Living in the kingdom of God means we are completely submitted to Christ's rule and authority. This has to affect our day to day activities entirely. Our motivation to do anything should be because we want to please Christ , for He is our ruler.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Psalm 51:12 We can always find a reason to have joy in our salvation, salvation is the greatest gift we have received.
We know that idolatry was prevalent in the Old Testament, however, do we still have idols in this day and age? Idolatry is more than handcrafted images and other objects. In our modern day we have different kinds of idols. Some of these modern day idols are things like wealth, comfort, status, reputation etc. Be alert to these idols.
What do we strive for? Do we strive to serve or do we strive to be served by other? God has given us gifts, gifts to serve one another with, these gifts are not to benefit ourselves. Let's serve His people, let's serve one another in love.
