a Doctorate Degree is worthy enough or not. Meanwhile, politicians are being triggered by TV commercials during meaningless basketball games that they forced their family to watch, and since it's still 2020, they have to tell you about it.
H.P. Lovecraft drew inspiration from a fellow who used to tell scary - and moralistic - Christmas ghost stories back in time when people weren't triggered by Pillow Commercials or other people's paperwork...
While busy making sure that more than two thousand businesses in the Puget Sound area have been shuttered due to COVID, the local government in King County has some advice for us on how to practice safe COVID Sutra. It involves not staying at home, which it has advised us to do because, COVID, so as to make sure that the sex act is COVID safe. Which is just another reason to wonder what the heck is going on here?
Rod has your final BEER of the WEEK, while Dave wanders down the HISTORICAL RABBIT HOLE of the WEEK, a return to his own childhood and the month's biggest Birthday Boy.
Even more growing COVID-19 stupidity. In some places in Rod's home state, even walking is now considered an "unnecessary activity" and is thus banned by the powers that be. Meanwhile, Dave can still walk, but not by himself on a socially distanced treadmill at a now verboten gym. The mall, on the other hand, with its crowds and lines of people waiting to get into stores that are limited to six people inside them, is just fine and dandy to walk about inside.
The monolith was not taken back by aliens, but rather by Social Media zealots who want you to know that they didn't want to do it, but you made them do it and they have to tell you about it.
It has been definitively proven that Die Hard IS a Christmas movie. There is no longer any question about the matter.
We had a show planned. Really… we did.
And then, the Right Reverend Rod, Friar Cook, and Laird of Oakdale decided to cook dinner. Having removed a portion of his thumb, he was left with an appendage that looks… well… phallic.
And he won’t stop touching it.
The BEER of the WEEK, which Rod was consuming both before and after the Turkey Tetrazzini Incident, is a Pandemic favorite.
If Dave could stop giggling over Rod’s Penis Thumb, his HISTORICAL RABBIT HOLE of the WEEK would tell you a tale of the Cold War, in which the Polish National Football Team, which finished 3rd in the 1980 World Cup, helped bring down Communism. Just not quite like you might think they could.
Our LISTENER CITY of the WEEK involves some Thanksgiving history and a swipe at the B1G 10.
No matter how you slice it, it’s a fun-filled episode of Do Not Resuscitate…
"Dance Moms' is the second-worst show on television. That's not the point, which is that nobody on that show can be possibly be classified as "neurotypical." This is why when one of these children gets cast in a new movie made by another neuroatypical performer who clearly has issues, the woke crowd comes out of their collective panties to complain.
What is different this time though, is quite refreshing. Much like a Churro flavored Stout, which is your BEER of the WEEK.
Dave's HISTORICAL RABBIT HOLE of the WEEK proves that dentists are bad for human evolution; and the Listener city of the week is not in Hawaii.
It seems as though things have come full circle for Dave & Rod. We started with COVID lockdowns and now we are back to COVID lockdowns. This time though we have the added element of implied threats and government officials who seem hell bent on making certain that YOU comply while they themselves continue to act as if they don’t really care.
The Right Reverend Rodbo, Laird of Oakdale, has your BEER of the WEEK, while Dave delves into the eMail bag to answer the question: Do you like bananas?
The Historical Rabbit Hole of the Week takes us to the mythical Island of Baja California and our Listener City of the Week is a place full of satellites. And beaches.
The Right Reverend Rodbo, Larid of Oakdale, and Dr. Rabbi Colonel Dave gather to celebrate the Synaxis of the Archangel Michael and the other Bodiless Powers of Heaven.
Dave, of course, is in a mood over Social Media and the listener who doesn't like his long-standing policy about validating other peoples existence. Meanwhile Rodbo, Laird of Oakdale, is taking his Bride of thirty-one years to Pismo, which meant Dave had to get up early to record. But at the end of the day, it won't stop Rod from bringing you the BEER of the WEEK or Dave from drifting down TWO Rabbit Holes of the Week, including why Jesus was painted to look like a 15th Century Mass Murderer and how theRussians managed to do the impossible this week in 1986.
Our Listener City of the Week takes us to Scandinavia in what, once upon a time, was Denmark, then Sweden and now is "Norway," which may or may not be an actual place.
It's the scariest week of the year, as evidenced by the presence of ghosts, spirits, politicians and the end of the baseball season.
In the middle of a COVID Super Spreader Yodeling contest, The Right Reverend Rodbo has your BEER of the WEEK. In ancient Athens, an early version of Survivor had the people voting off politicians and Dave is trying to go to the gym and not have to put up with the "Do You Even Lift, Bro?" bro's...
On a scary episode of Sanhaim DNR, the boys are here to keep you calm and carrying on...
On this weeks episode of the Podcast formerly known as “Do Not Resuscitate,” the Right Reverend Rodbo and Dr. Rabbi Colonel Dave discover that there is more to this ordination thing than they thought at first glance.
They now realize that they will have to deal with people who actually like the most disgusting substance on the planet, and that there are some people who still believe in the paranormal.
Reverend Rodbo has your BEER of the WEEK, which is sour. Rabbi Dave’s Historical Rabbit Hole of the Week, actually has a rabbit in it! Or… possibly a large ill-tempered cat.
It is true that a lady who was listening to the podcast formerly known as “Do Not Resuscitate” was admitted to a courtroom…
On this episode of DO NOT RESUSCITATE, Rabbi Colonel Dave and The Right Reverend RodBo delve into the political and social issues surrounding the psychosexual habits of barmaids in Peru. Despite their theological differences, this deeply controversial subject is treated with the greatest possible respect by these two fine men of the cloth as they examine the impacts both socially and politically as the presumptive President-elect, Joe Biden, has promised that he will finally address this tragic problem.
Just kidding… they are off on a romp through the World of Coke, Rax Roast Beefs scintillating spokesman, Beer, and how American came to love the parka. And Peruvian Barmaids…
Also… Is it “On this episode” or “In this Episode?” The Grammarly dickedy-dee doesn’t seem to know…
Both the Right Reverend Rodbo and the recently re-frocked Rabbi Colonel Dave are here to bring you the word, which is both sacred and brought to you by the good folks in Islip, NY.
After six plus months to "15 Days to Flatten the Curve," it's pretty clear that the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic have been more far reaching than originally expected. Then again, it's 2020, so of course, they are.
Rodbo has your BEER of the WEEK, while Dave's BINGE is a surprising Return to Tomorrow.
Being as it's 2020, would anybody really be surprised by cursing parrots or a bunch of mummies? Of course, in a hundred years, we'll look back on this and think to ourselves, "Why were those people so stupid?"
Dave decided to try to learn to fly. It went about as well as one could expect when he failed to stick the landing.
It's also Yom Kippur, Judaism's favorite celebration of joy and happiness and everything we have ever done wrong, even the things the things we don't know we did wrong.
The BEER of the WEEK isn't a Beer, but it is quite delicious. Dave's Historical Rabbit Hole gets to the bottom of why Modesto, CA has a motto that is not the one for which the people of Modesto actually voted. Meanwhile, over in Ho Chi Min City (neè Saigon), the news has Rod asking WTF?
In the event that you did not already know, the boys are celebrating the Most Important Week in history today. The week followed what was obviously a very Merry Christmas…
What, if anything, is the difference between being “woke” and being a person of faith? There are an uncomfortable numbers of similarities between being in a a faith system and being “woke” politically speaking. It’s actually becoming harder top tell the difference as “wokeness” becomes more and more a religion.
Rod has your BEER of the WEEK, and The Binge has him watching along with his wife. Meanwhile Dave watched one show, four times. Why? Because Roku’s Basilisk is already here. And it’s frightening…
With Rodbo away on a TOP SECRET mission, Tim Preuss, who says that he hates the ACLU, steps into the weekly conversation.
And we take a look at the recent setto over the acceptance of Nick Sandman, yes that guy, at a college of which you most likely have never heard in a place that is beautiful, but apparently full of secret agents looking to provoke things.
RodBo did leave us with his BEER of the WEEK, and Dave tried really hard to Binge-watch TV, any TV this week, while Tim doesn’t even watch TV.
The HISTORICAL RABBIT HOLE of the WEEK reminds us that the media manipulating things is nothing new.
Forty years ago, a film changed the way we watch movies.
Well... not really, but it did make us laugh. And we mean we laughed so hard we wet our pants and had to hold the popcorn bucket in front of our pants when we left the theater.
Now along comes a couple of Gen Xers who have decided that brilliant film was "sexist, racist" and don't forget about the naked breasts, of which there were two and only for a second. The real problem is that they don't understand why it's funny. Mostly because nowadays when things aren't understood they become "offensive." That way they don't have to try and learn about them.
Rod's BEER of the WEEK comes from Arizona and involves Scotsmen lifting their kilts.
Dave's Historical Rabbit Hole reminds us that (a) speed traps aren't really about "safety," and (b) judging people by how they look will always make you look foolish.
Even when you don't understand that you are being mocked...
Dave has had an epiphany. It turns out, thanks to a cutting edge TV ad, that he has learned that it is entirely Trump’s fault that baseball has been eviscerated. Thank the baseball gods, Joe Biden, “Baseball Joe,” is GOING TO BRING IT BACK!!!!!
Which is pretty much all that is keeping Dave sane right now, because everything, even breathing, has now been labeled “racist.” Because you are listening to a white cis-gendered podcast, you too, are a racist.
After Dave ventured down the Historical Rabbit Hole of the Week to discover how the USS Greenville managed to get named after a very small city in east Tennessee, Rod has your BEER of the WEEK, and on The BINGE, Dave goes criminal while Rod goes endurance racing…
Some pandemics have lasted as much as two hundred and thirty-eight years. It is beginning to feel like we've been that long - and more - already. It's getting to Dave, and to Cami who has a problem with the Geometry of COVID-19.
Never eat more anything that is almost as big as you. If you do, you will probably die or at least have a bad case of indigestion...
It’s really hot. Seriously hot. Despite that heat, Dave & Rod are still here with your weekly look at what’s going on, even if they can’t decide on a new name for the show.
After months of pretending to go to school online, are students really learning anything?
On The BINGE, Rod is introducing his young, innocent child to a tale of Superheroes being creepy and destructive. Dave is back to his old habits watching history and travel shows. This leads us to the HISTORICAL RABBIT HOLE of the WEEK, and also to Rodbo’s BEER of the WEEK which Rod didn’t drink, but Dave did.
The debate over a new name reaches a new low. And there can only be one winner on the Patrick Krebbs Memorial Listener of the Week Award. If we had better Listeners they would already know that…
Ahem.
Sorry about that. It’s really freaking HOT!
In Minsk today, there is a Presidential election going on. You didn’t know that? The current President is an “authoritarian style leader.” Or, if you prefer, a totalitarian dictator. His opponent is the wife of a jailed YouTube sensation. which explains why the whole place is shut down today. It also raises some questions about what would happen here if the election in November doesn’t go the way some people want it to go?
Rodbo’s BEER of the WEEK is best defined as “robust.” Dave heads down his Historical Rabbit Hole that reminds us that all politicians are jerks. Even then one for which his home town is named.
The BINGE has the boys continuing their watching of The Expanse, but also the PGA Championship and MLB.
All in all, it’s a very strong and healthy, one might even say vigorous, strong, and rich in flavor and smell, episode of Do Not Resuscitate!
We’re late, but we’re here!
Dave has a terrible secret about towels that will finally come to light. If he can get down the stairs that is.
Rod has been confined to the couch with his bride to watch the most terrible and hideous show on television. Luckily, he has a great BEER of the WEEK.
Dave heads down a Rabbit Hole that started when he watched a movie he’d never seen before. It ended with the splat of David Hasselhoff singing with Men Jeong.
Microsoft is trying to buy Tik Tok, which is great because Americans seem to base their every belief on short videos and memes anyway. Which leaves the boys wondering if there is truth to the old saying that ignorance is bliss?
The worst job in the entire world would be the guy who has to clean out the pit toilets in a National Park (or anywhere else, for that matter). Specifically, Yosemite National Park, where the tourons from "Asia" (being typical Americans we are unable to make a distinction), are pooping out the COVID into the pit toilets in the park.
The numbers seem meaningless, but that is not going to stop Jay "Zero" Inslee from inflicting Lockdown 2.0 on Washington State. Meanwhile, there are some things that we are missing in the news because of the COVID-19 crises. Including a plague of more than Biblical proportions.
We've got Rodbo's BEER of the WEEK, the PKMLOTW Award, The BINGE, and Dave heads down a Historical Rabbit Hole of Bioluminescence...
Other stuff referenced during the Show...
Joe Biden on "Most People" and Asians
The EARN IT Act is sneaking through the Senate
Huge Earthquake in Zagreb
More threats of more lockdowns lead to even less thinking on the part of people on Social Media. this is evidenced by the proliferation of Epstein/Obama memes, at least one of which is so wrong that you would literally have to have to be dumber than cabbage to believe it. Which is why it got posted more than once over the week.
Dave apologizes for being forced by other people to do something offensive a mere forty-seven years ago, and also did not win the Medal of Honor, although he is free to tell you that he did.
The BINGE is back, with Rod taking on The Expanse, a sci-fi thriller about a war looming between Mars (of course) and Earth. Dave, in keeping with the theme of the Memes, took on the four-part documentary: Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich.
We've got Rodbo's BEER of the WEEK, and this weeks winner of the Patrick Krebbs Memorial Listener of the Week Award
In honor of Ben's tenth birthday, Dave violates his #1 Rule abut the getting into the Sharks Houses...
Rod doesn't speak French, or southern. we know this because his BEER of the WEEK is a southern delicacy from Mississippi.
Should Teenagers be able to "pre-register" to vote? As Ben is now ten years old, this might be an issue sooner rather than later. For Rod, it was an issue this past week as he took one of his kids to get a driver's permit.
Three strong competitors vie for the Patrick Krebbs Memorial Listener of the Week Award, but only one has what it takes to earn the top spot for the award.
And it turns out that Æthelred was really not ready for the St Brice's Day Massacre of November 13, 1002. The advice he got did not include just taking a bath and changing his clothes which might have solved his problem in the first place...
After a very busy Independence Day week, the boys are back. Rod's daughter got married. The President's speech has generated a flurry of responses from both sides, but one, in particular, had Dave chasing it down a very, very, very, weird rabbit hole. We have actually reached the point where a porn star's swimsuit is a bigger political storm than the actual politicians. Meanwhile, it's still true that it isn't "what" is said, but rather "who" says it."
We forgot to award the Patrick Krebbs Memorial Listener of the Week award last week, so we make up for it with two weeks' worth of the award.
The Beer of the Week is a delicious Ale offering from the breakfast table.
And Dave is doing some research on the election of 1876, how it led to many of the problems we are having today. But... he found his way down yet another rabbit hole of a German-language professor who murdered his wife in 1906...
Is the protest formerly known as CHAZ about to get "Red Pilled?" How do we even have a clue as to what to believe about what is going on? If we keep on "Doomscrolling" we end up driving ourselves crazy trying to figure out what is going on in the glorious Peoples Demokratick Repulick of #CHOP, or anywhere else for that matter.
Facebook Memes are another part of the problem. Just because a given meme says that somebody you don't know and that you have never met said something that you like to believe that they would say or what you think that they might think, doesn't make it so.
Rod has an interesting BEER of the WEEK, and Dave finally catches up to the Chicken Pot Pie episode in The BINGE.
It's a busy week ahead as Rod heads out to Southern California for a major family event.

The world will end today or in six months. There is bad news because of this: it means that we will have to go through another Presidential election. We will also tell you the good news because of it!
A recent article from a history site he follows has Dave contemplating more of the issues we face as a society. The big question is how do we overcome the "Lost Cause" Mythology that permeates the discussion?
Rod has your Beer of the Week but The Binge, a mainstay segment of the COVID lockdown,is less than scintillating this week.
We've Got the Patrick Krebbs Memorial Listener Of The Week Award and we have The Weekly Wisdom with Which We Leave You...

There was a rumor floating about the bowels of the interwebs that the Hells Angels AND the Mongols were both on their way up I-5 to "take care of" the CHAZ. Like so many things on the interwebs it turned out to be a white rabbit hole that went nowhere.
That said, there is still a lot more to unpack about the CHAZ, or CHOP, as they prefer to be called. Is there an actual "solution" to the CHAZ? If there is, what might it look like? Or does it even matter?
The Beer of the Week is not the one Dave is drinking, although it is similar. It is the Slo Brew A-Slo-Ha, which is something of a surprise as Robo's well-known disdain for IPAs had the oddsmakers looking in another direction.
And DNR announces the Listener of the Week award, which is named after the memory of their greatest listener...
The boys are looking for ways to survive the ongoing stress created by the Coronavirus pandemic. While Rod is used to staying home, Dave's family is most definitely not and they want to go to their favorite place to go out to eat. Which locally is still closed, but a hundred miles away, it's open. Albeit in the most COVID-19 way possible. Meanwhile, Sir Isaac Newton may have found the preventative medicine that we all need to protect ourselves. Yes... even while he was discovering gravity AND inventing calculus, he found the time to cure all your ills! And if they can get anybody to listen, the boys are ready to shill for ToLo's!
Others seem to no longer care about the virus as protests flow across the nation. Jean-Jaques Rousseau once explained that it is not possible for a majority to organize itself for anything. Minorities (not just racial) are able to organize much more effectively and thus have always driven the social and political changes in history. We need to be having a full and frank discussion, including what are the deepest problems in the nation without assuming that because we don't agree on everything that we are mortal enemies. While some seem determined to stop any level of conversation, we will be wise to listen to Voltaire's warning. Because that, along with Rousseau's warning, is how evil men and women co-opt entire civilizations.
Rod's BEER of the WEEK is a delicious offering from the local Oakdale, CA, area.
Space Force is entertaining both the boys, mostly because of John Malkovich, who one of the three figures of Dave's Actorhead. All of it brought to you by All Natural and Homeopathic ToLo's!
Diamond & Rod are joined by Bill Mick from WMMB-AM in Melbourne, Florida, where American just launched her first astronauts into space from US soil is almost a decade. Bill generally has a front-row seat for launches and as a long time Floridian, he also knows Florida Man personally.
He is also a former Police Officer, so as D&R come back to Earth, the discussion turns to the riots across the country over the death of a black man at the hands of a white cop in Minneapolis, MN. The discussion isn't as much about the "what" that is happening, but a look as to why it is all happening? Is it really as simple as racial bias and animosity? Could it all have been prevented? and if so, what could have done that or possibly would do it going forward?
Will there be a 2020 Baseball Season anywhere but in South Korea? The answer is YES, but only on Dave's computer.
Rodbo has your "Beer of the Week," and in the binge-watch portion of the show, Dave watched ALL of "Upload" last Monday, but has moved back to his love for Baseball, while Rodbo has launched into the Space Force. We also learn that Bill HATES Steve Carrell and Will Ferrell. Mostly because of a horrible podcast...

Did you know that the US Government values a human life at $10 Million? So in the time of COVID, the argument goes, your freedom is worth $10 Million? Or have we gone so far afield of where we should have gone that there’s really no way to put a value on our lives anymore? The models were off, but models (except for Cindy Crawford) are pretty much ALWAYS wrong, but it’s looking more and more like the ones used to eviscerate the economy were as wrong as six rabbits*. Nobody seems to have the same concern over the rise in suicides and motor deaths** that they have over people going back to work or walking about without a mask.
Rod is watching a show about life after death... kind of... While Dave took a friend’s recommendation and turned on Kim’s Convenience. For some reason that defies any reasonable explanation, he also watched snow pisser. Ahem… Snowpiercer…
*That is an old Oklahoma way to say that they make no sense, just like the saying.
After a really rough day, the boys sit down and ponder if a short film by Kevin James is truly representative of the world to come, post-COVID? Around the country people are being arrested - yes, arrested - for not complying with orders to stay inside. Perhaps the boys can look for some inspiration from somebody who has been through all of this kind of thing before? Luckily, there is just such a man. He is (or was) one Samuel Peyps (Peeps), MP (Castle Rising) and the Chief Secretary to the Admiralty, responsible for getting the Royal Navy up to speed for the 2nd Anglo-Dutch war (Spoiler Alert: the Dutch won) and for keeping a rather racy and detailed journal during the Great Plague of 1665. Yes, Sam made it through and gives us a great look at how to comport oneself whilst all around are (literally) dying. The key is to buy a new suit...
Our only listener in Mississippi gives us ten (eight, actually) reasons to live in Mississippi. And the regular Binge-Watch section of the show has some mild surprises.

The lesson of the greatest American Western film ever made is that the legend is more important than the actual facts about what happened. Of course, this whole idea of moral pandemic has been studied before. In 1973 an English (nationality, not discipline) professor by the name of Cohen came up with the five characteristics of moral panics. Pretty much all of them are familiar to us and to the Karen's of the world who want you to know that if you don't do things as they wish, they will use social media to make sure that everybody knows how bad a person you are...
As #Coronafest2020 drags on, it is starting to wear on folks and their idea of how far the government can go in exercising "emergency powers." It really all depends on exactly what constitutes "an emergency." When you stop to think about it, the whole thing is a little bit unsettling.
But when we go back in history to Dave's binge-watching list for this week, we find that once upon a time, people on both sides were willing - and eager - to set aside Constitutional precepts in order to get what they wanted. Whether that was to assure that National security was maintained or to bring down a criminal. It all went to show that what is new is really just a repetition of the past and that when we reach the point that attaining or maintaining power is more important than the rule of law, we are set ting ourselves up for another Watergate...
Dave’s Coronafest2020 Mask is not very functional, but it looks cool.
Meanwhile, religious services are becoming a form of pushing back against the Stay-at-Home restrictions, including the return of the Bundy, Jr., who wants Jesus to punish you because you don’t believe what he believes. In Mississippi, the Lobsterbacks are writing tickets to people sitting in their cars with the windows rolled up at religious services. As the government turns to technology to track the virus, how far are you willing to let them go to gather the data they want?
Part of the problem is the proliferation of “Facts” about the whole situation. Facts, folks. Because you read it on the interwebs?
At least one person listens to DNR and has sent the boys his Binge-Watching List. They rate it, and perhaps unsurprisingly, know little to nothing about it.
In the midst of this apocalypse, Dave has resorted to watching The Tiger King. If you thought the true story of Senator Leland Yee and Shrimp Boy Chow was a train wreck, then The Tiger King is for you.
Is sticking to your Stay-at-Home routine not getting you enough exercise? Lucky for you, there’s an app for that! Don’t worry about who is making the app. How are Dave and Rod holding up after yet another week of Social Distance and Stay-at-Home-ing? For Dave, there is at least one massive positive from all this, and it’s not having to deal with the VA via teleconferencing. For Rod, it’s muscle relaxers and being ignored by teenagers.
For all of that, whether the reaction to the Coronavirus is too much or too little, what are we really learning about the next time something like this happens?
It’s been a bit over a week, Diamond and Rod are here to check in after all that time of Social Distancing.
The news continues to get weird, from who the networks are putting on the TV as “expert commentators” to the celebrity tweets. Even the web articles seem to come and go as the narrative shifts. At the end of the day, who do you trust and to whom do you listen?
It seems that binge-watching shows is a thing that everybody is doing. Diamond and Rod are no exception, although their lists might seem a little… well… weird.

Episode One: Bitch, This is Modesto!
If pretty much everybody, even the cast of Saturday Night Live, gets that the reaction to the Coronavirus is blown far out of proportion to reality, why does the overblown reaction continue? Is it psychological? Or moral? Is it every Alex Jones wet dream fantasy ever imagined about the government using the virus to turn the frogs gay?
And while we are all watching the kabuki play in front of us, what might be happening behind our backs?
Tonight, Dave is having Wyoming Whiskey, while Rod enjoys a Big Bad Baptist Imperial Stout.
